Reishin Amara: I know those dragons are from the manga, not the anime, but…I don't know: maybe…or maybe I might even save them for a Duel Monsters remake of The First Task;
Doctor3027: Actually, I have a different plan for Severus: one some may not like, but, at the end of the story, this is my story and my idea, so I'll write it how I plan to write it: oh, and I hope you like the debut of a certain someone in this chapter too;
"And now he's back," whispered Jack, earning another dark shiver from Harry.
"I…I don't know for sure, Jack…but…given what happened ten years ago…I'd have to say…yes…And, now they know of you, little brother, it won't be long before he learns and…and comes looking for the Signers…and when he does, you need to be ready; because, when he does, he will not rest until you, and all Signers, like me, are dead!"
Another bolt of lightning emphasised his words.
ARC 1: LOST AND FOUND
Chapter 7: Hello Hogwarts, Harry's Here!
"Thanks for coming to the station with us, Sirius."
A sad, but also amused smile crossed Sirius' face as he accompanied his old friend, as well as his son and heir, and his new friends and distant relatives, onto Platform Nine-and-Three-Quarters, which looked as busy as ever, and filled with as much life and laughter as Sirius remembered from his own days at Hogwarts.
At the same time, he scoffed in amusement as he told Lily, "Well, no offence to your intelligence, Lily, but, if you recall, technically, I wasn't actually coming with you. I was seeing my own kid off to school, but you're welcome all the same. Personally, I find it insulting that James isn't willing to swallow his pride long enough to come and see his kid safely onto the train himself."
"If I had to guess, he's probably asking Snivellus for advice on how to be a bigoted, biased old bootlicker with potency problems as long as my arm and then some," drawled Harry, earning a light flinch from Lily, while Jack, to her surprise, laughed at his once-brother's remarks. As for Hermione, she shook her head in amused disbelief, while Harry also took a moment to take in the awe, wonder and majesty of the ancient, yet very well-kept steam engine that was going to be their mode of transport towards the school.
"Harry," said Sirius, a note of fatherly scolding lacing his words, "You promised you'd give him the benefit of the doubt at school."
"And I will, Dad," argued Harry, turning to Sirius now while he explained, "But given what Jack and Hermione spent most of yesterday and last night telling me about the civil, and neutral Head of Slytherin House's attitudes, especially towards his students, I'm not holding my breath for him being able to return the favour."
"Just…try…please, sweetheart?" asked Lily, earning a sideways look from Harry.
After only a moment, Harry looked to Jack, Hermione and Sirius as he asked, "Would you guys give us a moment, please?"
"Sure," said Jack, taking Hermione's hand, while he nodded to Sirius, "Come on, you two: might as well see if the missing member of our usual group has managed to make the train on time this year. We'll save you a seat, Harry."
"Thanks Jackie," said Harry, smiling softly before, as Jack led the other two away, Harry looked to Lily, who seemed to be wrestling with her own thoughts and feelings; she also seemed to be curious by her wayward son's choice to speak to her alone, especially since he'd have plenty of opportunities to do so at Hogwarts, seeing as how she was also a teacher, along with James.
After several moments of uneasy calm, Lily saw Harry tug at the collar of his school robes before he looked her in the eye as he told her, "I just wanted to say…thank you, Mum."
"For…for what?"
"For allowing me to be a part of Jack's life again," said Harry, brushing a lock of his hair away from his eyes, before he tapped the scar on his cheek as he explained, "And for sticking up for our friendship, which I can only promise I'll try and make it feel like brotherhood, even though he's a Potter and, as Dumbledore said, I'm now a Black. But…now we're here, can…can I ask you for something?"
"What?"
Biting his lower lip nervously, Harry gulped hard before he asked, "Can…can I have a hug…from my Mummy?"
Lily's heart tore itself into shreds as she heard those words leave her wayward son's lips, not to mention how his voice grew lighter, and innocent, as though it was the younger, more-innocent, loving and free-spirited Harry he used to be before that dark night ten years ago.
Either way, Lily didn't refuse him: crossing the space between them, she wrapped her arms around him, letting Harry rest his head against her shoulder as he returned the embrace. As she did so, Lily's eyes widened just slightly when she also heard a low, faint sound that she had heard many times over from Harry's younger brother growing up.
Sobbing.
He was crying.
"What…what's wrong, sweetie?"
"I…I'm so scared, Mummy," whispered Harry, resting his head in the crook of his Mother's neck, almost as though he was trying to hide the tears he threatened to shed as he whispered, "I…I know I…I've been putting on…on a brave face, but…but I'm scared; for me, for Jackie, for our…his friends and, yes, even for…for James."
Lily's eyes sparkled with unshed tears all her own as Harry bore his soul to her, "As…as soon as I saw Jack's mark, and…and knew the…the Dark Signers would come back, I…I felt like I was back there, in that forest, with that…that thing, the Abyss Dragon Signer. And…and I've been so scared, so helpless…I swore to myself I'd never feel that way again, but…but now…my brother…my family…they…he…I just…"
"Then let us help you," urged Lily, parting from the embrace with Harry, before she wiped tears from his eyes as she cupped his cheek with her free hand, her green eyes now fixed on his as she told him, "I know you're still upset with your…with James for what happened, sweetheart. I…I also know, from personal experience, how hard it can be to forgive and forget…but…please, if…if you really feel this way, then let us…me, Jack, Sirius, even his friends and yes, even James…let us help you fight these demons."
Here, Lily placed a hand on Harry's heart before she told him, "I…I know what it means and feels like to think you've lost your way, but…but if there's even as much as a spark of family love and care left in you, Harry Black, then…then please, let it let you trust in your extended family. I've already seen Jackie's willing to stand with you, and I imagine where he goes, that lovely girl, Hermione will go too. And, of course, you've got Sirius and I'd imagine you probably found some friends of your own in your time…"
"One or two," admitted Harry, wiping more tears from his eyes.
"Then trust in those friendships, and in the bond that I know you do still feel with your baby brother; don't let the fear win, Harry…and if you can do that, then, maybe, somewhere down the line, maybe you can even start to allow some others to help…"
"How can you be so sure?" asked Harry shakily.
"Because," replied Lily, indicating the train behind Harry as she told him, "There's something I've never told anyone, not even James and definitely not Jack, especially not after what happened lately, but, if you can keep it between us, I'll tell you, my beautiful boy."
Harry crossed his heart, earning a fond, proud smile from Lily as she hugged him again before, dropping her voice to a whisper, she told her long-lost son her secret.
"I've forgiven Severus for what he said…I have done for quite some time, in fact…that's why I don't let his hatred for James get to me anymore…"
EBUB
"You're joking?"
"Nope; heard it straight from the Pegasus' mouth," laughed Harry, having found his way onto the train and into the compartment where his small party was waiting for him, though when he told them his secret, his words earned him more than a few dumbstruck looks from Jack and Hermione as the elder of the twins explained more to them.
"This year, among other things, Hogwarts is going to be playing host to the Triwizard Tournament, which will also feature some trials involving Duel Monsters and a competition between the Champions to see which school can truly hold the mantle of Best in the Business."
"But…but why would they bring it back?" asked Hermione nervously, earning a curious look from Harry, while Jack scoffed amusingly as Hermione told them, "I've read about the Tournament in the past and, while Duel Monsters became a thing for wizards over the past couple of decades, it still doesn't change the fact that the Triwizard Tournament is as dangerous a contest as it can get for teenage wizards. So, why would they bring it back after so many years of being declared off-limits and forbidden?"
"Apparently," replied Harry, idly shuffling one of his many decks as he explained, "According to what Dad told me about it, the whole idea was the genius brainchild of some toadying little gambler in the Ministry, who intends to use the odds to work in his favour. If I had to guess, the goblins are also backing it, because this idiot owes them a lot of gold and…well, I don't have to tell you guys how strict goblins are…"
"So, he's chumming the waters to save his own skin?"
"Given he's a member of our Ministry, are you honestly surprised, Jackie?" asked Harry, earning a dumbfounded look from Jack, before he closed his mouth and shrugged, nodding in agreement with Harry's argument.
"So…who'd want to enter something so dangerous?" asked Hermione.
"I'd bet my rarest cards and half my trust vault that your friend is on that list, Hermione," argued Harry, earning a worried look from Jack, while Hermione scoffed as she shook her head.
"His brothers too, probably," added Jack, earning a raised eyebrow from Harry. "Fred and George Weasley: they like to think of themselves as the New Marauders, but, surprise-surprise, they're never in too big of a hurry to cross swords, or cards, with me or…or Dad. At the same time, they love rocking the boat and trying to prove that the name of Weasley isn't all about the infamy that comes with it over the past century or so; therefore, if they hear of a dangerous contest, with a chance to be Champion of Champions, they'll be planning ways to get in…just for the thrill."
"And yet, if you told them about our other problem, Jack, they'd probably want in on that too," argued Harry, earning nods of agreement from Jack and Hermione, while Harry continued, "But, from what you've said, they don't seem to be the sort who commit to anything. In fact, if they're anything like the Marauders, not that I like the fact I'm giving the guy props, but I'd guess they're probably the Padfoot and Prongs of the gang; willing to jump in at the deep end and get their feet wet, but, at the same time, they delight in pranking, or rather, bullying others for their own amusement and just so everyone can have a good, long laugh at the class clowns."
"But as soon as trouble rears it's head, they'd want to be in on the ground floor," said Jack, earning a nod from Harry.
"Basically, and when you bring up their reputations, they'd probably say something like oh, but we were only kidding around; it was just a joke; come on, let us in. So, in other words, your friend isn't the only one who prefers the glory if he can be in on it at the same time."
"Let us deal with Ron, Harry," said Jack, while Hermione also seemed to follow that train of thought, judging by the stern air she showed as she nodded in agreement with Jack's suggestion. "You just focus on settling in at school and, remember, you don't have to kowtow to Dad's wishes either, especially since there's something about the old hat that not many people know."
"What's that?" asked Harry.
Smiling slyly, Jack tapped his nose before he leaned in close, causing Harry and Hermione to do the same, before the younger twin whispered his own secret to his brother and friend.
"If you want to choose where you go, and your will is great enough, the hat will listen…and I'm speaking from experience as, originally, when I was sorted all those years ago…"
"It was only three years ago, Jack," scoffed Hermione, earning a low chuckle from Harry, before he indicated for Jack to go on.
So, he did.
"Fine, three years ago, when I was being sorted, the hat insisted that I could have done well as a member of Slytherin House!"
EBUB
"Anything off the trolley, dears?"
"No thanks, Doreen," said Jack, while Harry and Hermione also replied in the negative, earning the Gryffindor-sorted Potter a warm smile from the trolley lady, before she rolled her eyes.
"Jack Potter…congratulations on your win last year; also, since you aren't aware yet, I suppose I should tell you that the Duel Carriage is now open for you and your peers, but please keep the mess to a minimum if you can."
"Duel Carriage?" asked Harry, once the lady was gone.
"It's a recent addition to the Express," said Hermione, earning another curious look from Harry as she told him, "It used to be a dining cart that was, apparently, hoarded by the Slytherins year-in and year-out, but after Duelling took off as a class and a hobby for people to enjoy, the Board and Professor Dumbledore, as well as an anonymous donor…"
"Dad," said Jack, earning a scoff from Harry, while Hermione continued, as though she hadn't heard him.
"…had it outfitted and refurbished into a sort of mobile duel arena, which is also used as a socialising spot by most students. Last year, Jack and Ronald went down there and caused trouble in a clash with some Slytherins…"
"Let me guess; he claimed they were cheating?" asked Harry, earning a guilty look and a nod from Jack. "I'd hate to see his deck if every move that someone other than him makes is seen as nothing, but cheating. I mean, always whining, making a scene and thinking himself the best thing since sliced bread the rest of the time, while hogging the glory whenever he gets the chance; do you know what? He reminds me of this American duellist who couldn't accept he was beaten by the man who created Duel Monsters, just cause the guy asked a kid from the crowd to take over."
Jack and Hermione couldn't resist laughing.
As Harry joined in, however, the laughter died down just as quickly when the door to their compartment was flung open, revealing the topic of their conversation, "There you are, Jack! Hey, what are you doing with this cheating, slimy snake? Don't you know the Carriage has been opened?"
"I'm happy spending the ride with my brother, Ron, thank you very much," argued Jack, earning a scowl from the redhead.
"Yeah, but you're the Boy-Who-Lived; the Grand Champion. You need to defend your title, unless you want some Death Eater ponce like Malfoy to claim you're afraid."
"Oh, I'm the one who is afraid?" asked Jack, looking up to the redhead with amusement and curiosity as he asked, "Which one of us was all too happy to step into the arena against your brothers when they got permission to duel us in a Tag Match during last year's Grand Championship? And which one suddenly got a bad case of the shits and spent most of that duel in the loo, forcing my own Dad, and Dumbledore, to offer me the chance to take on the Demons of Gryffindor alone, but with more life points?"
"Hey, I told you: I was poisoned by their sweets!"
"And are these the same sweets that they admitted were prototypes for their hopeful pranking business, which weren't even ready, let alone fit for any consumption?" asked Jack, earning a snigger from Harry, which only made Ron's face darken.
"What are you laughing at, you cheat?"
"How about you, Mister Broken Record?" asked Harry, earning an outraged look from the redhead, while Harry went on. "Also, not that you were missed, but I'm sure I'm not the only one wondering why you ran away home after Jack's Dad got his marching orders from the Headmaster?"
"At least I'm not scared of a piece of card!"
"Oh, really?" asked Harry, lifting a card from his deck before he spun it around to face Ron, "Not even this card?"
Ron screamed like a girl and ran away, earning a scoff from Harry, while Hermione frowned, "Which card is that, Harry?"
Smiling in response, Harry turned it around, revealing a large, brown spider monster.
"Jirai Gumo," said Jack, scoffing in disbelief as he added, "Yep, that'd do it; of course, I wonder if Ron even knows that the big, scary bug has a downside that could cost its player the duel?"
"Judging by how he's not in too much of a hurry to come back, I'd say probably not," said Harry, sliding the card back into his deck before he resumed shuffling, even as he added, "By the way, if you want to go and see your friends, Jack, I won't mind."
"Nah," laughed Jack, rubbing the back of his head as he explained, "The last thing I need is for me to walk in there and everyone does to me what half the world was willing to do to Yugi when he became the King of Games: I get enough hero-worshipping annoyances from people trying to get close to the Boy-Who-Lived."
"Imagine how they'd react if they knew the truth of your Mark," laughed Harry, earning a groan from Jack.
"Thanks Harry, I really needed that nightmare: Jack Potter, the world's Chosen One who is our only hope because Fate says so…what next? Saying I have to die for the Greater Good?"
"Not if I can help it, little brother," argued Harry, his eyes downcast, even as he growled under his breath.
"Not if I can help it!"
EBUB
"Oh great! On top of everything else, now it's raining!"
"Well, a little rain never hurt anybody," argued Harry, stepping off the train, onto the platform at Hogsmeade Station.
"Yeah, but a lot can kill you," retorted Jack, even as he followed his brother and best friend off the train; as he did so, however, Jack's eyes widened when Harry drew his wand and held it up to the air, which was the cue for a large, semi-transparent umbrella to form from the end of his wand.
What made it even more-surprising, at least Jack thought so, was the fact that the umbrella might as well have been more like a parasol or the roof of a gazebo, with how large Harry seemed to be able to make it, easily shielding himself, as well as Jack and a relieved-looking Hermione from the wrath of the Scottish deluge.
"Wow!" gasped Jack, earning a smile from Harry.
"I never knew you knew this spell, Harry," argued Hermione, earning a laugh from her new friend.
Before Harry could make a retort, however, his head snapped around, while Jack saw his long-lost brother's eyes light up with delight, wonder, awe and full-blown excitement and positive feelings when a new voice cut through his attempted response to Hermione's remark.
"Oh, there's quite a lot you don't know about the great Hadrian Regulus Black, Hermione Granger! Hello Jackson Potter; you're looking…normal."
"Hi Luna," chorused the two Gryffindors, while Harry turned to see a blonde-haired girl, whom was dressed in Ravenclaw-marked robes, slip her way past the crowd of grumbling students, until she stood perfectly-poised next to Harry, who offered her his arm without needing to be told to do otherwise, much to Jack's surprise.
Hermione, on the other hand, looked dumbfounded, if not amazed, at how Harry seemed all-too happy to let this newcomer get so close to him, even though she might as well be a stranger, "Luna! I know you're a bit…different, but…surely it's better to ask permission to hold someone's hand or arm like that, isn't it?"
"But why would I do that for my betrothed, Hermione?" asked Luna, earning another dumbfounded look from Hermione, while Jack let out a soft laugh as he looked to a seemingly-content Harry.
"Betrothed, huh?"
"Like she said," replied Harry, leading the way away from the train and over to the carriages that would take the students – well, the elder ones, at least – up to Hogwarts.
"There's quite a lot you don't know about me, little brother…but, on the other hand, it is nice to see you looking so well, Luna-girl; when those Dark Signers attacked…"
"Papa Padfoot got me away safe and clear, beloved," replied Luna, snuggling into Harry's side as she explained, "But by the time we thought on where you were, the Betrayer and his poor, unfortunate souls of a family had gotten to you. I'm just sorry…"
"Why?" asked Harry, reaching the carriage, where he helped Luna take her seat, though once all four students were on the carriage, Hermione and Jack both looked on in disbelief as Luna took Harry's head and lay it in her lap, where she began rubbing her fingers through his slightly-damp hair, as she looked down at him.
"I swore you would never have to face the Demon again without me there to support you, dear heart, but then…the Betrayer…"
"Got what he deserved, my sweet moonbeam," argued Harry, kissing Luna's fingers softly before he added, "Just like all my enemies do…don't worry; your heart is still shining as brightly as your light, my sweet. And soon, we'll be shining brightly together, side-by-side, as is our destiny."
"The Brightest Day, the Blackest Light," laughed Luna, earning a soft chuckle from Harry before he sat up.
"That reminds me; I know it's a little late, but…here; happy birthday, my Luna."
From inside his robe, Harry handed Luna a wrapped parcel, earning a squeal of delight from the blonde as she opened the box; when she saw what was inside, she let out a cry of delight before she kissed Harry firmly on his lips, much to Jack and Hermione's amusement.
"Oh, thank you, beloved; it's just what I was looking for…can I experiment with it?"
"Maybe later," said Harry, while Jack and Hermione then saw Luna pulling a Duel Monster's Card from inside the box, but who or what it was, that they couldn't make out.
"I'll hold you to that, beloved."
"I know."
Neither Gryffindor knew what to say in response to what they were seeing.
Jack, however, did feel a little happier knowing that his brother had such a…unique, but also-instantly lovable soul to act as the Light to his Dark.
Maybe Harry would be all right, after all…
He hoped!
EBUB
"Ahh…home sweet home!"
"Depends on your definition of home, Luna-girl," argued Harry, as he led a calm-looking Luna into the Hogwarts Great Hall, not even stopping to greet Professor McGonagall, who walked past the elder students with a curt nod and a troubled look, undoubtedly because of the storm outside.
She also didn't say anything when Harry walked into the hall with his sibling and friends, though, when Harry stepped into the hall, his eyes looked straight ahead, mostly because of the fact that one of, if not the very first face he saw in the hall was the dead-last one he wanted to see at Hogwarts, at least until it became absolutely necessary.
James Potter, Professor of Duelling, Head of Gryffindor and Jack's Father, was standing next to the stool where the Hogwarts Sorting Hat resided, his eyes shining with mirth and malice, while he wore a smile that could have put both the Grinch and the Cheshire Cat to shame as he locked eyes with his wayward son.
"Ahh…Black!" sneered James, earning a scoff from Harry.
"He actually clenched his teeth like Professor Snape when he said that," muttered the Black Scion, looking once to Luna before he added, "Go and sit in your seat, Luna-girl; this won't take long."
"Hurry back, dear heart," replied Luna, kissing Harry on his cheek, much to the surprise of the other elder students who'd accompanied them into the hall, many of whom, Harry noticed, had more than a fair amount of rain and storm damage drizzling down off of their heads, bodies, robes and even their fingers and feet.
'So…what? Nobody knew a good repelling charm for the rain, or how to cast the umbrella spell?' wondered the Black Scion, before he stepped forwards, noticing Jack and Hermione giving him a wary, but also hopeful look, even as Harry reached James.
"Professor Potter!" spat Harry, deciding to give James a taste of his own medicine as he too clenched his teeth as tightly as they'd go, before he spat the name out through those clenched teeth, keeping them clenched as he asked, "What can I do for such a…noble, civil and professional man such as you?"
A few titters rose up from those who could hear him, including Luna and, to James' rage and disbelief, even Jack; out of the corner of his eye, Harry also noticed the original clenched-teeth Professor – one Severus Snape – smirking behind James' back, almost as though the idea of his prodigal son spitting in his face, a la Snape, was hilarious to the double agent.
James, meanwhile, kept his eyes on Harry as he sneered, "Even though we know where you are going, the Headmaster has insisted you be sorted like any other normal student, so…step forth: Harry James…"
"Hadrian Regulus Black!" exclaimed Dumbledore himself, much to Harry's surprise, before that surprise turned into amusement as Harry lifted a hand and mockingly patted James' cheek.
"My friends and my family get to call me Harry, Professor…"
James' left eye twitched in annoyance, while Harry lifted the hat and sat down on the stool; as he then lowered the hat, however, James' eyes widened when the Sorting Hat's voice echoed through the Great Hall.
"RAVENCLAW!"
"WHAT? NO! HE BELONGS IN GRYFFINDOR! HE GAVE HIS WORD!"
"That's as may be, Professor," drawled Harry, even as his robes gained a blue trim and an Eagle mascot Crest, before he sighed softly as he removed the hat from his head, keeping his eyes fixed on James as he shrugged ruefully.
"But, no matter what I may or may not have promised, at the end of the day, if the Hogwarts Sorting Hat, voice of the Four Founders and figurehead of their greatness; if he believes my destiny lays on the Path of the Eagle, then…so be it. Shame, though; I was so looking forwards to having a two-faced, she-devil of a hypocritical coward for a Head of House…"
Tossing the hat to James without a care in the world, Harry gave a two-fingered salute before he winked in a very Sirius-like manner;
"I guess an honourable soul who is on very good terms with the only other Potter, apart from Jack, I actually like will have to do…oh well; at least I'm in the same House as my betrothed."
As Harry had honestly expected, the fact that a Black had a betrothed was as big news that day as the same announcement made soon after the Sorting Feast by Dumbledore himself.
Although, even through Dumbledore's explanations about the Tournament, including the impending arrival of delegates from Beauxbatons and Durmstrang – as well as the introduction of the new Defence Against the Dark Arts Professor, whom Harry wasn't surprised to see was none other than Sirius himself, though James was shocked and enraged that he hadn't been informed of this – the emerald-eyed scion wore a smile like the cat that ate the canary and had the rest of the aviary for dessert.
A smile he kept fixed on the scowling, disbelieving face of James Potter, sending him one simple message with that smile;
'Round Two…I win!'
And the game was only just beginning too…

AN: Luna
So, I hope you enjoyed the introduction of our favourite blonde, including her revelation of being Harry's betrothed.
Given what we know about Harry, I think this will certainly keep people from seeing the demon in him before it's too late.
Oh, and speaking of said demon, don't worry: he'll return soon enough.
Now Harry's at Hogwarts, in the words of Jim Carey, the real game begins!
As for Luna's deck, I have a fun theme in mind that's just SO Luna that anything else would be wrong or weak, so keep reading to find out what my plan is.
AN2: Arcs
Also, in case anyone's wondering, at the moment, my plan for the 'arcs' of the story is as follows:
ARC 1: Harry's return
ARC 2: The Tournament (in its entirety, so all three tasks and the Ball, as well as the end of year danger)
ARC 3: The Aftermath and What Happens Next
If I plan on any other arcs or change the setup, I'll be sure to point it out, but, just in case you were wondering about lengths, here is the basic idea, so enjoy and, to all who've reviewed and enjoyed this story, hope that doesn't stop.
