Hello! Son Gohan and friends. Babidi Saga (Chapter 18)

Orange Star High School Vs The Crane School

Objective: Protect the school!

Gohan and Sharpner hoofed it across campus, the flaky frost crunching under their fleet foot steps until they reached the very back half of the school where the track field and baseball fence were. As they rounded the corner the pair saw The Fox and The Apprentice exchange furious blows.

"What the hell..?" Sharpner's eyes darted back and forth trying to comprehend the mystical wind in front of him.

Gohan's eyes narrowed and caught glimpses of the intense combat. Before he could fully lock on to the spectacle in front of him an enormous cylindrical glass tube smashed into the dirt, grinding up the field as it entered the earth and slid along the ground. Konkichi dashed out of the way in time and the tube perfectly segmented the backyard of the school into two segments. The man atop the pillar shot one predatory look at the teal ninja and then at the boys. He wore shades but a mystical glow poured out of his eyes all the same and for whatever reason, the pair forgot what they were doing. Gohan shot a look at Sharpner and likewise he did the same, the both of them raising their brows.

The school was in disarray, students making a break to and fro, some wanting to get a second helping of combat and some taking any excuse they could get to leave class and exit the campus. The alarm blared over the intercom and an announcement took shape.

"Mr. Konkichi's class has received damage! As of this time two students are unaccounted for: Son Gohan and Sharpner! Please evacuate immediately!"

Videl stood still as the entire student body rammed into her in the hallway. She stopped right in the middle of everything with her jaw dropped.

"Mr. Konkichi has Erasa, Gohan, And Sharpner…"

Before a teacher could snatch her collar Videl ran the opposite way, leaping onto the green lockers and making snappy headway towards the back half of the school. She bounded across the tiny space allotted at the top of the hallway until she landed in front of the chalkboard denoting the times for the fastest track sprints.

TAH~TUUUUMMMMHHH!

A giant wave of wind brushed into the hall, forcing Videl to stand her ground lest she be thrust into the schoolkid safety deposits right behind her. The rambunctious girl marched forward through the roaring gales, weathering the storm until the lashback finally left. As she walked through the threshold outside into the biting winter, the man atop the glassy node locked eyes with her through his sunglasses, a piercing noise entered her system and then subsided, and then that subsidation shattered at the noise happening around her.

"Students need to evacuate immediately! There is a stranger in the building! Students need to evacuate immediately! There is a-"

Shen's brow furrowed as Videl came to life and realised her surroundings.

"I need to disable the sound system in the school or it would appear my Telepathy won't stick." He pondered, stepping off the platform before dashing right at Videl.

The rowdy girl rooted in her stance and struck with a righteous stomping left elbow. Shen dodged just barely.

"What the..?" His mind ran a mile a minute. "Why was that so close?"

Wuuush!

"Get back here!" Videl shouted as the man zipped right past her, ninja jumping from corner to corner of the hall.

"Ayy! Get outta' hea'!" Konkichi yelled from the track, jump kicking the teal assailant off of the tube tunnel stuck in the dirt.

Jewel landed right in front of Sharpner and the boy came to, the reality too much to ignore despite the gooey feeling slipping around in his brain.

"Brah..?"

Jewel shook his fist, the white glove lining his frame almost breaking from the malice he held until The Fox pressured and woke the both of them up with his fighting.

"... Konkichi!"

"Stay outta' dis, boy!"

"I'm helping!" Gohan claimed as he dashed in right after the teal ninja.

Gohan slid along the dirt on the left side as Konkichi flanked right. The Apprentice double took both ways before slamming a right leg onto Gohan's midsection.

"Grrr…" He grunted out, not really blocking it despite bringing his arm up to do so.

BOPP!

Konkichi punished him for his troubles, cracking the black visor lining the man's eyes with a quick left hand. His left leg shot high and then rerouted, slamming into Jewel's midsection, bringing the boy to his knees.

THMM!

"Uhouwww~" He let slip unintended.

Konkichi didn't relent, rearing back his left arm to send it below, right on top of the blonde stranger's dome. Videl ran out of the school just in time to see Gohan get rocked and The Fox deliver his return offence. The elbow loomed high and the real deal showed up. Videl's eyes scouted out the path behind her and she tripped up Shen as he dashed back through. The Crane Master hit the ground in a tumble, kicking up dust and dirt before locking eyes with the girl.

"What!?" She shouted, lunging her chest forward and stepping on the ground like a predator deep in the recesses of the jungle.

"I was intending on letting you live but it would appear that you would rather not. Stupid girl." He replied as he cricked his neck and his left arm clacked and clicked to life, a mechanical apparatus in place of flesh and bone.

Time slowed to a crawl and The Fox dashed back, thrusting Jewel into the batting fence far off with a high left roundhouse.

"Ayy!"

Fshuu!

"..!"

WHAMM!

Shen landed clean with a turnaround right elbow, socking the green fox teacher's maw and felling him. Konkichi landed in a backwards tumble as Videl rushed in to cover.

Swhingg!

Videl ducked deftly and eyed Shen through his glasses as his hidden blade struck false, only whistling on the air as the alarm of the school dulled out into nothingness

"Videl!" Gohan yelled from across the track, getting up off the ground in a haphazard sprint, the teal ninja looking to take him out from behind.

Sharpner's eyes finally saw and he leaped in front of his friend, spreading out his wingspan.

Skffffff~

Dust and snow filled the air as Jewel grinded to a halt, his own hidden dagger drawn and at the neck line of his friend.

"..."

"..."

Foggy mist permeated from Sharpner's lips and wet Jewel's mask.

WHAMM!

Sharpner was forced to walk the line left after a smoking hot right hook but he didn't fall.

"That all you got, brah!? After all that training!?"

"Shut up!"

The animosity building between the twos' eye contact was palpable, almost heating up the frost littering the schoolyard. Jewel's anger intensified and he raised his knife hand, looking to beam it towards his 'friend's' location. Before it left his hand Konkichi dashed across the entire length of the field, white and brown dust clouds filling the air as his teeth twinkled and he threw the knife up and down in his hand, also glowing from the snow. His speed was next level and it didn't even seem like Jewel knew what happened until he let go of the blade and then realised it wasn't even in his hand to throw.

Konkichi's cocky smile glistened in the foggy morning of frost and he snapped the knife in half for good measure. After that The Fox stanced up, very low to the ground, his left hand touching the crunchy dead grass.

"Ayy, Galaxy Brain. Not your brightest idea stayin' in hea'. Things are only gonna get messia', Brotha'."

"I ain't gonna let you hang out to dry, teach."

"Dis hea' is my job, it ain't youa' job to take da hits."

"No! I'm fighting!"

Despite not wanting the kid's blood on his hands, all Konkichi could do was smile. Visions of a small boy acting when it wasn't necessary, putting his life on the line for someone he didn't even know. Son Goku had no idea Konkichi was a criminal. If things had gone differently he might have died in a gutter after conning the wrong guy but one seemingly insignificant action changed the course of his life. Konkichi would have liked to take Sharpner out of the action but it was that fire he saw in his eyes that ultimately led him to take martial arts training just like his saviour.

"Aight, kid. Jus' stay behind and be careful. Let me do tha' heavy liftin'!"

Konkichi's lightning fast speed drew an orange, blue, and green fusion of a tron line until he stepped off of Jewel's back to leap from up above onto Shen. The Crane Master landed a cruel right upper to Videl's body, gearing him for a slicing slash with his left.

Shwingg! Scingg!

Shen cursed himself as he missed clean due to Videl's expert head movement.

"Above!" Shen shouted to himself as he watched a shadow cast over his frame. The Crane Master pivoted with next level precision, rooting himself even deeper into the dirt and scorpion tailing to meet feet with Konkchi. The Fox backflipped, taking the momentum from The Crane Master's thrust to land clean on the crunchy dirt.

Clapp! Fuush!

Shen held the pose, one foot on the ground as he slashed wide, left-to-right. Videl got low, dodging to the outside along the edge of the blade.

"Videl!" Gohan roared as he came in close, grabbing onto her shirt and flinging her behind him. Her eyes ran furious as Shen got low, placed both feet on the ground and dashed at them. Konkichi cut him off short only to be stabbed in the back by a kunai.

Slnkk!

"Rrr~"

Sssss~

Gohan's eyes ran the calculations, he had seen this before.

With a rowdy run, Gohan snatched the knife and forced it airborne. As it left his hand it exploded, raining debris and smoke onto the Half-Saiyan, a cough building up in his lungs.

"TAHH!" Shen shouted, kicking Konkichi across the entirety of the field.

Shen looked Gohan's way as Jewel landed behind him. Sharpner took off his jacket and mean mugged the pair as he settled in to the left of Gohan. Videl huffed and puffed as she stepped in front of the both of them before taking her stance.

"You count your lucky stars because we just called the police!"

Sharpner's eyes widened as the teacher who hounded him outside the restroom yelled from the hall. Shen turned around and blasted her to kingdom come with an energy bolt.

Doom! VYUUUNN~Vwerrr~

"Interesting… It is you, boy."

Gohan held the wild energy in his palms, pulsating and burning his flesh to cinders.

He recalled the way Lao held the same blast from the other brother.

Gohan's teeth almost smashed into each other as he grit them to dust. Videl shot in from behind, Jewel cutting her off, fake, fake, 360 pivot turn around the outside like a basketball player. Jewel was taken completely aback, looking at her as she effortlessly got past him.

"Yah!"

WHAMM!

Jewel took a couple steps back as blood lined his teal mask. Sharpner and him made eye contact for the briefest of moments before Konkichi came out of nowhere and landed a ferocious left flying kick. Jewel's head smacked against the brick and boy was he out of it.

THLAMN!

Shen's left knee lift caved Gohan's legs out, turning them into nothing but goopy jello. The eldest son of Son Goku fell to his knees with weary eyes. The Crane Master was about to sever his neck from the body but Videl came in quick.

Wsht! BYUU~Bah-BOMMM!

A Ki blast rocked her world and sent her skyward, The Crane Master astutely aware. Sharpner next, Sharpner on the ground from a chopping right. Konkichi dashed from the right side as well, vanishing from view to appear on the other side but Shen had that covered too, slashing deep along The Fox's eyes. Luckily Konkichi always kept them closed but the furry flesh tore anyway and long streams of blood fell from his face before Shen launched him far far away with another Ki blast. The Fox hit the back wall of the school and grinded along until he could escape from the beam with a scurry into a dumpster around the corner.

Videl hit the ground with a thud and eyed Shen as he readied his slash again. As his blade sliced through the air all Shen could think was:

"I'm done losing to little fucking kids."

"Gohan!"

Sparking!

Shen's glasses whipped and fell off his face as he turned only to get smashed into the face with an explosive right knee.

"..!" Videl's voice was like an angel's. Her shrill shout in the heat of combat forced Gohan awake and it was as if he saw golden light showering her with glitters. It was as if she had angel's wings and flew down from up above just to save a mortal like him. Blood fell from his mouth as reality returned to him and the pair rolled to the outside from the blow.

"Bitch!" Shen shouted as he got up and readied his stance.

"Come on!" She screeched back like an animal.

Erasa parted through all the teachers, having to shove her way and abandon the call outs from the staff attempting to deter her.

Fsst~Wsht!

The two upheaved the ground with their dashes and clashed all around the track and field. Videl landed three brutal left hands, not because she didn't throw any rights but her willingness to jam in everything she had, threw him off three times on his right side. During their bout Shen tried his best to sneak in any slashes with his blade but only one caught on. Videl's left pigtail severed from her head and the bit of hair spread over the white grass. After the final left she came in for another right only to get caught right in the teeth.

KRAKKK!

"Ooo~"

As Shen drew his feet back he saw the jaws of the beast. Videl wore a tough face but she was hurting, point proven as she was slammed into the dirt by another kick, a left side switched from the snap kick Shen had just landed. The Crane Master dashed in and baited the retaliatory roar. Videl whiffed clean and Shen landed a fierce headbutt.

KLAKK!

"OHHH!" The crowd winced.

Shen combo'd into another left knee lift and knocked Videl on her ass. Wind and frost trickled down as slow as could be as Videl's bruises and blood became apparent to Son Gohan. His breath faltered as Shen's hidden blade shot from its holster. Gohan and Videl locked eyes.

"..."

"..."

A plume of white fell from her lips as she stared into him. He did the same, palms touching the ground, the blade moments away from tearing into her neck.

"..."

"..."

The red sparks lining Videl's frame rerouted into the ground and jumpstarted Gohan's system.

Sparking!

"Videl!"

Gohan is never late, it's just who he is. Punctuality is the true nature of a scholar.

SKLLLATT!

Blood spilled and Shen's blade holstered deep into Gohan's left hand. Videl's cheeks ran red with adrenaline, blood, bruises, scratches, and love.

"Gohan!"

Videl shot up to her feet and slammed in another banger of a knee, knocking off Shen's white plumed crane hat in the process. As The Crane Master whiplashed from the blow, Gohan tightened his 'grip' on the blade piercing all the way through his palm. The force generated by Videl's attack sent Shen packing across the field so Gohan tore off the metal limb as a parting gift. Shen hit the ground running, turning back right around as his bald head reflected the snow light.

Snapp!

Gohan took off the rest of the hand but left the blade itself in tact as blood trickled down from his new orifice. Without words, the pair dashed in and laid the smackdown on the old man, Gohan with various punches that kept him occupied as Videl capitalised on the weak spots generated by the boy next to her.

"HYAHH!" She roared, felling the man with a left roundhouse at the head, smacking him silly and forcing him onto the grass.

"..."

Unmoving. Shen didn't even twitch once.

"..."

"..."

Frosty breaths pushed into each other's faces as they stood in mostly silence. Heavy pants were the only noise until:

"Die!"

Vyuu~ KRAKK!

"Gugghh~" Shen grumbled out as Konkichi landed on his back.

WHAMM!

The Fox landed another attack and it looked like The Crane Master was done for good. Gasping, gulping bits of breath slipped out of the last two standing as Konkichi popped a seat onto Shen's back and threw off his crispy orange blazer, steam hissing from the previous attack. Erasa shook her head and leaned against the outside frame of the door leading to the track as Videl and Gohan locked eyes. The pair both just kind of collapsed right there, eyes still locked in a trance. Gohan winced and cringed as she grabbed his hand and held it tight against her chest.

"I'm…" Frosted fog. "Sorry…"

Gohan said nothing, only pulling her in close. Videl's eyebrows wiggled in worry as she saw the boy's palm twitch erratically in her grasp.

"Does it hurt?" She asked, squeezed tight against him, still cradling his hand in hers as the blood trickled down.

The sun's rays glinted over the buildings in the background and shimmered over the track and field as they stared into each other's eyes.

"Not when you're here."

"..."

The morning fog of winter parted as sky squad cars pulled up on the roof of Orange Star High School.

"This is The OSCPD! Put your hands in the air!"

Gohan could barely manage a croaky laugh which ushered the same response from her as the bitter wind and stinging lacerations finally started to tear into their one body, the crimson electricity fading into obscurity and the adrenaline pump along with it.
