Arizona feels guilty for leaving so abruptly, but she wasn't sure what to do. She knows Callie is going through a lot right now and wants nothing more than to be there and help, but she also feels like Callie pushed her away. After spending one night in the hotel, she decided to go back home, running is not going to fix anything. On the drive home, she stopped for gas and checked her phone messages, she saw that Callie texted her; "I'm sorry for being distant and angry, I think we need to sit and talk. I don't want to lose you again." Arizona's eyes swelled up with tears, she put her phone back in her bag, finished filling up the gas tank, and drove home.

As Arizona pulled up to the house, she noticed that Callie wasn't home, "dammit!" she thought. She got out and went into the house, Sofia came running down the stairs, "mom!" she exclaimed with happy excitement. "I'm sorry I left honey, I needed to clear my head, do you know where mama is?" Arizona asked. "Mama went to the hospital, she didn't tell me much else," Sofia replied. "Okay sweetheart, I'm going to drive by and see if mama is there," Arizona said as she hugged Sofia. "I'll be back soon, promise. Love you." Arizona told Sofia as she left the house.

Callie's car was in the hospital's parking lot, which was a relief for Arizona. She sat in the car for a few minutes deciding whether to call Callie or surprise her. Under these circumstances, she wasn't sure. She knew Callie wanted to see her, but she didn't want to interrupt her if she was busy. She decided to ask the nurses at the nurse's station where she could find her, they told her she was in the lab on the second floor.

Arizona stood outside the lab and looked through the window, she could see Callie hard at work. She opened the door slowly to not make too much noise, but enough for Callie to look up from her work, which she did. "Hey," Callie said sheepishly. "I read your message, I'm happy you want to talk," Arizona said happily. Callie stood up and walked over to Arizona, Arizona smiled. "I'm so sorry I was such an ass," Callie said wholeheartedly, placing her hands on Arizona's hips. "I know things have been tough, but we need to work through them together, we are a couple, that's what couples do," Arizona said sternly. "I know, I feel terrible," Callie replied nervously. Arizona hugged her tight to reassure her that she was there and not running off, "I love you, Calliope," she said before she released Callie. The two of them sat down and talked for about an hour.

Arizona returned home after she and Callie talked, and they both felt better. Sofia greeted Arizona, "did you and mama sort things out?" she asked. "We did," Arizona replied happily.

A little while later, Arizona prepared dinner, and Callie pulled into the driveway. Callie walked into the house, and the aroma of roast beef and potatoes encompassed the house. "Smells delicious in here," Callie said cheerfully. She made her way into the dining room and sat down, Sofia sat down next to her, "I know what I want to do for my birthday, I just want to spend it with you two and have a home-cooked meal," she said to both of her moms. Arizona and Callie looked at each other and smiled, "we'd love that, but are you sure you don't want to spend it with friends?" Callie replied. "I'm sure," Sofia said with certainty.
