Chapter 13 - Perfect Performance

The day had arrived sooner than anyone could have anticipated. The fireworks sounded outside, and the tension stirring up for the first match had everyone trying to level their mindsets for the battle ahead. Yuki sat on the table swinging her legs as Mina complained about having to wear their gym clothes but Yuki didn't mind, covering her body with SIVA would cover it anyway.

Iida then stormed into the room, stern and strict as ever. "Everyone get your game faces on! We're entering the arena soon!"

This brought everyone in to nervously prepare themselves, but all of them were in good spirits. Who could blame them? They were first years that had a run-in with real villains and now everyone was gunning for them due to that experience, in return, they had gained more from the USJ Incident than they realized. But Yuki was worried, knowing she had to fight people she had grown to care for, in all their own odd and funny ways, she liked them, almost making it hard to face them down later but that was to be expected.

Taking a moment to correct her thoughts Yuki hadn't realized Izuku was trying to catch her attention. She blinked, almost speaking as her throat screamed at her, causing the mute to cough for a second, clutching the tender scar while Izuku reached over to pat her back, offering a simple smile.

"Are you okay?" She nodded, making a cutting motion across her throat for a second

"Augh, why did I do that!? I haven't done that in so long..." Shaking the thoughts SIVA alerted her to someone's approach. Of all people she never expected it to be the blunt Todoroki, his cold eyes glancing between them, he was here for something, that much is obvious

"Midoriya, Azuru," He spoke up evenly, hand in his pocket

"Hey, Todoroki, what's up?" Izuku spoke, surprised he was speaking with them while Yuki waved once to him, her legs still swinging out from the table. He never spoke often, say for when she heard his voice during her Quirk rampage

"From an objective standpoint, it's very clear I'm stronger than you." He didn't miss a beat as everyone watch them with keen eyes. Todoroki noted Yuki's straighten posture, glancing to her. "I saw first hand your power, though whether you can control it I guess is a different story."

She rolled her eyes. 'You have someone mess with your head, tell me how you feel?' Yuki retorted sarcastically, at least that's how he saw the way she moved and even her eyes displayed no sign of aggression

Izuku himself didn't deny it, Todoroki was a powerhouse in his own right, while Izuku had a footing on One For All he had his own motives for this game, it was risky but if he were to use it on Todoroki he'll probably wipe the floor with him, something he had to overcome later down the line. "I have a promise to make so I better play my cards right."

"However, you both have All Might in your corner, helping you out." That had them freeze a little while some started to murmur between them, Yuki held out a note

'And? I don't see why that's an issue. It's not like we've been given any sort of special privileges?' Yuki was quick to rebound his question, she was right though, he had no real facts to back that up other than how Izuku and Yuki acted around All Might, perhaps this was to do with their Quirks but he didn't know for sure. 'I've had to struggle myself to get here, and you've seen Izuku when he fights. Today is depending on us and our choices' His gaze twitched a little with honest surprise

Yuki hopped down, walking up to him to pat his shoulder. 'I know you're strong, that's undeniable, but I'll be bringing my all against everyone here, friend or not. I'm asking this simply to repay for you helping me back at the USJ, so here' She handed him a note and left with a wave, leaving Izuku to face the uncertainty alone

"Yuki was so confident. But it's not as if I'm helpless anymore," He tightened his fists, seeing Todoroki's eyes shift to uncertainty before looking back at Izuku with a cold leer. "I'm going to show the world who I am, but I have to reach Yuki to do that, even if it's against Todoroki, I won't fail this time!" "I get it, you're only here to say you'll beat us, but come on, that was obvious from the start..."

"Hey, Yuki?" He was hesitant about asking but she looked to him while they jogged. "I want to promise you something... but... I'm not sure if you'll agree."

They stopped for a second, the mask waiting to hear him out. Whatever it was Yuki could see the anxious emotion hanging over him. "Well... I don't want to use One For All until I face you at the Festival." She blinked, a little taken back by that crazy plan. "I know its selfish and that you've spent so much time training me to use it but I don't feel right showing off my progress at the beginning," He kept his head low, biting his lip. "I... I want to fight you with this power before anyone else!"

She didn't move, not really knowing how to answer that. It was clearly bugging him, but such a handicap might end up being his downfall. Even so, Izuku isn't the kind of person to make such a reckless claim without living up to it, again, something she found admirable about him. Hunching over to look from below she held out her hand.

He slowly took it, being pulled immediately into her arms as she buried him into her shoulder, hugging him close. She wanted to speak, to tell him directly but with downcast eyes, she knew it wasn't possible, and using SIVA to say it wouldn't feel the same, so she held him close, hoping this gave him the answer he needed.

"She offered me her hand, even without saying it..." Izuku looked into his eyes directly, no longer hesitant. "I know you're stronger than me... which is why I will beat you, because if I have to fight my way to keep a promise I've made then so be it." His own vow against Todoroki had him caught off guard, but his gaze remained sturdy

This response only drew Todoroki's mind back to a few seconds prior. "'I don't know anything about you, maybe that's my fault, I'm unsure, but I can see it, you're doing this out of the simplicity of spite, against who and why, again, I'm unsure. Take my advice or don't, but... if you're trying to prevent yourself from becoming someone else, you might just end up as a variant of that same spite'. Does she know somehow? No... how could she?"

Outside the room, Yuki had put her head against the wall, thumping her forehead off the wall to try and think clearly. Todoroki was volatile, something about how he acts, especially today, is pouring off a level of spite and hatred she had never seen before, it was quite transparent that this Festival isn't going to be all fun and games. Lately, Yuki had been frustrated, mainly about herself and her role with One For All, with Izuku.

She closed her eyes, trying to focus on the task at hand but nothing worked. Between the tension with Todoroki, Izuku's development which she was happy about, and with what occurred at the USJ and the threat of Shinso it was all starting to build and she couldn't place any of it correctly in her head. Then there was a single, glaring thought that persisted. "Am I... just standing in All Might's shadow? I've grown so much, but all thanks to him, I told Izuku to do the very thing I haven't done... am I really just fooling myself?"

"For someone so eager to jump into the middle of a group of thugs, you're awfully bad at hiding your feelings," She slumped further, seeing Mummy Head watching her slide down the wall in defeat. "This is it, huh? Finally reached your limits?"

Yuki merely shrugged, looking down at her knees. Mr. Aizawa continued, words sharp and precise under all those bandages. "You took a beating that would otherwise kill anyone else, but something insignificant has got you down," He continued to berate her. "So are you going to sit there and sulk like some brat or are you going to get up and give me a reason as to why you should still be a hero?"

'I can see why you're not a counselor' Yuki sat up, looking directly into his covered eyes, but saw through a crack, his leer piercing her own. 'I'm just confused, about my place alongside those I care about. Though I have to wonder, why are you here?'

"To put the fear of expulsion into my students." Yuki lightened up a bit, then stood up. "So then, what will you do next? Stand on your own or stand in someone else's shadow?" Her eyes widened a bit, did he actually figure it out? His hand just rubbed the top of her head, moving to place her back at the side of the door. "Make your choice already or you'll be left behind."

Yuki clicked her fingers. "Kick everyone's asses and show everyone I can become a hero, that, I am sure of." Yuki had alot left to think about, but she'd do that when the situation arose if she distracted herself now it would be her downfall. Izuku could handle himself, if he wanted to wait for her then he obviously has a plan

Mr. Aizawa crossed his arms. "You brats are the sole reason I'll have grey hair..." He sighed, then pushed the door open to frighten them all again, meanwhile Yuki nudged his side, holding out a final note

'You don't look as intimidating wrapped up in toilet paper' That earned a slap from his scarf. She pouted. 'You're no fun' "But again, thank you, sir."

All of Class 1-A stood at the entrance to the arena, the crowd being pumped up by President Mic while the class stood by waiting eagerly to enter. Izuku and Yuki stood side-by-side, with Izuku looking to the absentminded Yuki. Hesitating he grabbed her hand again to snap her out of it, the glow of her eyes looking down for a moment then back to the timid Izuku who held back his anxiety.

"You okay?" She nodded. For a moment the two stared at one another, lost until they were finally announced, both not actually letting go of one another as they walked toward the light of their next challenge. "I'll see you at the end, I promise, Yuki." "I'll prove I can stand by you now."

He never realized it, but Yuki was thinking the exact same thing as the light faded away, and the crowd erupted at the entrance. The fireworks flashed in the sky as the crowd nearly drowned out Izuku's nervous voice, even with Yuki trying to pat him on the shoulder to stay calm, she was starting to get excited though.

"I hope we're still able to give our best performance even with all these eyes watching us. I suppose its another aspect of being a hero we have to get used to." Iida murmured with confidence, while Izuku continued to crumble a little, the group standing before a podium on the grass

Coming out from the other gates were Class 1-B. The Business Study Courses C, D, and E too. There were the Support Classes F, G, and H. And last being General Business I, J and K. Yuki knew there were alot of students but this was the first time she could see a variety among the Fist Years, alot looked rather plain and uninteresting, something she had to focus on not thinking lightly of.

"Some of them couldn't make it into our courses, so for all we know one can be really powerful in other regards," A shiver made Yuki keep her composure. "If there's an electric, metal, or magnetism Quirk I might be in trouble."

~GIVE A LOUD WELCOME TO OUR FIRST YEAR CONTESTANTS!~

Midnight was on stage, and... in quite the costume as far as Yuki could see. But that wasn't her major concern, hers was dead-set on the Dumb-Dumb beside her, who happened to be the First Year Representative, despite his hotheaded nature, she had to give credit to him, he did finish first in the Entrance Exam and had a great score on the written test too.

"Now, everyone! For the student Pledge," Yuki gulped at that. "We have, Katsuki Bakugo!" All their heads spun to the silent time-bomb who walked toward the stage

"He's the First Year Rep...?" Izuku gulped

"Well, I guess he did finish first in the Entrance Test," Sero whispered, with Yuki nodding

"He's a Dumb-Dumb but does take things seriously...' They all hummed in agreement, a girl in one of the other classes muttering something about 'Only for the Hero Course'. They all slumped. "Oh yeah, they hate us, thanks Dumb-Dumb."

"That girl obviously hates us..." Sero winced with Kaminari adding from over Yuki's shoulder

"Yeah, and we got Bakugo to thank for them not liking our class." It was sad but true. Yuki craned herself over to poke Ochaco with pleading eyes written on her mask

'Please tell me you advised him on this?' Ochaco blinked, then her mouth twitched with worry at Yuki's words, trying to smile

"Ehehehe... was that the plan?" Yuki turned white and rigid while nearly crushing Izuku's hand

"HOW COULD SHE FORGET!?" Static tore across her eyes and she shoved her face into Izuku's shoulder, whimpering a what was about to happen

~I JUST WANT TO SAY . . . I'M GOING TO WIN~

"I KNEW HE'D SAY SOMETHING LIKE THAT!" All of the class thought with fear over the other classes

"Why would you say something so disrespectful, you're representing us all!?" Iida waved his hand at Kacchan who turned around dully, not minding the fact he started a wave of insults

"Not my fault the rest are all just stepping stones to my victory." He gave a thumbs down and had enticed rage to bubble among the crowd

"Duh-Duh-Duh, we're dead, his strive to become number one involves all of us being targetted, well played." Yuki was mad and disappointed. Giving Izuku an assuring squeeze with her hand the two braced themselves for what's to come

The game was revealed after a scroll on the screens. "Ta-Da! All eleven classes will participate in the treacherous contest. Obstacle Race! A race of four kilometers outside the stadium!" Midnight then licked her lips with a crack of her whip. "I don't want to restrain anyone. Atleast in this game."

Izuku felt Yuki shiver at that, himself not feeling all that great either. "As long as you don't leave the course you're free to do whatever your heart desires!" That got the crowd going wild while the monitor displayed the track, but nothing as to what was in their way. "Now students, take your places!"

Everyone stood by the large red door, watching the lights as they lit up green. Yuki felt her heart racing, it was time for her to prove she can be a hero, her friends taught her so much, despite being enemies now, she'd do it for all of them. "For everyone here, I'll see them at the finish line. Akame. Mr. Aizawa. All Might. Izuku... mom... dad... Nana..." Holding back on a few tears, Yuki let go of Izuku's hand and tapped her fist to his arm

*BEEP!*

Yuki didn't move at first, letting the hallway crowd with people who pushed and shoved to get through the gate first, all while Izuku was swept away, much to her amusement since he looked really psyched too.

~AND WE'RE OFF TO A RACING START! HOW ABOUT SOME COLORFUL COMMENTARY, MUMMY MAN!?~

"Oh My God he roped Mummy Head in." Yuki held her hand to her mask, trying to keep her composure while she waited diligently for her opening, taking a moment to stretch and breath calmly

~WHAT SHOULD WE PAYING ATTENTION TO IN THE EARLY STAGES OF THE RACE?~

~The Doorway...~

~YEAH... THEY DIDN'T THINK THIS THROUGH, DID THEY?~

Yuki froze among her stretches, snapping her head up at the commentary booth. While unable to see who it was, she knew that voice. No way... she wouldn't...

~OOPS, SORRY, I COULDN'T HELP IT, HEHEHE, SHE'S GONNA BE SO MAD...~

~I AM ALSO JOINED BY THE SKY COMET HERO, VALSTRAX!~

~AWESOME TO BE HERE!~

Yuki's mom was here... she pinched her nose then saw that the way forward had been coated in ice, alerting her to what she had waited for. "I can worry later, focus, Yuki! Tune out the crazy, tune it out..." Slow breaths came to her, and SIVA flowed fluently. "And damn right I'm mad you liar!"

SIVA | Enhance | Five Percent

She sped off, leaping onto the heads of the crowd now frozen to the ground, making easy work of the tunnel as the ice continued to splay out from the doorway, Todoroki had gained the lead. Yuki stomped down on the ice, breaking it apart while freeing the competitors she quickly and effortlessly cleared the first challenge. Her experience with the News Break-in had come in handy.

"I didn't expect so many people to dodge that, especially from other classes - Huh?" Yuki came out of nowhere, skating alongside Todoroki who frowned back at her, she just kept a humorous gaze with a note too

'Nice trick, I was waiting for you to do that' That had him off guard again, how she did that irritated him. 'Thanks for the chance to skate ;)'

Yuki then blinked and grabbed Todoroki, both coming to a grinding halt as a metal arm slammed into the ground before them. Both peered up and saw an army of the same piles of scrap used in the Entrance Exam. This time in a far greater number than before.

"So this is what they meant." Todoroki hummed, Yuki kicking the robot away as they both stood by and let the robots gather. "Why waste your time saving me from that attack?" His inquisitive look was met with another, annoying, note

'Classmate? Enemy? So what? Won't really matter if you end up injured off the starting line, right?' Her honest stare and answer were enough for Todoroki not to glare in her direction, both of them seeing four of the Zero-Pointers guarding the way ahead. Yuki put her hands together. 'I'm really curious about the financial budget of this school'

~A TEST OF STRENGTH AND CUNNING! IT'S A ROBO-INFERNOOOO!~

"So this is what everyone else faced in the entrance exams..." Todoroki added, the shadow cast over the crowd by the larger machines while discord ran through-out the crowd, but he didn't have time to gawk, while the others were left in shock, he had a chance to pull ahead. "This is where we part ways, Azuru." "They obviously put in alot of effort but I wish they added something a little more difficult. Especially since my dear old dad is watching..."

"Wow, ego-trip much...?" Yuki deadpanned while a typhoon of ice swept across Todoroki and to her shock and the crowd he brought forth a hurricane of ice that tore through the air like a snowstorm, freezing the middle machine in place with a flick of his wrist as Yuki shivered from the contact of being near him. "...His dad? Hmm..."

~THAT'S TODOROKI FROM CLASS 1-A PULLING AHEAD WITH AN EARLY LEAD WITH A DEVASTATING DISPLAY! AMAZING! HE'S ONE WE SHOULD WATCH! IT ALMOST SEEMS UNFAIR! THOUGHTS!?~

~His attack was both offense and defensive~

~BUT NOT EVERYONE WAS SO ILL PREPARED~

Yuki smirked at that, having felt her body undergo its transformation with the aid of that one robot she knocked out of the way before Todoroki froze them all. She wasn't going to play nice, she swore her friends were enemies too, while that rubbed her the wrong way this is a battle to the top. So while she saved Todoroki she also saved herself alot of time.

"When I use SIVA, I can manipulate metal too, tech is my playground and so the higher the percentage I'm gauged at, the faster I can consume, replicate, and enhance machines. At the moment my hand made contact with the robot I sent forth a SIVA cluster to break down its insides for me." Yuki thought to herself, grinning while the smoke hid her from the sight of the other robots, all while Yuki felt her mom speak to her directly, even if it were through a mic

~The students of UA are meant to be the best of the best, so even if someone is recommended by others, don't count out those that watch from the sidelines~

The sunlight gleamed off of Yuki, coming out of the mushroom cloud, displaying to the students and the world who she was, and how she will get to the top!

SIVA | Enhance | Fifteen Percent

While her hands and feet have turned to metal, alongside an increase in red aura, attached to her back came a burst of red energy from a thruster she augmented to her own shoulder blades. The arms of the robot had been strapped with wires and infected with webbings of SIVA, tainting the metal a darker green while Yuki flew higher than any of the machines, breaking the sound barrier as her foot came spiraling from the right, her shin crashing through the neck of two massive Zero-Pointers, clearing the path for some while giving her the time to press her feet to their bodies, taking off with another sonic boom that broke apart the metal with an inferno.

SIVA | Augment | Blackbird

With a burst of red energy from her calves, she sped down the spine of one of the large machines, blades tearing through the vertebrae while reaching faster speeds than she could with just speed modifiers alone. Her body tore across the ice, sending a wave of snow and red lightning toward her back as she sped off, the armor starting to fall away, leaving behind the original effects of SIVA.

~I KNOW ITS A LITTLE BIAS BUUUT... GOOOO YUKI OF CLASS 1-A!~

While flying through the air with pulse blasts from her palms, she quickly spun in the air, spotting Todoroki who watched from over his shoulder as Yuki held up a peace sign to her left eye, landing with a tumble to her feet while she ran to the far left of Todoroki, the sound of explosions coming in from behind.

"So she can manipulate metal too?" Todoroki thought while skating ahead, eyes focused on the track but every-now-and-then his thoughts raced back to her messages. "...How are you the same girl that nearly lost to a villain? Or am I fooling myself into thinking you hadn't learned from that moment?"

The next roadblock came in the form of a massive bottomless pit dotted with pillars and wires connecting them. Since Todoroki and Yuki were still in first place, they took their own measures of crossing as the rest soon caught up. Yuki used her enhanced legs to propel herself across the shorter gaps, clearing the pillars at a reasonable pace than trying to balance herself over wires, plus, that stuff made her feel sick just looking at being on a bungee cord.

~IN THE WORLD OF HEROES IT CAN BE HARD TRYING TO GET POPULAR WITHOUT A FLASHY QUIRK. RIGHT ERASER HEAD?~

~I don't know what you're talking about, you idiot~

~OOO, DAMN, SHOTS FIRED...*CRACK!*OW, WORTH IT~

Yuki finally made it across, seeing Todoroki already marching up the steps while Kacchan came crashing toward her. She dodged his attack, booting him in the face and propelling herself up the steps with ease. "Get back here you Mute and Icy-Hot Bastards!"

~ANYWAY, IT SEEMS LIKE TODOROKI AND AZURU ARE STILL IN THE LEAD!~

Yuki kept up the pace, even with Kacchan steadily enraged behind her, she didn't care if she got first place here, but being anywhere away from last would be preferable. But somewhere behind her Izuku was still struggling without using Full Cowling, while she appreciated his promise to her, he did say if things started to get bleak he'd use it as to not be booted out immediately.

While deep in thought, Yuki had finally caught up to Todoroki, himself stopped before the next obstacle. She didn't see him warn her to stop in time, that alone surprised her as she set her foot down on something beneath the ground. She blinked and looked to the boy, himself watching her with a single blink. She felt her foot drop by an inch, and she held up a small, white flag.

'Holy shit they planted land mines... 8|' Was all he read as Yuki was thrown high into the air by a plume of pink smoke, her body flying through the air as she landed face-first onto another one, sending her sprawling across the field, bouncing with each landmine she hit, if she could vocally swear she would at how annoying it was while Todoroki took his time passing by her body slamming into the metal railing while shakily standing back up, her feet on solid ground again

*Click*

"SON OF A-" Her body was thrown across the ground again, followed by laughing from the mics

~HAHAHAHA... I-I CAN'T! I'M SORRY, HONEY, BUT, HAHAHA *CRACK*GAH, STOP THAT!~

~This is why you were banned the last time~

~NO, I WAS BANNED BECAUSE I NEARLY THREW YOU THROUGH THE GLASS FOR CONSTANTLY HITTING... OH, NEVERMIND~

~WHILE THE INNER CONFLICT CONTINUES UP HERE! IN THE SAME TIMEFRAME A NEW STUDENT TAKES THE LEAD, THE CROWD IS GOING CRAZY, THERE'S NOTHING BETTER THAN AN UPSET!~

"Oh? So she thinks this is funny... fine then..." Yuki growled to herself, digging her hands into the mud while students passed her, either carefully or via a blast of pink gas. "For now, I'll take a page from Izuku, instead of using SIVA to carefully pinpoint the mines..." She dug up atleast seven in total, grinning madly while flexing her toes. "I'll just use them myself! SIVA Cluster Bomb!"

Her feet crushed the mines, hearing them all click. In a massive consumption of pink, Yuki's body flew across the field, sailing over people's heads from the shockwave of the mega bomb, while she made up for lost time, she wasn't getting close to the front, Kacchan and Todoroki would stop her if she got close, and she was nearly striking the ground again. Gritting her teeth, Yuki braced to use whatever she struck as leverage to move forward, no matter what.

*BOOOOOOM!*

A sudden tug of sound and air propelled her farther again, this time, she landed a few feet from the two, all of the students turned back to see a large mushroom cloud appear, and deep inside Yuki's stomach, she knew that somehow her freckled friend was behind it. "Damn, Izuku... nice." Yuki kicked up a mine to smack Kacchan in the face, blocking his feint from reaching her, just then, President Mic came back.

~WHATEVER THE CASE. CLASS 1-A'S IZUKU MIDORIYA IS IN HOT PURSUIT OF FIRST PLACE!~

No, he wasn't, Yuki smiled brightly and sprinted alongside Kacchan and Todoroki, scanning the field for mines now that there weren't as many to spot among clouds of smoke. Her quick steps kept up with the path of ice and the explosions as Izuku began to lose air.

~SCARTCH THAT, THE LEAD IS HIS!~

"Deku, what the hell do you think you're doing, huh!?" Kacchan growled, Yuki not paying him any mind as she did her best not to be caught in a sheet of ice again, Valstrax then came on the speakers herself

~GUESS NOW THOSE THREE ARE ACTUALLY CHASING DOWN MIDORIYA, WHAT A TWIST OF FATE! THE FIGHT AIN'T OVER YET! I'M FREAKING OUT!~

...Calm Down...~

From where Yuki ran, Izuku was nearly at eye level, he had lost his forward momentum and now came into eye-contact with the three of them. There wasn't the usual face of fear in his eyes, no, she saw the same glint of fearlessness and determination, he had a plan, it was always how he got so far. Resisting the urge to help him, Yuki dove to her right, pushing off her toes to break for the clearing with a final energy blast from her hands, having used up the last for a while.

She watched as he slammed his feet into their backs, smacking that scarp shield onto the ground as another explosion rippled through the air, Izuku fell onto his face, but rolled right back up to take first place from Yuki, she narrowed her eyes, pushing SIVA to run faster as the two became neck-and-neck.

~ERASER HEAD, YOUR CLASS IS AMAZING, WHAT ARE YOU TEACHING THEM!?~

~This has nothing to do with me... Each of them is pushed by their own drive to succeed~

~SO THERE YOU HAVE IT, ERASER HEAD'S A TERRIBLE TEACHER!~

~I - What?~

~YOU KNOW - GAH, STOP HITTING ME OR I'LL CUT YOU!~

While the three had their personal spat, Izuku, Yuki, Kacchan, and Todoroki all used the last of their strengths to push for the light at the end of the tunnel, no one knew who was in first due to the darkness, and hardly any of them could push their powers any further as the light of day flashed into view once again.

~THE FIRST BACK TO THE STADIUM TO BE OUR CHAMPION IS NONE OTHER THAN... IZUKU MIDORIYA!~

The confetti fell like rain, the crowd all around Izuku cheered and clapped just as Yuki came in second, followed by Todoroki and then Kacchan. But his attention was drawn to the crowds of people, more particularly where All Might sat, both of them locked with smiles of triumph written on their faces. "I did it, All Might!" "You did it, kid!"

*Bam!*

Izuku yelped as Yuki swung around with her arms around his neck, pulling him into a tight hug that without any question wrapped his arms around her waist, himself laughing while Yuki closed her eyes, the light curved to show her chuckle, both didn't care or mind their surroundings as they celebrated themselves. Yuki wiped the tears from his eyes, both holding each other close while Yuki lifted her mask to show her radiant smile that had his heart racing.

'You crazy bastard you did it!' She held out to him, himself shaking his head while holding back his tears of joy

"No... we both did it, you were amazing too!" Her eyes rolled, mouth moving to word out, 'Together'. Without another word, the two hugged each other one last time. "Together."

Meanwhile, Todoroki watched the two interact, seeing her body bob as a sign of her laughing with him, making expressions of the battle to claim first place, but he didn't understand it. He knew from how she acted back at the machines that she can easily outclass Midoriya, but she never did. "Why do you believe in him so much? Why are you holding back?" A final thought crossed his mind as Kacchan came to pick a fight with Izuku, but was then tormented by Yuki throwing notes in his face like rubbish. "Who are you, Azuru?"

"I WILL KILL YOU!" Kacchan swore as the paper balls kept striking him from behind Izuku's back, the mirthful stare of Yuki tormenting him while Izuku failed the defuse the tension building

"Deku, Kacchan, Yuki, that was amazing! I can't believe you both came so close to being first or second!" The three were frozen as Ochaco joined them, panting while looking mildly annoyed at herself, while Kacchan seemed to shut himself up, grumbling as he walked away. "Hey, you did really well too, Kacchan!"

"Bite me!" He snapped, but Yuki saw it, he was blushing, oh how cute. Yuki leaned over and nudged her

'I need to keep you around more often when he blows up, you're like a defuser' That brought a laugh between the two girls as Izuku blinked, eyebrow raised

"Well, someone has to, right?" With that, the next game was to be announced

After Yuki and the rest endured more of Midnight's... humor, the second battle had been chosen. Cavalry Battle, something Yuki had to scratch her chin at since she had no idea what that was, she never played it before, but her boiled down version was, form teams of three to five, the person on top can't touch the ground, and that you have to have points by the end of the time limit or you're out, that would narrow down the players by around half.

What had Yuki's eyes slowly broaden larger than her mask was how the values of points increased near the end, while hers was great, the final score had her heart shatter while glass broke on top of a castle of glass that set off glass dominos into a glass cannon.

"-And the point value assigned to the First Place Contestant . . . Ten Million!" Midnight called out loudly, Izuku too heard all the glass that Yuki did, the world had gone still

. . .

. . . . . .

"Ten. Million?" Izuku blinked

"The... fuck?" Yuki tilted her head to the side

Both felt the red glare of monsters surround them, more specifically, Izuku

"That's right, its survival of the fittest for those at the bottom to overthrow the top!" Midnight declared. Izuku hid behind Yuki, who sighed, holding up a tiny white flag again

"Well... today's just a funhouse of horrors."

To Be Continued...
