Hello again, wonderful people! I'm sorry that I haven't updated in so long. But! Here's a new chapter!
"Uhh, thanks, Mr. Ronin." Kate was the one to break the silence around them.
"Yeah, Thank you." Lia echoed. Her eyes were locked on her hands, just noticing that they were covered with something. With a sinking feeling, Lia guessed what it was, but with the shadows stretching further across the ground, she couldn't clearly see it. Taking a deep breath, she put her gun back in her pocket before bending down and scooping up from one of the men lying on the ground, worryingly silent.
"How did you kids get involved with the Tracksuit Mafia?" His voice rang through the alley.
Kate shrugged. "That's what I was asking!"
Lia rolled her eyes. "I don't know! One just decided to be all stalkerish." She said.
Ronin made a sound that sounded suspiciously like a laugh. "What did you two do that attracted their attention?"
Kate and Lia shared a look. "We may have, possibly, stolen from them." Kate admitted.
"What did you steal?"
Lia gave an innocent look. "Uhh, drugs, money, weapons. That kinda stuff."
Ronin sighed. "Stop stealing, stay safe, I'll take care of this. Stop getting involved." He ordered. He ran out of the alley, leaving the twins there.
"Did he just order us around?" Kate asked incredulously.
Lia snickered. "Yes, he did."
"Are we going to listen to him?"
"Knowing us, no. Not at all." Lia laughed.
"...So tracking?"
"Of course." The two girls made their way back to their apartment, being extra careful to not be followed. They quickly changed into their suits and put the masks on. Lia grabbed her mostly full quiver and tossed it to Kate. "You shoot, I'll use a gun."
"Okay. But do we have to wear these masks?" Kate pouted.
Lia rolled her eyes. "Yes, we do. We are still minors. We shouldn't go around with our faces clear to see. It was bad enough that they found me today. We don't need that again."
Kate sighed but agreed, pulling out a laptop and handing it to Lia. "Did you manage to tracker him or are we doing this the old fashioned way?"
"You can never go wrong with old fashioned." Lia smirked. She opened the laptop and easily started hacking in to see the CCTV cameras. With half the people gone, less people were in security jobs, having to work in more essential sectors. It made it laughingly easy to hack something, which Lia used to her advantage whenever she could. Once the meeting from the alley was pulled up, Lia crossed it with electronic scanning and detected a phone on Ronin, along with one's for most of the guys. Lia pulled up the phone signature and started a tracker, looking for the current location.
"Kate, did you manage to snag a phone off one of the guys?" Lia called across the apartment.
Kate peeked her head from the kitchen with a spoon hanging out of her mouth and ice cream in her hand. "Y-umff." She answered. Lia stared at her for a moment before Kate took the spoon out of her mouth and smiled innocently. "Yeah, I did. It's on the coffee table with the other stuff we grabbed."
Lia went over and took one of the phones in the pile. It took a few moments to take out the SD card and then clear the phone. I sent over the tracer and set it up to easily follow.
"Alright. It's ready Kate. We leave in ten." Lia called, walking over to their spare room and grabbing a little extra ammunition. Because knowing the twins, they'd run out.
Ten minutes later, the twins were creeping up the fire escape and jumping up onto the roof. Lia led with the phone tracker and Kate followed, keeping an eye out for any tails or disturbances.
They reached their destination and spotted Ronin on the roof, looking through a skylight. In the time between the meeting in the alley and now, the sun had completely set, leaving darkness which easily hid both Ronin and the twins. They landed on the roof with practiced silence and crept up next to Ronin, looking down into the skylight.
Inside, there was some sort of meeting with people in a circle. One man was leading it, gesturing as if he was giving some great speech. The other people were all looking at him, listening.
"What is this, a cult meeting?" Kate and Lia muttered in unison. A trait they'd picked up over time.
Ronin hadn't seemed to really notice the two before, but he did now, turning to them. "What are you two doing here? I thought I told you to stay out of this."
Hope you enjoyed the chapter! Let me know what you think! Thank you for reading this far! See you next time! - Crystal :)
