Thorne gave a deep sigh as he lay in bed. He couldn't sleep, that had always been a problem, even when alive. He had his father to thank for that. A click came from Husk's lighter. Thorne rolled over to face his lover.

"I thought I said not to do that in here." Thorne remarked, taking the unlit cigar out of the cat's mouth.

Husk grumbled, "Just threw a leg over you and you're worried about cigar smoke?"

Thorne chuckled, putting the cigar on the side table, "Threw a leg over, huh?"

Husk blushed, "Well… I… you are the nicest piece of… ass to throw a leg over."

Thorne smiled; he drew himself closer to Husk till their noses touched. "What a smooth talker, quoting Keates on me now?"

A little cough came from the doorway.

The pair of cats turned to see a very tired imp in a black dress rubbing her eyes.

"Abigail", Thorne signed, "What are you doing up?"

The little girl gave her reply, eliciting a chuckle from her father.

"What?" Husk asked.

"She said she wanted to see my new boyfriend."

Husk coughed, "What?! No… we're… it isn't… we aren't… you're not my…did she really say that?"

"You bet she did," Thorne smiled, pecking Husk on the lips. "And it seems that you like the sound of it."

"Fuck off," Husk grunted hiding his smile with his hand, sliding out from under the sheets and walking to the door, past a briefcase filled with Thorne's usual casino winnings. Husk didn't like smart people in his casino, they tended to leave with more than he made. But when it came to Thorne, he didn't mind so much. When it came to Thorne, he tended to do things he normally wouldn't. Thorne made him feel fuzzy. He had to stop himself purring earlier, how could he progress to overlord if he indulged in fuzzy feelings?

Husk stopped in front of the young girl and patted her on the head. "Would she like a card trick?" He asked.
