From inside the Throne Room back on Mirage Island, Courtney and The Grand Master oversaw the events transpiring in Arcana via the Singularity. The war they had been dreaming of was finally at hand and the intense battling could only further drain Arcana of strength to oppose their regime. In his haste to try and overcome them, her precious Michael Kingston will have brought about Arcana's ultimate defeat. All they needed was for the Black Knight to deal with the White Mage in his own order. A feat which Courtney still doubted.
"Master" she inquired, "could it be possible that the Knight isn't ready for this?"
I can sense that The Mage's power is impeccable. I must say, I did not expect Addison Tenton to be capable of such feats. A truly impressive human if not for her arrogance. But the resolve of the Knight to destroy her is equally strong. Who would have guessed hatred could run so deeply?
Courtney nodded. He was right. After all, she personally had it practically implanted into the head of the Black Knight that he was their ultimate weapon of war. The Master giving him the Mark of the Singularity did the rest of the job for her. The Knight was the ultimate weapon. A combination of man and Pokemon. Fueled by nothing but a bitter hatred and rage. When one was in such a rampage, could even uncommon traits as Addison's triumph over him? "Besides, Master. If he does fail, you can sweep that little tramp aside like it was nothing." She giggled, hoping the Master would enjoy her brown nosing, but he did not.
His attention was distracted. Instead of relishing in his inevitable victory, he was focused on something completely different going on where they were on the Island. What is...what is that power? I sense something is...amiss...
Courtney tried to hone in and felt a tremendous amount of Psychic Power coming from somewhere in the base. More power than she had felt in anyone since Team Arcana succeeded in freeing Michael from the influence of the Singularity. "I feel it. It's tremendous. Could it be that your clones are finally tapping into their power?"
The mighty Pokemon shook his head. No. I would feel a familiar power growing. This is not familiar to me. There is an aura of light in here.
Courtney frowned angrily. "Cresselia."
The Master glared down at her. I thought Avery Frost was dealt with.
"Darkrai was" she explained, "but it would seem that the other half of his coin still seems eager to be a pest." She took up the Poke Ball containing her Magmortar and cursed herself for allowing this to transpire. "You needn't worry about it a moment longer, Master. I shall go take care of the little beast, myself. Enjoy your victory, My Master."
I grow weary of your incompetence, Courtney. Bring me a head, this time.
Courtney cracked her knuckles and departed. "Done deal."

Amanda nervously paced around the otherwise listless Dream Harvesting Chamber as Cresselia continued to accrue more and more power. Every nerve in her body was on high alert, knowing that it would not take long for Mewtwo or Courtney to hone in on the power brimming from inside their chamber if they were to return from Arcana early. Then again, she suspected if they came home early, the battle was already decided. A thought that horrified her. She needed to see Billy and Adrian, not to mention her parents and other loved ones at least one more time before the world ended.
Helen Wong remained frozen by the side of Avery Frost, unable to speak or make any movements. Amanda could tell that she was horrified by the consequences of choosing the wrong side. What would become of her family if Mewtwo discovered her treachery, she did not bear to think of. Avery was the lone bastion of strength the other two allegedly profound intellectuals could lean on. Luck and the Unknown were her specialties. Amanda and Helen based themselves in what they knew was possible. But even that stance was waning the more they found themselves trapped in the Realm of Dreams. Avery had more mental strength inside of her than either Professor dared to show.
Cresselia continued to accrue power as fast as possible, but the longer it took, the more anxiety filled the chamber. Waking this many Trainers from the Dark Void would take an astronomical amount of power. Even the amount Mewtwo had might not be enough.
"Why can't we be done with this already?" Amanda worriedly chirped. "The longer we take, the more likely we get caught!"
"We can't rush Cresselia to gain more power" Avery admonished. "No matter how much we wish we could."
"I wish I had an X Special on me" Professor Wong said sadly.
"Or maybe Cresslia knew something like Tail Glow?" Amanda continued.
A shining energy began to glow around Cresselia, showing that it's lengthy process was working. She honked approvingly as she continued to draw more and more of it from inside of her. Avery made to give a cheery response, but a stray Flame Burst nearly struck Cresselia down. Darkrai, who had been keeping guard over the lower portions of the chamber, flew upward and howled a warning.
Amanda spun around and cried out. "NO!"
"See, this is why I hate that the Master was so merciful to you, Amanda" Courtney snarled, her Magmortar by her side. "Why show mercy to people who clearly don't deserve it." She glared down at Wong. "And how disappointed will he be when he finds out that his own beloved 'sister' is in on this little betrayal?!"
Avery looked to Darkrai, who shot out a Dark Pulse that struck the Magmortar in the head, but he quickly recovered. "Get lost, Courtney!"
"Not on your life, Missy" she giggled. "I could destroy you here and now, or I can simply delay you."
"What do you mean?" Wong asked.
"Simple. These Trainers might be the key to my master's defeat. I cannot allow them to wake up until our victory is assured. That will come when the White Mage and Black Knight clash on the field of battle."
"The Black Knight?" Avery asked.
"The White Mage?" Amanda added. "But you destroyed Ryan."
"Whoever said that runt was the White Mage?" Courtney replied coldly. "Addison Tenton and the Black Knight will have a clash for the ages, which will end in our ultimate victory. All I need do is delay you long enough for your total and complete defeat. Then the Master can decide what to do with you!" She looked to her Magmortar and nodded. The Magmortar sent another Flame Burst at Cresselia, hitting it in the head and causing it to fall out of the air. Darkrai responded by unleashing another Dark Pulse, but it only struck the wall behind Courtney.
Cresselia recovered and tried to keep gaining more power, but the Magmortar unleashed a volley of Flame Bursts. Amanda's Fearow flew into the air and attempted to Drill Peck the Magmortar, who launched a Confuse Ray at it and causing it crash into the wall. Darkrai sent another Dark Pulse at the Magmortar, who took the blow and again recovered, it's focus entirely on annihilating Cresselia.
Avery realized her plan and was horrified. "We need to keep her from attacking Cresselia! Or else we're doomed!"
{}
As the claustrophobic feeling of the battle began to sink in, Addison and her friends agreed to move forward as one unit. While Tommy rode his Donphan into the swarms of Arboks and Muks right in front of them, Addison used her scepter to send telekinetic attacks at the Golbats, warding them off. Holly continually had her Roserade use Grassy Terrain to allow them all to replenish health as needed and Matthew would have his Marowak use Bonemerang attacks to drive off any stray Houndooms or Skuntanks that came their way. High above them, a swarm of Mandibuzz's and Braviary's caused a great deal of trouble for Michael, Mark and Lizzie, causing them to battle more and be unable to provide much aerial support.
All around them, the battle was full on encompassing. There was no peace or tranquility wherever they looked. In every direction, Pokemon and trainers alike were suffering. Big Mike's Machamp continued to throttle Pokemon, while the man himself was in a fistfight with an entire group of Syndicate Peons who had attempted to surround and take his daughter prisoner. Greg's Flygon sent Sand Tombs all over their area as he and Victoria did their best to fend off the coming swarms. Olivia Novren and Erin Kingston's Pokemon were sending out Moonblasts and Heat Waves respectively to drive off more opponents as the Arcana Police Force continued it's long struggle to send these villains backward.
Tommy's Donphan used it's trunk to slam away an attacking Persian, prompting him to cheer. "Keep going, Tantor!" The Donphan trumpeted loudly before ramming into a Purugly that eyed it the wrong way.
Addison's scepter sent a Psybeam at an incoming Weezing that was glowing like it was about to Self-Destruct, launching it backwards. "Any sign of the Black Knight?"
"Not from my end" Tommy answered. "Holly?"
The blonde maiden shook her head. "Nothing here. Matt?"
"The same" he grumpily responded. The ground rocked nearby as a stray Fire Blast struck the ground nearby. "We can't get anything without some aerial coverage!"
"They seem kinda busy at the moment" Tommy reflected.
"Then let me add to them!"
Seeing Matthew about to call out his Noivern, Addison begged to stop him. "Matt! We need to stick together."
He shook his head in defiance. "Addy, we need to make sure you get to this Black Knight unscathed. Then we're all going to help out elsewhere. Holly and Tommy can take you the rest of the way!" When he realized she wasn't budging, he looked at her earnestly. "I can't help more if you hold me back."
Addison begrudgingly nodded. "Do what you need to. Just be careful!"
Matthew recalled his Marowak and leaped onto the back of his Noivern, soaring into the skies and spitting out Dragon Pulses left and right to give much better aerial coverage. It also helped that the Beta Group had begun their assault, with Cameron Kingston atop her Salamence and Garret Fiveroux's Archeops using AncientPower to utterly savage Pokemon in the air that Matthew and Cameron could not get to. Addison thought through the smoke and flames that she could see Christopher Kingston and Piper Pines moving through the battlefield together. She was happy to see the two getting along so well.
"Okay, let's keep moving" Addison called to her friends.
"Piece of cake" Tommy declared, sending his rampaging Donphan forward. He gestured for Addison and Holly to climb onto his Pokemon's back, allowing the Ground Type to use it's signature Earthquake to level the battlefield in front of them. Nearly a dozen Syndicate Troops were bowled over in the attack and their Pokemon bounced around like they were in a pinball machine.
"Let's not get in over our heads" Holly told her brother, renewing their Grassy Terrain to replenish health.
Addison paused when she saw a vision in her head. A tremendous amount of smoke filled her line of sight, but just at her feet was the iron mask of the Black Knight. Their confrontation was imminent now. But she was so transfixed by this vision that she did not notice at first the Fire Blast coming their way. She panicked when she saw it and created a Light Screen to shield them, but the blast struck Tommy's Donphan hard and it knocked the boy off his Pokemon. Before Tommy could land, a pack of Houndoom descended upon him, biting and slashing at him.
"TOMMY!" Holly screamed in horror.
The Donphan recovered and used Rollout to protect his trainer and drive the attacking Houndooms off. Addison sent a Dazzling Gleam attack to strike a few of the remaining ones as she and Holly looked over the young Queensbury boy. His face was violently slashed and bitten, covered in blood. The boy was knocked unconscious by the attacks and his fall from the Donphan.
Holly cradled her baby brother in her arms. "TOMMY! PLEASE WAKE UP! TOMMY!"
Addison looked for the source of the attack and scowled. On top of the many hills that made up the Crag Hills, The Black Knight stared down at her with what she had to expect was utter contempt. Without waiting another second, Addison helped Holly take Tommy off the field of battle and put him on the back of his Donphan, before shoving her on top as well. "Get him to the Medical Wing! GO!" Holly did not debate and sent the Houndoom galloping off.
Rosemary's Alakazam appeared by her side. Your time has come, Mage.
She looked down and gestured towards the battle. "Help out wherever you see you're needed. Go!"
The Pokemon nodded and vanished without a trace. With that, Addison turned her full attention onto the Black Knight. She felt herself boiling in anger at the sight of her seriously injured friend and began to walk slowly to his position. A Salazzle attempted to intervene by using a Fire Lash attack, but she simply bashed it aside with her scepter as she came within striking distance of her fierce rival. Her fists tightened around the scepter as she glared at her enemy.
"You're going to regret doing that!" she warned.
"I expect as much" the Knight replied. "I see you have exponential power, Mage. More than my Master even anticipated." He held out his arms, the tonfas on his arms glowing with the power of flames. "But as you can see, I have reached levels you could only dream of. You are indeed powerful, but you are not a challenge to him yet."
"This is where it ends, Knight!" she growled.
The Knight seemed disinterested and held his hands out to the heavens, which themselves seemed to be burning. "Indeed. Our battle began long ago and will end on this field. The Master has seen it. You do not have the power inside of you to destroy me, no matter how well you were taught."
"You even said I was more powerful than you thought" she mocked. "Trying to recant?"
"There are some powers in this universe no one is prepared to use" he hissed.
"Then show it to me!"
"GLADLY!"
The Knight leaped forward, his Tonfa aimed directly at her head. Addison used her scepter to block the blow, the gemstone catching the blow and the two clashed, holding their ground with one another. Addison and the Knight exchanged a series of parries and strikes, with each being met.
Something's odd. Addison could feel as if something was strangely familiar about this. With every blow of a tonfa against her scepter, she thought she could hear a faint roar of a Pokemon in the distance, but she chalked it off to just being surrounded by the battle. To get a bit of distance between them, Addison slammed her scepter on the ground, launching the Knight back several feet. She attempted to channel in more power for herself, but the Knight recovered quickly and rushed at her, his tonfas now looking as if they were made of ice. One blow grazed her fingers as she held the scepter, freezing them in place.
"Ice too?" she remarked. "Man, your taskmaster gave you all sorts of power, didn't he?"
The attempt to degrade him went nowhere. "Or is it you're too weak to comprehend real power?"
"You'll find I'm full of surprises!" Addison's scepter glowed as if she were going to attack, but she instead teleported away. She reappeared behind him and tried to use a Telekinetic attack to ragdoll him, but he anticipated this and blocked the blow with his left tonfa. He then leaped forward and kicked her. His boot hit her squarely in the jaw and she fell backwards. She used her powers to cushion the fall and even anticipated his next move. He tried to bring down the power of Ice upon her, this time Addison thinking she could hear a barking of some kind. She sent a Fairy Wind into his face, prompting him to fall backwards. She recovered quickly and the two lunged forward and clashed. Though she knew he was indeed strong, Addison could not help but wonder if he was holding back. Or was she?
The Knight pressed his tonfa forward, trying to gauge her own inner resolve. She did not take the bait and instead used her telekinetic powers to try and drain his strength from him, if just temporarily. Her opponent staggered at this, allowing Addison to strike him hard in the head, causing him stagger backwards and out of her view. She knew to think better of enjoying the moment and focused on relocating him. He reappeared like lightning, striking hard at her with his tonfa, this time with the power of electricity. With all of these elements being used against her, she knew she would have to alter tactics to gain more power to combat this growing power.
But the Knight did not allow her such a break, attacking her with a full powered Shadow Claw. She tried to block it, but it struck her in the side of the face. As he face seemed to emit both ghoulish power and blood, she was doing her best not to show her surprise.
Seeing her disbelief, the Knight stopped their fight. "You seem confused."
"You have all of this power" she remarked.
"Unlike you, Miss Tenton, I pushed past the limits of my abilities. That pitiful Bond Phenomenon you have with your Gardevoir pales in comparison to mine!" He allowed an immense amount of inner strength to shoot out from him. Addison had to guard from a potential attack, but was shocked to see just how much power he truly had. Fire, Ice, Electric, Ground and even a mixture of Dark, Psychic, Ghost and Fighting Type. Whatever Mewtwo had done for his Champion had endowed him with the powers of multiple Pokemon. Perhaps these were the cries she had heard from the Ice and Fire attacks?
"Why would you let Mewtwo do that to you and your Pokemon?" she asked. "Trapping you all in the same body?!"
"You fail to see just how much power I now have" he replied. "They are the only true strengths in this world. Power."
The Mage shook her head. "There is strength out there far greater than personal power. I pity you for not being able to see it." She held her hand close to her heart, allowing herself to regain more energy in the process. "Relationships. Friendships. Family. All of these things that are true strengths that Mewtwo never had and never will understand. It's those that help make the world-"
"Love?!" the knight scoffed. "Is that where you're going with this?"
She sighed. "You don't partake?"
"All I know is that it is a path to treachery and heartache! Anyone who would sully themselves with such nonsense does not deserve a place in the Master's world!" He lunged forward, both tonfas glowing with power, only to be met by Addison's scepter. His moves were becoming much swifter, harsher and more ruthless for her to guard from. Thinking quickly, Addison used her scepter to force the Knight's arms down before striking him in the head with her scepter. The helmet of her opponent spun around, but the Knight fixed it into position before preparing to move again. Addison used another Fairy Wind to get some distance between her and her opponent, but the Knight dashed through it, this time attacking her with a different move. Seeing the fiercely violet color his tonfas had become, she knew this would be a Poison attack, something she knew their Bond form would not last through.
She slammed her scepter's end down on the ground, this time succeeding in launching her opponent backwards. Addison looked all around her to ensure her friends were doing fine in the battle. But the flames from the multiple Fire Blasts were obscuring her view and pinning her and her opponent within a few dozen feet of one another. She reached out telepathically to her Alakazam, but he did not respond, constantly aiding in the transporting of the wounded to Jenna Kingston's medical tents. She would have tried to contact either Michael or one of his Elite Four to gauge the feel of the battle, had she not predicted a ruthless Dig attack coming her way. She warped out of the way a split second before the Black Knight reemerged. His Tonfas had become as sharp as claws for the underground assault. He glanced back at her and scoffed.
"It would seem the Countess instructed you well" the Knight mocked. "You have control of your gifts." He warped right in front of her and began to bat away with his arms at her scepter. "Now is the time I truly test your resolve! To see what drives the White Mage to act as she has!" He warped away, appearing behind her, only to Sucker Punch her and knock her to the ground. The scepter tumbled from her hands as she tried to recover.
Addison raised her hand, accidentally snaring The Knight in a telekinetic attack. She took the opportunity to slam him into the ground repeatedly before launching him several feet backwards and beyond the wall of fire surrounding her. Gathering all of her inner psyche, Addison concentrated all of her energy on harnessing the wall of fire around them. Before the Knight could even tell what was going on, she sent the flames hurtling towards him in a Mystical Fire attack. The Knight used his Ice power to defend himself, but Addison appeared behind him and struck him in the head, resulting in him losing focus and the flames engulfing him. She struck him hard with her scepter after collecting it, sending the Knight to his knees.
"Yield!" she ordered. "There won't be another chance to surrender to me again!"
The Knight used a Low Sweep attack to push her backwards, before utilizing a Sky Uppercut to smash her in the head. She fell backwards, dazed by the blow, but leaped back up to her feet in time to once more parry and block from the tonfas raining down on her. Her opponent continued to remain in silence, as if probing her mind. She tried to block him out, but soon recalled how he had traversed into the past using her mind. He would not easily be smoked out of her mind if he was visiting her past. Knowing she had to get him out of there soon, she used all of her power to conjure a Dazzling Gleam attack. She sent the amount of light energy hurtling towards him, but he batted it aside. Addison felt herself getting weary, fatigued from the battle she had been forced to endure. The Knight, however, was just as equally drained.
"There is no escaping this, Mage" he warned. "Especially now that I have seen your mind."
"And what preconceptions did you get from a peek inside?"
The Knight shook his head. "No. I've seen it all. Everything that makes you the maiden you are." He concentrated his own powers and emitted a pulse of energy around them. Addison paused, thinking she could see the world around them slowing down. She kept her focus on the Knight who stalked about her. "I know your strengths, your weaknesses and above all, the hypocrisy that makes you such an interesting opponent for the Master, though I doubt you will get to face him by the time we're finished."
"Hypocrisy?" she echoed. "Just tell me you don't understand girls without admitting it."
"You are little more than a treacherous viper" he went on. "I know what your past actions have wrought. Serving as the source of conflict between two brothers. Choosing one over the other, driving them to hate each other. Constantly showing him nothing but contempt and mistrust, only to choose his brother after his passing. How much do you think Ryan would reel if he discovered your little moment with his brother in the Iron Cavern?!"
"My moment?"
"When he urged you to fight and you instead thrust yourself at him! And your words, 'I love you and I cannot live without you'! For all your talk of loyalty to your previous Kingston puppet, you tossed him aside as if it were nothing."
Addison lowered her head. "That's not what happened." She had spent days, weeks even, mourning Ryan. Even when Chris mentioned that he had run into him on Mirage Island, she so desperately wanted him by her side. She only rekindled her friendship with Matthew because of how much they both missed him. Their kiss...was from a moment of mental weakness on her part and Matthew knew this. So why would this being try to throw it back in her face?
"Does it matter?" he cruelly asked. "Your oath of love to Ryan was broken, not by his death, but by your disloyalty!"
Addison felt herself getting angry. "Disloyalty?"
"How quickly did you discard one for the other?" the Knight mocked. "How great was your spirit, knowing you never had to deal with Ryan Kingston ever again?!"
Now, she lost it. "HOW DARE YOU!?" She leaped forward, trying to engage the Knight, but he leaped out of the way. "GET BACK HERE!"
"You were Ryan's entire world. And here you are, acting like he never existed." He blocked another desperate attack from her before grabbing her scepter and yanking her forward. She received a harsh kick to her sides, causing her to roll down the hill and into a pile of ashes. She recovered, but the Knight tried to slam his knee into her to deliver a brutal blow. She warped out of the way and aimed the crystal on her scepter directly at his head.
"I will gladly remove your head if it means I don't have to hear another of your lies!" she threatened. "You know NOTHING of how much that day destroyed me!"
"Yet here you are" he concluded. "It clearly didn't harm you enough."
"I DIED THAT DAY!" she roared, calling all of the power she could to conjure a wickedly powerful Moonblast from the very heavens. The blast ripped through the smoky and stormy clouds, slamming with full force into the Black Knight. He howled in pain, but she continually thrust more and more upon him. She could feel her own inner reservoir of the Crimson Fury beginning to pour out of her and she allowed it to dictate her moves. When the Moonblast had concluded, she used her telekinetic powers with Galatea to ragdoll him. Slamming him into the ground repeatedly, she then launched him backwards. He tried to recover, but she fell upon him, continuing to rain blow after blow upon this armored monster.
"I LOST HIM THAT DAY! EVERY WAKING MOMENT OF MY LIFE I WONDER WHY HE DIED AND NOT ME! WHY I HAD TO LOSE THE ONE I LOVE!" She continued to slam her scepter into him, with every Psychic and Fairy attack she and Galatea could muster. She would not allow this to go on further than it already had. He had already tried to break her spirit. Now, she would break him. Completely.
He staggered to his feet, trying to regain control of the situation. "You are too-"
"YOU TALK TOO MUCH!" She used her telekinetic powers to grab him by the throat, strangling him with all of her hate fixated on him. She then levitated his body over a nearby column of flames, resulting in his cries of pain becoming more profound. She ceased this and then slammed him hard into the ground in front of her. Using her scepter like it was a baseball bat, she swung hard onto the Knight, a blinding flash of light causing them to separate. As he was launched several meters out of her sight, she tumbled backwards and landed hard on her back. She winced in pain as the Fury began to take it's toll on her heart. She glanced to her left. The Iron Mask of the Black Knight was smoldering by her side. The helmet had flown out of the way. But there was no sign of the Knight. Realizing she was too drained to continue the fight, she laid back and hoped for her to be reunited with Ryan.
Ryan...I'm so sorry...
{}
"What do you mean she's down?!" Matthew shrieked up at the King as he informed her of what had happened.
"She was battling the Knight and now she's down in that ash and debris" Michael replied, pointing down at the abyss of battling Pokemon, people and flames. "Go down there and make sure she doesn't need medical help!"
Without waiting another second, Matthew spun his Noivern around and sent her almost dive-bombing for the ground. The utter terror in his eyes signifying his fear that Addison had been harmed. He would never forgive himself if anything bad happened to her. Though he knew their odds of being together were long since gone, he knew it was his duty to at least fight for her. His search would get impaired by a few stray Mandibuzz's soaring into him and slashing at him with their wickedly sharp talons. He tried to have his Noivern fend them off, but he was slashed across the face, a scar forming on his lower cheek bone. His Noivern spat out a Dragon Pulse to scare the others off, but he knew he had no time to enjoy this match. He needed to find her.
The words he had been telling himself for the last month echoing in his head as he plummeted out of the skies in search of his best friend.
Even if it kills me...
{}
You are certain of this? Mewtwo demanded from his newest accomplice. He had been enjoying the battle as it had taken place, with his minions doing their part of wearing down Arcana's best defenders well enough for his clones to finish the job. But he had recently been contacted by The Black Knight that the end of the battle would be coming faster than either had anticipated. Addison Tenton had given into her fury to best him and the Knight revealed that he was without his helmet or mask. The endgame was coming and Mewtwo was almost jubilant. Things were going better than he could have even imagined. I will not have you fail me as others have, Knight!
"The time has come, Master" the Knight reiterated. "Your masterstroke will come to pass."
Very well. Keep them in place long enough for our arrival. He then glanced behind him at the nearly endless line of Cloned Pokemon eager to go to war with the humans of Arcana. His malice poured from every fiber of their beings. It gave him enough joy to almost let out a chuckle. He addressed them all personally. The time has come, my children. We will erase mankind from this world, one wretched little beast at a time! Let Courtney continue being a nuisance here with those others. So long as we achieve our victory, nothing else will matter! We will crush the White Mage and the King and never again will a mortal dare to challenge me! TO WAR!
The Pokemon let out howls of agreement and wicked joys. Mewtwo began to conjure himself and them a portal back to Arcana. All too easy...
{}
"Addy? Addy! Come on!"
"Ugh...what? Huh?" Addison's eyes twinkled open and she saw Matthew sitting over her. She felt a massive rush of energy in her head and moaned in pain as Matthew tried to keep her propped up. "What happened?"
"You tell me!" he cried. "One minute I saw you fighting that guy and the next you were down."
Addison clutched at her heart. "Something's wrong. I can feel it. I think I won, but there's something else going on."
Matthew helped her to her feet and held her in place. "Can you go on your own?"
She nodded. "I...uh...I think so." She held his hand for a moment and nodded. "Yeah. I'm good. I have to finish this. Then we can get ready to fight Mewtwo!" She patted him on the shoulder. "They'll need your help. I can take it from here." He nodded before letting go of her and rushing off and out of her sight. Addison took a deep breath and tried to concentrate on her enemy once more. But for some reason, she could not sense him. The deep chasm of hatred he had emanated to her and Galatea was still in the air, but the abyss of evil wasn't.
"Where is he, Galatea?" she inquired.
I can sense him...but...
"But what?"
I sense something else...something...familiar...
Addison took up the scepter by her side and shook off Galatea's concerns. "Let's just end this already. Come on." While the intense battling took place around them, Addison went in pursuit of her enemy. The Knight had to be lurking somewhere nearby. She needed to find him to ensure that he was finished or at the very least wounded to the point of allowing her to give him the chance to concede. She walked slowly through the warring all around her, her senses trying to locate the enemy. She sidestepped so many wounded Pokemon and bodies of people from both sides in her pursuit.
Her eyes located him. He was face down in the ground, moving very slightly. She moved closer to him, her scepter on guard for everything that could come from this. The Knight rose to his knee, his back to her. He made few sounds besides the random clings of his armor as he struggled back to his feet. His breathing was heavy, as if he had just dead lifted three times his weight and was brutally drained of all strength for the foreseeable future. Addison remained on guard as the Knight stumbled weakly to his feet.
"How would you know how I felt?!" she exclaimed angrily. "I lost everything that day!"
"Not everything" he responded.
Addison's heart stopped. That voice...it can't be...
"You couldn't begin to imagine what loss feels like" the knight spoke again. "How to realize no one cares that you're gone. That the only thing tethering you to this world was your Pokemon." He winced in extreme pain before straightening himself out, his body shaking as he recovered. "To see with your own eyes how the person you loved more than anything in this world chose to find comfort in your brother. You couldn't begin to imagine how much I've lost. And it's all because of you, Addy." The Knight turned to face her.
Addison's face went white. If this were indeed a trick by Mewtwo or something of the sort, it was a well designed one. He had the same dark hair, the exact same facial features and build as her best friend. On the center of his forehead was a mark similar to the whiplashes on the back of Michael and the one she had noticed on Courtney when they last met on Mirage Island. While most of her continued to stress that this was a trick, when she made eye contact with him, she knew it wasn't such a trick. The same emerald green eyes as the bandanna he once wore. The same emerald green eyes as his mother, Alison Kingston. The same emerald green eyes that she had fallen in love with. The same emerald green eyes that now looked at her with nothing but derision, heartache and contempt.
The Black Knight was Ryan Kingston.
