The First Seer of the Past

Third child and youngest daughter of the Empress Saviour Gaia Ovideus and Emperor Azarius Ovideus.

The beginning of her life was chaotic as the Titan war was beginning. Only an infant she remained behind in the north in castle Ovideus as her family travelled south to find new land. Only to never see her mother again.

Her father Azarius taking the leadership role after her mothers death. He accepted dragons with open arms as they celebrated a new founded unity. For without Maia and Gaia the world would have been lost. The world was broken as he decided to build a new settlement in the chasm where the meteor hit. The epicentre of new raw gold draconium metal.

She was only five when the new era began. A young girl who barely understood of what transpired. She never knew about the world before her mothers death.

Before her mothers sacrifice a gift of the past was given to her, by her mother. However the power to her is limited. She could only see through the eyes of her mother and eventually her father when he passed. And then her uncles and aunties... It was unknown at the time the gift will pass on after her death.

She is known to everyone else as the most beautiful child. Her pale skin, yellow hair and basic blue eyes and made sure she could get any attention from anyone far and wide. She treasured her beauty as an asset to help get what she wants. She Loved to dance and sing as she was the perfect hostess for parties. Graceful and kind they hosted a large tourney to find her a husband. A man named Atlus Kaiser, born in the northern west he was a younger son of the chief leader, from a Mountain clan. Affluent from his mines of Iron ore (His family descendants evolve into the monarchs of the Green Empire). He swore loyalty to house Ovideus. He was much older than her by ten years, but it was known that he treated her kindly. She was wed at the age of fifteen in a lavish ceremony of the time. Together they had four children. Atlus died in 69AT from shivering illness.

By her fathers insistence she was to be paired with a dragon. The dragon community agreed as they have discovered a magic system that both species can control. Her and a dragon named Starfye became friends and they bonded. This new magic was still new as they did not know full potential of draconium yet.

Her father Emperor Azarias Ovideus passed away in 40AT. She mourned for years as she loved him dearly. They had loving relationship. As it was known she was his fathers daughter and clear favourite. But she believed her duty as younger sibling was to help her brother ascend the throne. She worked closely with her brother to make sure his coronation went smoothly. Demanding all humans and dragons witness their new monarch. So they hosted it on the newly built square in the centre of the city. It became a public affair and became tradition from then on.

As third child she was not direct in line to the throne. So instead helped her brother and sister build the city foundation that will one day become Loan. She loved associating with others and travelled the world (This was before countries formed, only other herds, villages and clans lived north). She was her brothers eyes and ears of the people. A job she took seriously and did till her death.

Epithymia her older sister conspired to murder their brother, Emperor Atreo I. To place herself as heir in a jealous rage. Claiming that she is master mind of everything (Which is true, Atreo and Iris ignored her efforts. But her attempting to kill her brother went too far). Leading to the battle of mirrors. Iris watched as Atreo sealed their sister in a mirror. Her brother using a new magic he barely knew how to use. Iris mourned thinking that her sister died. Regretting of how she treated Epithymia for the rest of her life... Looking through Epithymia's room she found plans of a clean water system. She insisted on many being built around the city. Iris naming the fountains after her, much to her brothers dismay.

In her older years she counselled her brother, as the city shaped itself as many travellers came for a new life. She was smart and well liked by the people. Trying meet everyone's needs. The dragons being happy to help with the city's construction.

Iris passed away from heartbreak, after the death of Kathryn her last living child in 80AT at age 85.

The gift of the past was discovered to be the next child born into the family. The future Empress Arina I born 81AT (Daughter of Maia I and younger sister to future Emperor Vasileios I born 78AT). First to be born with the gift of the past. Being able to see through Iris's, Atreos, Azarias eyes and memories.

Random information:

She was born with average blue eyes (not draconium infused). Her hair is yellow and a lighter shade of the average blonde colour. Gold draconium did not mutate into her bones until much later in life. As she was born before the meteor hit and was not near the vicinity of the collision. However as she lived in the crater where gold draconium is prominent. Her and Atreo's children began to show mutated traits that will become their trademark.

She loved apples and kiwi fruit. Where they must be placed in the bowl next to her bed every morning. She loved to walk everywhere in the city (her father/brother making sure she has guards, for protection).

Her favourite dinner being roasted fowl with roasted beetroot. With her favourite drink of red wine.

While hating oranges and brussels sprouts.

Her favourite colour is red and loved to wear it. Standing out amongst other nobles in her parties. With people nicknaming her the Fire Princess.

She had a personalised kokoshnik gold draconium tiara made. Carved with stars and flowers, glowing as it resonated power. Making the style famous for other wealthy families and trademark for royal women for thousands of years. She insisted by law, only royal family members can have gold draconium tiaras, accessories and crowns. (She believed that gold draconium was her family's alone. Her brother agreed, so everyone else used Steel, fabric, Iron, even wood to replicate). Laelia Ovideus (Iolene's mother) wore it during her husbands coronation. The crown was last seen in the family treasure vault. What came of it is unknown.

Duke Adonius- Iris First son 11AT to 70AT

He saw the beginning of the construction of Gold Palace during his childhood. Unlike his mother his hair was a darker shade of blonde, but he had her blue eyes.

He admired his uncle and aspired to be like him. Iris asked for him to a be a steward to his uncle Atreo. Eventually growing up to be a strong knight and a sworn brother to him (Becoming captain of the Golden Guard). He was known to be flirtatious and had reputation with women of the night. (Much to his mothers dismay). He was surrounded by rumours of him fathering a bastard. Emperor Atreo questioned his nephews integrity (Adonius taking vows of celibacy and honour). Leading into an investigation which caused a rift between Iris and Atreo. The investigation turned up nothing (That can be proven). Atreo stripping Adonius of his captain rank as he could no longer be trusted.

Iris broken hearted pleaded to her brother to restore her sons honour to no avail.

Adonius left Loan to pursue his own interests. Finding a wife and family to raise. Having a son and a daughter. He only communicated to Iris through letters. Never coming back to Loan. He died of a heart attack. His body being returned to bury alongside his grandfather in the newly built family crypt.

Duke Denys- Iris Second son 15AT to 30AT

Denys was the last child to be raised in the small castle of Ovideus. He was a weak and feeble boy, who was consistently getting ill. No matter what his mother and father tried he never got better. Denys dreamt and wished of being strong like the rest of his family, but it never came to be. He passed away at the age of fifteen from the flu.

He was the third child to be born with gold eyes.

Duchess Kathryn- Iris third child and only daughter. 21AT-80AT

Iris managed to deliver a healthy daughter into the world. Kathryn the Strong everyone called her. Even her grandsire Emperor Azarias before his passing noted her as that. She took the looks of her father by having brown hair and defined muscles. But like her uncle she had basic green eyes. Like her father she loved the coloured green and loved to wear an element of it everyday.

She loved to fight, and against her mothers wishes she joined tourneys. A new sport that both humans and dragons Partook in. She hated the noble lady life and was very much a fathers girl. Which caused a strain between the three. Making matters even worse as Kathryn uses Starfyre in tournaments. Causing Iris to shun the pair of them. But in time her mother eventually accepted her daughter passion and watched her daughter compete. While also repairing her friendship with Starfyre.

Kathryn met her husband Christoph at a tourney, he came from the mountain village. Beating him in the newly invented sport of dragon jousting.

She dies from a kidney infection.

Kathryn had twin girls later in her life, calling them glorious accidents. Iolene and Ivy born in 59AT. Both girls born with gold hair and eyes. They become future close consorts to Empress Maia I. Being part of her council. Iolene having six children, five living into adulthood. Ivy having only two who were born sleeping. They served the Empire until death. Iolene in 150 AT in her sleep and Ivy 98 AT taking her own life after Empress Maia's death.

Duke Eugene- Iris fourth son 22AT-223AT

He lived a short life as many did in that time. Born strong unlike Denys it was thought he would live a long life. But it wasn't meant to be he passed away from breathing complications.

Starfyre: 5BT – 82AT

After the meteor dragons and humans made peace. The dragon titan is dead and all was well. But the world changed for both species.

Starfyre like Iris was young during the battle. But unlike her human friend she was in the middle of the conflict. As dragons lived south in the dense forests. The dragon titan horrified her. It was known to be undefeatable, until Maia (her mother) and Gaia joined forces to defeat the creature.

She was in direct contact with the meteor's aftershock. Getting hit directly by meteor debris. Knocking her unconscious and waking up as a different kind of creature. Her once basic brown scales turned to black and gold. She glimmered in the sunlight as she did not recognise herself. But she was not alone... Her brother Ironclad also transformed.

She had never seen a human before as Iris as never seen a dragon before. But the devastation bought both species together. With Azarias and dragon leader Roughtooth they decided to ally themselves and live together.

By Gaia and Maia's example they decided to do the pairing system. She became quick friends with Iris and was named Starfyre by Iris. They spent every waking moment together. Herself even learning the human language and about this new power the gold dragons have gained. With the help of Iris they managed to master the mag push and pull. (Other abilities were not yet explored or mastered.)

Starfyre quickly gained high status in dragon kind. For not all turned to gold and had the abilities. She relished in the power and loved to use it as much as she could. Even in settings that did not even need to use powers.

She was a leader to many dragons. Especially in her later years when many young dragons sought guidance. She had at least fifteen dragon pups. With eight surviving to adulthood.

Her and iris had their disagreements over the power issue. Which caused conflict as she began to ride with Duchess Kathryn against Iris's wishes. She loved to compete with Kathryn.

Which led Iris to not speak or see her for a whole year.

Iris eventually conceded and repaired their friendship.

When Iris passed. She mourned for her human partner and pined every night. Eventually she died in her sleep in 82 AT.
