ScarlettParker18: Thank you for the luck! It really worked! And as for what Garmadon was thinking it was 'boy, what did Misako do for her own son to consider a snake a mother? How good is this snake to my son? Does she deserve to have the title of mother?' and similar thoughts.

Lloyd peered around the corner.

He was supposed to be with Selma and Junior, but he'd heard the rumors of the damaged tank arriving and he had to know if they were successful. This was all his fault, after all.

The mumblings grew more clear the closer he crept.

"-did you fail in stopping Pythor, but you also led the Devourer here?!"

"Actually," Jay piped up, interrupting Garmadon. "The Great Devourer started heading in a different direction!"

"And where would that be?"

There was a long period of silence as Lloyd finally turned the corner, fortunately going unnoticed by the ninja and his father.

"Ninjago City." Kai finally admitted.

Garmadon shook his head. "Then we don't have long, it's better if we plan before-"

Lloyd bolted for the entrance to the cave.

"Where are you going?!"

"Someone might get hurt!" Lloyd didn't even look at his father as he replied, still racing away - already reaching the entrance.

"Lloyd, stop. Now!" He commanded.

Lloyd froze just long enough for his heart to skip a beat. He allowed the pain that brought up to cross his face for just a second as he looked back at his father before running off. He ran around the mountainside to hide from anyone chasing him. Once he was sure he had a second he summoned Gren, recalling the size of his father's dragon.

Gren was rather startled to find Lloyd was suddenly so much smaller than him.

"It's just this once." Lloyd assured. "I just need a ride."

Gren nodded, lowering his head. Once Lloyd was on he launched into the air, slipping easily through the sky as if he'd been flying for years. He followed Lloyd's finger toward the buildings in the distance.

*Small ninja highlights.*

The ninja swiftly searched for Lloyd, but after not immediately finding him they returned. "He's gone, but he can't get too far on foot, so we shouldn't have to worry too much about him."

With a glance at the green in the sky, Garmadon shook his head slightly. "Let's just hurry. We plan on the go."

*Back to the real action*

Lloyd reached the city shortly before the Great Devourer, although he landed a short ways away from the city so no one would see Gren. When he entered the pep rally he was rather confused about what everyone was doing, but he pushed through the crowd. "Sir, you all need to leave."

Everyone ignored him.

"Sir!"

The giant snake showed up.

Lloyd was surprised but relieved when everyone finally started running. The serpent's spiked tail slammed into a building and the boy's stomach churned at the screams.

Taking a deep breath, Lloyd launched a ball of energy toward the tail, curving it to push the tail away from the building.

It worked, the Great Devourer stopped attacking the buildings.

It attacked its attacker.

As the snake turned toward him Lloyd formed a mesh wall out of his power and used it to hold together the building while people escaped. The snake reared back to attack, and Lloyd flung another ball of energy into its mouth.

Holding her microphone close, Gale gestured Vinnie closer. "C'mon, start rolling! This is gonna put us on the map!"

"Shouldn't we just run from the snake?"

"Of course not! Is it rolling?!"

He sighed and pressed the button. "Yes."

"Good." She cleared her throat. "This is Gale Gossip, reporting live from what was the anti-serpentine pep rally, which was interrupted by the attack of a giant snake. Shockingly, the snake has done minimal damage to the city itself because of this young boy."

The camera focused on the tiny, green-clad figure and the large flashes of green power.

"It appears that not only is this kid single-handedly fighting this snake - and winning - but is also holding the city together in the process! Who is this young hero? And can he really defeat this menace?"

Lloyd stumbled, panting, his sweat pouring like rain, dripping into his eyes and soaking his suit. He briefly touched his shoulder, acknowledging the pain even through his adrenaline. Mere seconds later he was ten feet away, watching the tail smash into the ground where he'd been. He launched two spheres and exploded each in a flash of green light right in front of the serpent's eyes. The snake let out a deafening roar and thrashed about. Lloyd fell to the ground, dazed and drained.

The Devourer got its bearings first. It loomed over the prone boy who had proved to be such a nuisance, even to something without much consciousness.

A large, four-headed dragon flew in, attacking the Devourer. Mere moments later four ninja and a Garmadon arrived on the golden weapon vehicles.

Lloyd got back to his feet, just as the ninja arrived. He put back up the barriers holding together the mostly-empty buildings. Fortunately none of the buildings had completely fallen in the brief moment.

The dragon was struck down a brief moment after that, slammed into the ground and clearly injured.

"Ma'am, you need to get out of here." Cole pushed the camera down. "It's too dangerous."

Gale shot him an irritated glance before gesturing toward the fight. "He's doing a fine job keeping it corralled, I think we're fine."

They all glanced at the fight, finally noticing the minuscule figure facing the Devourer, the flashes of green that had resumed the second the Ultra Dragon had gone down.

"LLOYD!" Garmadon raced toward his son. Zane formed his motorbike, picking up Garmadon on his way toward Lloyd.

"You still need to get out of here." Cole gave the both of them a gentle but firm shove away from the snake.

Gale looked about to argue, but the green power holding up the buildings flickered with each shot the boy took. Seconds later they dissipated completely as Lloyd collapsed to the ground, unmoving.

Sorry not sorry about the cliffhanger!

Don't worry, though. I'm super excited about the next chapter and will probably have it out within an hour of this one getting a review. (Or, at least, of me encountering it)
