Chapter 144: The Final Battle Part 6
When the door opened, Tom and Sarah gazed at the M'arrillian for a second. The three froze in place for a split second, before the humans fired.
Rath'tab grunted as he felt the bullets go into his body. He couldn't ignore the pain. When the two humans stopped shooting at him, he was on the ground and screaming. He closed his eyes and tried to ignore the pain.
Tom and Sarah ran away. The girl made sure to stomp on the face of the Chieftain before they left the room.
(I'll get you Sarah!) Rath'tab yelled out in vengeance. He ignored the pain and flew into the air; he went to chase after them. He quickly caught them and went in front of the two humans.
The two teenagers didn't finish reloading their guns and couldn't fire at the creature.
The Chieftain slapped the girl and she hit the wall.
Sarah grunted as she put her hand on her head and saw stars, dazed by the slap.
He grabbed Tom first and lifted the male human, "Time to get my revenge on you Tom. You humiliated me and I'll get you for that."
"You're still not over it?" Tom asked, taken by surprise at how much of a grudge the creature held against him.
"A human like you cannot be better than me! I will make sure to rough you up just enough… After all, you try to escape and I have to be a little rough to stop you." He threw the boy against the wall.
"Tom!" Sarah yelled as she tried to stand up. She fell on the ground, still dizzy from the impact. She couldn't lift the gun and reload in her state.
Tom fell on the ground and repressed the desire to yell out in pain. He hit the wall face first. He had a nosebleed and not a small one at that. Nothing was broken, thankfully. He put his hand on his face as blood fell on the ground. He glared at the creature as he searched for his gun. He then realized he dropped it on the ground near the M'arrillian.
"Not roughed up enough. I can see it in your eyes. Defiance," Rath'tab growled. With one hit, he broke the gun.
Suddenly, five wind attacks hit the M'arrillian at the same time and sent him away.
"You have done enough!" Gathup and four Mipedian soldiers appeared by his side, ready to fight the creature.
"G-good," Sarah sighed in relief.
One of the Mipedian went by her side and checked on her, "You'll get better soon."
Another one came to the side of the teenage boy. "Hold on," he grabbed the human.
"You three, leave with the two. We will make sure Rath'tab pays for this," Gathup growled as he showed his fangs. He would make sure the Chieftain regretted attacking Peyton's friends.
Rath'tab cursed himself as he tried to retreat. He was attacked on the back with energy and wind attacks. He fell on the ground and quickly raised ice before he escaped once again.
Gathup grunted as the battle was already over. He turned around and saw the two Mipedians still there, "Forget about him. We leave this town right now and evacuate you two," he let out a small smile, "Sorry we are late, but you are safe now."
The two teenagers could only say, "Thank you."
"No problem. We should hurry. Not sure if Milla'iin beat Aval'par or not," the Mipedian replied.
The five quickly left the building for the rendezvous point. Once they were done, they intended to join the battle against what remained of the M'arrillians.
Despite the hole opened in the building when the alliance attacked, they couldn't approach it safely. They had little cover and the Mipedians couldn't repeat their trick again.
Still, they had the building surrounded and continued the assault. It was only a matter of time before the M'arrilians fell.
In the air, the battle still went on between the creatures.
Gal'drad avoided a tidal wave coming at him and countered with his own against Neth'uar, which missed the target.
The two stopped for a few seconds afterward and panted in exhaustion. Their fight was pretty much in a standstill, just like the battle below them.
"This is all you got Gal'drad?"
"No….but it will be over soon," the chieftain said. He suddenly had a thought, "Where are the children and their parents? They are not in the building, aren't they?" He dreaded the innocent victims if that was the case.
"No. They would have left already if that was the case," Neth'uar replied. He gazed to the side and admitted, "This morning, Milla'iin ordered them to leave the city in their mind. We received nothing about any of you attacking them," he admitted. The worm creature let out a small grin, "Anyway," he raised a tendril, "The creatures and those humans left themselves… quite open," he let out a small chuckle.
"What do you-" Gal'drad realized that something was going on under him. He looked down and saw a counter attack from the M'arrillians. Not the type he expected.
"M'arrillians won't fall today Gal'drad. Also, this isn't my plan," Neth'uar explained, before he attacked the other M'arrillian by surprise.
Gal'drad was hit by the energy blast and lost a bit of altitude before he stabilized himself. He grunted something under his breath. He never asked that question and the others did the same.
Humans and creatures were taken aback when more humans came with weapons in their hands. None of them had guns, but baseball bats and metal pipes and other improvised weapons.
It was the humans who were under the control of the M'arrillian who struck at them.
George quickly noticed it and yelled, "Don't shoot at them! Restrain them all!" He grunted when he received a hit to the side and fell on the ground.
Maxxor quickly grabbed the metal pipe of the mind-controlled human and attacked with sleeping stings, "Use sleeping stings on them!"
He was hit in the back by one of the M'arrillian in cover. He stood up and retreated to stop the humans under the control of the M'arrillians to attack them. He hoped Chaor wouldn't kill anyone who attacked him.
Arias quickly got many of them under control, as he either put them to sleep or by helping a human restrain them with ropes.
Despite all that, it cost them a lot as they left themselves open to many attacks from the M'arrillians, who didn't care if the humans they controlled were hurt or killed.
It took a while, but they managed to restrain most of the humans.
The leader of the Overworld quickly decided on their next action. He gazed at George, "Watch over them. We creatures will take care of the M'arrillians."
George nodded as he requested the order to his superior, which was accepted, "Grab the prisoners and retreat!"
The humans did that and left the battleground with the restrained mind-controlled humans.
Chaor let out a small smirk once that order was given. The battle turned into creatures against creatures only. Still, he wished he could make Milla'iin pay, but he wasn't here.
He threw a few fireballs at the M'arrillians who showed their faces and took cover. They needed to get closer, but couldn't. The M'arrillians currently had the advantage. It was like storming the walls of Kiru city. It wouldn't be easy.
The Underworlder grinned, "Those walls will fall down eventually." The walls were much thinner than the walls of Kiru city. Especially since it wasn't a wall, but a place where humans worked together at something he didn't care much about, "Keep attacking!"
His tribe continued their assault with vigor. They weren't bothered by the humans who were under the control of the M'arrillians. His blue eyes shined a little brighter as he could feel a hint of desperation coming from the enemies. He knew that the end was near and victory was coming.
"We have a report that the humans are with the Mipedians and currently evacuating," one human said.
The creature let out a small grin as it was time to go all out.
Wamma let out a relieved smile when he heard the report. He was glad she was safe and sound. Still, he didn't hear if they were hurt or not. He decided he would fight as if they hurt her. He gave everything he had and doubled his vigor in his offensive.
The blue Danian noticed that Wamma approached a little too quickly and without any cover to protect himself from any attacks.
The Danians slowly advanced towards the building, enduring the pain and destroying the building slowly and surely.
The red beetle grunted when he was hit by ironballs. He quickly raised his arms to protect himself and quickly took cover.
Ofu-Bathax grumbled as he came near him, "Don't get too reckless Wamma!" He noticed that the M'arrillians were more aggressive and they couldn't progress for now.
He raised his fist and hit the ground, raising the ground for cover.
The Danians quickly went behind the makeshift wall and continued their assault.
Wamma nodded as he moved his arms away, feeling blood coming out of his snout, but didn't complain, "Won't repeat that again." He gazed back. There were a few Danians on the ground, either unconscious or dead. He wouldn't know for certain until it was over. Thankfully, they weren't attacked by the M'arrillians as they were down.
Theb-Saar observed the progression of the fight. He used one of the human battlegear to watch farther away. He had a small smile as his soldiers managed to find the two friends of Peyton and were evacuating right now. The blue Mipedian hoped that Aval'par would be alright, with how much risk he put himself in just to save the two humans.
He focused on the fight. He noticed that the four tribes surrounded the building and slowly approached. Still, they currently couldn't progress any further. They were pretty close, but were still a little bit vulnerable from attacks from above.
He watched the sky and the fight went on. Theb-Saar guessed that the battle on the ground was the most important part. He then refocused on the building. They needed to find a way to continue to push the line. They couldn't just wait forever. He sighed as he had no idea.
Their troops were reduced with the human soldiers busy restraining and containing the humans under the control of the M'arrillians. The good thing was that they quickly got them under control and wouldn't hurt their tribes for now.
The king of the Mipedians decided that rushing might eventually be the best option. For now, they would refrain from such tactics. They didn't fight against time itself. They needed to be careful and meticulous. He just hoped they would receive the confirmation that the humans were evacuated soon.
If he got nothing, he would ask for an update. It could turn bad at any time if the M'arrillians got those two under their control again.
Milla'iin continued his search and slowed down when he noticed Rath'tab flying towards him. He noticed the wounds and ordered, "What happened?"
"Milla'iin. I went after the two humans while you were fighting against Aval'par. The Mipedians managed to find them. Five of them. I couldn't fight them at once and retreated."
The eye of the yellow M'arrillian shined as he realized they had little time, "Where are they? We need to capture them immediately or it's over for us! The humans we sent against them are already under the other tribe's control. They are restrained and we cannot use them anymore."
"Right," the blue M'arrillian nodded as he turned back and followed his leader. He just hoped that the humans wouldn't say anything about roughing them up. Because he knew it might give him trouble with Milla'iin.
AC: This is the end of this chapter.
Next: The Mipedians must protect the two humans from the two M'arrillians, while the battle approaches the climax.
