Lincoln's P.V.O
It all started when a family felt there was something missing. They are no means an average one. Not just by number. If you live in Royal Woods, it's almost impossible not to know about this family. If you just moved here, you would learn about them quickly.
You can hear all the noises, especially Luke's loud music and Levi's explosions, even when you are on the other side of the town. It would be hard to believe such a family may be missing something.
It is a very odd coincidence that they have a surname that perfectly describes them: Loud. I don't know whether it's because it's their actual name or the parents changed it themselves because they thought it would be ironic, but that doesn't matter, so let's get back on track.
Narrator P.V.O
"Wait, are you saying that you two want to adopt a girl?" Loki slowly asked. He found something interesting enough to get his eyes off his phone.
"What does that mean? Is that another way to say you two want to buy shoes?" Loni asked, looking up with his index finger on his chin.
Everyone in the room except for the Loud Parents, Rita and Lynn Sr, facepalmed. Some wondered if any girl deserved to put up with Loni's absentmindedness. But to be fair, they have their attics.
"You are incorrect, older male sibling unit. Given that your cerebrum is too feeble to comprehend my linguistics, I will use a more simplistic vocabulary: Adopting someone means that you are taking a kid that is not yours and raising them as your own." Levi pinched his nose bridge.
"Oh, yeah… hold on, are you taking someone else's child? That's wrong! Can't you just make one in your belly like you did with the rest of the nine of us?" Loni asked with his hands on his cheeks. Everyone groans, not even bothering to correct Loni.
"Yes, we are. You all remember what the doctor said: your father and I can't have any more children. and we are sad because we weren't able to have any girls," Rita explained.
Rita and Lynn Sr. always dreamed of having a big family. Even when other people questioned them about it, saying things like "Why do you want so many children?", "What about the stress of having so many?" or " How would you be able to earn the money to take care of them?" but they didn't care. Sure, they often went to bed feeling like their souls will come out the moment they touch the mattress and they have to sacrifice their free time working long hours to fill in their tight bank account and having to find extra sources of income.… Aside the neighbors complaining about the boys.
But the parents saw their sons as a blessing. It didn't change how there was something missing: a girl. Ever since Rita gave birth to Loki, they have been trying to have one; checking the internet, keeping up with the latest research about how to influence the gender of their baby, and asking other parents how they conceived a girl naturally on purpose. All with no success and more boys.
When the doctors gave them the news it devastated them. Sure, Leon gave everyone joy, but not the kind the older boys' births give them. It gets so boring and frustrating to be dealing with the boys dealing with similar issues even though their personalities are different, except for their rowdiness and loudness, such as fighting boys outside of the family or making sexist comments. Having a girl would be a pleasant change.
"So there will be a girl here? Finally! There will be another person who isn't an unsophisticated ruffian!" Lexx exclaimed.
The boys glared at him. He can be a snob and a hypocrite because he still goes along with the Loud Boys' attics such as dutch ovens and dog piles.
"So guys, when will you adopt a girl? Can I come with you?" Luke asks.
"We aren't ready to adopt yet. We need to fill in some applications and state forms to do the process. This can take months. We also need to find her a room, given that she might prefer her own. Since we have almost no more room left, we probably will change the linen closet into one." Lynn Sr. said.
"Well, I hope she will be a tomboy. I wouldn't want some dumb girl that doesn't find mud amazing. Mud is amazing!" Leif said, waving his arms out.
"She might be an easy target for my pranks. She will girl into them. HA ha ha get it?" Lane said, causing the other family members, except Lynn Sr., to groan.
"Ha ha good one Lane! But please don't pull cruel pranks just because she seems to be an easy target," Lynn Sr. firmly said after laughing at the pun.
"She could be a grand help for my poetry. I been having trouble finding words that rhyme," Lars said in his usual monotone. This time, he didn't appear out of nowhere to scare the family.
"As long as she doesn't go into my room without my permission, I will be fine with her," Loki said, crossing his arms.
"I could use her as my mannequin!" Loni said with a wide grin while putting his hands together.
"Hopefully she will know about makeup so she could help me look better for my acting and play princess and prince with me. I am tired of playing it by myself and Leif would of course, ruin the game." Lexx said with his arms crossed, looking at Leif, who glared back at him.
"I hope she just isn't a wimp so I can play sports with her," Lynn Jr. said, putting his hands on his hips.
"It would be interesting to have another female unit in the family, other than mother, to study. I am intrigued to learn about female anatomy and how they change when they reach puberty." Lexx said while writing on his notepad.
"Ewww." the boys stuck their tongues out, with their faces turning green.
"Levi, we will warn you that not everyone will be comfortable with you testing them. It's also not appropriate," Rita scolded.
"Now, boys, we will have to research a few adoption agencies. Take the time to think about this." Lynn Sr. said before the parents left the living room.
"Oh my god. This is totally amazing! What should I put on first? My makeup? The girly dresses I hadn't put on anyone yet? She would look good on my girl version of my outfit! Or maybe I should try…"
"Loni, I get it excites you about having a girl in this house but can you stop?" Loki interrupted with his left eye twitching.
"But Loki, this is great!" Loni whined.
"I will work on a welcoming poem for her. I guess she would prefer a less dark kind," Lars commented.
"Siser!" Leon clapped his hands while Loki held him.
"Yes, I know you guys are excited. But Loni, don't forget about our trip to the mall! I want to get that waterproof phone case so I can text Bebe while taking a shower." Loki said, checking his phone.
"Bro, you really need therapy." Luke commented with half-closed eyes. Loki glared, but ignored him. He hided his phone away from Luke, gently stroking it.
"Anyone else want to come?" Everyone else said no to Loki.
"Good. The fewer siblings, the less stress."
The two eldest boys went into the old family van that constantly fell apart. Loki was the one driving it, being the only young Loud with a license, "Can I drive the van? It could be good practice!" Loni asked.
"No, I don't want to die in a car accident before I can propose to my beloved Bebe Boo Boo Bear." Loki said. Loni pouted, leaving his brother groaning.
"Why bother? If he will ever learn to drive at all." he muttered, rolling his eyes up to the ceiling.
At the mall, there was a skinny eleven-year-old boy named Lincoln. The boy had shaggy white hair, freckles, and a prominent overbite chipped tooth. He wore a gray beanie which his hair protrudes from, a dirty blue sports jacket with white sleeves, navy blue torn out muddy jeans, and white sneakers with red stripes. His restless eyes scanned the place, keeping one hand in his pocket while holding a hot dog.
Lincoln P.V.O
The adoption thing is how the story started for them. For me, it was when I needed money. Sure, everyone needs money. But since I didn't have a useless mom and a pushy dad, I was on my own. Royal Woods is a small town with the advantages of a big city, but it wasn't perfect. Homelessness, especially street children like me, is a huge problem.
Narrator P.V.O
Lincoln walked through the mall, checking for any gullible targets. He spotted a couple with the naive gaze he was looking for. With that, Lincoln bumped into them, intentionally.
"Hey!" The couple turned around to the boy, the hot dog on the floor. Lincoln puts on a faux irritated glare.
"I just bought that hot dog."
"Oh, sorry, how much did that cost?" the raven-haired boyfriend asked.
"Three dollars," Lincoln said.
The boyfriend put his wallet out, "Give him five dollars," his girlfriend told him. He nodded and complied.
The boy smirks and mumbled "thanks". When Lincoln is sure they are not turning back, he picks up the hot dog and puts the money in his pocket. They didn't see Lincoln snatching the woman's wallet from her purse. When the boyfriend turned away, he stole his as well. He walked away far enough with nobody seeing it.
"Man, I can't believe this clever trick isn't in the street children's book of how to earn money. Not a trick I'm telling the other kids." he thought. Lincoln spotted a old man walking, and repeated his scam.
Around an hour later, Loni and Loki walked out of the mall with Loni holding 2 gigantic shopping bags and Loki carrying the few things he bought in a small bag. Loni was skipping so much, Loki had to run to catch up with him.
"Seriously Loni, do you need to spend that much money on clothes? You could have just bought fabric and designed them from scratch." Loki frowned at the size of the bags his brother was carrying.
"But I just can't resist. They are so amazing," Loni said with a wide grin.
"Why does is he a fashionista? I already have to deal with people teasing me for having a brother who has a girly hobby. Heck, some people thinks he's gay." Loki thought.
Lincoln was leaning on the van door. When the two boys reached the van, Loki scowled. He dropped his bag to stomp to him.
"Out of the way, twerp." he demanded, doing his best to be intimidating.
"That will cost 14 bucks," the boy said, putting his hand out.
"To go in our family van? No one would fall for that!"
"Oh, so your family owns this hippie van? I thought it was yours where you and your dumb friends hang out to get drunk." Lincoln remarked.
Loki gasped and was about to choke the boy before Loni speaks up.
"Come on, let's give him the money. He looks cute!"
Loni takes every dollar out of his wallet. He was about to give them to Lincoln, whose eyes widened seeing how easy it is to trick him. Loki grabbed his brother's wrist.
"Loni! Are you that stupid!? He is just trying to get money from us! Now get twerp!" he demanded.
"Fine, but I want to look at his adorable face forever!" Loni said, while he practically squeezes the boy's cheeks.
Loki couldn't believe in the stupidity of his younger brother, even though he had seen it every day. But how he almost gave some hooligan all his money when it's clear that the boy is just getting money out of them was unbelievable.
"Gahh! Okay, okay, I will go away as long as this airhead leaves me alone!" Lincoln got out of Loni's grasp.
Lincoln sighed and almost left. But then he looked back at Loni's money. Lincoln snatched it, running away as fast as he can.
"Hey! Get back here, you thief!" Loki thought of chasing him, but the boy ran fast. Too fast for a somewhat malnourished child.
"Bye-bye, I hope I can see you again!" Loni said while putting his arm right up and waving quickly.
The boy heard him and glanced back at him. He obviously thought Loni was crazy. Loki growled and put his hands on his face, wanting to peel off his skin. Their parents will be less than amused when he explains what happened…
Lincoln didn't stop running until he couldn't see the mall anymore. He slowed down and walked to a six story abandoned apartment building. Almost every window were smashed and boarded. Lincoln climbed on the rusty fire escape ladder until he reached the top floor where he crawled in the almost glassless window: the only window in the building that is not boarded up.
The apartment was very dusty. Lincoln chose it anyway because it was the largest apartment. There was almost no furniture. except for the low couch, a thick tv that didn't work and a bed hard as concrete. The walls had a fading green colored wallpaper that, like the hardwood floor, was peeling, making it easy to see the bricks behind them.
The boy allowed himself to collapse on the couch, causing a vast amount of dust to come out. Lincoln looks down at the money he is holding with a smirk.
"Man, that idiot was an easy steal. I might get rich from stealing his every paycheck. Nah, how can he have a job?"
The boy smirked while making rain with the money. He usually wasn't greedy, but it's been a while since he stole that much money. He guessed it means having a break from stealing. Thinking about this turned his smile into a grin. But Lincoln didn't realize a quiet sigh of relief escaped.
Lincoln P.O.V
This is me. Lincoln. I thought those two boys would be like everyone else I stolen from; blank faces that you will forget by next week. But that was only the first time encountering the Louds. Little did I know, I will soon feel bad for stealing his money. Loni didn't hold a grudge, saying he just gave it to me. But of course, that was only after getting to know him better.
Narrator P.O.V
It had been a few days since Lincoln tole the money from Loni. That day, Lynn Jr. was at the park, watching Lars, Leif, Lexx and Levi. Usually either Lane, Luke, or Loni would take them. He volunteered to take the boys to prove he is not as irresponsible as everyone thinks. That's what he tells himself, but everyone knows he is reckless.
Rita and Lynn Sr. were busy working on adoption paperwork. Loni was hanging out with friends. Of course, after what happened, the family can't trust him to spend his money wisely. So his friends agreed to check on him whenever he's going out. Loni was on another date with Bebe, ranting about what happened days ago. Luke needed to go to his study group, and Lane had a birthday party gig at the science-fiction convention.
The boys were doing their usual things. Lars was sitting under a shade working on his welcoming poem instead of his usual dark poetry. Levi studied lake geeses' sounds with a weird device. Leif and Lexx played the only game that doesn't leave them bickering: Princess rescue. Lexx playing the prince while Leif is playing the dragon. They only used their imagination to fill in a princess because no girls were interested in playing. Lynn was playing basketball by himself, knowing that if he plays with others, he will get so focused that he won't pay attention to anything else outside of the court.
Lincoln walked down to the park. With Loni's money, he bought cleaner clothes. He wore a navy-blue jeans, a black and white flannel sweater with breast pockets on both sides, and the same beanie and sneakers from before. He had got out of the bathroom, using the showers and shampoo he bought to clean himself up. So his hair was cleaner and no longer too long for his beanie. He also bought a cheap brown backpack. In it where his leftover money (the rest is under the lumpy bed), his hygiene essentials, and a few wallets he recently pickpocketed.
Lynn launched his basketball to the hoop. Because he put so many successful shots, his pride got the better of him. He threw the hoop, less careful of his aim. The ball got to the backboard, bouncing off to Lincoln. Lincoln looked up and saw the ball. His eyes widened and he dodged right on time. Lincoln turned to Lynn with a glaring raised eyebrow.
"Awww man! What happened to my record of 433 hoops!? Oh sorry about that. Did it hit you?" Lynn looked at Lincoln.
The athlete was too busy complaining to himself about his record that he didn't even see the ball coming to Lincoln.
"It's fine. Doesn't matter. Guess I will find somewhere else to eat. So I won't have to listen to your bouncing ball shit."
Lincoln picked up his meal and backpack. He was about to leave until Lynn Jr. stepped in front of where he was walking. Lincoln groaned, but he stopped upon seeing Lynn's red face and steam coming out from his ears.
"Hey! Don't talk of sports like that! They are my life! Besides, there's children around here. No need to swear." Lynn Jr. angrily gestured to his brothers.
"Big surprise. Your jersey says it all. Besides, it's just a word. I swear all the fucking time. Can I have peace now? I paid this with my own money." Lincoln shrugged, because he really wanted to walk away as far as possible to avoid conflict. But of course, Lynn Jr. was making it difficult.
"Oh, so you are a punk, huh? Probably steals and do nothing but waste around. That's sad. At least I have potential for a future." Lynn Jr. pointed to himself.
"At least I have potential to not grow up to be a entitled jackass." Lincoln deadpanned, taking a bite of his burger. Lynn Jr. gasped, and growled. The other boys looked up, watching their brother with carefull concern. In case he will get reckless or compeitive again.
"Take that back!"
"It will take more than that to make me." Lincoln said flatly with his eyes half-lidded.
"Yeah, nobody talk smack to Lynnsanity!" Leif stomped towards the two.
"And why should I? You don't seem too concerned about how you landed your shitty ball on me."
"He said the S word." Leif gasped.
Lincoln shrugged, "So? You are going to say it behind your mommy and daddy's back eventually, kid."
"Do you know who I am? Or what we are?" Lynn Jr. said.
Lincoln snorted, "Oh, not really. You don't seem like a father of three boys."
"What? No way! Ewww!" Lynn Jr. stuck his tongue out.
"That's correct. Lynn would've had Lars at five if that were true." Said Levi walking towards them, his hands behind his back.
"Ugh. No need to point that out. I was joking." Linconln's face wrinkled and he glanced away, shaking his head.
"Well, more like taunting! We are brothers, duh! Who would joke that?!" said Lexx, joining his twin.
"That would be impossible indeed." Lars said in his usual monotone voice, causing the other boys to jump and scream while Lincoln's burger fell off his hands.
"You need to stop doing that, Spooky! Do you want to hold a funeral when we die of a heart attack or something?" Leif complained while holding his chest, panting.
Lincoln looks with a scowl at his burger, which fell apart. "Oh great, I just bought that. Looks like I will have to buy another one," he said, thinking of stealing one next time.
Lynn noticed his emphasis on "buy" and looked at his white hair, which got disheveled from his slouch beanie falling off a little to his left after Lars scared them. Lynn remembered Loni's description of the person he gave his money to. The other boys had a hard time believing him, but Loki said the white hair part is true, and not Loni being stupid.
"Huh, you have white hair." Lynn said.
Lincoln scoffed. He had gotten used to people commenting on his white hair. Hence why he wore a beanie, "I know. I look like my mom had an affair with a deformed white chipmunk. Get that a lot. Assholes don't always have to point out the obvious."
"Yeah, but Loki and Loni said that some boy with white hair stole their money a few days ago." Said Lynn.
Levi spoke up. "Correct Older Male sibling. It doesn't take an intellectual to know that only 1 in 18,000 to 20,000 have a melanin deficiency in the hair. Which this male human has. This narrows our suspect list to him."
Everyone looked at the child prodigy with raised eyebrows and half-closed eyes. Lincoln was most confused, as there were so many words he didn't understand. Lynn Jr. glanced at him, and gave a "he does that a lot" look.
Levi sighed, "You all say tomato, I say Solanum Lycopersicum. This boy seems to have white hair like the boy Loki said stole their money, which is an uncommon hair color." He said.
Lexx gasped and then glares at Lincoln. "Wait a minute! So that means you are the one who stole Loni's money."
"Oh, so you guys are related to that big idiot and his short-tempered jerk brother? I need the money more. Besides, he was carrying huge bags of shit that could have filled in his entire closet." Lincoln sneered.
"Oh, so that's how you bought all these clothes. Loki said you were dirty." Leif said with a glare.
"Whatever. I have to say, I can't believe you guys are brothers. How many of you guys are there? 50?" Lincoln asked, but he was actually curious, not making fun of them.
"We have four other brothers. Stand back boys, it looks like there will be a fight coming and there's no way you can beat me because I mastered at least 7 martial arts. So you are just going to become the latest victim of Lynnsanity!"
Lynn made a huge grin and extended his arms in a fighting position. Anytime now, the brat will tremble and back away like a coward. To the boys' surprise, Lincoln shrugged and smiled.
"Come on, I was messing around. But if that's so… Did anyone use their…." Lincoln quickly grabs the hand sanitizer from his backpack and squirts them on Lynn's eyes. "Brain to defeat you?" he finished with a smirk.
"Owww, it stings!" Lynn covered his red, teary eyes. But he screamed more and extended his hands away. With his eyes bulging out even more.
Lincoln leaned his head between Lynn and Lars. "Too bad." he blurted. Lynn, his eyes teary, punched to where the voice was. Lincoln dodged, causing Lynn's punch to go to Lars' nose. The goth fell on the floor, blood gushing out of his nose.
"Owww, Lynn!" Lars said, covering his nose.
"Was that Lars?" Lynn asked sheepishly.
"Yes, you just had hit Lars' nasus," Levi slowly said, walking towards Lars to tend his nose. Lynn already knew what Levi meant despite not knowing the word "nasus".
Lexx growled, "You mess with one brother, you mess with us!"
"Yeah, what he said!" Leif exclaimed.
"Levi, do you have some ray thingy that can catch this meanie?" Lexx asked.
"I am afraid not. I only bought my audio parabola." Levi said, while instructing Lars to hold his head up.
"What ray thingy? Is that some of your puny toys?" Lincoln said in a babyish tone. He was getting fed up with the boys and wanted to leave.
The twins growled before Lexx jumped and grabbed on Lincoln's chest, making him fall on the grass. Leif runs to Lincoln's left leg and starts twisting, hurting Lincoln. Lexx punched the boy's face, leaving behind a few minor bruises. People in the park surrounded them. Some even parked their cars to see what's going.
Leif picked up a rock and hit it several times on Lincoln's chest, which he resisted while shrieking. Leif accidentally hitted Lexx on the hand.
"Hey, don't hit me with your dirt spreading on me! Hit him!"
Lexx turned back and was going to punch for more. Until he noticed Lincoln was staring at him. The street child grabbed dirt from the ground and throws it to Lexx, causing him to jump and rapidly try to swipe the dirt off him.
"Ewww, eww! A prince must be clean!" Lexx shrieked.
Leif mouthed "seriously?" and shook his head. He looked back to Lincoln, who was running out from the crowd, grabbing his backpack near the bench and fleeing. Some adults who overheard about the stealing part ran to stop him. Leif knew he wouldn't be able to catch him, even if he ran the fastest he can. He hoped the adults will. Lars and Levi were watching the fight with wide eyes. A woman made sure Lynn won't step into anything.
"Did you guys get him?" Lynn asked in a hopeful voice. But the silence answered his question.
The twins were playing a blame game of why Lincoln escaped. Levi sighed again and called his parents from his tiny phone he made for himself, "Hi, Levi sweetie. How's the park?" Rita asked.
"Maternal unit, you won't believe what happened. We found the boy who stole Loni's cash. The twins tried to fight him, but the juvenile delinquent got away. The boy spurted anti-bacterial disinfector on Lynn's oculus, which caused him to punch Lars' nasus. For the meanings of my words, they are aka known as hand sanitizer, eyes, and noses."
"Oh, my god. I will go there immediately. We should be able to track him. Can you give the phone to the other boys?"
Levi nodded and walked towards the twins, who are dangerously close to getting into another one of their notorious fights.
"If you weren't so distracted by a small amount of dirt on your body, we would had gotten him!" Leif yelled with his hands up.
"Well, excuse me for trying to be a clean prince! You should have paid attention to that meanie instead of me. That way we could lock him up in jail! Also, if you didn't hit me with that rock, I wouldn't have to reveal my one weakness!"
Levi clears his throat. "Siblings, our maternal unit wants to hear what happened." He held his phone out. To make sure they won't fight who holds the phone,
"Leif may go first." he said.
Lexx pouted while Leif grins. "Children, what happened?" Rita asked.
"We were having fun at the park until Lynn almost hit some boy who has a beanie covering his white hair with the ball that bounced off. Lynn tried to apologize, but the jerk said a lot of bad words and made fun of us. So, Lynn was ready to fight him until the boy squirted hand sanitizer on his eyes and tricked him into punching Lars. Lexx and I took matters into our own hands and fought him. But the boy found Lexx's weakness and threw dirt on him. While I was distracted, he ran away. This is Lexx's fault!" Leif blames his twin.
"I had the same story except that it's Leif's fault! If he hadn't gone close to me, the thief wouldn't know how I feel about dirt. He should have focused on him while I cleaned myself!" Lexx said, causing the twins to growl at each other.
"Boys! Enough! I understand that what the boy did was terrible, but I will punish you both for fighting someone. That solves nothing. I'm talking to you as well, Lynn Jr.," Rita said firmly.
"Awww!" the twins whined.
"What?" Lynn Jr. turned around, facing a tree instead of Levi.
"Are Lynn and Lars okay?" Rita asked. Levi checked on Lars, who nodded to him while Lynn was talking to the woman who helped him.
"Yes, yes they are." Said Lexx.
"Good. Please go home." Rita said before hanging up.
"No problem Mom! Who needs eyes to go around? I have super senses!" Lynn Jr. bragged while walking off. Only to walk to a trash can, falling into it.
Rita sighed as she put her phone down. She was at her shift at the local dentist's, wearing her usual uniform, "If we ever get across that boy, he won't mess with us again. No… maybe he deserves a little compassion." She said to herself before her boss called her over.
Lincoln climbed over a fence to escape the adults. By the time they reached the fence, Lincoln was hard to see. The boy sighed as he slowed down. He took a deeper breath to allow his body to recover. His stomach growled, and Lincoln puts his hand on it.
"Already? Should had ignored the jackass." Lincoln groaned. He checked around for somewhere to eat.
He spotted a woman in her 40s. She wore a pink tank top, axel faux fur jacket, high heels, dangly silver earrings and a rhinestone wide choker necklace that said "Want a girlfriend?". She was leaning on a light pole and her makeup, thick purple lipstick and black mascara, was a mess. The woman had light skin, a thin body, and short platinum blonde hair that was disheveled.
"Hmm, She must be drunk." Lincoln thought.
"Hey, do you want a girlfriend? Like the necklace says." the woman slurred. Her head was spinning around as if she was dizzy.
"Looks like I got it right." Lincoln thought.
"Already have one." he lied. Lincoln checked around for anyone using the woman as a distraction while they could pickpocket him.
"Your loss." The woman looked at Lincoln. Except above Lincoln's head. Her eyelids were getting heavy. He could tell she still doesn't realize he's a kid.
"Never seen you before. Where are you from?" Lincoln squinted. Looking for why she seemed familiar.
"Detroit. Jumped into a train with some hobos."
"Strange, that's where I came from." Lincoln whispered to himself.
"You said you changed your mind and want a date?" the woman leaned towards him.
"No, why are you here? That's what I asked. To find a boyfriend?" Lincoln joked.
The woman snorted. "Heh heh, yeah that."
Lincoln shrugged and was ready to walk. Those street walkers may be harmless most of the time. But he still finds them annoying, so it's best to leave. Then he heard her again. He turned around with a raised eyebrow, wondering if listening to her was worth his time.
"What did you say?"
"Said I'm here for another reason…. I'm looking for my daughter." the woman said.
Lincoln stiffened, "Oh, sorry to hear that. Is she lost?"
"Yes, she ran away. I heard a few rumors she escaped to here. Want to know my name?" The woman said while sobbing.
"Sure." Despite that, Lincoln walked away fast before she muttered her name.
The street child climbed up the fire escape ladder, still exhausted from the running. He sat down on the lumpy mattress, knowing better than just collapsing on it unless he wants his back to hurt.
"Man, those were some rather tough boys. I guess I won't be messing with any of them again. How can I detect which people are one of them?" He asked himself. Then the woman came to his mind.
"She's probably made up that story to get mens' attention. Shouldn't bother me too much, that's her problem." he thought.
Lincoln's P.V.O
You might wonder what's the big deal about that woman, but I won't tell you yet. There was something I should've noticed. But if I did, I would've left. Then I would had been locked away next time I seen the Louds.
