"Do you want to bring this furniture with us?" Callie asked as she turned to her side to face her wife. She smiled as she watched Arizona squint her eyes and twist her lips in contemplation of her question. "Honestly? While we have soooo many good memories in this bed, I mean REALLY good memories." Arizona said as she wiggled her eyebrows suggestively, prompting a laugh from her wife then reaching out to caress the warm caramel skin she always craved, she continued, "I'd like to buy new furniture for our new start. It's like I said earlier, I don't want to look at our bed and think about how long I kept you out of it, or how I made you feel so alone even though you were right next to me…I just…" Arizona cut herself off not wanting to get emotional. She just wanted to start over, with everything. Lifting her hand to caress a soft pale cheek, Callie brushed her thumb across the indentation of that adorable dimple and soothed, "Shhh, it's okay. I think it's a great idea, plus, I'd kinda like a bigger bed ya know? More room to make those good memories." She said lightly and waggled her brows as well. She was shocked when her wife immediately popped up, turned on the bedside lamp, and grabbed her phone pulling up a website. "I'm so glad you agree! What do you think of this?" Callie giggled at her lover and took the phone to see what had her so excited.

Looking at the website, Callie realized it was an interior design site and her wife had picked out the perfect bedroom…if you were the Easter Bunny. "Seriously Arizona? You still want to live in an easter basket?" Arizona scoffed and gently pushed her wife, "Hush, it's not that bad. Look how peaceful and comfy and soft it looks. It's so relaxing and…and…" She was cut off by a grumpy mumble. "Bright and cheery and…not at all edgy or badass." Arizona sat back with a huff as she watched her wife tap at her phone. "Here! This!" Callie exclaimed and proudly shoved the phone in her face. The blonde sighed and ran her fingers through her hair, "Great, does it come with a bat signal or do we have to buy it separately?" Snatching the phone back, the brunette laughed, "Funny." "But it's so dark and…" "Frowny?" Callie supplied. "Well, yeah." Arizona pouted. Deciding that pout was just too irresistible, Callie leaned in and caught her wife's bottom lip between her teeth and nipped at it before deepening the kiss. Pulling back slightly, she murmured, "Do we have to choose tonight? Maybe we could just make a few more memories before we move." She then leaned in for a sweet kiss before moving her lips along a pale jaw and continued her path leaving soft open mouth kisses until she reached the sensitive spot behind the blonde's ear, she knew would have her melting in 3…2…1. "I guess we could look some more tomorrow." Arizona breathed out as she laid back and pulled her wife on top of her.

Placing the last throw pillow on the bed in her guest suite, which was now officially Arizona's room, Callie looked around and smiled brightly, pleased that she had perfectly replicated her ex-wife's dream room. She knew she had maybe gone overboard, after all, there was no guarantee her ex-wife would want to stay longer than a few days. But given she had not yet gotten around to furnishing her guestrooms, she couldn't help herself when she stepped into the furniture store and saw the bedroom suit that nearly had her then wife swooning when they went shopping for their new house six years ago. They had both discussed their dream bedrooms and had immediately tossed out both ideas once they realized how far apart their tastes were. It was no surprise really as they never agreed on décor from the moment she first asked the blonde to move in with her. After much debate, they had agreed upon something that encompassed both of their tastes and represented them more as a couple than individuals. Taking in the colors, decorations, bedding, and furniture, Callie knew this room screamed Arizona. While she could have bought any bedroom suit, she wanted her ex-wife to feel comfortable, appreciated, and if she were being honest, she wanted her to feel cherished. This was her way of saying the blonde was indeed welcome in her space. She was making a great sacrifice for their daughter and Callie wanted to recognize that fact. She was also secretly hoping it would deter her from wanting to stay in a hotel.

Thinking back to that night nearly a month ago when Arizona called and dropped her bomb, Callie couldn't help but remember how lonely and sad she had been shortly before that call. She had yet to figure out how she was going to reach out to her ex-wife and begin to reconcile with her. She had known for some time that she wanted her family to be together again. She hesitated for so long because she knew she had no right to just pop back into Arizona's life and make grand declarations. Part of her felt foolish for even considering the blonde as she purchased and renovated her home, but she couldn't stop herself. Something deep within told her they weren't done; their story wasn't over. Fortunately for her, Arizona had done the hard part and decided to move to New York which truthfully, was half the battle. She was the one who had walked away, she was the one who moved across the country, she was the one who hadn't moved back when she really had no reason to stay. So how could she just call up her ex and say 'Hey, I know all this is on me, but how about you move here and we try again?' She couldn't. But now that they would be in the same city and living in the same house, for the time being at least, she could do everything in her power to show her ex-wife she had healed, grown, changed, and finally realized what she wanted all along was right in front of her.

Taking one last look, Callie stood and decided she would head into the office for the rest of the evening. She wanted to spend all of next week with Arizona and Sofia and not have to worry about work. She hadn't taken even an hour off since opening nearly a year ago and she had an amazing staff, so she knew she had nothing to worry about. It was just a matter of organizing everything, rescheduling patients who had appointments next week, seeing as many as she could this week and making time the week after for those who couldn't make it in sooner. It was important to her that they spend some time together as a family getting to know each other again. She wanted to help acclimate her ex to the city and not just set her adrift in an ocean where she was essentially alone. After all, she was only moving here because of her. Callie had thought of moving back to Seattle after splitting with Penny, but pride had kept her from returning with her tail between her legs. Pride, and then the offer of a grant that allowed her the opportunity to start her own medical center building robotic limbs for amputees. She shook her head at that. The irony of their current career paths hasn't escaped her. She had turned a project she had started for her wife into her life's work and the muse behind it all had never wanted anything to do with it. It had been the beginning of the end for them. Meanwhile, Arizona was about to open a center for maternal and fetal medicine with the skills and certification she received from the fellowship she took up which, for Callie, had been the final nail in the coffin of their marriage. Oddly enough, while these things may have aided in the destruction of them as a couple, they only proved to strengthen them as individuals. The very things that broke them, saved them, and ultimately, brought them back to one another. She could only hope it wouldn't come between them again.

Just as she grabbed her keys out of the princess bowl in the foyer, Callie heard the distinct text tone she had set for Arizona. Reaching into her pocket and taking out her phone, she read the text and could swear her heart sped up as the reality of it all set in.

A: The movers just finished up. They will be leaving Friday morning and should arrive Sunday evening or Monday morning.

This was really happening! In three days…THREE DAYS!...her family would be arriving. In three short days, she would have her daughter back in her arms. In three short days she could start making amends and hopefully convince the love of her life they were meant to be together. Locking the front door, Callie headed to the garage and decided that since she felt so good and the weather was clear, she was going to take her baby out for a spin before she went into work for the evening. Climbing into her beloved T-Bird, Callie took out her phone to send a response as she saw another pop on the screen.

A: I really appreciate you Callie! You have been so amazing. Just…thank you, for everything.

Upon reading these words, Callie felt a warmth flow through her. It may seem like such a small thing, but it had been so long since she and her ex-wife were on friendly terms and even longer since either had shown any sort of appreciation for the other. With that thought, an idea popped into her head. Pulling up her contacts, Callie sent off a quick text before she responded to her ex-wife.

Me: Wow! It's finally feeling real. You're moving to New York.

A: I'm moving to New York. Yay!

Callie smiled as she saw the little 'yay' at the end. She could almost picture the blonde as she said it. Bright blue eyes twinkling with excitement opened wide as her dimples popped with her super magic smile and just for effect, her hands raised with fingers spread apart. Not wanting to ignore the fact that Arizona had said those nice things to her, she sent off another message.

Me: Anything I can do to make this transition easier, you bet your sweet ass I will do. But truthfully, I should be the one thanking you.

A: What did I do?

Callie scoffed at this. She knew Arizona was giving up everything she had for their daughter. Even so, she didn't see it as a big thing. It was just something she had to do because it was for Sofia.

Me: Oh…hmmm…let me see…

Me: OH! You're leaving your job, your friends, your life, to make our daughter happy. No big thing.

A: Callie

Me: Don't Callie me! It's a lot, Arizona. You're giving our daughter back to me AGAIN. So, just let me say thank you.

A: Ok, thank you for saying that. BTW yours is sweeter ;)!

Callie laughed out loud at that response. It was no secret to either of them or anybody really that they each admired the other woman's ass. They were often caught and called out for ogling the other. Callie bit her tongue and refrained from responding the way she would like. She knew if she did the conversation could either turn downright dirty or break the tenuous bond they had built over the past weeks. She was saved when another text came through almost immediately.

A: What are you doing this evening?

The brunette smiled and decided to take a picture of her steering wheel and dashboard knowing her ex-wife would know exactly what she was about to do. She also knew the blonde would be extremely jealous and pout just a bit. Before Sofia, they would take day trips in the classic car. Arizona loved driving with the top down and feeling the wind in her hair. While she always complained about the knots and windblown look, she refused to put her hair in a ponytail or wear a hat.

Me: *photo attached* Just about to go for a spin :)!

A: I hate you!

Me: No you don't

A: No I don't

A: Be safe Calliope

Seeing this, Callie's breath hitched. God, except that one conversation when the blonde full named her, she hadn't called her that in years. Hearing her ex-wife say her name always did something to her. It made her feel loved, treasured, and no one could say it like Arizona. In fact, Arizona was the only person she wanted calling her that. She allowed it from her father because, well, he named her. Penny had tried, thought it was cute that their names 'matched'. She shut that down quickly. It became a point of contention actually. Apparently before all hell broke loose at Mer's dinner party, a drunk Arizona had lamented about how she used to call her Calliope and Penny got upset that she let her ex-wife call her that but wouldn't let her girlfriend. Rather than defend herself, she just said, "Yeah, well that's just how it is. No one calls me Calliope." That should have been her first clue that her feelings for either woman weren't what she was claiming them to be. Shaking her head of those thoughts, Callie started her car and thrilled at the feeling of the engine coming to life. Sending back a quick response, she carefully pulled out of her garage and headed for the highway so she could open her baby up for a bit to clear both the engine and her mind.

Me: Always Arizona. I'll call later to say goodnight.
