Peter Parker would take a deep breath as he got home from a school trip, his hand was getting swollen. He had taken a picture of the spider that bit him during his trip to Oscorp and wanted to know if it was venomous or not.
He compared the picture with several varieties of spiders until he found the right one, the webpage he had found in Google didn't say it was venomous so he decided to check one of his encyclopedias, nope, not a bad spider bite.
He took a deep breath and laid back against his chair "Might as well check the news before taking a nice and long rest" he thought out loud.
He felt a headache start forming in his head as he scrolled through the Daily Bugle's website "Drone attack at Stark Expo, Tony Stark to blame?"
He frowned at the headline, how could the Daily Bugle attack Tony Stark after he had saved the people from the drones, they didn't know if he had caused the attack or not.
He was getting frustrated at the news, so he decided to close his eyes and move over to his bed, his mind slowly dozing off. Peaceful thoughts flooded his mind as he was starting to join the peace.
His peaceful state of mind would quickly be disturbed by the sounds of police sirens moving quickly "If only Iron Man was interested in the small criminals… No other heroes stop crimes like these"
He wanted to do something about it but what could a teenager that had only recently turned 18 do? Besides even if the spider wasn't venomous he was feeling as if it was, he can't be a superhero, no training nor superpowers.
Unbeknownst to him, the spider that had bit him had escaped one of Oscorp's chambers, it was part of a project to replicate the super soldier formula that had given Captain America his powers and he was the first test subject.
Overnight his body would mutate, his muscular mass increasing, his eyes healing of his visual impairment and his senses increasing in potency.
Peter didn't know it but this was going to become part of a bigger world, one that was far more dangerous than he could imagine.
Eventually the teenager would wake up, an entire night had passed by, panic setting in as he had forgotten the day of the week, quickly scrambling to find his phone, a relatively new Blackberry he had struggled to buy. Thankfully for him it was a Saturday.
His body felt sore and his stomach was empty, he should have had something to eat before passing out on his bed, stretching his arms as he changed clothes. As he walked near the mirror he would jump up in surprise, he wasn't wearing his glasses yet he could see clear as day. His body had suddenly become muscular and he didn't know just what had happened to him.
"I must be hallucinating" he thought to himself as he decided to ignore that for now, heading to the living room of his house he just wanted something to eat, his shirt felt tight on his body. He looked around the kitchen, grabbing enough stuff to make himself the most simple of sandwiches, the slices of ham were thin enough that you could almost see through them, the only thing that was plentiful were the greens.
"Are you okay Pete? You woke up late, your temperature was pretty high last night" said Peter's aunt, she was 57 years old yet she looked relatively young for her age, there were wrinkles appearing on her face but she was a physically active person and the only one who was taking care of Peter, she is like a second mother to him.
"Yeah, I feel fine, Aunt May. Just a small spider bite, that's all" Peter would smile as he ate his sandwich "I'm gonna go and hang out with Harry, he invited me over and I don't wanna disappoint him"
"Oh Peter, I'm sure you would never disappoint Harry. He'll understand that you didn't feel too good last night, after all he's one of your best friends" May would wrap her arms around Peter and smile "Finish your sandwich and go, you don't want to keep him waiting any longer"
After a few seconds, Peter would finish up his sandwich, leaving in a hurry. He took a deep breath as he realized he wasn't gonna be able to get a Taxi, without enough money for it he decided to jog. Without any particular effort he was able to reach a speed faster than he had been able to reach before.
It seemed as if he wasn't dreaming at all, he truly had become a more fit person overnight. He wasn't muscular, his body was lean and toned. He could still pass for a nerd, a geek, someone who never had tried to gain body mass in his life but merely got it as a byproduct of a healthy diet and mild exercise.
Then how come was he able to be as fast on foot as Flash Thompson, his high school bully? Why didn't he need to wear his glasses, it was all so bizarre to him and it was going to get so much more bizarre from this day on
