Nice.
32 unread messages.
Midoriya sighed as he checked his phone, already knowing who the messages were coming from. He presses the notifications and lo and behold, Hatsume was sending him messages nonstop.
Crazy_Eyes: MIDORIYA
Crazy_Eyes: MIDORIYA I PASSED
Crazy_Eyes: MIDORIYA DID YOU PASS
Crazy_Eyes: WHAT AM I SAYING OF COURSE YOU DID
Crazy_Eyes: YOU STILL HAVENT TOLD ME HOW ASIA WORKS
Crazy_Eyes: MIDORIYA WERE GONNA BE CLASSMATES
Crazy_Eyes: MIDORIYA
He scrolled through all the messages that she sent him, most of them starting with her saying his name in all caps. Despite the number of messages and her over eccentric personality, he can't help but crack a smile.
'Cute.'
It truly was, there was something very endearing about her forward personality, something refreshing that he's never experienced before. She was the first person he's ever interacted with since he came back that was like this. She wasn't afraid to speak her mind or say what she thinks about people. She's very open with her emotions and wears them on her sleeves. In other words, she's a person that would never tell a lie.
She reminds him of Himiko Toga, without all the constant attempts at stabbing.
Boi_Genius: Hatsume calm down.
Boi_Genius: I can feel you hyperventilating through the phone.
Boi_Genius: Just take a deep breath.
Crazy_Eyes: Ok
Crazy_Eyes: Ok
Crazy_Eyes: I'm calm
Boi_Genius: You calm now?
Crazy_Eyes: Yes
Boi_Genius: You sure?
Crazy_Eyes: Yes
Boi_Genius: Ok then.
Boi_Genius: You're right I did pass, and I got first place.
Crazy_Eyes: AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH
Midoriya let out a small chuckle. He couldn't help it, she was the most fun interaction he's had (that wasn't with himself) in years.
He glanced at the hologram projector that gave him his test results. Predictably, they were perfect all across the board. His mother practically showered him in tears when she found out he got in, and when she hugged him and told him that she was proud of him, for just a moment, he turned off his nanites and allowed himself to be happy with her, just like he used to when he was young.
It was nice, to not worry, to just focus on her warm embrace and be her child once again. But he knew it couldn't last, his work is far from over. But he promises to himself that when all is said and done, he's going to have the best life he could have.
In fact… why doesn't he start planning that now?
Boi_Genius: Hey Hatsume, I have free time today, wanna hang out after lunch to celebrate our acceptance?
'Kaina did mention I should enjoy myself, so why not? Let's start as friends first though...'
Crazy_Eyes: Sure! Where do you wanna meet?
Midoriya knew just the place.
He told her where to meet him and checked the time. It was currently 11:40 AM, so he decided to tell her to meet him at 1:00 PM at the location. He also told her to bring some of her basic tools with her.
Crazy_Eyes: Ok! See you there! And remember to bring ASIA!
He rolled his eyes and agreed. He set down his phone on his room's desk and briefly takes in how much his old room had changed.
Most of the All Might memorabilia that once covered the entirety of his room had been removed and replaced. Posters about him were taken down, and blueprints, articles about recent technology breakthroughs, and calculations so long that multiple pieces of paper had to be taped together to fit it all had replaced them. His notebooks about Quirks on his bookshelf were away and hidden, and instead, the ones on top were various books about science and engineering, all of them being advanced way above his body's years.
He might as well complete his cover and convince his mom completely that creating inventions was what he truly wanted in life. Even more so than being a hero now.
Speaking of which, she should call him for lunch right about…
Now.
"Izuku! Time for lunch!"
"Coming mom!"
He walks out of his room and goes towards the dining room, he sees his mom sitting down at the table with his favorite dish on his side, Katsudon. He smiles at her appearance, his change in demeanor also had a positive effect on her. There was a small bounce to her step, and she was happier and more confident in acting around him. She also doesn't avoid using her Quirk around him anymore.
He sat down across from her and prepared to dig in.
"Itadakimasu."
And with that, they both started to eat. A couple of seconds in, Izuku mentions his plan to hang out with Hatsume after lunch.
'Oh boy, I can already guess what her reaction will be.'
He swallowed first then started. "Soooo mom, after lunch, I'm gonna be out for a while."
"Hm?" She sounded, before swallowing and then asking. "You going out? What for?"
'Is he going to buy some parts for another one of his inventions?' She mentally questioned.
'Alright Izuku, time to sell this.' He thought before acting like he's nervous.
He bashfully scratched the back of his head. "Eh, I uh… Well, you see… I have a, uh… I kinda want to..."
Inko tilted her head slightly in confusion.
'This is kinda familiar, I haven't seen Izuku act this nervous for almost a year now.'
Izuku then stuttered. "I-I… wanna hang out with a uh… friend."
She briefly blinked in surprise before it processed.
"Oh! A friend from school perhaps?"
"Er, no actually, we met at the Entrance Exam for UA."
He could see the shock play across her face. He could understand why, he might've been acting more confident for these past few months, but she still doesn't know much about what he does outside of their house. So to hear that he'd already made a friend after one day of meeting someone is still a little surprising to hear.
"A new friend?" She questioned, he nodded. She rid of her shock and smiled at him. "Of course sweetie. It's nice that you're making new friends. What's his name?"
'There it is.'
"Actually, my friend's a…. um… girl."

She dropped both her spoon and for and stared at him in silence for nearly a minute.
'Huh, maybe she won't overreact this ti-, no wait, yep, she's shedding tears. Here we go.'
Slowly tears start pouring out of her eyes, her lower lip started quivering. He could already tell what she's thinking.
Then suddenly, it all burst out. Waterfalls of tears shot out of her eyeballs and she cried out loud. "WAAAHHH, MY BABY BOY'S GOING ON A DATE!"
"Mom! It's not like that!"
Hopefully, he could calm her down before 1:00 PM.

"Such a shame, this place used to look so beautiful."
Toshinori Yagi couldn't help but be saddened at the sorry state of Takoba Municipal Beach Park.
Yagi was a sickly-looking man with a very thin and frail build. He has messy blonde hair that sticks out in strands and two longer strands were placed in front of his face in the shape of an upside-down 'V'. He is wearing a baggy white shirt with baggy pants to match. His eyes were sunken and his cheeks were hallowed. He looked like a breeze could knock him down.
Unknown to everyone that looks at him, Yagi had an alter-ego. Another identity that's widely known throughout the entire world. A hero persona that spreads hope everywhere he went and was called the Symbol of Peace.
But lately, that persona had been appearing less and less in public.
Yagi mentally sighed. 'My time as All Might is lessening with each passing day, and I still haven't found a successor.'
He was running out of time on staying as a hero. A few years ago, he had fought the incredibly powerful villain and archnemesis, All for One. While he may have won that battle, he didn't walk away unscathed. He had lost most of his stomach and his respiratory system was damaged beyond repair.
The damage severely cut down the time he could use his Quirk, but fortunately for him, his Quirk had the unique ability to be passed on to another vessel, someone else that could take up his mantle as the new Symbol of Peace.
Sadly, he still doesn't believe he had found the right one.
There were some strong candidates, especially one coming from his former sidekick, but he still wasn't quite sure. He decided to wait until the new batch of first years come to UA to be taught by him so he could see if any of them may be worthy.
But he had to pick fast, otherwise, the world may suffer from dire consequences.
Yagi looks around the beach park that had been reduced into a dump, and couldn't help but think to himself. 'Huh, if I had found a successor before the school year started, this would've been the perfect place to train them.'
It was only early afternoon so he had time to kill before he goes back to being All Might, despite only having about an hour left in his hero form today.
He didn't realize, that in just a few moments, his Quirk wouldn't be the most powerful thing on the beach anymore.
As he stares at the various amounts of garbage on the beach, he suddenly hears a female voice ring out to his right.
"You… brought me to a dump?"
He looks in the direction of the voice and sees two young teens looking out into the dump as well. The boy was rather plain looking with diamond-shaped freckles on his cheeks and curly dark green hair, he was wearing a white shirt with the word 'shirt' written on it and simple pants with red shoes, the girl had pink dreadlocks and she had yellowish eyes with crosshairs in the middle, and she was wearing a simple black top and green pants with black boots. Both of them were carrying a toolbox each.
Yagi felt like he should know those two from somewhere.
The boy shrugged and answered her question with a simple, "Yup".
The girl looked at him in silence before screaming so abruptly that Yagi nearly had a heart attack, and what she said didn't help matters.
"This is perfect! Think of all the Babies we could make here!"
*PFFT*
Yagi spat out blood in surprise.
'B-Babies!? What the heck are kids doing these days!?' Yagi mentally shouted as he wipes off the blood from his mouth.
"Hatsume, what did I say about phrasing? People might think that we're making something else other than Support Items." The boy said exasperatedly.
"Hm? Like what Midoriya?"
"You know like… You know what, never mind."
'Ah, that's what she meant'
He calmed down as he realized that by 'babies', she meant Support Items. Suddenly he remembered where he knew the two from.
'Wait, Midoriya and Hatsume? I remember those names, didn't Power Loader mention having nightmares about those two?'
It happened around the time of the Hero Course Exam, Power Loader just went into the monitoring room with a bottle of alcohol in hand and dread in his eyes and posture.
The man looked like he barely had an ounce of sleep, and he probably lost more after his conversation with Nezu about them.
FLASHBACK
Yagi and the other teachers were just waiting around in the monitoring room for the exam. The written portion had just finished so now they were only waiting for the students to change and get to their designated test areas.
They were now only waiting for Power Loader, which was a bit odd according to Nezu. All Might hadn't started teaching yet so he didn't know, but according to the Principal, Power Loader was usually a very responsible teacher. He's usually one of the teachers that arrive early.
Thankfully, they didn't have to wait long as he walked in 20 minutes before the practical exam started.
Principal Nezu greeted him. "Oh hello Power Loader, you sure took your time. Any reason for your-" He paused as he takes in Power Loader's appearance.
Everyone else also pauses to take him in.
Quite frankly, he looked awful. His eyes were tired, his hair was messy, his helmet wasn't put on correctly, and his clothes were all ruffled.
And he had a half-empty bottle of scotch in his hand.
While everyone else just stared as he made his way to his chair right next to Yagi's, Nezu was the only one that asked what they were all thinking.
"Well don't you look spry this morning?"
His only answer was a grunt.
Nezu hummed. "Problem with the examinees yesterday?"
Power Loader sighed and said, "You have no idea."
Everyone calmed down a bit after hearing that. Problem children have always been an issue in the entrance exams, he probably just had a few rowdy students.
The Principal took a sip of his tea and swerved around to look at him, his hands crossed as he patiently waited for him to say what the problem was.
He sighed. "Well, we're about to have two students in UA, and they might just be the death of me."
Nezu raised an eyebrow at that. "Oh? But the other teachers still haven't judged the inventions themselves, and you already think two have passed?"
He ruefully chuckled. "Trust me, both of them will pass. Hell, you'd love one of 'em."
Nezu smirked at that. "Really now? What makes you think that?"
"Well, the first one will cause me a lot of headaches, but her work ethic is unbelievable, on her own she's a pain but tolerable. But combined with the second one?"
He shivered in place. "That kid is an absolute genius boss. I had to talk to him after the exam was done just so he could explain to me exactly what he made, and even then I still barely understand. I'm not even sure if there's anything I can teach him at this point."
Well, that's quite a claim.
Yagi joined the conversation and reassured Power Loader. "Oh, I'm sure there's plenty of things you can teach him, what did he make?" Nezu also listened to know.
He then sighed, and said, "I doubt it'd be easy to believe."
Nezu brushed it off. "Oh nonsense, with the current world anything is possible, so what did this young genius of yours create?"
Power Loader sighed again and reluctantly explained what was made.
Yagi was experiencing a major sense of deja vu from this because he had no idea what was being said. He was reminded of the old days when his friend David Shield would explain to him how something works, but since Yagi wasn't a technology expert, everything said goes in one ear and exits the other.
He hears a lot of words like 'learning algorithm' and 'artificial learning curve' all being combined into a jumble of techno talk that he couldn't comprehend. So he did what he used to do with David, look at the other person listening in and hope they could understand what was being said.
The good news was based on his expression, Principal Nezu did know what was being described.
The bad news was the smile on his face could only be described as sadistic glee.
The moment Power Loader was done, he had gained everyone else's attention as well because he talked for so long. Though everyone also noticed the smile on the Principal's face. They all felt a chill go down their spine, even Aizawa in the far corner hunched into himself.
Suddenly, Nezu started to chuckle, it started low at first, then it gradually started getting louder.
And louder.
Then it evolved into laughter.
The laughter that Nezu is infamous for.
Everyone in the room felt terror seep into their veins as they hear Nezu's laugh. Whatever he learned from Power Loader, Yagi wasn't sure if it was good for the world or would bring about its early demise.
And poor Power Loader, he just looked blankly at Nezu laughing, a hint of fear and acceptance in his posture. He looks like a man that knew that the end was coming and accepted his fate.
END FLASHBACK
Yagi fought back a shiver as he recalled Nezu's outburst.
He asked Power Loader later after the exam to dumb down what the student had created.
'Actual working Artificial Intelligence? Man, what Dave would do to meet the creator.'
"Should I be worried and call the cops old man? You've been staring at me for a while."
He was brought out of his musing by Midoriya's voice, the boy was staring at him with a look of mirth, and something else.
Then his words finally sunk in.
*PFFT*
He spat out blood again in surprise.
Midoriya leaned back slightly. "Woah! You alright there buddy? I was just kidding you know, you look way too skinny to be a pedophile."
Not sure if he should take that as an insult, he wiped his mouth and spoke. "I'm fine young man, no need to concern yourself."
"You sure?" Midoriya asked with a raised eyebrow. "Because you just spat out blood while looking like you haven't eaten in months. Anyone seeing you right now would be very concerned."
He raised his hand to ease off the boy's worries. "Don't worry about it, I'm used to it."
Midoriya stared at him for a few more moments before shrugging and looking back out into the dump, Yagi sees Hatsume running around the dump and taking random pieces of broken machines and scrap to pile them into a clearing. He can also hear her talking to a phone in her hand, asking for directions.
He blinked in surprise when he sees her carrying an entire washing machine easily, then putting it down on the pile.
"Stronger than she looks isn't she?" Midoriya unknowingly said what he was thinking.
"It's rather surprising, she could probably even surprise a Pro Hero with her strength."
He knows he was, it was a little off-putting to see such a young girl pick up a fridge as she did.
"By the way, I think I saw you on the day of the Support Course Entrance Exam for UA when we were being escorted to the practical exam room. Are you a teacher at UA or something?"
All Might had expected a question like this to inevitably pop up, after all, he had to get in UA without his muscle form on the off chance he was out of time. So he already thought of a cover.
"I'm just a faculty member there, I don't teach anything. I just help the teachers with minor tasks."
"Oh, well pleased to meet you… uh… you know I never got your name old man, or do you prefer I just call you that?"
Yagi chuckled. "No, I prefer to be called by my name, which is Toshinori Yagi by the way."
"Izuku Midoriya." He introduced himself.
Yagi already knew his name, but it'd be rude to just call someone by their name before they introduce themselves. "Pleased to meet you young Midoriya."
"So what are you doing out here Mr. Yagi?"
"Just reminiscing about my younger days."
"Wow… that's… exactly what an old man would've said."
"I…" Yagi raised a finger to say a counterpoint but stopped himself when he realized Midoriya was right. "... Guess your right. God, I'm getting old."
"Don't sweat it old man," Midoriya called him by his nickname again and pointed at himself. "And hell, if you're lucky you might even be able to get younger thanks to me, after all, you're looking at the future greatest scientist of all time."
Yagi chuckled. "Hehe, well regardless if that's true or not, I doubt there's a science that could help cure what I have."
If there was then he wouldn't have needed to find a successor so urgently.
Midoriya shrugged his shoulders. "You never know, science has stagnated a bit for the past hundred years but I plan to make up for the lost time."
"Well, I wish you luck on that young Midoriya."
Midoriya lightly scoffed. "Luck? I don't believe in luck, I only believe in hard work."
Hatsume piped in while taking apart a broken-down car. (Who just throws a car into a dump?) "Midoriya! ASIA's asking me where you are! Come comfort your baby!"
"Coming Hatsume!" Midoriya yelled before speaking to him again. "Well, it was nice meeting you sir and I hope that when I get into UA I'll get to see you again. I gotta go before she accidentally blows something up, so I guess I'll be seeing you around Mr. Yagi, but just remember,"
He clenched his fist and said passionately, "Watch me at UA, because I WILL become the greatest scientist in the world, and I may not become a hero and I might not have a Quirk, but I know my work will improve the lives of everyone on earth. I will make the world a better place. Just like All Might did, and I'll do it with a smile on my face."
And with that, Midoriya walked away to help Hatsume create whatever invention she was making. Yagi couldn't help but stare at his retreating back, the passion in his claim and voice was strong. It reminded him of Dave's daughter, and he just knew in his heart, that the boy would make his claims come true.
'Alright young Midoriya, I'll watch you. Perhaps one day, even though you're Quirkless, you might become my successor's sidekick like Dave was to me.'
All Might then walked away, planning to use his remaining 1 hour of Quirk use to save just a few more lives. He had been anxious these past few weeks, with Lady Nagant's escape from Tartarus and the rise of villain activity brought on by Viktor's debut. But his conversation with Midoriya had lifted the weight in his heart a tiny bit. His drive to help the world was a reassuring feeling.
'With people like young Midoriya in the world, I just know that even after I'm gone, there is still hope for the future.'
+/+
'He was just as skinny as I remembered.'
Midoriya thought to himself as he went next to Hatsume as she asked ASIA question after question.
'Seeing him again though, after so many years, it was almost nostalgic. The last time I saw him, I told him to his face as he was dying that Quirks were nothing but crutches for humanity, One for All was nothing but the spirits of dead heroes forcing their fate into another, and his successor was going to die the same way. I still sort of think that but age has given me more insight into the nature of heroism. The heroism that he had been preaching was never going to work long term, he may have meant well, but people are manipulative. But don't worry All Might, I'll make sure to achieve true peace.'
His face didn't show a hint of what he was thinking as he spoke to Hatsume.
"So, what did you ask ASIA to do?"
She looked at him with a manic look in her eyes.
"ASIA's amazing! I asked her to scan the dump and tell me where I could find everything I needed to make a baby and she did it all in seconds! She talked like she was alive and even told me where to find the extra parts needed to complete it! She scanned the internet for stores where I could find-"
And there she goes.
ASIA's voice cut her off before she could speak for the next 10 minutes. "Ms. Hatsume, might I suggest slowing down your speech speed so my father could understand you?"
Thankfully, that quieted her down, but she was still practically vibrating in place.
'Yeesh, it's like she's on a constant sugar rush.'
"Ok, tell me what you want to make, and do it slowly this time."
She wanted to make a robot body for ASIA to move around in. Midoriya can just make a near-indestructible one for her if the need for it ever arises, but he wanted to see what Hatsume could come up with on her own.
He asks ASIA for her opinion. "Well, ASIA, what do you think of this?"
"While I am quite comfortable with operating without a physical form, there are over 1,000 possible tasks that I could help you with if I had a body. I conclude that creating a body for me is the right approach for my growth."
"See! Even your baby thinks this is a good idea!"
He shrugs then told her, "Alright, fair enough, so how can I help?"
"I just need some help in breaking apart some of these broken-down machines. We can't get started with her body yet but we can prepare most of the materials we might need."
He nodded and looked at all the trash she had piled. They were all stacked up at a height of nearly 15 feet tall.
'Man, she sure is motivated.'
"Well, let's get started then." He said as he picked up a broken television from the bottom of the pile.
And so, they spent hours breaking all the scrap down and disassembling some of the other machines for useful parts.
4 Hours Later
Hatsume stretched her back as she got up from a crouch. A few small snaps were heard from her back after being in a crouched position for a while. She gave a small sigh of relief.
*Sigh* "We finally got done with most of the things we need here. Now we only need some extra parts from the department stores, but we could get started on that another time."
She then faced him. "And we completed this much all thanks to you!"
Midoriya also got up and stretched his neck and back as well. A few small cracks were heard.
"And don't forget ASIA."
"But I do not have a body yet, I did not help with all the scraps."
Midoriya waved a hand to wave her off. "Ah semantics, you also helped us find the parts we needed from this dump so you helped too ASIA."
"I see… in that case, thank you, father."
She giggled at ASIA's response, she believed the existence of an AI easier than anyone else but she was also one of the most excited ones to learn about her. The entire time they were working, she asked him and ASIA exactly how she was built, they gave her vague answers of course but she swore that she'll figure out ASIA's secrets.
Midoriya covered his face with the front of his shirt to wipe off the sweat, briefly showing his six-pack abs to the open air.
The reaction was quick and completely involuntary, Hatsume's eyes drifted down to the exposed sweaty muscles. She hadn't paid much attention before, but Midoriya was a lot more fit than she thought.
When Midoriya put his shirt back down, Hatsume was looking at his face again with just a hint of pink on her cheeks.
'Oh? So she enjoyed the show huh?'
Slightly smirking, he asked her a question. "So, when are you free again?"
"Huh?" She asked confused before her brain caught up again with their conversation. "Oh! Right!" She cleared her throat a bit awkwardly before answering. "I'm free next Saturday."
"Great!" He had a wide smile on his face. "You can get started with the main blueprint for ASIA's body and I'll bring the hardware we'll need."
"Sounds good." She then smiled at him, not like one of her manic ones, but a genuine smile of happiness. Midoriya thinks it looked good on her.
"I had a lot of fun today Midoriya, I… don't know a lot of people, but I enjoy hanging around with you."
He gave her a smile back. "It's fine, I liked working with you too. So, see you next Saturday, same time?"
She nodded. "Yep, don't be late! See you then Midoriya!" She said as she started jogging away at a brisk pace.
Midoriya didn't move from his spot and crossed his arms, an amused expression on his face. A few seconds later Hatsume came jogging back.
She stopped in front of him and held out his phone. "Hehe, sorry I almost brought this home with me." She scratched the back of her head, embarrassed.
He simply took it off her hands and said, "Thank you. Say goodbye ASIA."
"Goodbye, Ms. Hatsume." ASIA's robotic voice sounded out.
"Goodbye ASIA!" She replied before jogging away again, this time not coming back.
"I like her father."
"Yeah, so do I."

'Soooo… how was the date?' Kaina asked Izuku 2 through their mental link.
'It wasn't a date Kaina, that comes later.'
'Pssh, pussy.'
'I will give you a fucking aneurysm.'
'Nyeh.' Instead of being scared, she just sent him a mental image of her sticking her tongue out.
Izuku 2 sighed and just gave up in trying to convince her, instead, he started focusing on his older counterpart. Both of them were at home base after Kaina assassinated another Pro Hero off the Japanese census.
Izuku 1 was currently paying attention to a screen from a machine that's printing a bunch of small action figure-sized robots. They were all human-shaped, but the similarities with humans stopped there. While the entire robot was made of special flexible shock absorbing carbon-based alloy, its limbs, joints, torso, head, back, and chest were armored with pieces of lightweight strengthened titanium that doesn't impede the robot's movements but provide solid protection. The head protection has two metal horns that curve backward in its head and a mouthguard on the lower face, the eyes were currently off. All pieces of armor were colored a scarlet red and every other part of it was colored a charcoal black.
Their titanium gauntlets had blasters on the back of the wrists that fire energy beams and hidden blades at the front of the wrists, jet boosters on their armored feet, and hidden shoulder-mounted miniature missile launchers that fire small heat-seeking missiles. There were 50 robots inside the machine.
'So how's the development on the droids?' Izuku 2 asked him.
"Just one moment…" He replied as he waited for the process to complete. As soon as the screen read 100% he opened it and took out one of the small robots.
He walked to the center of the room and put down the robot so it was standing on the floor.
Then with a quick mental command, the robot turned on, its eyes glowed red, and it suddenly grew in size. It was now standing at a daunting 6'5 feet.
"They're working just fine." Izuku 1 said.
'How many do we have now?'
"250 overall, we could have 1,000 before the school year even starts."
'How about their durability?'
Instead of answering him immediately, Izuku 1 simply said, "Kaina." Then she whipped out her pistol and shot 8 bullets directly at the robot, each bullet bounced off the robot and fell slack to the ground.
"The durability is good."
'And the weapons?'
Izuku 1 then smiled and looked out onto the side of the base where 200 of the previously mentioned 250 robots were currently on standby, taking up a small part of the base.
"How about we give those an actual field test? About 5 should be enough right?"
100 Follows? Well, holy shit.
Fact: My previous ideas for this fic was much, much darker. Future Midoriya was supposed to kill his younger self and take up his identity. Then he just did whatever the hell he wanted, consequences be damned.
