Earth-Old Russia

Flying through the field, a single Ghost scanned the surrounding area looking for something or in this case someone. She scanned many bones and ashes, but they didn't seem to be what she was looking for. She heard several screams from what could confused as sick wolves, but in truth were actually Fallen of the House of Devils. Getting frightened she took one more scan of a hill and stopped in her metaphorical tracks. Finding who she was looking for the Ghost expanded her shell and spoke.

"There you are," just before there was a blinding flash of light.

What stood before her was a young woman with blonde hair in some sort of armor. She was dizzy and had yet to open her eyes to the world. The girl heard something in front of her telling her constantly to have her "eyes up."

Opening her eyes, she saw the ghost and when said ghost saw her eyes were open, she spoke to her.

"Your alive! You don't know how long I've been looking for you!"

She looked at her knuckles, cracking them slowly. They felt like they hadn't been used in years! Looking around she saw a lot of empty vehicles and a single part of a very big bridge that looked ridiculously unstable. There was even an old building that looked like it would collapse at the slightest touch.

"What… What are you?" She asked the little light which answered. "I'm a Ghost. Actually, I'm your ghost now. And you, well you've been dead a long time."

This made the girl go full stop. She began to simply stand there for a whole minute or two looking at the Ghost before she began to scream uncontrollably for a while until her ghost tried to stop her.

"Stop yelling please!"

"HOW AM I ALIVE?! HOW DID I DIE!? WHAT IS EVEN GOING ON HERE?!" She yelled at the top of her lungs searching for answers from her new Ghost.

Sighing the Ghost replied, "Look I know this is scary, but we need to get out of here right now, this is Fallen territory and if we don't leave now you might stay dead. We need to find a ship and get to the tower; we'll be safe there okay?"

This made the girl tense, but she took a deep breath and nodded that she was ready to get somewhere safe.

Suddenly the Ghost vanished, and this had made the girl even more scarred, "Don't worry I'm still with you," The ghost said in the girl's HEAD of all places.

"I've marked the location of the nearest ship in our location to your hub, put on your helmet and I'll be able to guide you there."

Looking around the girl saw an old looking helmet and put it on. She saw a little diamond blinking in a certain direction, she assumed that might be the hub or whatever it was her Ghost was talking about.

Walking into the building, the young girl made her way up the stairs into a small hallway but stopped when she saw something very large crawl up the pies in the walls.

"Uhm, yeah just ignore that. Probably nothing. He he he." Chuckled, hoping to give her Guardian some confidence and failing to do so.

Running up the next set of stairs the girl stopped when the entire building was nothing but darkness without a single light in sight.

Popping back into existence, the ghost was being her guardian's own light, "Well this won't do at all," She floated up into the celling. "Let me see if I can find a light switch."

Just standing still in the dark made the poor girl scared. She hopped the Ghost would return to her soon, she didn't like being along.

Suddenly the lights did come on, but the girl was even more scared than before. Why? That was because she saw a lot of giant insects and machines move and make their way towards her!

"We need to run. NOW!"

"YOU DON'T HAVE TO TELL ME TWICE!" Screamed the girl as she ran only to be blocked by a small holed fence that she tried to move out of her way, only for her ghost to open it up for her. She then notices a strange object on a crate in front of her.

"Take this, it'll help us take down these guys."

"Um… OK?" The girl grabbed the device and she somehow knew what it was, a gun. More specifically a Khvostov 7G-0X assault rifle. She pulled out the magazine to check for bullets and luckily for her there were plenty, though she wasn't sure how she even knew to check there for anything. Maybe her ghost would tell her, if she made it out of here alive that is.

Shaking her head, she focused on the task as hand. Reloading the gun, she headed out towards her foes when she saw a shadow move and stopped right then and there. She was frightened but she took a deep breath and relaxed herself. Moving slowly forwards she turned to the side of a hallway she was in and saw nothing. Confused she moved in slowly until Fallen jumped out and scared her! She began to fire randomly and hitting both Fallen at the same time. When the gunfire stopped, she had looked at her handiwork, but she wasn't sure how to fell.

"Nice going! Those are Fallen, enemies of humanity. They won't give a second thought about killing you so be prepared to fight when you see those guys!" Her ghost reassured her, but honestly the Girl didn't think that would help her conscience that much.

Fighting through the building, the Guardian came out into a passing with some small rundown buildings and a tank of all things. Then out of nowhere a flare shot up into the sky surprising the both of them. After a few seconds a ship appeared out from the sky through a tear in the universe with several smaller ships deploying more fallen.

"Fallen ships? This close to the surface? Move!" Her ghost warned her.

Making haste she dispatched the newly dispatched fallen with ease and mad her way through a much smaller building. There she was able to see what looked like a kind of ship strung up by an assortment of cables and wires, but in her way was even more Fallen and one very large one.

"…I can't do this." Says the girl as she finds a place to hide and sits down in a fetal position and throwing her helmet on the floor holding her head. Sensing something wrong her Ghost appears again and tries to talk with her.

"Hey, what's wrong?"

"What's wrong? There are scores of monsters out there ready to kill me and play with my corpse, and you're asking what's wrong? Fine! I'm scared okay!" She says as she gets up to yell and glare at her ghost for asking the stupidest question at the current time.

"…Look, I know you're scared but you have the power to do great things. To be braver than anyone that ever was! To stop evils no one else can! I won't lie there will some dark times in your new life, but I believe in you. You can beat these guys. You can get us home. You can help people. You can be a true Guardian."

Those words made the girl shocked and very happy. A single tear went down her face as she had the largest smile imaginable. Without warning she hugged her Ghost in a huge hug. This surprised the Ghost, but she welcomed it with open arms… or whatever it is Ghost's technically have for arms anyway, maybe stubs?

Relinquishing her Ghost from her embrace it asked, "You ready?" Even if she already knew the answer.

Nodding the girl grabbed her helmet and ran straight for the Fallen. Suddenly she felt a strange surge in her body. As she ran, more and more electricity began to run through her system until she had a sort of gut feeling to jump into the group of fallen.

Without warning, she slammed down her entire body and let loose a wave of electricity on every Fallen there and completely disintegrated them!

She jumped up and began to look at herself, "WOW! Since when can I do that?" She asks with glee, "I was like WHOOSH and then I was all BOOM! That was AWESOME!"

Her ghost appeared a third time, "Well, it's good to see your light is working properly. Now let's see about this ship. We're lucky the fallen haven't completely picked it clean."

"Light?" The girl whispered and began to turn to the ship and asked, "Will it fly?"

Egotistically her Ghost answered, "I can make it work." Before vanishing, most likely, into the ship.

Suddenly the ship's Engines began to activate, and it levitated out of the assortment of wires and cables. "OK, it's not going to break orbit. But it just might get us to the city. Now about that transmat."

Without warning even more of the Fallen came out of the wall behind the girl with a very large one in tow. Turning towards them, the girl was read to fight until she was transmatted straight into the ship by her Ghost.

"You're welcome. We can come back for them when you're ready but for now? Let's get you home." Said the Ghost as she piloted the ship to The Last City.

Sighing, the girl laid back in the pilot's chair and relaxed for the first time in as long as she could remember… which wasn't much to be honest. Thinking for a moment she realized she didn't even know much Except for her name, "Adora."

"Huh?" asked her Ghost

"My name it's… it's Adora. Why can't I remember much else?"

"Well you see, when one becomes a Guardian, (that's what you are now by the way,) They don't remember anything from their previous life before. Think of it as being new version of you."

"Huh, OK." She said before another thought came to her mind, "HEY what is your name? It can't be Ghost. That sounds more like a title or something."

"Your right it is, and I don't have one. All Ghosts are given them by their Guardians."

"Oh, well maybe tell me a little about yourself and I can think of a name for you."

"Well I am a Ghost. A small bundle of light made by the Traveler, here to help you give humanity hope for the future."

Adora pondered for a moment before coming up with a name, "How about Light Hope?"

"Very well I am now Light Hope your ever dependable and faithful Ghost." She than bows in respect, making the Adora feel a little uncomfortable.

"Oh uh, you don't need to do that. We're going to be friends after all right?"

Light Hope looked at Adora and giggled, "Yes we sure are. Now you might want to take a nap, we won't be at the city for another hour or so."

Nodding, Adora rested her head back and began to fall into a slumber, not knowing the adventures she'll have in the future or the friends she'll make. If she's lucky she might even find love, but let's be honest here. What are the odds of that?
