Kili wasn't sure what to do. Thorin had asked him and Fili to scout the area when they reached the top of Ravenhill. Fili went on ahead when they got to some tunnels in a tower. Hearing a strange noise, he was told to stay and search the lower levels, but his brother had been gone for a while now. Too long for comfort and a sense of dread started to settle over him. Quietly he walked towards an opening in the tunnel he was searching. Ravenhill was a maze of tunnels and stairs, Fili could be anywhere. They should not have separated and as he thought about it, they should not have separated from Thorin and Dwalin. Coming to the end of the tunnel he looked forward and saw his uncle and friend but they weren't alone. Bilbo, somehow, at some point had shown up. That Hobbit was truly amazing at appearing out of nowhere. Kili wished he knew how to read lips. He could see the anxious look on his uncle's face, on all of their faces. He needed to find his brother quickly and head back. The look on all three faces did not bode well. Kili was about to turn when he heard movement from above. Looking up his face went white. There was his brother, being held over the top ledge by Azog. The pale orc did not see him below, his gaze directly aimed towards Thorin. Kili felt utterly hopeless. There was no possible way for him to help his brother.

Movement to the left caught his gaze. He wasn't sure what it was. It moved very softly and in the shadows, out of Azog's view. Only at the last moment did Kili realized it was that blonde elf who hounded Tauriel. What was his name? Legolis or something like that. His attention returned back to his brother as Azog declared that Fili would "die first and then the brother." A wave of desperation crashed into Kili as he watched Azog lift the blade in his arm to strike down his kin. Then out of the blew an arrow flew into the Orcs arm holding Fili. Everything seemed to happen in slow motion. Both him and his uncle cried out as Fili dropped from the orc. The blade of Azog missed its intended mark but still pierced through Fili's side. Fili screamed out in pain not once but twice as the blonde elf pushed him midair onto a small ledge. The sound of them landing did not sound pleasant either. Something for sure had probably broke. Kili yelled again,

"Fili… FILI!" The elf yelled back down.

"He's ok. I will make sure he stays safe, but I need your help," Kili wasn't sure what the elf would want but his heart sank as he continued with his request, "I'm worried about Tauriel. We came with Bilbo to help warn you all. Bolg is coming with another army. She's been gone far too long. She went towards the south end looking for you"

Kili didn't even take the time to respond. He began to run up the stairs close to him, taking out scout orcs along the way. He paused to shoot an arrow towards an orc that was trying to reach the elf and his brother. Satisfied his brother was indeed safe he turned to continue up the stairs of the tower. Once on top he looked around to survey the area. Thorin, he saw, went to peruse Azog while Dwalin and Bilbo stayed behind to fend off a group of goblins. Frowning he saw a goblin about to take down his hobbit friend. Quickly he let loose another arrow and heard a satisfying "thunk" as it lodged into the goblins head. The feeling quickly faded as he looked over towards his uncle. He was stuck on the ice and saw that Azog was sending a hoard of orcs towards him. Kili went to pull another arrow, then becoming aware that he only had three left. Before he could even make to shoot, an arrow that was not his own went soaring into the air hitting the orc closet to his uncle. The blonde elf had moved to a high perch and continued shooting down the approaching orcs. Relieved his uncle had help as well Kili looked over the ruins of Ravenhill. In the distance he could see the eagles starting to appear on the horizon. Elated they were close to help fight the large army of orcs that laid before his eyes. Looking over to the south side he peered in every crevasse he could find to see a flash of red. Near a clearing by a cliff he saw it. Long flowing red hair but the relief was quickly replaced by dread and his heart dropped in desperation once again.

Tauriel felt frustrated beyond belief. Struggling with the bonds that held her, she berated herself for getting captured so easily. Well it wasn't easy, she took down several orcs in the process, but she was quickly overwhelmed and had the bruises to show for the kicks and hits she got from the two very large orcs now guarding her. She wasn't sure why they decided to capture her but here she was gagged, bound and very sore. After a few moments a third orc appeared. Much larger than the other two. Her eyes widened as she realized it was the orc named Bolg, spawn of Azog the Defiler. He looked at her in disgusted contempt then walked over. As he approached he drew his right arm back and then swung hard at her, hitting her across the left of her face. The blow brought her to her knees on the jagged rocks below.

Tauriel tried not to show pain in her face as involuntary tears streamed down her cheeks. She attempted to glare back but the orcs attention was now on each other. Bolg turned to one of the orcs to mutter something in black speech, probably trying to decide what they wanted to use her for. She made out Thranduils name and she made out dwarf as well. Was she to be their bait? She would rather just be killed then be used as a pawn. She would be killed in the end anyway. Looking around she saw her beloved daggers far off to the side. There was no way she could get over there to free herself. Desperation started to set in until out of nowhere an arrow flew into one the orcs neck still holding her captive. Eyes wide, she turned to see the most wonderful site ever. Screaming Kili's name through her gag she watched as he went to shoot another arrow closer to where she kneeled. Confused as to why he would be shooting so close to her, she looked up to see that Bolg had approached her once more.

The large orc went to raise his spear only to have Kili's next arrow pierce through his hand. Bolg roared out in pain, immediately dropping the spear by her side instead of it going through her. Another arrow came whizzing by to hit the last orc in between the eyes. Bolg, now truly angry, reached his free hand back and with all his might stroke Tauriel hard against the left side her face once more. The blow sent her backwards, the hit so hard the gag fell from her mouth, and she winced from the impact still trying to deny any satisfaction that the orc had hurt her. She heard Kili yell her name and saw him start to run her way. She could not find her voice to answer but knew he would not get there before Bolgs next attack.

The smile that quickly appeared on her face was more for Bolgs fate when Legolas appeared suddenly around a corner. He got to Tauriel before Bolg could fully pick up his spear and attack her once more. Legolas blocked a strike towards him and taunted at the orc.

"Free Tauriel, I will take care of him!" Legolas yelled to Kili. Intent to finish his fight with the orc from several nights ago in Lake Town. Legolas taunts worked as Bolg turned his rage towards the blonde elf. Tauriel had faith in her friend and the outcome as they disappeared on a tower that had fallen. A loud screech from behind brought her back to the current problem at hand, she was still bound and now she saw another couple of orc's from Bolg's army come towards her and Kili. He barely had time to put himself in front of her before they attacked. She watched as he quickly beheaded one of the orcs but, in the process, get stabbed in the leg. The very spot where the mourgul blade had struck. She heard him suck in a breath, say something in Khulzdul that probably wasn't very nice, and then quickly fend off the next swipe of the orc's blow.

Looking at Tauriel, then at her blades, then back to her once more, she realized he was trying to find a way to at least get them to her. She also saw three more orcs heading their way and she knew, as probably did Kili, there we no way he could fend them all off alone. Not with him being injured. He worked to engage the current orc away from her. Giving her time to get her bound hands moved from the back of her body to the front. One of the few tricks she was grateful to have learned from Thranduil himself. By the time she got her hands to the front, Kili had rolled over to where her daggers were laying. Quickly he grabbed them to throw her way but just after he tossed them the orc caught up, driving his sword into Kili's shoulder. Kili hissed in pain and barely managed to block off another blow but the momentum caused him to fall backwards hitting the boulder hard behind him. Tauriel finally found her voice as she screamed.

"Kili!"

Without thinking Tauriel took one of her daggers in both hands and with deadly precision threw it into the neck of the orc before he could hurt her Kili. That thought gave her a pause. "Her Kili?" did she really just think that? Using her other dagger, she quickly freed her hands and then ran over to where Kili lay motionless. Relieved he was still breathing, she retrieved her other blade and prepared for the next coming orcs. While there were only three, she was not in the best of shape to easily engage with them all. She would really have to plan her attacks carefully. Tauriel was able to draw two of them away from Kili towards the cliff by quickly beheading the first of the three. While she managed to keep them away from Kili, it also made the other two mad.

"How sweet that you care for each other. No worries, you both will join your scum of a friend soon." She taunted. Both orcs lunged at her in sync with each other. Tauriel blocked a blow from the one to her right and then had to bend backwards to avoid a dagger to her neck from the one on her left. As she bent backwards she managed to drive her own dagger into the thigh of the orc on her left bringing him down to his knees. That allowed her clean access to his side and she drove her other dagger deep in to finish him off. With no time to pull her daggers out, Tauriel made to roll out of the remaining orcs next blow. Without her weapons it was becoming harder to hold off the last orc. He was definitely bigger than the other two and that much stronger. She ducked a swipe from his axe only for him to knock her backwards hard. She felt the wetness of blood rundown her forehead. Her poor face was going to be bruised for weeks, if she survived this at least.

Not sure what to do, Tauriel quickly looked behind her to see only the edge of the cliff. Below her jagged rocks lay to the left and a set of stairs to the right that Kili must have used to come find her. It was risky plan that formed in her head, but it was the only plan she was left with. As the menacing orc approached her, he snarled at her with broken common tongue language, "I look forward to chopping up that dwarf after I'm done with you". That was enough to make Tauriel gather all remaining strength she had. She dodged his next blow, grabbed him around the neck, and using a large boulder nearby pushed both of them off the cliff. Her risky moved paid off, mostly.

The orc went tumbling down the jagged rocks while she managed to land on the stairs. However, she landed further down than she would have liked, hard on her right side and heard a sickening crunch come from her shoulder and collar. The pain was immense but there was nothing for it. Too slow for her liking, Tauriel crawled back up the stairs to the top. She then crawled her way over towards the orc that still had her daggers imbedded in him. Pulling them out, she hissed in pain. Something was definitely broken. Looking over at Kili who was still out cold, she made her way towards him. Retrieving his sword on the way she hoped no more orcs would come. If they did she would at least die beside Kili. She kept constant vigil until she saw an eagle head their way. Only then did she allow herself to pass out from exhaustion.
