Whitebeard sat out on deck, just enjoying a good day, the kids had been with them for two days, and it was going fine. The day was going fine, when Izou gave a gasp as he took a wanted poster out of the newspaper. "My God! How did he manage!" Whitebeard looked at the crossdresser. "Who manage what?" Izou shook his head a bit as he showed the poster. "Get a bounty of 350 000 000 within 2 days!" He said as he showed Ace's wanted poster. That was amazing. Izou then moved back to the paper. "Okay okay, it says this; The marines have finally managed to find the perpetrator for different attacks and ambushes. His name is Portgas D Ace, and do not be fooled by his age, he has managed to take out large groups of marines, captains and even vice admirals by himself. He is a dangerous man, he is to be apprehended and arrested on sight, if not killed."

Whitebeard chuckled. He wasn't that surprised. It was Ace after all. He would have guessed he would have taken the world by storm anyhow, he was a super strong and smart person. Oh how he wished Ace would have joined them, he would have been perfect. He could have filled the still empty second commander spot too. But, he got it as well. Ace wasn't used to being in the same place for too long. And he got it could be dangerous for him and those around him.

When more woke up, the wanted poster was shown around. And when Luffy and Sabo woke, they were shown it too, and Sabo just shook his head, while Luffy grinned, before he gasped. "Do I have one yet!" Whitebeard hummed. "Not yet. But once it gets out you're here, you will get one. Don't worry." Luffy moved his arms up. "Yay, woohoo!" Luffy was so ecstatic. But he got it. He remembers his first poster. There was something about it.

The day then went on, and when the next week came, Curiel came towards him. "Hey Pops?" Whitebeard looked at his son. "Yes?" Curiel looked a bit troubled. "I just counted our funds." Whitebeard nodded, now worried they might have spent more than they thought, when Curiel continued. "We should have 120 000 000, or something around there." He nodded, now sure they had over spent, when Curiel spoke again. "We now have almost 2 billion." He blinked. What? "What? How?" Curiel shook his head. "Beats me." He was about to say he must have, somehow, counted wrong, when Sabo spoke, being outside as well. "Ace did say he would let us have most of his work money. Didn't he tell you?" They all blinked "What!" Said Thatch. "He makes that much!" Sabo nodded. "He makes a lot. Most of it goes to us, some other stuff goes to others. Ace helps many." That was amazing. They had a lot of money now. That was always good. But still, he had no idea the man made this much.

As the news got around, everyone was impressed by the amount. But it also made sense. He worked a lot, so he got a lot of money. Many needed his help in the world. And, he was the best. The days then went on, him trying to teach Luffy things as he could, but nothing really happened, no fights yet or such, so he kept things technical, which Luffy found boring, but not Sabo. Which was good. But after two weeks, Claus came out on deck. "Pops! You need to see this!" Whitebeard frowned as Claus sounded worried. He stood up and headed after the man, some other commanders joining him.

When he got to the communication room, he saw Claus and some others watching one of the screens in shock and horror, one of the screens made for emergency broadcast, making him believe this was bad news. There were about half of the commanders coming with him, and all of them were confused as he was, worried what this might be. "What is it, Claus?" Asked the captain, looking at the man. Claus shook his head, looking at the screen in still horror. "I have no idea how they managed it, the executioner, but it's horrible." Whitebeard looked at the screen, on his way to ask what he was speaking about. He had heard about this executioner, knowing he was a man who executed people, sometimes, although rarely, doing it as a broadcast, which made him believe it was someone they knew, like Jimbei.

But when he got a look at the shape at the platform, he felt his insides grow cold as he recognized the man. It was Ace. The black hair, black eyes, and even though the circumstances, still a calm look. The captain could see the commanders reacting differently. Haruta placed her hand over her mouth to stifle a gasp, Izou going the same way. Most of them went pale, looking in utter shock and horror at the screen. Marco looked shocked himself, which was rare. Ace had his hands bound in front of him, clearly in seastone chains, if not, he would have escaped. As they moved closer to the edge of the platform, Thatch moved his hands to his hair, seeming to want to tug at it. "We need to do something!" The captain had no response. They had no idea where this base was, and they could never make it there in time. There was nothing they could do.

Whitebeard felt helpless as he watched Ace move closer to the platform, the man he knew to be the executioner not far behind. But Ace had this calm look, making him have a small hope he knew what he was doing. But how he would escape this was beyond him. He couldn't use his powers. Because if he could have, he would have done so already. Ace was in a situation where he would get executed, and they could do absolutely nothing but watch. He heard a hum from behind him. "No worries, he has a plan." He turned around and saw Sabo there, who looked calm. "Plan? How can he escape this?" Sabo shrugged. "No clue, but that calm look, he has a plan." He should probably try and believe Sabo, but didn't know how.

He turned back to the screen, and as they were at the edge, the executioner grabbed a rope with a noose. And the captain felt the dread building inside him, wanting to tell everyone to leave, not wanting to have them watch this, but he was at a loss for words. When the executioner brought the rope to put it over Ace's head, it was as if Ace moved to make it easier. He lifted his head and stretched his neck, as if wanting this to happen. He must have a plan, but the captain had no idea what this plan might be. But Sabo believed Ace had a plan somehow.

Maybe the plan was to get killed? Whitebeard quickly ignored that thought, Ace would never do that. But he needed to have a plan, he just had no idea what this plan might be, and he hoped there was a plan. Maybe he had been on an assignment and it had gone bad? That might make sense. But, how did Ace look so calm? He would die soon. He was about to make Sabo leave, as he shouldn't watch his brother die, when Ace moved.

Ace smashed his elbow into the executioner's face, making him stumble, and Ace grabbed the rope, which was connected to the noose around his neck and the platform. When the executioner got his footing, and the other people close by were on their way to help their leader, Ace managed to throw the rope around the executioner's neck, making a half noose. Then Ace moved his grip to get a better one, and then, Ace jumped off the platform.

Whitebeard felt his heart jump. And he could even see some of the commanders taking a step towards the screen, as if hoping to save Ace. But they could do nothing. Sabo just stood still and looked calm as well. The executioner fell to the floor, the rope tightening around his neck. Though it was at the bottom of the screen, he could clearly see Ace having managed to keep a hold of the rope so he didn't get strangled, but the executioner would.

And as Ace made some movement, he managed to drag himself up as a small jump, making the rope tighten hard around the executioner's neck as the rope got the extra weight, and he went limp, head lying in a clearly unnatural way. And as the guards now managed to get close enough, all that happened in the span of 3 seconds, one took out his sword and slashed the rope, making Ace fall out of view. They heard a thump, most likely from Ace landing, but not much more than that. He shifted his attention to the platform, seeing the people there checking the executioner, before standing up and looking shocked at the man lying still. With a shake of the person's head, the one who had checked the man, ran away. And it wasn't long before most of the others followed. And it was clear the executioner was dead, and they ran away in fear, leaving the dead man alone on the platform.

But how was Ace? He saw Dust flying across the screen, and that was a good sign. Dust was fine, meaning Ace might be. The screen then went black, and he guessed it was over. Sabo chuckled. "Told you." He had, but could he be fine? "How did you know?" Asked the captain, and Sabo hummed. "I know that look. You can ask him, he's coming for New Years." That was true, Ace would probably come tomorrow.

The day then went on normally, and when the next one came, Dust landed on the railing around noon, and cawed, and Ace appeared, and Luffy was quickly hugging him. "Ace!" Ace chuckled. "Hey, Lu. You okay?" Luffy nodded. "Yes! You came for New Years!" Ace nodded. "Said I would." Luffy grinned. "Yes!" Luffy then ran in to get something from his room. And as he did, Sabo went over to his brother. "Great work with the executioner." Ace blinked, before he looked at his brother. "How do you know that? That was yesterday, it hasn't reached the news yet." Sabo hummed. "Saw the broadcast." Ace sighed. "And why were you allowed to watch that?" Asked Ace, turning to look at him, and he didn't know what to say, when Sabo spoke. "I snuck inside. They didn't know until it was too late. My fault." Ace sighed, but didn't say anything. Sabo shouldn't have watched that, in case it could have gone bad.

The day then went on, Luffy showing Ace different things he had found, being glad to see his older brother, which he got. When the clock was nearing 2, Izou came towards him. "Pops, Shanks is approaching us. Not battle ready." He did at times, and before he could redact on it, Ace looked at Sabo. "Did you invite him?" Sabo nodded. "I did, it is New Years!" Ace sighed. "Fine, fine. Anyhow, I need to leave, and yes, I will be back before midnight. I'll just be gone for an hour." That was good. They would also dock soon, as they were headed to an island, just to relax for New Years.

When they did dock, there was already another crew on the island, but they were nice ones. Not friendly ones, but they were neutral, another crew, who probably didn't want a fight. And, they needed to be friendly to not start something. Shanks also joined them and didn't say anything against them. Ace had barely been out for 5 minutes, before he said he needed to do something, but wouldn't leave the ship. But, after they had been docked for maybe an hour, Shanks made an unsure motion, looking to be trying to speak, before looking at him. "Question, that hat Thatch has. Where is it from?" Whitebeard gave a frown, wondering why that had the red-haired captain so nervous. "I think the captain from the Pescadores pirates." Whitebeard had to say he liked that name, seeing as it meant "Fishmen" in fishman, and it was the other pirate's that were here. The captain didn't look like the friendliest, but he seemed to be nice. They were all fishmen, although a few were hybrids. He was sure Namur would have loved to be here, but he was busy far away with some work right now. The fact he had heard about them from Jimbei helped.

The red-haired captain made some motions again, before looking at Benn. "Benn, can y-" "No." Said the first man to Shanks, making Shanks seem more nervous. "Why? Is there anything wrong with the hat?" Asked the captain. Shanks opened his mouth a few times, before shaking his head. "No, not at all. Just- I need to- Sabo, where's Ace?" The last part was said towards the blond kid. "In our room." Answered Sabo. The red-haired captain nodded and headed towards the room as Sabo half tried to stop the man. "But, he's a bit annoyed." The other captain didn't seem to care as he heard Shanks knocking on the door, as it was close to the deck here.

And, not a second later, the door to the hallway closed even as they closed automatically, he heard Ace yell. "What! What is it Shanks?! I want 5 fucking seconds of peace!" Sabo gave a small breath. "Or, he's pissed." The captain was about to ask what was happening when the door to the hallway opened in a bang, the assassin standing there obviously angry, face full of fury and body language like a murderer. "Oh for Lord'ssake!" The assassin said as he started walking, or more like stalking, fast over the deck, even the air around him seemed to be cracking, everyone out on deck taking a step backwards. And, Whitebeard had to say, if he wasn't seated in his chair, he would have taken a step back himself. What was this about?

He felt himself worried when the assassin was clearly headed for Thatch, the chef seeming to notice this and obviously on his way to cower or give out a plea for his life- which the captain got. The man looked like he was beyond furious. When the assassin was close enough to Thatch, he grabbed the hat and stalked to the left, towards the other crew. "Nicolas! Get your fucking ass out here so I can castrate you with your own teeth!" Then the assassin headed to the ship, other doors banging open or shut, before he could hear the faint sound of yelling and screaming.

Thatch was then by him, still looking shocked. "W-what- was there anything wrong with the hat?" Whitebeard had no idea and just shook his head, glad none of them were on the end of that anger. Shanks then was there and gave a sigh. "The words on it, did Nicolas say what it said?" Thatch gave a frown. "He said it was made for a chef, something about cooking." Shanks shook his head. "No, that hat said 'eat me, I'm human'. He's done it before- even gotten a few killed- and Ace has warned him before. I have a feeling he didn't know Ace was here." The chef looked horrified by that, and the captain could understand that. He had heard about fishmen eating humans. Whitebeard could even see people scurrying out of the other boat, obviously trying to get away from Ace. None of them really knew what to do.

After a couple minutes, Ace came out of the boat, banging the door behind himself, still looking angry. "José! Your captain needs urgent medical attention!" The man, José, who was the crew's doctor based on his medical coat, rushed inside the boat, Ace fuming as he walked. When he was close to them, he turned to look at Luffy and Sabo, the murdering aura disappearing and a smile and kind look appearing on his face. "You two are never allowed to injure anyone while mad, or swear. At least you, Lu." The two nodded, Luffy giving a grin. "That's your thing!" Ace gave a nod. "Right. But now, I need to leave for a bit, you know how to call me. And yes, Sabo, I am back before midnight." The two gave a nod, and Ace gave a small pat to Luffy's head, before disappearing in black smoke.

When he was gone, Shanks gave a small shudder. "I'm glad I've never pissed him off that much." The others could only nod. "And, that change in mood, was… I don't know, something." Said Izou, looking shocked. Sabo nodded. "Yeah, it can also go the other way. He can turn from kind to murderous in the split of a second." Shanks gave a nod to that too. "Oh yeah, that is so terrifying." The red-hair pirates and the two brothers nodded, making the captain hope they would never be at the end of that anger.

"Wha- what did he do?" Asked Thatch, looking at the other ship. Shanks sent a look at Sabo, who moved to cover Luffy's ears, before looking at Thatch. "Most likely what he said. Ace always keeps his promises." Thatch blinked. "He… he actually castrated him with his own teeth?" Shanks nodded. "Probably, he's done it before. He said a body is very bendable when you know where to push." It had Thatch, as well as most, including himself, shudder at it. Ace was terrifying.

Then it was calm for the next hours, the other crew left, probably scared of Ace. When the hours had passed, Ace showed back up, smiling at his brothers. "See, I said I would get back before midnight." Luffy nodded and smiled. "Yeah! I can't wait!" Then the night went on, and they counted down for midnight when that time came. Luffy was especially happy to count down and was running around and eating food. Sabo was a bit more to the side. When it turned to midnight and the clock was maybe half past, Ace disappeared, and he wondered where he might be, as his brothers were outside. Marco was also gone, which was odd. He was usually out watching that someone didn't go overboard. But at the same time, things were a bit calm, probably still because of the two kids. If they did anything wrong with them or around them, he was sure Ace would be mad. And no one wanted that, that display earlier, with the other crew, was proof enough.

When the clock was nearing 1am, Shanks asked for Ace, and Sabo said he was busy, he would come when he could. And not long after, Ace did show up, which had Sabo frown a bit, but he didn't say anything. It was as if Sabo expected Ace to be gone longer. Why, he didn't know. Ace hadn't said he was gone for something, he had just left for the inside a bit earlier he thought. He couldn't really feel Ace's presence, but it was on the boat.

The night then went on, before he turned in for the night, as it was late, before the next day came, and as it was and most were awake, Luffy moved his hands up. "I am setting out soon! This year!" He was, it wasn't that long. Ace sighed. "About that, Lu. Could you wait one more year?" Luffy blinked, his smile falling. "Why?" Ace looked at his youngest brother. "Because you need to learn more. I think you need more time, just a year, please?" He got Ace wanted that.

Luffy stood still, before he nodded slowly. "I can try…" Ace smiled. "Thank you, Lu." Luffy puffed his cheeks up. "So, I will be 18 when I set out?" Ace nodded. "Yes. Let's make a deal, okay? If, you find anyone you like, and you want them to join you, you can make them join here until you set out. Fair?" Luffy blinked, before he nodded and smiled. "Yes! Thank you, Ace!" Ace smiled. "No, thank you. You will manage to set out, you will. Just a year later." Luffy nodded. "Yes!" He was still excited, which was good. And he agreed. The world was dangerous, so this made sense. That meant he would have them for a year more, which was fine by him. He just hoped it all would go fine.
