Everyone was still in awe after what had happened, Izuku had used his impressive speed and abilities to save All Might from a falling rock. Izuku, having used a combination of Full Cowling, with his new Shoot Style, and the braces he got from Mei Hatsumei's work, to create Costume Gamma.
"All Might! Are you alright?" Izuku asked. "Boy, that was close."
"Tell me about it," All Might said. "I'm fine though, thanks."
"Dude Midoriya, what kind of move was that?" Kaminari asked.
"Yeah, you wasted that rock," Kirishima said. "Weird, you strike me as more of a puncher."
"Well, I was," Izuku said. "These new soles I got from Hatsumei have really come in handy, plus Iida helped me hone my fighting style. I still have a lot of work to do before I can make an Ultimate move."
"I wouldn't say that," Gohan said, getting Izuku's attention. "That kick was pretty impressive, and you looked really cool doing it."
"Oh, you really think that sir?" Izuku asked.
"You can just call me 'Gohan'," the hero said. "But yeah, it's not just the kick, it's the way you jumped into action. Even I got caught off guard."
"I agree with Gohan, you might be ready for this test Young Midoriya," All Might said.
"Hey, All Might, maybe you should go," Aizawa suggested. "It's dangerous here and we don't want you getting hurt."
"Yeah, I guess," All Might said, then called up. "Sorry for the scare young Bakugo!"
Izuku seemed to cringe, worried about Bakugo's reaction. Peter and Gohan both sensed something was up, both keeping a close eye on the boy.
Bakugo, despite his genuine worry for the hero he looked up to, eventually left in an explosive huff, "Just watch yourself All Might!"
"Watch yourself huh?" All Might said, looking to his hand. "It makes sense, to everyone else, I'm a weakling now. Someone who needs to be protected."
"Eraser Head, how is that boy's temper?" Gohan asked. "Every time I see him, he seems to be in a bad mood."
"He's managing just fine, it's just him confusing conviction for aggression," Aizawa said.
"Make sure he improves, if he has a rotten attitude out in the real world, he's gonna get his butt handed to him," Peter said. "Kid's talented, but he's just one of many. Every student here has the potential to surpass him, especially Izuku."
"It should be fine, even Vegeta lightened up over the years, somewhat" Gohan said. "Still, that boy has such a chip on his shoulder."
"My guess, he's jealous of Izuku," Peter said. "I daresay that their relationship mirrors your father's relationship with Vegeta."
"My dad and Vegeta?" Gohan asked.
"Katsuku and Vegeta, both prideful warriors who strive to be the best, and will prove it every second, to the point of blind ambition," Peter said. "Then comes along the likes of Izuku and Goku, two cheerful warriors who while their reasons are different, have a similar goal. Izuku wants to be the best hero, Goku wants to be the best martial artist, but they go at it with a more optimistic mindset. When Katsuki and Vegeta feel weak, they get motivated, but angry. When Izuku and Goku feel weak, they just get motivated, but in a way, it excites them because they like working toward a goal."
"That's a great analysis Peter," Gohan said, turning towards Izuku, the boy now conversing with Kirishima and Kaminari again. "I guess he is like dad, the excitement he feels now looks just like how excited my dad is when he fights someone stronger than him."
"So, you guys improved your costumes too?" Izuku asked.
"Yeah, we look awesome, don't we?" Kaminari said.
"We've all been making changes of our own," Kirishima said.
"Just you wait, my new gear's gonna blow your mind," Kaminari said, showing off the device. "It's a serious power boost."
"Hey, Denki," Peter said, getting Kaminari's attention. "That's a cool looking gauntlet you got there, that from UA's Support Group?"
"Oh totally, wanna see Spider-Man?" Kaminari asked. "It'll totally be awesome."
"Go for it," Peter said. "Show me what you got."
"I don't think so!" Came the voice of Vlad King. "It's class B's turn to use the gym."
"Aw, crap timing," Kaminari said.
"Eraser, get your kids out of our way," Vlad King ordered.
"You realize we still have ten minutes left, don't you?" Aizawa said.
"Why separate? This is a great chance to train together, build some bonds between classes," Peter said.
"Yeah, it shouldn't have to be a competition, you're all working toward the same goal," Gohan said. "Even The Avengers and The Justice League team up on occasion."
"Peh, you kids and your naivety," Vlad King said.
"Dude, I'm like four years older than you," Peter pointed out.
"And I'm only four years younger," Gohan explained.
"Hey! Did you hear!" Monama shouted, getting everyone's attention. "The Provisional Exams only have a fifty percent passing rate. So your whole class might fail! AHAHAHAHA!"
"This guy really hates us," Izuku felt.
"The future of heroics," Peter lamented at Monama's condescending attitude.
"Hey wait," Kaminari took note of Monama's tuxedo like suit. "Is that supposed to be his hero costume?"
"Since his quirk is Copy, he felt that he didn't need anything too eccentric," Kendo explained.
"He looks like a secret agent though," Kaminari mused.
"Yo! Neito!" Rina called, the girl walking in dressed in hero gear like that of her father Wolverine. "You really need to chill."
"Oh, of course you'd take their side, traitor," Monama taunted.
"It's been like a week dude, build a bridge and get the hell over it," Rina said.
"You think time will heal this wound? You've disgraced our class with your actions, you will forever be the disloyal member of Class B," Monama said. "Shame upon you."
"Hey, lay off already," came Franklin's voice. "Look, what's done is done, at least she did something to get this class somewhat noticed."
"How nice, maybe next time she can at least try to do so without riding on the coattails of Class A," Monama said.
"Enough Monama," Kendo warned. Truthfully she was just as tired of the traitor talks, she did not condone Rina's actions but she understood them to an extent.
"Hey! Rina!" Izuku called, getting her attention. "Cool costume! It looks just like your father's!"
"I should hope so, it was my inspiration," Rina said. "In this suit, call me Wild Thing!"
"Wild Thing?" Mayday said, showing up in her own new suit, using black design she mentioned before. "I still can't believe you stuck with that name, it's so generic."
"At least I didn't name myself after my father," Rina said.
"Hey, you look more like your dad than I do now," Mayday said. "My suit's black now! Black!"
"Like he had when he had that freakish alien stuck to him?" Rina asked.
"What alien?" Kaminari asked.
"I had an alien stuck to me once," Peter explained. "It was cool at first, until it wasn't. Also I've had black suits without the alien stuff, including a stealth suit."
"That's what Mayday meant about the alien," Izuku realized.
"Sounds like a trip, but what happened to that alien?" Kaminari asked. "Is it still around?"
"Ever hear of Venom?" Peter asked. "That's what the suit became when it latched onto a guy named Eddie Brock."
"Oh yeah, I heard of him...wait that suit was on you!?" Kaminari asked, getting a few confused glares from the others.
"Pretty sure everyone knows this story," Jiro said. "The rivalry between Spider-Man and Venom is classic among superheroes."
"Yeah, some say Venom is up there with The Green Goblin and Doctor Octopus as one of Spider-Man's most deadliest enemies!" Izuku said.
"I mean I get that, but I don't remember Spider-Man having a black suit," Kaminari said. "He usually has this red and blue thing going."
"My suit's had lots of different color schemes over the years, sometimes I whip out my red and black suit. But I usually tend to go back to the classic red and blue," Peter said. "Though there was the time I added some white to it."
"It was an eyesore," Mayday said, to Peter's annoyance.
"I don't know, I think it sounds cool," Izuku tried recalling if he had seen that design or Peter's suit.
"So it's not weird to you that she's using the black design?" All Might asked.
"Not really, it's great for her to change her look up once in a while," Peter said. "Plus she does look cool. An all Black design, like a hero of the night, with the beauty of a Princess. Makes me think of Princess Luna."
"The Night Princess of Equestria?" All Might asked. "Ah yes, I remember her, not much for conversation."
"Hey she's pretty nice, but yeah, she can be a bit strange, to this day she just looks at me with those eyes," Peter said. "Can't tell if she's judging me or she wants to get in bed with me."
"Too much info, Peter," All Might said, getting a sheepish smile from the webbed hero.
Mayday leapt down to Monama, looking him in the eyes, "By the way, I hear you've been giving Rina a hard time, and I don't appreciate that. So I'd dial it back, because only I can mess with her. Also, all of Class A is passing that exam, because my class is top tier. I don't know about you, honestly the best thing you've got so far are Rina and Frankie, for now. Who knows, they might ditch your lame ass class and join Class A."
"Uh, Mayday, it's nice that you believe in us, but maybe you shouldn't put down the other class," Izuku suggested.
"Best listen to that little friend of yours Mayday Parker," Monama said. "Even you may fail that exam."
"Unfortunately, Monama has a point," Tokoyami said. "If we're taking the same exam, we'll crush each other."
"Which is why our classes won't be taking them in the same location," Aizawa said. "We applied to different spots."
"Wait, so I can't take the test with Mayday and Flurry?" Rina asked. "That's bogus, we were gonna get our licenses at the same time!"
"Sorry to burst your bubble, but that won't be happening," Aizawa said.
Peter side eyed Aizawa for that comment, "Wow, how sympathetic..."
"There are two exam days, in June and in September," Vlad King said. "And they're held in three different locations. To avoid fighting, we split you up. Each school has at most one class in a single location."
"What a shame then," Monama said. "We won't get to crush you ourselves. AHAHAHAHA!"
"That guy's officially insane," Kaminari said.
"Kid, if you're gonna be a hero, try not to laugh like you're The Joker," Peter suggested.
"So, we'll be facing kids from other places," Sero said. "That's so surreal."
"And we're taking the test earlier than most other students," Izuku said.
"That's true, very few first years try for their license," Aizawa said. "So you'll be facing kids who've trained longer than you. Ones you don't know about, strong ones. The actual content is a mystery, but you can expect you're gonna have a rough time. Try not to dwell on it, but keep it in mind."
"Yes sir!" The class said.
"Good, now get back to practicing," Aizawa instructed.
"Actually, I have an idea," Peter said, landing in the middle of the training area, placing his mask on. "Everyone, I want you to try to attack me!"
"Say what!?" Kirishima asked, his classmates just as surprised. "You want us to attack you Spider-Man!?"
"That's right, I want you all to try to land a blow, I'm curious as to how good you've all gotten," Peter said.
"This is very unorthaox Spider-Man," Aizawa said.
"Hey it helps their training, plus it could teach them a thing or two about teamwork," Peter said. "A good hero knows how to work with others after all. So everyone, try to coordinate and land a blow on me, you have until Class B gets to use the gym."
"All of us against Spider-Man?" Izuku tapped his chin, trying to think this over. "We should have a numbers advantage, however judging from what I saw the other day, he lasted really well against the League of Villains and The Brotherhood. Even his enemy Scorpion noted how well he does even when outnumbered. I'm not surprised given Spider-Man's previous encounters with various incarnations of The Sinister Six."
"Anyone want to go against the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man?" Peter asked.
"Think we got a chance?" Jiro asked.
"Well, there are a lot of us, and we just need to hit him once right?" Kaminari said. "It should work."
"I'm not entirely sure though," Mina said.
"He is rather confident, something tells me it won't be so easy," Tokoyami said.
"Hey come on? Are you a Class full of heroes? Or are you a Chicken Coop?" Peter taunted.
"Chicken Coop!?" Mina asked.
"Bwak, bwak, bwak!" Peter said, imitating a chicken sound. "Look at me, I'm Class A, and I'm chicken!"
"He can't be serious," most of the class felt.
"Dad, that's so lame!" Mayday shouted.
"Sorry, I don't speak chicken, could you repeat that?" Peter teased.
Mayday immediately cracked her knuckles, "Oh, I'm so gonna take you down a notch, old man!"
"Oof, that really hurt my feelings," Peter sarcastically commented.
"When I'm done, your feelings won't be the only thing hurt, I'm gonna send you crying back to crying back to Aunt May!" Mayday warned.
"No filter even against her own dad," much of the class felt.
"Enough wasting time!" Bakugo said. "I want first crack!"
He lunged in despite protects and tried to attack Peter, her hero dodging and karate chopping Bakugo in the back of the neck, knocking the boy down.
"Too slow!" Peter teased.
Bakugo lifted himself back up, "Dammit! I'm so gonna-"
Peter webbed his mouth shut, Bakugo tried attacking with an explosion punch but Peter effortlessly parried and punched Bakugo to the wall, not too hard to hurt him, and followed up with a web blast to the same wall, leaving an enraged Bakugo restrained.
Feeling satisfied, Peter glanced to the class, "So, who's next?"
"I got this!" Shoto attempted to use his ice to freeze Peter, the hero seemingly encased. "Did that work?"
"Yeah, you got him!" Mina said. "That didn't take too-"
Within seconds, Peter effortlessly broke out, much to Shoto's surprise, "Wow, that's almost as cold as Iceman's, keep it up and you might actually reach his level."
"Alright, how about this!" Shoto tried for fire, Peter using his webs to block the flames. "Impossible!"
"Don't take it too hard, even the Human Torch's fire can't burn this webbing," Peter said, then webbed Shoto, keeping him stuck. Peter jumped in and kicked the boy against a wall, leaving him stuck above ground, "Why don't you hang around a bit while we finish up?"
"How humiliating..." Shoto lamented.
"SUPER GEYSER!" Mina shouted, sending a gush of acid at Peter.
Peter quickly dodged out the way, using his webbing to block the acid from her hands, then webbed her feet together, leaving her hopping around.
"Not bad, but you still need to work on skills, better hop to it," Peter said.
"I'd laugh if I wasn't so annoyed!" Mina said, hopping around until she tripped. "Crap!"
"GRAPE RUSH!" Mineta tried using his purple balls to pin Peter down, but he dodged them effortlessly and used his webs to do what Mineta had intended and kept him trapped.
"That took some balls," Peter joked.
"Ha! Good one," Mineta said, using humor to hide is disappointment.
"Teamwork everyone! Try harder!" Peter encouraged.
"Prepare yourself!" Tokoyami said, readying Dark Shadow. "Abysmal Black-"
Peter webbed Tokoyami, even covering his mouth as he flung him against a wall, leaving him stuck, "Guess it was a mouthful to say. If you absolutely have to shout it out, then maybe you should limit it."
"Let me try!" Kaminari said, readying his electricity. "Indiscriminate Shock! 1.4 Million Volts!"
Peter covered himself in his webs to use as a defense against the electricity, leaving Kaminari brain fried after the attack. "Does he not know I have an enemy with an Electricity Quirk? Like try to be a bit original."
"Now's my chance," Toru tried sneaking up and grabbing Peter, his spider sense going off and turning to face her, stopping the girl in her tracks immediately.
"Oh, you. Hey have you looked into getting invisible clothing? I just feel weird about you technically being naked, you're way too exposed and you need to protect yourself from...hold on," Peter dodged an attack from Sato and kicked him aside. "Anyway just wear something, I really don't want you catching a cold while fighting crime, alright young lady?"
"Alright daddy..." It took Toru a moment to realize what she said.. "Wait, did I just call you 'daddy'?"
"Aw, you're so cute," Peter said, webbing her up. "I can't see your face right now, but something tells me you're really pretty."
"Aw, thank you," Toru said, then remembered she got webbed up. "Oh right, I lost."
Shouji tried to grab Peter but he disappeared right before his eyes, "Where did he go!?"
Peter appeared behind him and elbowed his back to knock him over, "There's another one down." Kirishima rushed over trying to attack, Peter blocking his strikes and punching him in the stomach, knocking the wind out of him, "Didn't you learn anything from fighting Logan? Don't just charge in!"
"Halt Spider-Man!" Yuga said, readying his naval laser. "For you no match for-"
Peter immediately webbed him up, "Less talking, more fighting. Though I suppose it's ironic advice coming from me."
"Oh, how I feel ashamed," Yuga said, exaggerating sadness.
"I don't know why but something feels off about that kid," Peter analyzed.
"I got this!" Mayday rushed in for a punch, but Peter quickly dodged. Mayday increased her speed, trying to land a blow on her father, Peter sidestepping everything like it was nothing.
The other classmates were amazed with what they were seeing, this girl who they could barely match up to was struggling. It made sense, even she couldn't rival Spider-Man in power, and this display did hurt their motivation.
Peter grabbed her punch and judo flipped her over, careful enough not to hurt his daughter. Of course he knew that she could take it, but his fatherly instincts had taken over. Suddenly he was dodging a magic beam from Flurry, Peter amazed by her current speed and power.
Mayday quickly stood and went for a kick to Peter, one he quickly dodged. He attempted to web her but dodging Flurry's magic broke his focus for a split second, something Mayday tried using to her advantage with her own webs.
Peter was still quick to dodge, even using his webbing to block Mayday's web shooters. "Gotta say Mayday, you and Flurry really grew up fast. You're actually keeping up with me."
"Well I wasn't going to be your little girl forever," Mayday said.
"I know, still, it feels like yesterday I was changing your diaper Mayday," Peter said.
Mayday's face turned red, "Dad...no..."
"Hey it's true, I changed you a lot, same with Flurry whenever I used to babysit her," Peter said. "You girls had the stinkiest diapers too."
Immediate silence fell over the gym area, the two girls with bright red faces as the rest of the class couldn't help but feel awkward.
"DAD!" Mayday shouted in annoyance.
"UNCLE PETER!" Flurry shouted, just as embarrassed.
Both girls rushed in to attack, trying their hardest to take Peter down, mostly fueled by embarrassment until Peter had leapt up and webbed both of them down from behind.
"Don't let your emotions run wild in a fight," Peter explained, then turned his attention to the last batch of kids. "Well?"
"This is going to be difficult," Tenya said. "Spider-Man's speed is God-like."
"Yeah, he certainly hasn't slowed down since the Practical Exams," Oujiro lamented.
"I'm not surprised, Spider-Man is amazingly gifted at combat," Ochako said. "I don't think I'm ready to surpass him on my own."
"That's why we need teamwork, but we have to do it in a clever way, Spider-Man's used to fighting large groups, so it's all about tactics," Izuku said. "Alright listen. I think I have a plan. Yaoyorozu, can you make firecrackers? Loud ones to distract Spider-Man?"
"Yes, I can do that," Momo said.
"Jiro, I'll need your help with that too, use your amp to make a loud noise," Izuku said.
"Yeah, alright," Jiro said.
"Iida, Oujiro, As...Tsu, go and keep Spider-Man distracted, run around, get his attention, attack if you find an opening," Izuku said. "Uraraka, use your quirk to nullify that broken piece of boulder on my signal. Sero, be ready to toss it."
"Can do," Tenya said.
"You got it," Ochako said.
"Ribbit," Tsuyu added.
"Now...wait where's Koda?" Peter wondered, then noticed the boy was tied up in webs. "Never mind, I hoped he could use some animals to help but we should still be fine. Iida you lead your team first, Jiro and Yaoyorozu can attack second. Go!"
The students put the plan into motion, Tenya running circles around Peter, trying to keep the hero's eyes on him. Tsuyu leapt nearby, keeping her eye out for a chance to strike.
"Looks like they're trying to throw me off guard, clever tactic," Peter kept a close eye out, especially for the students who weren't actively going for a strike.
Suddenly Oujiro tried attacking from behind, but Peter dodged and webbed him, leaving him tied up as Tenya went for a kick that Peter backwards dodged. Tsuyu tried taking advantage and going for a kick but Peter webbed himself up toward the ceiling, leading to Tsuyu accidentally kicking Tenya.
"Sorry about that!" Tsuyu said. "Spider-Man really is good at fighting groups."
Peter landed beside the frog girl, "That's the risk when it comes to teamwork." Tsuyu freaked and leapt away, trying to gauge the situation. Peter was definitely fast, she shouldn't be surprised, but seeing it up close was something else.
"If you're going to attack, you should get to it, hesitation can result in instant loss," Peter urged, trying to test her judgement. Suddenly Jiro rushed behind Peter and blasted her amps, creating a loud sound that briefly bothered Peter. He turned to retaliate but Momo had thrown the firecrackers at him, trying to distract him further.
"It's working!" Jiro said.
"Not for long!" Peter quickly recovered and webbed the two of them to the wall, "That's another couple down, whoa!"
Peter suddenly dodged a kick from Tsuyu, the girl trying her best to attack but Peter effortlessly dodged. Tenya tried sneaking up but he missed Peter, this time connecting with Tsuyu.
"No!" Tenya shouted in frustration. Suddenly he was webbed up as Peter landed beside him.
"Remember, teamwork means making sure you're all properly coordinated, this is something you kids need to practice," Peter said.
"Release!" Ochako called, Peter looking to see a giant rock about to hit him courtesy of Sero throwing it in zero gravity condition. Fortunately he was able to leap out of the way in time, but the moment he landed, that's when Izuku went to strike.
"One For All...SHOOT STYLE!" Izuku went for a kick, figuring Peter was open, but at the very last second, Peter managed to block, not even moving back despite Izuku putting all he can into that strike. "He blocked it!?"
Izuku tried immediately following up with another kick, but Peter ducked out the way. Fortunately Izuku still landed on his feet and tried for one more reverse round house kick that Peter jumped back from. He readied his webbing and tried to tie up Izuku, to his surprise, the boy immediately jumped up and ricocheted off a wall, trying for a punch.
Peter was able to block the strike still, holding his arms in a way that he could trap Izuku's wrist after the attempted strike. Izuku tried for a kick but Peter parried it, the younger boy trying for more strikes, hoping to knock Peter off balance.
"His speed's incredible, and he's not even full powered yet," Peter tripped Izuku a bit, and spun kick right into Izuzku's sides, careful not to really hurt him but enough to knock him over. "This kid's gonna be a force to reckon with once he masters One for All."
"I have to find an opening!" Izuku tried gauging the situation but Peter immediately went for another attack, "He's too fast! His speed is incredible! It's like he knows what I'm gonna do even before I do it!"
Izuku tried for another kick, Peter blocking, this time feeling a bit more from it, "He's one persistent kid, I'll give him that." Peter managed to elbow Izuku down toward the floor.
Before Izuku fully hit the ground, he tried for another kick, nearly catching Peter, the hero dodging last second, amazed by the speed. Suddenly however, he felt a punch to his jaw. He was so amazed by Izuku's moves that he did not see Ochako coming in with her own strike.
"She landed a blow!" Izuku was relieved a classmate of his pulled it off.
"Ha! I did it!" Ochako cheered. "I landed a blow on Spider-Man! I am unstoppable!"
Peter rubbed his jaw a second, not from pain, but from surprise. Fortunately Peter rolls with his punches, otherwise Ochako's hand would have been broken pretty badly. "Hey great work Ochako." Peter rubbed the girls' head, "I'm really proud of you, you're turning out to be an amazing hero."
Ochako's eyes watered, immense joy filling her very being as she hugged the hero, "Thank you so much, senpai!"
"I told you not to...ah it doesn't matter I guess, I suppose I am your senpai," Peter said, returning the hug. "Keep getting stronger, I believe in you Ochako."
Ochako feverishly nodded her head as she broke away from the hug. "I will!"
"Keep it up, maybe you can be my sidekick, if you want to," Peter said. "At least until you feel ready to embark on your own."
"Oh wow, really?" Ochako asked. "Wow, what an honor, to my knowledge, you only have one sidekick."
"Yeah but Miles doesn't really need me these days, he's capable of being his own hero," Peter said. "I wouldn't mind taking you under my wing."
"Wow, you're lucky Uraraka," Sero said, making his way over. "I'd love to be Spider-Man's sidekick too."
"Hey, I'm not limiting it, you did petty good too," Peter said, then called out to the students. "You all have potential, each one of you."
"Doesn't feel like it," Jiro said, still tied up.
"Oh right, the webbing," Peter said. "Uh, give me a second, I'll get you all out, hopefully. Anyone have peanut butter?"
"Did he say Peanut Butter?" the class wondered.
After a few minutes, the class was free from the webbing, albeit with some lingering threads. Some students like Jiro, Tenya and Kaminari felt low, feeling like they screwed up. Shoto was ashamed to have gotten overconfident, even if very briefly. Bakugo was angry, he felt humiliated by Peter, the fact that he was the first one out really got to him. Then there was Ochako, who was still gleaming from not only her success, but Peter's words of praise.
At this point, Peter began explaining things to the students, "Alright, now let me say this. The big issue at first is that a lot of you just attacked on your own without second thought, that's not a good thing. Heroes have to be able to coordinate with each other, especially if against a strong villain. I know there are different hero agencies, and that some heroes treat this as a rivalry or competition. But the truth is this, when it comes to the safety of the public, there is no competition. You all have the same duty, to protect people, and to not let your pride get in the way. Remember, a good hero isn't in this for the money, or the glory. It's about doing the right thing." Peter took note of some of the students, many of them looking confused, and then there was Ochako, looking ashamed of herself. "I hope this isn't a bunch of Greek to them." "Now, I'm not saying that getting paid to be a hero is a bad thing, even doctors get paid to save lives. I'm just saying not to make that a main priority. Consider your morals before anything else though."
"Question sir," Tenya said. "How would you grade our performance today?"
"I'm not in this to grade you, I just want you to improve," Peter explained. "Focus more on improving yourself than feeling low."
"We didn't suck too bad though, did we?" Kaminari asked.
"I wouldn't say any of you suck, you're still learning after all, you're training to improve," Peter said. "For me to expect you to know everything is like asking a newborn baby to run cross country. You're allowed to screw up and make mistakes. In fact, making mistakes is a good thing, you know why?"
"No, why?" Mina asked, genuinely confused.
"You learn from them," Peter said. "You typically learn more from failure than success, because when you fail, you learn what not to do. Those who always succeed never really grow as much, you spend so much time on top of the mountain that you don't know what to do when you get knocked off the peak. Now I'm not saying to purposely screw up, just try your best, if you do that then that's all that matters."
"Wow, that's reassuring actually," Mina said.
"Here's an old saying for you. Anyone who's never made a mistake has never tried anything new," Peter said. "Now tell me, how did this exercise end?"
"Uraraka decked you in the jaw," Kaminari said.
"...Alright, but how?" Peter asked. "What did she do differently?"
"Uh..." Kaminari thought it over. "Not sure, I was kind of frazzled."
"My advice, don't brain fry yourself, I've seen what happens when The Electric Conduit used up too much power, he said it drains him and gives him a really bad headache," Peter said. "Anyone else?"
"It looked like she was helping Midoriya," Mina said.
"Yeah, Midoriya came up with a plan," Sero said.
"Boom, you got it," Peter said. "Here's the thing, as a hero, you're going to find yourselves in situations that you didn't prepare for, which is why you need to be able to plan on the spot. I know it's not easy to do though, but you need to make an effort. Cooperation is the key. Izuku came up with a plan pretty quickly and that allowed Ochako to get the blow she needed to."
"I'm just surprised it actually worked," Izuku said.
"Don't be, don't doubt or second guess yourself," Peter said. "You know you're smarter than you think you are."
"He is, during the USJ attack, he came up with a plan that allowed him, me and Tsuyu to escape from villains," Flurry said.
"It was quite impressive too," Tsuyu said. "What was also impressive was a plan he came up with out in the forest when the villains invaded."
"He's also the one who came up with that plan to rescue Bakugo," Kirishima said.
"I've also seen for myself how quickly he can think of plans," Tenya said, recalling Hosu.
"Deku even came up with a good plan to help us and Flurry during a battle practice against Iida and Bakugo," Ochako said.
"Wow, sounds like you're quite the tactician, Izuku," Peter said. "I'm almost surprised you're not class rep or something."
"Oh he was, we voted for him, but he gave his spot up to Tenya because he didn't feel ready for it," Flurry said. "Tenya's really smart too, so it makes sense."
"Sounds like Izuku has a good head on his shoulders, he knows what's best for his class and his allies, even if he's not always the one in the driver's seat. Class Rep or not, he makes for a good leader," Peter said. "My advice class, when in doubt, turn to Izuku."
"Who?" Me?" Izuku asked, taking not only him but most of his classmates by surprise, especially Bakugo.
"Yeah you, sounds like you're a smart kid who really knows his stuff," Peter said. "However! That doesn't mean you all can't pull your weight, don't leave every decision to Izuku, he's smart but he's not perfect. Not that it's a bad thing because no one's perfect, like you, he's only human. Just do the best you can, alright class?"
"Yes sir!" The class said.
"Alright good," Peter said, then took note of Class B having made their way inside. "Looks like your training's over for today, I'll be by to see how you progress in the coming days leading up to the Liscencing Exam."
All the Class A students had made their way out of the gym with their teachers, Class B feeling a bit envious that Spider-Man had just given Class A a pep talk.
Before he left, Peter did have one thing to say to Class B, "If any of you are feeling jealous of Class A, remember this. Strength comes from the want for self-improvement, don't compare yourselves to others, be the best you can be. You're all in UA for a reason, so you know you have what it takes, believe in yourselves."
This did take the students by surprise, they didn't expect Spider-Man to pay them any mind, but now they find themselves thinking over what he just said.
"Thank you, Spider-Man," Kendo said. "We won't let you down."
"I know you won't," Peter said, taking his leave.
"Huh, he really is a nice guy, isn't he?" Tetsutetsu said.
"Is that any surprise? Peter's one of the most wholesome superheroes, there's a reason my dad as a soft spot for him," Rina said. "Even if he hates it sometimes."
"My family loves Peter," Franklin said. "My dad praises his intellectual abilities, my mom praises his kindness, my uncle Johnny praises his awesomeness, and my uncle Ben calls him reliable."
"Think he'll train us one day?" Setsuna asked.
"I think he'd be willing to, if we asked," Kendo said. "Come on, let's take his advice and improve ourselves."
Outside, just before heading back to class, Gohan had quickly caught up to one of the students, "Hey, Izuku Midoriya!"
"Huh?" Izuku turned his attention to Gohan. "Oh, Saiyaman."
"Just call me 'Gohan'," the hero reminded. "Hey, I just wanted to commend you on your new style. Switching to your legs is actually really clever."
"You really think so?" Izuku asked.
"Legs are about three times stronger than arms, mainly since we use them to walk around so the muscle builds up better," Gohan explained. "In fact, when Videl fights, she prefers to stick to kicks as well. In fact, one of her Ultimate Attacks is the Eagle Kick, and for good reason. I think she would love seeing that you're taking up kicking styles."
"Thanks, I really appreciate that," Izuku said. "Is she recovering ok?"
"Yeah, she's gotten better, she's actively rehabbing now," Gohan said. "Nothing stops her at all, she's got an iron will. Plus she's had bad beatings before, they just motivate her to get better. Anyway when she's able to, she might come by and give you some pointers as well."
"I'd love that, I've been training with my friend and looking up martial arts tapes, but having an experienced pro's help would be good," Izuku said.
"She'd be happy to help, pass down what she knows," Gohan said. "Well, I should let you get back to your class."
"Sure, but, question," Izuku said. "The other day, I saw your dad turning his hair yellow, I think it was called 'Super Saiyan'. Can you do that too?"
"Yeah, watch," Gohan said, taking a step back and powering into his Super Saiyan form, surprising not just Izuku, but everyone else around.
"Whoa, Saiyaman's gone Super Saiyan!" Kirishima said.
"Freaking awesome!" Kaminari commented.
"He looks great as a blonde," Mina said.
Izuku looked in awe at this state, "Wow, so cool!"
"It sure is," Gohan said. "I learned this when I was about nine years old, after some training with my dad. It usually increases a person's power by fifty, I could probably take on some of the best heroes in the world with this form."
"Including Superman?" Jiro asked.
"Eh, I'm a long way from Superman," Gohan sheepishly admitted.
"So can any Saiyan just do that transformation?" Izuku asked.
"Yes, but there's a key to it," Gohan said as he powered out. "Usually the Super Saiyan form first comes whenever something traumatizing happens. When I transformed, I had to relive all the trauma from my time on a planet called Namek, where I was seeing all my friends getting hurt or worse while fighting an evil alien named Frieza, and even more when I was a kid fighting against evil Saiyans. It wasn't pretty, but I had to do it, the world was in danger due to the threat of Androids, Cyborgs and other types of robots."
"You said you were nine, were you expected to fight?" Tenya asked.
"Yeah, my dad insisted I was strong enough to do so," Gohan said. "That got a lot of mixed reactions, mainly between my dad's friends, my mom, even Peter and Twilight."
"That's an understatement," Peter said. "Twilight was ticked off when Goku sent you into battle against Cell."
"My father's mentioned Cell," Shoto said. "He called him a formidable opponent, and tried taking him down, but ultimately failing."
"I'm not surprised, Cell had a lot of quirks, some that most heroes were powerless against, including Endeavor," Peter said.
"I've been fighting since I was a kid, like really little, same age as my daughter Pan and Peter's son Benjy," Gohan explained. "It was hard for me since I never liked fighting much. Even now I don't care to fight, I only do it because I have to."
"Same here, if I could solve a problem non-violently, I would," Peter said. "I'm not always perfect, even I have days where I'm in a bad mood and just want to clobber someone, but that's the wrong way to go about it."
"So you prefer non-violent methods," Tenya said.
"Basically, of course Peter and I know that words won't always reach someone," Gohan said. "Sometimes you have no choice but to fight. That's something I learned the hard way fighting Cell."
"It's best used as a last resort, if you can convince a villain to surrender then go for it, no hero needs to actively fight," Peter said.
"Seems pointless to train if we don't use it though," Kaminari said.
"Your training is to prepare you for an emergency, not to go out and pick a fight," Peter said. "I won't tell you not to get strong, but I also won't ask you to go and bash some heads. The main priority for a hero is to help others, and you don't always need to do that by fighting."
"Just use proper judgement," Gohan said.
"Proper Judgement, knowing when to fight..." That gave something for Izuku to think over.
"Still, I do want to improve my power, maybe work on my weakness," Kaminari said. "Spider-Man, you mentioned that The Electric Conduit has had issues with his quirk too right? How did he go about improving on that?"
"Proper training, in time he was able to fire more energy before going dry," Peter said. "That and the Blast Shards he found certainly helped."
"So he was able to increase his storage eventually?" Kaminari said.
"Yes, in addition Cole also learned a bunch of impressive tricks with his powers that wasn't just blasting electricity," Peter said. "Guys like him and my old enemy Electro used their powers to allow flight, chances are you probably can too, but that's only a theory."
"Gonna be a while before that I'm sure," Kaminari said.
"Cole's also capable of absorbing electricity, that's what he does when he runs out," Peter said. "But it seems like with you, your excessive use is more like overloading a computer than a battery running out of juice. Your powers are similar, but not entirely the same. Still, Cole can probably teach you some basics, like I said, I can probably bring him to Japan if he's not busy."
"Just let me know, I'll be ready," Kaminari said.
"You know it's funny too, my sidekick Miles also uses electric webbing, it gave me the idea to use some myself, that and some of my fights with Electro," Peter said. "This may sound strange to say, but sometimes you can learn a bit from your villains too, some of them have cool quirks and tech. Like Shocker, the guy had the personality of drying paint but his gauntlets were top notch."
"Maybe Bakugo can take some tips from him then," Kaminari joked, earning an annoyed glare from Bakugo.
"I don't have anything to learn from some D-Rank villain," Bakugo said.
"Your friend there's on a league of his own," Peter said. "Still, I'll get back to you Chargebolt."
"Hey, Spider-Man, any chance you know any martial artists that can help me out?" Oujiro said.
"I can probably call up Ryu since you both do Karate, maybe he'll even teach you the Hadouken," Peter joked.
"That would be fun," Oujiro said.
"Honestly, all of you can benefit from martial arts, it helps a lot when you're a pro hero," Peter said.
"I'd love to learn martial arts," Mina said. "I practice a little, I wanted to use them at the Sports Festival, but things didn't go so well."
"I bet I can teach you a thing or two, or I can find one who has your style," Peter said.
"Like Terry Bogard?" Mina hopefully asked.
"Sure, I don't know him as well, he's a cool guy and we have talked but I never got his contact info," Peter said. "I can still find him probably."
"That would be great, but if you ever want to train me too, I wouldn't turn away such an exciting offer," Mina said.
"I'd be happy to...uh...sorry I can't remember everyone's name yet, but I think you're Mina or something," Peter said.
"Mina Ashido," the girl said. "I still haven't fully decided on a hero name, I tried Alien Queen but it got turned down. I tried Pinky but then I would get confused for Pinkie Pie."
"Why did Alien Queen get turned down? That sounds freaking awesome," Peter said. "Honestly I'd be down with calling you that."
Mina squeed in delight, "I knew it could catch on! I got a seal of approval from Spider-Man!"
"Anyone with suggestions, come to me when you can, I'll see if I can make it a reality," Peter said.
"Is it really that easy? Just tell you who we want to train with?" Kirishima asked.
"Well, I'd need to see if the hero is available, then see if UA's fine with it, and make sure there isn't a language barrier, though many heroes are bilingual these days," Peter said. "I'll do what I can."
"Ooh! I've love to learn from The Invisible Woman!" Toru said. "Maybe she can teach me to create a shield! Or even turn visible."
"I dare say that Cyclops of the X-Men would make a wonderful teacher for moi," Yuga said.
"I hear you're familiar with the founding Teen Titans member, Raven," Tokoyami said.
"I can help you all, just come up with suggestions and bring them to me in an organized manner," Peter said.
"Oh Peter! You mentioned the Gravity Queen to me, are you flying her in?" Ochako asked.
"I'll see if she's available too," Peter said. "But Kat's not the only one I had in mind for you. I want to introduce you to my friend Amy. She's on her own planet right now but I keep in contact with her."
"Wait, so she's an alien?" Ochako asked.
"Sure is, any of you ever hear of Sonic the Hedgehog?" Peter asked.
"Sonic the who now?" Kaminari asked.
"Hedgehog, he's a Mobian with a speed quirk," Peter said.
"Quirks exist on other planets?" Mina asked.
"Yeah, Earth isn't the only place that has quirks," Peter said. "Some theorize that the reason we have quirks is because of aliens, but like many Quirk Theories, that's never been officially proven."
"You mentioned Speed Quirk, is he like The Flash?" Oujiro asked.
"Yeah, to this day I still hear arguments on who's faster, it never ends," Peter said. "Anyway Sonic showed up to Earth close to twenty years ago battling against some evil scientist, Ivo Robotnik, villain name, Doctor Eggman. Since then he's been traveling between worlds, here, his planet, and occasionally other planets. Super-fast, super powerful, really nice guy, a bit full of himself, but overall pretty ok."
"That sounds epic," Kaminari said. "But, why is he called 'The Hedgehog'? They're slow."
"Because he's a literal hedgehog, think your Principal, he's an animal that walks and talks like a human, so that's what Sonic is," Peter said.
"I'm amazed not many of you know him," Gohan said. "Guess he hasn't been around long and his relevance faded for the youth."
"Anyway Ochako, Amy Rose came to Earth with Sonic and some friends of his, and you kind of remind me of her in some ways," Peter said. "You both have that sweet personality to you, always thinking of others. Plus, I get the feeling that Amy can help you with stuff beyond your hero work."
"I'd like that, but if I may ask what's her quirk?" Ochako asked.
"She can summon a giant hammer out of literally nowhere," Peter said. "Seriously, it's like in anime where a girl just pulls a hammer out and whacks people with it."
"A hammer huh? Does she fight like Thor?" Kaminari asked.
"I mean...they both use hammers, but it's not exactly the same," Peter said. "I'll call her later, see when she's available," Peter said.
"Well, if she's a friend of yours, then I look forward to seeing her," Ochako said.
"If you're done," Aizawa said, getting their attention. "These kids really need to get back to class."
"Oh right, guess I kept them longer than I should have, surprised you were so patient," Peter said, earning a glare from Aizawa. "But hey, it was relevant to their training, and educational. You're alright with me finding pros to come help train them, aren't you?"
"Take it up with Principal Nezu," Aizawa said, then turned to his class. "Let's go."
"Yes sir," Class A said.
"See you class," Peter said, thwipping away.
"Good luck with your training," Gohan added, flying off.
Peter began thinking about this new development, "Gotta find heroes to help these kids. At least Twilight should be able to, she'll be happy to teach again. Hope she's doing alright at home."
Back in the condo, while Twilight was reading a book to pass the time, Peni had created another accidental explosion. "Sorry! My mistake!"
Twilight groaned in annoyance, placing her book down to check on the girl in the spare room the condo had, seeing that Peni was hard at work on her machine, though ran into some trial and error.
"Come on, I should have the hang of this, is it the parts?" Peni wondered. She then turned to the little spider beside her. "What about you, got any ideas?"
"Ahem..." Twilight got her attention, using her magic to speak. 'You should be resting'.
"I feel fine, it'll take more than broken ribs to keep me down," Peni said. "I know I'm not as durable as my big brother but that doesn't mean I can't take a hit."
Twilight shook her head in annoyance, creating another sign, 'Just be careful, Peter wouldn't want you getting hurt again.'
"Wow, even when you can't talk you're such a nag," Peni said.
'Watch it', Twilight warned, doing an 'I have my eye on you' gesture.
"Fine, whatever you say, 'Onee-chan'," Peni said, speaking sarcastically. Twilight shrugged it off, leaving Peni to returned to her work. She could hear her spider lecturing her about her behavior. "I know she's just looking out for me, but she still treats me like that same little girl she knew when she first met my big brother. I just want her to know that I'm an adult and I can make my own choices. Even Peter lets me do my thing, and he's protective too. Though I hope after that fight he won't start being as bad as Twilight, or worse." The spider spoke to her again, Peni again feeling frustrated. "It has nothing to do with my old rivalry with Twilight, she may be Peter's wife but I am forever his darling Imōto." She heard the spider again. "It means 'Sister'! You know English and Japanese!" Peni groaned in annoyance, "Pain in the butt."
Later on at the Dorms, the girls had gotten together after training, Mina being the most vocal about her frustration. "It's so hard!"
"It is called intensive training for a reason," Toru said.
"That is true, still, we only have a week left before the exam," Momo said. "I hope that will be enough time."
"We'll be fine Momo," Flurry said. "By the way, how is your Ultimate Move coming?"
"I don't think my body can handle what I have in mind," Momo said. "I need time to work on my quirk and increase my endurance."
"What about you Tsu?" Toru asked. "Are you getting close?"
"I perfected a move that makes me even more frog like than before, even you might be surprised, Toru," Tsuyu explained.
"How exciting!" Toru said. "Oh Mayday, what about you? I heard you were trying a move unique from your dad's."
"I'm still working out the kinks, but I am making full use of my abilities, ones different than my dad's," Mayday said.
"Your quirk isn't exactly the same as his, just similar, is that right?" Momo asked.
"Yeah, for example, when my dad crawls on walls, he is able to do so instinctively, like he can actually just lay against a wall or ceiling without trying," Mayday said. "Me, I have to concentrate because if I lose focus, I'll fall. But thanks to my training, I think I've made use of an ability that is exclusive to me."
"That's so cool!" Toru said. "A power only you have."
"Well theoretically, my dad, Gwen and Miles can probably do so too, they've never tried so I can't confirm it," Mayday said. "But that's fine, I'd like to have one unique quality to me."
"Your dad must be so proud. He's also been around a lot lately, so he's gotten to see your progress up close at least," Tsuyu said.
"Well he's interested in all of you, I know he's probably talked to some of you about your progress as well," Mayday said.
"Oh yeah, he's talked to me about stuff, he thinks my wall crawling is cool and when I showed him my new technique, he compared it to his sidekick," Tsuyu said.
"When I told him about my quirk, he made a joke saying I could be useful if something called a symbiote comes back," Jiro said.
"Well he might not be fully joking. For starters, you all remember when my dad mentioned Venom earlier today?" Mayday asked.
"Oh yeah, one of your father's strongest enemies," Mina said. "I read about him when I researched his rogues gallery. A big muscle guy with a black costume and long tongue."
"That suit is called a Symbiote, it's actually an alien from a planet called Klyntar. My dad discovered while on a mission with The Avengers," Mayday explained.
"Did he like the suit? Like how handy was it?" Mina asked.
"Pretty handy," Mayday said. "He used it a lot back in the day, and since the suit was alive, it actually helped him fight better, sometimes it would even patrol while my dad was asleep. He wasn't too fond of it taking his body out for a joy ride, but at the time, he really didn't care, as long as his enemies were defeated, and he got a bonus pay."
"Wow, fighting crime in your sleep, that's super neat," Mina said.
"Still, bonus pay?" Momo asked. "Isn't your father more on the humble side when it comes to money?"
"That was the problem with the suit, to put it simply, it turned him into a total jerk, he always had a bad attitude, he brushed people off, according to Johnny Storm, he was just plain disrespectful," Mayday said. "It got the point where my dad was about to kill some of his villains, which thankfully he stopped himself, and freed himself from the suit using a Church Bell. The suit hates high frequency sounds, which is why, Kyoka, that he wanted you around because your quirk works well against that."
"Mind blowing, but how did it get to that guy he mentioned?" Jiro asked.
"Yeah, think your dad said his name was Eddie," Mina said.
"It is, after my dad broke free, the suit latched onto Eddie Brock, someone that my dad pissed off, and it fed on his hatred for him which led to the birth of Venom," Mayday said. "Here's the thing I learned from my dad, your choices as a hero have a lot of impact, if you're not careful, you yourself can create a villain. Now thankfully Eddie Brock isn't a villain anymore, and the suit isn't a threat to us, but there could be more out there, some symbiotes are evil."
"Where is Venom?" Ochako asked.
"I think he's in California these days," Mayday said. "In the town of San Francisco."
"Oh, I heard that place is so pretty! I've always wanted to go to California!" Mina said.
"I've been there a couple of times, it's pretty neat," Mayday said.
"Wow, thanks for the information Mayday, that should really come in handy," Toru said. "I'm glad you're getting close to figuring out your abilities as well."
"Hey Ochako, Spider-Man talked to you as well, didn't he? Mostly about training with some friends of his." Tsuyu said, though the girl was not focused on the conversation, so Tsuyu quickly tapped her arm, "Ochako!"
"AH!" Ochako screamed, startling everyone.
"What's with you?" Mayday asked.
"Huh? Nothing, what makes you say that?" Ochako asked.
"You just seem tense," Tsuyu said.
"I'm not tense! Everything is awesome! I'm gonna take the world by my hands!" Ochako said. "Well, that's how it usually is. Lately my heart's been stirred up about something."
"Heart!?" Flurry shouted in excitement. "As in love!?"
"Love!?" Ochako asked. "Did you mean Glove!? Or Shove!? What about Dove!?"
"I bet it's Midoriya! Or Iida! She's always hanging out with those two boys!" Mina said.
"Or maybe it's Spider-Man, a student crushing on a mentor, classic," Toru said.
"Ahem..." Mayday said, trying not to lose her cool. "Maybe let's not delve into this, she's probably just got heartburn or something."
"Y-yeah, maybe it's that," Ochako said. "I do not have a crush on Deku!"
"Oh, interesting, you only name dropped one of those boys," Mina said, freaking Ochako out more.
"No! You got it all wrong!" Ochako insisted. "I don't even know the first thing about dating!"
"Girls, lay off, you're being worse than Flurry is when she gets into her 'shipping' personality," Mayday said.
"My what?" Flurry asked.
"Yeah, maybe we should stop, I mean Mayday's probably not too comfortable with her dad being part of this either. It's also not proper since he's much older than us," Tsuyu said.
"Oddly enough, he looks like he's still our age," Jiro said. "He could easily pass for a UA Student."
"My dad does look young for his age, but I highly doubt Ochako's in love with him. Or even Izuku for that matter, not that it makes a difference in the end," Mayday said.
"Oh, that reminds me of something Mayday," Mina said, getting the girl's attention. "You and Midoriya are friends as well, you're pretty close too considering you call each other by first name, even Ochako doesn't get that treatment."
"Huh?" Ochako said, that realization coming in surprisingly hard.
"I'm American Mina, calling someone by first name doesn't mean anything to me, and I told him that it shouldn't mean anything to him," Mayday said. "But if you must know, yes, Izuku and I are pretty close, he was the first friend I made when I came to Japan."
"So, do you have a crush on him?" Mina asked. "Is there a love triangle in the works?"
"Oh no, I am not getting caught up in another love triangle," Mayday said. "Rina and I went to war trying to get Franklin's attention once, only for him to Friend Zone the both of us. I am keeping things between me and Izuku as neutral as possible."
"What a load of baloney," Flurry felt, knowing full well that Mayday had some feelings for Izuku.
"So, you have experience being in love then?" Mina asked. "Well, if you're not interested in Midoriya, then maybe you can help our dear friend Ochako with-"
"No," Mayday interrupted. "It won't work."
"Hey, you can still put on an effort," Mina said.
"It won't work, because I can't see Izuku and Ochako being together," Mayday said, taking everyone by surprise.
"That's a bold statement Mayday, can you tell us more?" Toru asked.
"Yeah, what's wrong with Uraraka? What makes you think Midoriya wouldn't like her?" Jiro asked.
Mayday shook her head, "I'm not getting into this, I'd rather not cause conflict."
"Kind of hard to do that when you say something like what you just said," Jiro said.
"I didn't say anything mean, I just said I can't see them being together," Mayday said. "Not like I said she's not good enough, or that she's ugly, or anything like that. I just don't see them being together, that's all."
"Still, that was kind of harsh," Jiro said. "Probably could have worded that better."
"Or maybe you should not be so sensitive when someone tries being honest!" Mayday shouted. "This doesn't even concern you, so maybe you should-"
"Enough!" Tsuyu shouted, rather uncharacteristically. "Kyoka, I know you're trying to look out for Ochako, but Mayday's right. She didn't say anything mean, at least I don't think she did."
"I'm with Tsu, Mayday just gave her opinion, she didn't actually talk down Ochako," Toru said.
"Fine..." Jiro said, relenting. "Sorry about that, Parker."
"Yeah...same here," Mayday said, standing up off the couch. "I'm going to bed, I suggest you all do the same. Another day of training tomorrow and I'd rather no one in our class fail, we'll never hear the end of it from Class B, especially that loud mouthed copycat."
The young spider left the room in a huff, leaving the girls feeling awkward. The idea of Mayday being their friend, or at least trying to interact with them came off as strange. Momo and Jiro were especially cautious of her, the former mostly because she attributes Mayday's kind behavior more to the girl wanting to not upset Izuku rather than genuinely caring about their feelings.
Ochako felt a little annoyed as well, but she did come to a realization of her own, Izuku definitely seemed closer to Mayday than her, even with the two on a first name basis. Granted, it's not the only time Izuku's called a girl by her first name, but it did make Ochako realize why they weren't that close yet.
Flurry also had mixed feelings. She understands Mayday's emotions, she knows that the girl is really kind when she wants to be, but she can also understand why the other girls have trouble trusting her. Mayday hasn't been the same since the death of Ben Reilly, and Flurry understood that pain because she liked him too, but she knows that he was a lot closer to Mayday and that she still hadn't fully recovered from that.
"Listen, Mayday has a point, we should get to bed," Tsuyu said.
"I agree, it's late," Momo said, the girls all agreeing and exiting the room. What seemed like a fun interaction turned awkward really quickly, and they just wanted to move on.
Ochako began walking back to her room, though looked out the Balcony and saw Izuku training, practicing his kicks. Her heart began to flutter, something about this boy really piquing her interests. Of course she couldn't help but still feel a bit jealous over what Mayday had to say, Ochako somewhat questioning just how close of a friend she is to Izuku.
Meanwhile Mayday was walking down the hall to her room, still feeling a bit heated, "Ochako's way too vanilla for someone like Izuku. Better she realizes now before she gets hurt. Still, I do have to wonder how Izuku feels about her, he gets nervous around her but he's like that with a lot of girls, he couldn't stop sweating when he met Melissa. Maybe I'm worrying too much, Izuku's not even interested in dating anyway, not yet at least. When he is, I hope I'm the first girl he considers."
Time went by, Class A of UA had arrived at the National Dagoba Arena for the Provisional Licensing exam.
"Gotta admit, I'm kind of nervous," Jiro said.
"It'll be fine," Flurry said, kneeling beside the boy. "Let's go in and do our best."
"Oh yeah, totally!" Mineta said. "Just wait til you see me in action, Flurry."
"I look forward to seeing you being cool Minoru," Flurry said, making her way back to her own friends.
"Right, gotta be cool, Flurry's gonna be watching, I'll ace this test and make her fall in love with me! I'll make her forget about whatever boy is on her mind!" Mineta began imagining that scenario of Flurry swooning over him. "This is my day!"
"At least Flurry managed to help him through his doubt," Aizawa said, taking note of her own nervousness. "But it looks like she herself may need a pep talk."
"The Provisional License," Mayday said. "It's finally time."
"Alright, listen up," Aizawa said. "If you novice eggs pass this exam, you'll hatch into chicks. You'll be partially pros, so I expect the best."
"Again with the chicken thing? Isn't it enough Spider-Man called us that?" Kaminari asked.
"If it bothers you, then prove him wrong," Aizawa said. "Show everyone what UA stands for, and why you're part that curriculum."
"Let's call out the usual everyone!" Kirishima said, pumping his arm up, unaware of someone doing the same behind him. "Go Beyond, Plus-"
"ULTRA!" The boy shouted, taking everyone by surprise, especially Shoto, who seemed to recognize him.
"It's rude to interrupt people Inasa," another boy said.
"Pardon me!" Inasa said, doing a a bow so intense he banged his head on the ground. "I AM EXTREMELY SORRY!"
"What the hell is this!?" Mayday asked in surprise.
"I do not trust that guy's enthusiasm," Kaminari commented.
"I know him..." Aizawa recognized.
Jiro noticed something unique about what the boy was wearing, same with his classmates. "Hey, check out the uniforms."
"Oh yeah, from that famous school on the other side of Japan," Sero said.
"UA in the East," Bakugo said. "Shiketsu in the West."
"Wait, there's another prestigious school in Japan outside of UA?" Flurry asked.
"Yeah, Shiketsu High is a big rival to UA," Izuku confirmed.
"My dad never mentioned that school, does he even know about it?" Mayday asked.
"Well it's not like you ever asked him about other schools, you just told him UA because he went there, and I followed suit," Flurry said.
"I just wanted to say 'Plus Ultra' at least once!" Inasa exclaimed. "I really love UA High! I am so honored to be competing against incredible students!"
"Dude, you're bleeding," Mayday pointed out, not that Inasa noticed or cared.
"Let's go," the boy said, leading a girl with blonde hair away.
"Inasa Yowarashi," Aizawa said.
"You know that guy Mr. Aizawa?" Toru asked.
"Indeed, he's strong," Aizawa confirmed. "He's the same year you all are, and received the top score for Reccomendations. For unknown reasons, he turned down UA and went to Shiketsu."
"So he's our age?" Izuku asked. "Wait, if he had top score for Recommendation, that means he's better than Franklin, Yaoyorozu and Todoroki!"
"Wait, hold on," Sero said. "If he likes our school, why did he turn down the offer to join?"
"What a weird guy," Mina said.
"Weird or not, he's the real deal," Aizawa said.
"Eraser!" came a female's voice, one that made Aizawa cringe. "Wow! I haven't seen you in a while! I mean I saw you on TV a few times lately, but not in person."
"Not her..." Aizawa's eye began twitching.
"Why does that girl look familiar?" Izuku wondered.
"She looks cute, is she a pro?" Flurry asked.
"Let's get married," the woman said to Aizawa.
"No," the Erasure Hero offered a hard decline.
"Married!?" Flurry shouted in surprise as Mina geeked out.
The mysterious new woman began laughing out loud, "You're such a riot buddy!"
"You're impossible, Joke," Aizawa said, that name finally ringing a bell for Izuku.
"That's Miss Joke! The Smile Hero!" Izuku shouted.
"Smile hero?" Mayday asked. "What is-"
"Her quirk is called 'Outburst'," Izuku interrupted. "Her quirk forces people to laugh and prevents them from thinking rationally! Her fights against villains are insanity!"
"Ooh! I wonder if she knows Pinkie Pie!" Flurry said.
"More than that, I'd like to know what Deadpool thinks of her," Mayday said.
"Honestly it sounds like an annoying drag," Bakugo said.
Miss Joke offered a thumbs up to Aizawa, still trying to woo him, "Come on, if I was your wife, you'd have a future of constant laughter."
"That sounds like a nightmare," Aizawa said, Miss Joke laughing it off.
"Wow, you two seem close," Tsuyu said.
"Yeah, our agencies were near each other," Miss Joke said. "As young heroes trying to make a difference in the world, true love bloomed between us!"
"No it didn't!" Aizawa shot down.
"I do miss your quirk retorts, you're my favorite person to tease, future husband!" Miss Joke said.
"Well, if you're here, that must mean your class is too," Aizawa said.
"Sure are," Miss Joke said, gesturing her students over. "Hey everyone! This is UA!"
"Oh cool!" A boy said.
"Wow! I saw them on TV!" A girl added.
"Second years from Ketsubutsu academy," Miss Joke said. "They're Class 2."
One boy took Izuku by his hands, "Name's Shindo, man I heard UA had a bad year, must have been tough for you."
"Uh..." Izuku wasn't sure how to respond.
He then took Kaminari's hands, "But you're still aiming to become pros despite that!" He then grabbed Jiro's hands, "It's so wonderful! Hearts full of fortitude! A must have for all heroes!"
"He's too nice," Izuku felt.
"He's gonna steal all our girls with his charm," Kaminari worried.
"And Bakugo, that whole kidnapping thing, must have been hard for you," Shindo said.
"What was that?" Bakugo replied.
"You must have a really strong will," Shindo said, holding his hand out for a handshake. "I'm gonna learn a lot from you today, I hope you don't mind."
Bakugo whacked his hand away, "Stop bullshitting me. What you say doesn't match the look in your eyes."
"Katsuki, behave yourself!" Flurry scolded, focusing on Shindo. "Forgive him, he has a superiority complex."
"I'll break your other arm," Bakugo warned.
"Hey, don't worry about it, it just means he has a strong heart," Shindo said.
"Is he serious?" Bakugo remained distrustful.
"Hey Todoroki! Can I have your autograph?" a girl asked. "You were so cool at the Sports Festival! You nearly beat Spider-Man's daughter!"
"It wasn't even close though," Mayday would have said it out loud but she'd rather not upset anyone.
"Hey come on, stop fangirling," a classmate said.
"I can sign for you," Mineta said.
"Hey, get your costumes and get to orientation," Aizawa said, then noticed a fancy sports car pulling up on the side. "What's this now?"
"Whoa, check out that car," Kaminari said. "Looks sweet."
"Yeah, probably a European model," Sero said. "Thinking Italian."
Two boys stepped out of the car, ones immediately familiar to Mayday and Flurry, and even Kirishima. One boy had lavender hair, and one had black spikey hair.
"Wait, what are they doing here!?" Mayday asked.
"Who are they? Kaminari asked.
"Trunks and Goten..." Mayday said, the two boys standing in triumph near one another.
"Hey, good to see you Class A, my brother's told me a lot about you, can't wait to see what you're made of," Goten said.
"Wait, your brother?" Jiro asked. "Who are you talking about?"
"I suppose an introduction is in order," the lavender boy said. "My name is Trunks, the son of Capsule Corp President Bulma, grandson of the Founder, Doctor Brief. My father is named Vegeta, he's a warrior who trains in several forms of combat."
"I am Son Goten, the youngest son of Goku, and the younger brother of The Great Saiyaman," Goten introduced. "My mother was also a martial artist who specialized in Chinese Kung Fu, though she's long retired from fighting."
"So cool to see you both," Kirishima said. "What brings you two here?"
"Hey Eijiro, Goten and I are here to get out Provisional Licenses," Trunks said.
"Huh? But neither of you enrolled in a hero school," Mayday said. "Trunks, you're set to inherit your mom's company, and Goten...honestly I don't even know what you have planned."
"While it's true that I am set to be President of Capsule Corp, I also want to have the option to do hero work too," Trunks said. "Plus it allows free use of my quirk."
"But you technically don't have one, you're just half alien," Mayday said.
"Ki Control counts, at least in some places," Trunks said.
"But that's a natural part of a person, why would you need a license for that?" Mayday asked.
"Quirks are natural too, but you need a license to do those," Trunks said. "For many places, anything that is considered a non-conformity ability can be classified as a quirk. Like how Aquaman is considered a quirk user despite his powers just being a natural part of him."
"I heard they tried instilling those quirk laws onto Thor, he did not take too kindly to that," Goten said. "Luckily he did his best to compromise but he found the whole idea outrageous."
"It's weird, Thor's a Prince of his world, he's not bound to human law like ours," Flurry said. "I don't blame him for being unhappy."
"Those quirk laws are totally bogus, they really don't make any sense sometimes," Mayday said.
"Watch what you say in public, Parker. Even your father would get in trouble for saying that out loud." Aizawa warned. "Which he has, many times. I get why he doesn't like them but he needs to know that spreading that mindset is gonna lead into another Superhero Civil War, and we don't want that affecting Japan like it did overseas."
"I don't make the rules, I just go along with it," Trunks said.
"Well Goten, why do you want a license?" Flurry asked.
"To beat up bad guys," Goten said. "Alongside my big bro."
"Basically like what Videl used to do before she became Saiyaman 2," Trunks said.
"Before she became Saiyaman 2?" Kaminari asked. "So she didn't always have that look?"
"When my brother met Videl, she was what many would call, a legalized vigilante," Goten said. "The local police station deputized her to fight crime because that town was low on pros, and since she's a master martial artist, and the daughter of a legendary fighter, the police figured they could use her help. No hero name, though many called her the Demon Spawn. She just went from place to place beating up bad guys."
"She got her license eventually so she can go worldwide," Trunks said. "But she had small, humble beginnings."
"So what you're saying though is, neither of you go to a hero school but you're allowed to take this exam?" Kaminari asked.
"Yeah, my school, that being Orange Star High School, said they're fine with it," Goten said.
"Same here," Trunks said. "Of course I'll be a graduate soon anyway."
"You still need a teacher to oversee you," Aizawa said. "And a school to endorse you both."
"Did your High School do that Goten?" Flurry asked.
"Actually, we got sponsored by Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters," Goten said. "One of its Teachers came with us."
"Well he's part time, but still counts," Trunks said, then turned to the car. "Alright sir, you can come out."
Stepping out of the car was a hero all too familiar with some students, very familiar to Flurry, but dreadfully familiar to Mayday.
"No! Not you!" Mayday shouted.
"Aw, that's no way to greet your Uncle Bobby...my precious little nerd," came the voice of one of an X-Men member, one who has been in the group for a long time.
"No way!" Izuku said. "You...you're one of the Founding Members of The X-Men! The Ice Hero! Iceman!"
"You better believe it," Bobby said.
Bobby Drake, Hero Name: Iceman, his quirk, ice. He can generate powerful ice to use as offense and defense, and cover himself with ice. His powers are so strong, he could potentially cover the entire planet.
"Oh wow! Another member of The X-Men!" Mina said. "First Wolverine! Then Gambit! Now Iceman!"
"Didn't come alone," Bobby said.
He gestured to the car's passenger seat, revealing the famous seamstress of Equestria, "Hey Darlings!"
"Rarity!" Flurry shouted in excitement.
"Oh Flurry, just as cute as always," Rarity said, then focused on her cousin. "And Mayday, my you've grown up, you look as beautiful as your mother, and as charismatic as your father."
"Thanks Auntie Rarity," Mayday said.
Rarity, her quirk Gem Magic. While capable of magical prowess as typically found in Equestria, Rarity can use her powers to locate various forms of gems scattered through the Earth and in various rocks that she can easily pull up. She is also a Black Belt in Karate, so watch out.
"I don't think I know that lady well," Toru said.
"This is my wife, my super, hot, supermodel wife," Bobby said.
"You said 'super' twice," Mayday said.
"You better believe it," Bobby said.
"Well anyway, Rarity is a seam stress with a successful fashion line, she also helps my dad and some of his friends patch up their damaged hero gear," Mayday said.
"Oh yeah, one time he came to her because his butt had a hole, it was super embarrassing for him," Bobby said, getting an awkward reaction from the students.
"Ugh, you have no class, Bobby Drake," Mayday said.
"Actually, I'm First Class," Bobby said, shifting his eyebrows up and down.
"What the hell does that even mean?" Mayday asked.
"That you're a dork," Bobby said. "EYO!"
Mayday grumbled in annoyance, something that worried her classmates. Izuku did remember Mayday mentioning how annoying Bobby could be, seems like she wasn't exaggerating.
"Hey, you, green hair boy," Bobby said, getting Izuku's attention.
"Who me?" The boy asked.
"Yeah, are you Izuku Midoriya?" Bobby asked.
"Yeah, why?" Izuku asked.
"Oh no reason, Peter mentioned you a lot, and so did Remy. Even Logan sang your praise recently," Bobby said. "All three said you're a great kid with a load of potential, thinks you're gonna be a top guy."
"Come to think of it, my brother said the same thing," Goten said. "He doesn't know Izuku as well, but he said he's got a lot of passion and determination."
"Oh, it's nothing really," Izuku said.
"So modest," Rarity said, walking over to Izuku. "Handsome too, something Rainbow Dash was spot on about."
"Oh, me?" Izuku sheepishly asked. "I..."
"Just look at those freckles yours," Rarity said, taking Izuku's face in her hands. "Oh the girls must find you so irresistible."
"Uh...thank you ma'am?" Izuku said, feeling quite embarrassed.
"Well-mannered too, and adorably shy," Rarity said, leaning in close. "Such a delicate little Cinnamon Bun."
"Cinnamon Bun!?" Izuku's nervousness increased with each passing second.
"Alright Rarity, ease up a bit, Izuku gets nervous around girls," Mayday said.
"Mayday!" Izuku scolded.
"Oh, pardon me," Rarity said, taking a step back. "Sorry dear, you were so cute I couldn't help myself."
"Thanks ma'am," Izuku said, trying to hide his blush.
"Midoriya's such a lucky bastard," Kaminari lamented.
"Seriously, what is it about Midoriya that I'm missing?" Jiro wondered.
"I swear some of these Equestria Girls have really poor tastes," Bakugo felt.
"I'm surprised you even like the kid Rarity, especially given how much you don't like the color green," Bobby said.
"What's wrong with the color green?" Izuku wondered.
"Oh, he's cute enough to make an exception for," Rarity insisted, taking a moment to pinch Izuku's cheek. "His suit looks almost adorable too, your agency did a great job with it."
"Actually my mom made it originally," Izuku said. "Wait, why did I say that out loud? What if everyone thinks that's weird?"
"Aw, that's so nice of her, your mother must be really supportive. I dare say you are a lucky one Izuku Midoriya," Rarity said.
"Eh, kind of dorky," Bobby said.
"No one asked you, Ice Pop," Mayday said. "Daddy helps me with my suit, you think that's lame too?"
"You already know the answer to that," Bobby said, much to Mayday's frustration.
"Oh here I am rambling on, there are things to be done. I should help Bobby get these boys checked in then," Rarity said. "Come along everyone."
"Right behind you, pretty lady," Goten said.
"Goten! Remember what I told you about Rule Number One!?" Bobby asked.
"Don't flirt with Rarity..." Goten lamented.
"We're wasting time as well, let's go," Aizawa instructed to his class as they followed him inside as well.
Bobby and Rarity waited behind along with Miss Joke and Aizawa as the students went inside, amazed by what's to come.
"So, Bobby, what are you thoughts so far?" Rarity asked. "About UA I mean."
"Based on what Peter and the others have told me, it sounds like they're brimming with potential," Bobby said. "They seem like nice kids, but I'm more interested to seeing if they really are that great."
"Well things might be tough for them, hopefully you managed to give them a little head's up Eraser," Miss Joke said. Aizawa paid little mind and just went inside. "Uh, Eraser? You did warn them...didn't you?"
"He's not much for conversation, is he?" Rarity asked.
"Peter mentioned he's not really the nicest guy, dude lied to him about where Mayday was doing her summer training," Bobby said.
"Huh? What are you talking about Iceman?" Miss Joke asked.
"It's related to that incident where that one student got kidnapped, Peter wasn't there to protect the kids because he was given false directions from Eraser Head," Bobby said. "That gloomy scumbag apparently didn't trust Peter or something, honestly that's sketchy as hell."
"Well, what's done is done, in the end all the kids are safe, and they managed to get the leader of those villains in jail, along with some followers," Rarity said.
"Still, if Peter were there, none of that would have happened," Bobby said. "Who knows, maybe All Might would not have had to retire."
Miss Joke wasn't sure what to make of this, but she knew Aizawa well enough to know that he would never intentionally do any harm. "We should head inside."
"Yes, of course," Rarity said, going inside with Bobby following.
Inside all the students were gathered for orientation, Class A looking amazed by the turn-out, a lot of competition for sure.
At the head of the room, a sleepy man was starting his speech. "Alright, time for this exam thing. I'm Mara of the Hero's Public Safety concerns. And I..." the man began yawning, clearly tired. "I'm so sleepy, I haven't gotten any sleep due to paperwork. We need more staff on board."
"Is this gonna be a recurring problem?" Mayday complained.
"Mayday..." Izuku scolded.
"Hey, it's a fair question," Mayday insisted.
"Well, I will admit he could use a break before he passes out," Izuku said.
Mara then snapped out of it, "Alright, now that I got that out of the way, I'm gonna start the orientation. Here's the deal, 1540 examinees compete in a Free For All or whatever it's called this year."
"I can't even take this guy seriously, such a lack of enthusiasm," Goten said.
"That's adult life for ya," Trunks said.
"See, we have many pros about, but since Stain's arrest, the public began to doubt heroes and society," Mara said.
"Stain, what does he have to do with this?" Mayday asked.
"He must mean Stain's convictions, how some heroes are just in it for the money and don't actually care about being heroes," Izuku theorized.
"Wow, to think one wannabe ninja could cause so much lasting damage to hero society," Mayday said.
"In a way though, getting paid makes sense, if you're gonna risk your life, you should ask for a reward," Mara said. "That's just the way the world works, my God I need coffee right now."
"If my dad heard this, he'd be a little ticked off," Mayday said.
Izuku recalled Peter's stance on heroes and rankings, "Yeah, he probably would be."
"Well anyway, regardless of the reason, we have too many heroes in the streets keeping villains at bay," Mara said. "The time between an incident's start and end is comically short. That's something you'll experience trying to get these licenses. If you have no speed, you won't cut it. So that's what you'll be tested on first. Only the first hundred students to fulfil requirements will pass."
"But there's over 1500 people here, I thought the passing rate was fifty percent?" Momo said.
"We only have a 1% chance of getting a license!" Tsuyu said.
"Now I'm really nervous!" Jiro commented.
"World sucks, doesn't it?" Mara said, grabbing a ball and a device. "Here are the basic rules. The examinee puts three targets on his or her body. Put them wherever you want, just make sure it's exposed. You will each get six balls. The pods will light up when they're touched by a ball. If your three targets light up, you're out. The person who lights your last target gets credit for your defeat. To pass this round, take out two people."
"So, it's basically like the entrance exams, but you have to go against people instead of robots," Izuku said.
"So Artificial Intelligence vs Regular Intelligence...is that a pro or a con?" Mayday asked.
"I don't think the AIs at the entrance exams were that advanced, going against people will be tougher," Izuku said. "We're given enough balls to pass at least, though there is the possibility of stealing the third target after someone gets the first two."
"Hm, sounds sneaky," Mayday said. "I'll stick to the old-fashioned way."
"I do agree that it's harsh, but it may end up being our only option," Izuku said.
"We're gonna pass out the targets and balls, you'll have a few minutes to get situated after we open," Mara said.
"Open?" Shoto asked. Suddenly the roof started opening up.
Within seconds the room was revealed to be in a large battle area, Mara explaining things further, "There are many terrains you can use to your advantage or avoid, use your quirks and do your best. Or not, I couldn't care less."
"This is pretty awesome," Goten said.
"I suppose it is...hopefully it's worth all my sleep loss," Mara said. "Please try to be fast so we can get this over with."
Up in the stands, Miss Joke is sitting near Bobby, Rarity and especially Aizawa.
"Eraser...your fly's down," Miss Joke said, trying to hold back laughter.
"Why can I never get a moment's peace in my life!?" Aizawa frustratingly wondered.
"I'm actually surprised you still have twenty students," Miss Joke said. "No, more than that, you have twenty-two, even more impressive. Usually, you would have expelled someone by now."
"You serious?" Bobby asked. "Do you hate kids or something Eraser?"
"Yes," Aizawa bluntly said.
"Oh he's just joking," Miss Joke said. "I bet Eraser just really likes his class."
"Not really," Aizawa admitted.
Miss Joke burst out into laughter, "Don't be so embarrassed Eraser. Oh man, this is so like you. Please date me."
"Shut up," Aizawa said.
Miss Joke burst into laughter again, Bobby and Rarity looking concerned.
"Is she taking the rejection well or using her quirk to cover up her disappointment?" Bobby asked.
"Hard to say, hopefully not the latter though. Suppressing your emotions is not healthy," Rarity said.
"But seriously, you know what's gonna happen down there Eraser, surprised you didn't tell your class," Miss Joke said.
"Is there something I should have told my guys?" Bobby asked.
"Probably, but not totally related to what Eraser should have told his students," Miss Joke said.
Down below the students were getting ready, Izuku taking time to analyze everything, "Given how tough this fight's gonna be, it'll be better if we team with friends and allies." Izuku called to his classmates, "Everyone! Let's fight together in a group!"
"Whoo! Teamwork time!" Flurry said, many of the classmates agreeing.
"Hell no!" Bakugo shouted, walking off. "I don't give a rat's ass what Spider-Man said, I'm not taking olders from you, Deku!"
"Idiot! Wait up!" Kirishima called as he followed after Bakugo.
"Guys! Come back!" Mayday shouted. "Why am I not surprised Katsuku just ditched us!? I figured getting taken hostage would have shown him that he can't do everything on his own!"
"Don't worry about it Mayday," Izuku said. "As long as the rest of us stay together, it should be fine."
"I'm going on my own too," Shoto said, walking off to the chagrin of his classmates. "I can't use my powers in front of a big group."
"Wait, Todoroki!" Izuku called.
"Never mind it Izuku, we gotta focus on who's with us now," Mayday said. "You lead, and I'll be your second in command!"
"Why do you get to be second in command!?" Flurry asked. "Tenya should be, he is our class rep, and he's smart."
"Are you saying that I'm not smart!?" Mayday asked in frustration.
"Please do not quarrel," Tenya urged. "We're on the same side."
"Just let Parker be second in command if she wants to be," Kaminari said. "What matters is following Midoriya. Remember what Spider-Man said, he's the born leader."
"Right, Spider-Man believes that of me," Izuku remembered. "I won't let him down!" "Let's go everyone!"
Miss Joke continued to comment on the situation, "It's the same thing every year honestly."
"What is?" Bobby asked.
"A fun little tradition they usually have at these exams," Miss Joke said.
"Tradition?" Bobby looked down below as Class A made their move.
"I don't think they should be on their own though," Izuku commented as he ran along with his class.
"How come? They're tough," Mineta said.
"It's not that, think about this," Izuku said. "Everyone knows who we are and what we can do."
"Oh right, outside they were talking about the Sports Festival," Mayday said. "But it's fine, I'm pretty sure I scared them off."
"This isn't a joke Mayday, take this seriously," Izuku scolded.
Up above, Miss Joke continued to elaborate her point, "These schools are usually on equal footing, but UA has a unique disadvantage. With the Sports Festival Broadcast across the country, not only does everyone know UA's quirks, they know their weaknesses and fighting styles too. Funny, isn't it?"
"So, Class 1-A is screwed then," Bobby said, looking down. "You kids have a lot on your plate, hope you're ready."
It wasn't long before each of the other students in the exam began to surround the UA kids, just like Izuku expected.
In the center of the students was Yo Shindo, "I saw your quirk on TV! I know it destroys your body!" He began throwing his ball along with the other students, "I'd be a fool not to exploit that!"
"One for All... full cowling... SHOOT STYLE!" Izuku kicked one ball and the shockwave sent the rest flying.
"Whoa, that was awesome," Bobby said.
"There was no point to warning them, the end result is the same," Aizawa said. "They still have to work hard like they always do."
"Dark Shadow!" Tokoyaki caught a bunch of the balls with his powers.
"Gonna have to do better than this!" Mayday used her webbing to create a shield for herself.
Ochako levitated out the way, Sero used his tape to stop the balls, Mina blew them away with her acid, Momo used a shield, Tenya outran them, Mineta caught a bunch with a string of balls and Flurry used her magic to blow them away.
"Wow, impressive," Shindo said, feeling a bit worried despite his calm demeanor.
"Real heroes can turn this thing around," Aizawa said. "Plus, in the world of pros, villains always have the advantage of knowing your quirk. UA just looks a little further ahead than most schools."
"Wow, cocky son of a bitch, aren't ya?" Bobby taunted. "Maybe for good reason."
Mayday landed beside Izuku, seeming satisfied, "Well we seem to be off to a good start."
"Yes, with my new Shoot Style mixed with everyone's progress, I think we can pull this exam off!" Izuku said, then called to his team. "Everyone! Show them what UA can do!"
