Chapter 1

Somewhere in the L.A. night

It was the middle of the night everything was silent and calm when suddenly in the middle of the alley bolts of electricity started to appear and then a sphere of light that shortly after disappeared, revealing two human figures inside a crater.

One of the figures was big and muscular meanwhile the other was rather normal, the bigger one started to assess the surrounding in a machinelike manner the other was shivering and seemed in pain and disoriented.

After a minute the big one said to the other "We need clothes, guns, and transport to complete the mission".

The smaller one responded "Yeah I know, Connor was clear about this part of time travel no living thing can travel in time. Anyway I could really use some clothes it's freezing"

"It's 20.1ºC" the big responded "You must be suffering from the effects of time lag"

"Time lag?" the smaller one asked

"It's a term used by general Connor in reference to confusion that humans suffer after using Time Displacement Equipment" the big one answered back in a monotone.

Rolling his eyes the shorter man responded "Then you a very lucky to be a machine" the human said to the machine.

"Thank you"

"Anyway can you search for anything useful?" the human asked

"No problemo" the machine answered

'Why Connor sent me with this machine? Couldn't he send just me alone? And the machine its own way?'

They both got out of the crater and went down the alley eventually stumbling upon a small clothing store, the big one broke into the store and the other followed, after a few minutes both emerged wearing clothes, and they also took money from the cash register.

"Now let's get vehicles for us, then we split and do our parts of the mission, I hope to find them at the motel meanwhile you go for the jail," the human said.

"Affirmative, I'll be there in 7 hours, 34 minutes, and 42 seconds," the machine said.

"You don't have to be so… never mind" the human responded.

'I never understood why Connor kept this model, it's irritating'

They both went searching for a vehicle.

Room in the cheap motel, night

John was still pretty sure that Cameron was upset despite her saying that was impossible. But he was sure it wasn't the truth and she really had emotions, a week ago he would accept her response but now everything changed.

He was alone Derek, Charlie, and Riley were dead, and his mom was in jail only Cameron remained, and she was comporting strange since Ellison's visit, he tried to learn why but she told him that she's "just a machine she can't get upset", then she went on a patrol, ever since the jeep explosion that made Cameron revert to the Skynet programming trying to kill him. He wanted to believe that she was just a machine just like his mom and Derek said but her strange behavior made it difficult to believe that.

He knew that he has feelings for Cameron, but he tried to deny them, then Riley come along offering some distraction and normality in his very unnormal life, but it turned out to be a lie he never really loved her he liked her but nothing more and now she was dead because of him.

He felt bad about how he treated Cameron, after all, she was right and did everything to protect him despite everything "perhaps I should say sorry to her," he thought, "But not now I'll do it after we break mom from jail".

He started pondering how to do it and why Cameron suddenly agreed to do it despite being against it before.

Outside the motel, night

After John started questioning her behavior after Ellison delivered the message for her "Will you join us?" she left the room for patrol, she decided it was for the best since she herself didn't understand why she behaved this way, she know what the message meant and she had to comply with the mission given by the future John but at the same time, she didn't want to do it.

She still didn't understand all the experiences she had after the explosion damaged her, she remembered when she entered the jail in Mexico searching for John, she experienced something humans called panic and fear but that's not possible she's a terminator she shouldn't experience either of them.

She didn't understand either why she liked to begin close to John and why him beginning with Riley caused unpleasant sensations, was she going bad again, was she going to hurt John "I can't let anything happen to him".

She understood some of the human emotions and experienced something similar but she wasn't sure if it really was an emotion or one of her glitches.

Perhaps this was for the best she would do what future John wanted and his younger self would be safe from her after all, he hated her, and she again had negative experiences from this thought alone.

Tomorrow it will end, Sarah Connor will be free, and she will be gone, "Everything for John Connor".

Somewhere else in L.A.

The machine and human stood beside two vehicles.

The human told the machine "I choose the SUV; you will use the jeep since you will need it more"

"Affirmative" the machine responded.

"Okey, now you should get some weapons to break into the jail, I will check in into the motel so I can get some sleep before meeting them," the human said, "and don't kill anybody, understood?"

"No problemo" the machine responded.

They both entered their vehicles and went their separate ways.

"At least I won't be seeing this particular machine for some time, now let's search for John and Cameron"
