The Protector could feel the pain in her little ones as she held them close in their nest. She would have to go get things to take away that hurt soon. She hated leaving their nest, going so far away from her vulnerable little ones to get the things that they needed. Yet everything else seemed too close.
Looking over to the door she knew that this place was the best she could do. The bale should be here. Other Protectors to get the things they need and to fight the enemy so she could just tend to the little ones. Holding the little ones closer she rocked and cooed to them as she pushed that thought away, she just had to keep waiting for their bale. She could keep everything going until then, she had to.
Leonardo Hamato leaned on his crutch as he looked at the map on the table in front of him. He and his brothers had been keeping an eye on robberies to find more Foot Clan activities. Things had quieted down since Karai had taken over the Clan and tried to remake the old Hamato Clan Sensi had known. But there were still bits of the Foot around the world yet to surrender to the new regime.
This latest string of robberies near an abandoned district seemed different than normal. They never went more than a mile from the dock front, but unlike the Foot it was not weapons or technology that was stolen. Not even a dime of cash was ever taken either. No one had ever seen any sign of the robber, no camera had caught any glimpse. If there hadn't been items missing no one would have known the robber was there in the first place and none of that was the Foot Clan's style.
No, this was someone different, someone who was hurt judging by the amount of medical supplies that were being stolen. But more worrying was that was, almost all of the medical supplies were things for children younger than ten. There was even formula for toddlers being taken, as well as bottles.
This robber was someone in deep trouble and no other way of getting help. And for Leo all signs pointed to one thing, but he was waiting for Raph to get back from patrol of the area with more information before letting himself believe it. His phone rang and his red brother only said one word, "Mutant." Closing his eyes Leo let out a breath, of course.
