When Peter and Gwen got up from whatever just happened, they ran out of an alleyway where they found that they were in New York. Well, at least what was once supposed to be New York. It was hard to tell considering most of the buildings around them were disintegrating all around them. They saw what looked to be ghost cars zooming down the streets.
"No, no, no!" Peter Supreme cried in worry, worried about what was happening to the others. "Oh, god, no!"
Gwen walked out of the ally right behind him as she saw what happened to this reality. "What the hell happened here?"
"An incursion, if I had to guess." Peter Supreme stated as he walked off, followed by Gwen. "Two realities merged into one, but something must have stopped the process halfway through. Either that or this is a splinter in one of the BRANCHES."
"How many universes within universes are there?" Gwen asks him in curiosity. "Because it feels like there are so many rules."
"Because that's how it works." Peter Supreme tried to recap all the rules at once. "You have splinters, which is basically when the universe stops going and just...ends. Then you have realities that try to branch off, but end up being too similar and get trashed. And then...there's this. Realities trying to die but still standing. Something is keeping this world alive."
"What do you think it is?" Gwen wonders.
"Well, considering the fact that I'm able to feel my Mystical Arts return to me, I have a feeling that I am in a universe that is a splinter of my own universe." Peter Supreme stated, trying to open a BRANCHED portal, but there was no hope. "And it seems Morlun had enough time to drain the last of the Mirror energy out of me, meaning I can't get us back to them."
Gwen was however confused by that statement and thought of what happened. "Wait, you didn't use that power to open that portal that saved us?"
Peter Supreme stopped walking and turned back to Gwen. "Me? No. That wasn't me."
Gwen chuckled as she didn't seem to believe it. "What, you saying there is some mysterious force that just saved our lives?"
But then she watched as he didn't exactly show he had any idea to what had happened and became shocked. He had just as much idea of what happened back there just as much as she did.
"Oh..." Gwen was shocked to see he was clueless.
"Yeah, but whatever happened, let's just be grateful that we ended up here." Peter Supreme said as he kept walking, causing Gwen to run after him.
"So, what is the plan?" Gwen wonders what he was planning.
"Well, this is part of my multiverse, it means that there must be a version of me here who must still have power." Peter Supreme explains what he was planning. "If we find him, he could possibly help us, maybe there is a Mirror here he can use to help us get back to them. Maybe he has had the time to find a spell that can help us. Anything."
"Assuming he's alive," Gwen commented as they saw there weren't many people on the street.
"Fair." Peter Supreme had to agree, walking through the destroyed streets.
As they kept walking, they watched as a street to their left was being ripped out of the ground and sucked into the sky. To their right, they watched as what they assumed was the Brooklyn bridge was being ripped out of the ground and crashing into the river. The river was overflooding and was even on the streets, causing them to get their feet wet.
"I can see why everyone was so scared about incursions happening." Peter Supreme had to admit, it was pretty scary.
As they kept walking, Peter and Gwen had to take notice of the dozens of skulls and bones that were filling the streets on their way to the Sanctum. Seems that there were barely any people in this dimension, but there were bound to be a few powerful ones who were keeping this universe around. If there was nobody here, the universe would have trashed this world like the others.
"Whatever occurred here, this version of you didn't do a good job stopping it," Gwen commented, coming up to the Sanctum.
As they came up to the Sanctum, it seemed to be consumed by trees and the paint was rotting away on it. Giving the impression that someone wasn't taking care of it for quite some time. Then they felt their senses go off and they looked up to the infamous Sanctum window, which had a crack across it. They noticed there was someone inside watching them before tracing backward.
"I'll be sure to tell him you said that," Peter promised Gwen as he walked up to the doors. "Mind staying back?"
"What?" Gwen asks, wondering why he would ask that of her.
"This version of me...he would have lost you, too. I don't think it would be a good idea to being up old wounds like that." Peter Supreme explains, knowing this one must already be shattered because of what happened here. "And also, I need you back here in case something goes wrong."
"What could go wrong?" Gwen wonders as she decides to stay back.
Peter Supreme sighed as he turned back to face the doors in front of him. "Knowing my luck..."
Peter Supreme then pushed in the doors and made his way inside. But instead of the familiar Sanctum that he was expecting, he was met with wide open space and a staircase leading upward. This wasn't exactly what he figured this world would be like, but then again, this world was dying. Something was bound to have happened to the place that was keeping the reality together. Walking up to the staircase, stepping into the overclouding ocean at the bottom of the stairway. There was a sudden slam as the doors closed and shut behind him.
Peter looked back to the doors in worry but decided to just let it go as he has the same type of spell on his Sanctum to spook people away. He stepped in a puddle at the bottom of the stairs as he made his way upward the stairway. When he reached the top of the stairs, he saw a giant vortex that was absorbing everything that was being taken away from this reality. This must be the cortex that drags it all to the Nexus Point that he had just left from.
"Stop right there." A familiar voice called, getting Peter to look over and saw on a stairway going to the attic was a more Sinister-looking version of him in the shadows.
He wore clothes similar to Peter Supreme, except for the fact that there was no color to them anymore. He didn't seem to have a version of the Cloak of Levitation, meaning that he must have picked some other relic. That could have been what made him a different universe. And the biggest difference between the two was their hair. Peter Supreme's hairstyle is sleek and combed back to keep out of his face. Whilst Sinister Peter here has a more curly and ruffled-up look, looking like he hasn't brushed or cut it in a while.
He seemed nervous and worried at the sight of the doppelgänger. "Who are you?"
"I'm...one of us." Peter Supreme explains quickly, trying to not scare or spook his doppelgänger.
"From the multiverse?" Sinister Peter asked in surprise, making his way down to join Peter Supreme.
"That's right." Peter Supreme confirmed with him.
"That's...incredible." Sinister Peter said as he looked over his doppelgänger with a table separating them. "Fitz-Simmons would have loved to have seen this."
"Yeah, they would." Peter Supreme chuckled as he thought about his almost adoptive siblings. "I suspect that they didn't survive whatever happened here?"
"No, none of them did." Sinister Peter admitted as he looked to face the vortex eating his universe. "Clint, Nat, Coulson, Nick, everyone...eaten."
"What was it like here?" Peter Supreme asks, wanting to befriend him rather than scare him.
Sinister Peter walked over and leaned on a small pedestal. "I'd have to suspect it wasn't much different from your own universe. I lost Gwen in a battle against Norman Osborn, searched for answers in the Mystic Arts, then..."
Peter Supreme was curious to know what happened next. "Then what?"
"I lost." Sinister Peter confessed as he sighed and looked down at his feet.
"To who?" Peter Supreme wondered who this version of him fought that he didn't that brought his universe to an early grave.
But seems that Sinister Peter didn't want to answer that as he looked at Peter. "What do you want?"
"I...just wanna get home." Peter Supreme explained what he wanted, maybe this version of him could even be an ally to stop Morlun. "My friends are in danger."
"Yeah." Sinister Peter chuckled as he walked around, a hand slipping down to something on his belt. "Trust me, I've been trying to leave this place for a long time."
That's when Peter Supreme noticed what was on his belt and recognized what he was carrying. "The Darkhold? You're guarding the Darkhold in this universe?"
The Darkhold was known as the Book of the Dammed. People who have found that book have been driven mad by its knowledge, and it has led to chaos and death wherever it goes. In the original reality he was based off of, S.H.I.E.L.D. was almost destroyed because of it. Many people almost died because of it, and another universe was almost brought to its knees thanks to it.
Sinister Peter looked down at the Darkhold and caressed the cover. "Yeah. For good reason."
"That's a start. I could use that." Peter Supreme knew there was a risk in using the book, but he had a stronger mind than most. And thanks to his training in Mystic Arts, he was stronger-minded and able to hold off the effects of the book because of that. "It can help me find a way to get back to my friends."
"Just be careful." Sinister Peter warned his counterpart. "It exacts a heavy toll."
"I don't mean to sound insensible, but how much of a heavier toll left is there?" Peter Supreme asked as he gestured to the destroyed universe.
"Not just on its reality." Sinister Peter explained what he means by that. "But on its reader."
Peter Supreme sighed and knew he wouldn't give the Darkhold up like that. "Look, I'm sorry about what happened to your universe, but there's a chance you could help me save my world. Please, Peter."
Sinister Peter seemed to consider the idea as he started to back off and head towards the window. "Are you happy, Peter?"
"What?" Peter Supreme was a bit confused by the change of conversation.
"Are...you...happy...Peter?" Sinister Peter repeated the question, looking out the window and down to Gwen. "It's a question that's been racking around in my head...ever since Wong asked me since I decided not to hunt down a way to bring back Gwen." He then held up a hand to the last brisk of sunlight left, but quickly pulled away. "I said to him, of course, I'm happy. I'm S.H.I.E.L.D.'s greatest asset as well as the most powerful sorcerer in the world. What man wouldn't be happy?" He then grew angry as he spun around to face Supreme. "Then I continued my work in this godforsaken haunted house. Sat down. Wondering who did I lie for...I never meant for any of this to happen." He then looked towards a shattered mirror. "I used my version of the Mirror to try and find another universe where I could be happy. Where me and Gwen could be happy... But I never found one. All I found were more versions of us, who were all pushing others away. So I did those versions of us a favor."
Peter Supreme started to get worried about what he has done. "What did you do?"
"You ever had that dream where you're falling as if you've been pushed off a tall building?" Sinister Peter asks him while closing his eyes. "That was probably me."
And that's when he opened his eyes and a sudden third eye appeared in the middle of his forehead. Peter Supreme jumped back a bit as he knew that the eye was a significant impact on the man. It represents the power of the sorcerer Agamotto and his fellow Vishanti, allowing others to see people's true intentions and break magical illusions.
"That's..." Peter Supreme didn't know what to even say to this. "Not okay..."
"The Darkhold exacts a heavy toll." Sinister Peter repeated himself.
Peter Supreme then quickly got his bearings stepped forward as he tried to stay strong, knowing he could see through any lies with that eye. "Okay. All the more reason to give it a rest and let me use it."
"Here's the deal." Sinister Peter stated as he stayed in place, Peter Supreme keeping his eyes on the third eye. "I'll let you use the Darkhold... if you give me your Gwen."
"Yeah..." Peter Supreme definitely wasn't going to leave Gwen here to die. "Trust me, Buddy. She can do much better than the two of us."
"No?" Sinister Peter asked, clicking his tongue. Seems that he expected that to be Peter's answer. "Didn't think so."
Peter Supreme saw he had an opening and quickly shot out a web from his shooter, aiming for the Darkhold. But that was stopped when Sinister Peter sliced the webbing with his nails.
"Okay..." Peter Supreme saw that this was going to be a bit more difficult than he expected.
Sinister Peter then used the webbing to fling Peter Supreme across the room. When he flung and sent sheet paper flying, Peter knew that he couldn't physically fight this man and needed to use his power. He must be at equal strength in power, but it's a matter of dark vs light in their case.
He got to his feet and used one of the quickest spells he could think of, The Hook of Hoggoth. This was a spell that called upon the powers of Hoggoth the Hoary to conjure mystical energy scythe. He flung it towards the evil version of himself, hoping to end this quickly to hurry and save his friends. But he began to quickly conjure the Tao Mandalas as a shield to protect himself.
Sinister Peter then retaliated as he sends the Icy Tendrils of Ikthalon as a relay attack at him. This was a spell that called upon the powers of Ikthalon to conjure extreme cold temperatures, icy winds, and snow. But Peter Supreme was able to block the attack by confusing a transmutation shield, which turned the myst into the fog and stopped it.
Peter Supreme then quickly conjured up another spell and quickly sent The Crystals Of Cyndriarr, a spell he already tried to use on Morlun, towards his doppelgänger. But instead of killing him as he had hoped, it seemed to only cut his clothing and the belt that was holding the Darkhold.
Seeing he now has an opening to go for the book, Peter Supreme used the Sapphire Bands of Storaan to try and grab it again. The Sapphire Bands of Storaan was a spell that conjures blue ribbons of mystical energy to bind an opponent.
But as the spell was cast, Peter should have known it wouldn't have been strong enough to hold back any spell he could cast. Going for a more powerful spell, Sinister Peter used The Rings of Raggadorr. This was a spell that summons a cylinder of perfect magical force that separates into seven powerful circular bands.
They all flew and grabbed onto the book as it became a tug of war between the two Sorcerers to try and get the book. The spell might be weak, but it was strong for the two to try and fight one another to keep it in their possession.
But the spells could only take so much until finally, the two bands snapped, sending both of them flying backward and sending the book falling. Peter Supreme quickly got up and raced over toward the book as it fell. Sinister Peter then quickly sent out one last attempt of a spell, the worst to conjure for a sorcerer.
The Fangs of Farallah, which was a spell to summon the powerful maw of Farallah of the Hunt to kill a specific target. The only problem was he forgot that he was the target.
Sinister Peter realized his mistake just seconds after conjuring the spell and the jaws immediately turned on him. Peter Supreme could only watch in horror as his alternate self was attacked by the jaws. He was flung out the window as Sinister Peter cried in pain and agony.
Gwen was still outside when she heard the screams and watched the window smash open. The Fangs of Farallah vanished mid-fall as Sinister Peter was impaled by the fence outside. Gwen quickly ran over to him, wondering what had happened up there as she saw the deceased sorcerer. But then when she watched his third eye open up at the last second, she jumped back and shrieked at the sight. Never seeing anyone with a third eye like that before.
Back upstairs, Peter Supreme quickly got to work as he scrolled through the pages of the Darkhold as quickly as possible. He didn't want to be possessed by the spirits and wished to get this over with quickly. But he still needed to find a spell that will help him. He had heard rumors of the spells that were within this book. It could give users the power to cross the BRANCHES. Without the Mirror, he wasn't going to be able to transport them there, so he needed to find an alternative way of doing it.
Gwen ran her way up the stairs and looked around. "What happened?"
"Long story. Tell you later." Peter Supreme stated as he found a spell that could help. "Dreamwalking. That's perfect."
"What are you doing?" Gwen asks in sorry.
Peter Supreme started the process of Dreamwalking as he started to look for a host nearby the others. Loomworld was thankful for a destination that could be reached here. "I'm going to Dreamwalk using one of our doppelgängers in that reality so I can transfer my power there to help them."
"Dreamwalk?" Gwen didn't quite understand what that meant.
"I'm gonna possess another version of us in that universe so that I can save them unsigned my powers." Peter Supreme quickly explains and gets ready. Summoning the candles from around the room that Sinister Peter was using for light, he got ready for the incarnation. "I can't transport you there to help, but I still need your help here."
"What do you need me to do?" Gwen wonders what she could do from here.
"While I'm under, I need you to protect my body in case they decide to attack me for trespassing." Peter Supreme explains to her.
"They?" Gwen was only getting more lost. "They who?"
"The Souls of the Dammed." Peter Supreme explains as he quickly waved his hand and lit up the candles, starting the incantation. "I'm coming, guys."
Gwen watched as he starts to make a pose, with his left foot up to his right knee, and both of his hands in the web shoot position above his head. But then a thought occurred to her that made her question the integrity of the plan.
"Wait, if you're going to possess one of our doppelgängers, doesn't that mean one of us needs to live in that universe?" Gwen questions. "Because the only ones we brought there are currently dying."
Peter Supreme opened up his left eye and gave her a smirk. "Who said that they needed to be living?"
Back in Loomworld, the corps of the Star Spangled Spider immediately gasped as life was breathed back into him. Just not in the way that you're probably thinking of. Peter Supreme was using him from across the BRANCHES as if he were a puppet on strings. However, whatever happens to this puppet will also happen to the puppet master.
Thanks to Morlun draining his life, the body of Peter Barton had rotted away quickly as how other corpses would rot. His entire body was already lack of any fluids, making it as if a corpse had literally come to life. There was a gaping hole in his suit as well as his chest where Morlun had impaled him with the Staff. His arms were already rotting away the flesh and showing the bone underneath it. His suit was only mostly torn thanks to the battle he endured against Morlun and the Staff, but nothing that needed to be concerned about.
Then he tried to puppet the corpse so that he could use it in battle. But every movement that Peter Supreme tried to make it do, was like trying to move with still body parts. He couldn't bend his arms quite much, and his walking was sluggish at best.
Hey, it's his first time moving a corpse, give him a break.
But when he started to get the hang of it and made it to the top of a pile of rubble, he was shocked when he saw the rubble separated. Now Morlun and his friends were an entire gap away and there was no chance he was going to make it without the Cloak. Even if he trusted the gravity of this universe to float him there, there was no guarantee he would make it.
But that was apparently the least of his problems when he started to feel something was wrong. He looked down at his fingers and noticed that there was some strange black smoke animating from his body.
Then they started to fly out. Demonic-looking ghosts made out of black smoke with horns on their head came out of his body and started to circle the corpse. These were the Souls of the Dammed
"Peter Parker!" One of the Souls proclaimed as they started to push and shove Peter around, putting him off balance. "Possessing a dead body is forbidden!"
"Forbidden!" Another one of them said in a more ominous voice.
"Trespasser!" Another one cried in a smaller voice.
"Cease your Dreamwalking, or face the eternal consequences!" The main Soul of the Dammed demanded him.
Then he started to be surrounded as tons of souls stared to surround Peter, holding him in place. Starting to consume him and drag him down into a pool of darkness.
"Peter?" Gwen's voice echoed in his mind.
"They're pulling me down..." Peter muffly warned her.
Gwen was now standing over Peter Supreme as he shuttered and couldn't move. She was wondering what was happening as she looked into his eyes, seeing the Souls of the Dammed were running around his head.
"Hang on, Peter," Gwen begged as she took his hand, feeling him shake. "I'm right here with you." He continued to shake and it seemed he couldn't hear her. "You told me you got your power from the Web of Life. That we're all connected to that Web." She then removed his and her gloves, holding hands to try and see if this would work. "You remind me of the Peter that I lost. You need help. But you're too proud to admit it. Let me help you. I couldn't save the Peter of my world, and you couldn't save your Gwen. But maybe..." then she watched as something was happening, watching as their connection was siphoning energy from one another, causing a glow between their hands. "Maybe we can save each other. You're a Master of the Mystic Arts. They're just spirits. Use them. Use my energy, beat them, and use them."
Peter Supreme then opened his eyes and they started to glow golden with the energy of their connection. Gwen kept her hand on his as Peter started to rise and gain powers from her.
"There he is." Gwen was proud to see he was doing it. He was fighting back. "Fight them, Peter. Fight back!"
Peter then blasted enough energy off of Star Spangled Spider's body to push the Souls of the Dammed away. They saw he was too powerful to consume into the darkness and tried to escape him. But before they could go any further that a few inches, he decided to take Gwen's advice and use the Spirits to his advantage.
As they tried to get away from the powerful Sorcerer, Peter Supreme started to use his doppelgängers web shooters and add a bit of mystical connection to keep them contained. Like a cowboy and his cattle, he started to wrangle up the spirits and entrap them with the mystical webs.
When he connected all of the Souls of the Dammed together, he placed them behind him so that he could use them as if they were a cloak. This was exactly what he needs if he was going to make it across that huge gap. But he also knew that Gwen was right, he couldn't fight Morlun alone, and the others were going to be too weak to help.
He was going to need more friends.
Taking off into the air, he started to float off, using the Cloak of the Dammed as a way to guide himself. He was mostly at the mercy of the gravity of this reality to keep him on the right track.
Morlun was listening to the screams of the Spiders he still had, Parker and Allen, already feeling how he had the Mirror energy inside of him. Thanks to that and who he had in his possession, he was able to drain the lives of every Spider-Man and Woman in their universes from where he was. It was a good feast for him. He could feel all of the Spiders dying as he sucked the life out of all of them.
But then they all heard a screech and were wondering what was going on, looking over to the opening to see what was making that noise. All they saw however was a giant fog of smoke where the cackling was coming from. It wasn't until it became closer could he understand who and what it was. Except by the time he finally figured it out, Peter Supreme puppeted himself too close to fight back. When Peter Supreme floated in between Morlun and his friends, he quickly sent out another burst of energy that sent everyone flying away. Cutting Morlun off from his meal and setting the Spiders free.
When they looked up and got their look at the new Sorcerer Supreme's body, they were shocked by what they saw. Supreme used the same motion as he would summoning Images of Ikonn. Except instead of more versions of himself, they were dozens of Souls of the Dammed arms.
"Sorcerer Supreme, sucker!" Peter Allen cheered, laying down to regain his strength.
Morlun marched his way over, limping due to the lack of food. Peter Supreme landed on the ground, all of the Souls of the Dammed hanging behind him like a cloak. He wasn't going to let this monster harm any more people across the universe.
"Thanks for the easy kill," Morlun stated, feeling he has Supreme where he wants him.
Except when he went to feed on his body, it was as if something was stopping him. Peter Supreme knew that his first instinct would be to try and feed on his life force, but he already did. He killed Star Spangled Spider ad drained his life, leaving nothing behind but a rotting corpse. That corpse was only being moved from another Spider who was across the BRANCHES. As of right now, there was nothing that Morlun could do to feast on him from this universe.
Peter Supreme smiled as he saw that his plan had worked. Except in the case of the zombie, his smile looked more demented as half of his skin was missing.
"This time, it's gonna take a lot more than killing me to kill me." Peter Supreme proclaimed, missing the confusion on Gwen's face.
Morlun wasn't going to give up anytime soon however as he tried to leap in and kill him. Knowing that was going to be his next move, Peter Supreme spun around and sent all of the Souls of the Dammed toward the Soul Eater.
All of the souls started to circle Morlun like hungry sharks looking at their next meal. As they continued to screech, it seemed they were starting to judge Morlun for all of his sins.
Even the Dammed has standards it seemed.
"Murderer!" One of the souls proclaimed.
Peter Supreme continued to control the Souls and keep them focused on Morlun. As they kept a close connection to the Soul Eater, they were draining his powers he gained from entering this dimension. This would leave him too weak to finish them off all at once. As he did, he turned to face Parker and Allen, watching them try and stand up.
Getting their first look at what Supreme had to do to save them, they weren't sure what to think of it. They were in another reality, almost killed by a Spider vampire, and now they're looking at the decaying corpse of one of their allies who died being used like a puppet.
"I don't even wanna know," Parker exclaimed.
Peter Supreme just smiled and knew that they had this battle in the bag by now. Except that was ruined when there was a giant blast and all of the Souls were eliminated, followed by Morlun throwing a Hellfire towards Supreme. He was sent flying scores the area and his body started to shake and start decay faster. Gwen felt the pain as she was holding him, allowing her energy to flow through him, meaning they were sharing the pain that he was going through.
"Did you really think that was all it was going to take to kill me?" Morlun asks him in disappointment. "I expected more from you. If you wanted to kill me, you should have brought something stronger."
"I wasn't trying you kill you..." Peter Supreme admitted, watching as part of the corpse was deteriorating faster. "I was just meant to distract you."
And just like that, several strands of webbing came in and wrapped around Morlun. But if Parker and Allen were still unable to fight, who was fighting back?
When he looked around to see who was webbing him, he saw a Spider-Man wearing an all-black version of the Spider-Man suit. When it was yanked, there was more strength in it than most of the Spiders he's fought.
Sending Morlun flying across the rubble, the black suit Spider-Man walked over with a proud look. "It's been a week since I saw them kick your ass..." he then pulled back the mask that seemed to be made of goo and revealed it to be Peter Lane, son of Lois Lane, underneath it. "...now it's my turn."
"What?" Morlun asked in surprise, wondering how he could be here.
"You think I came to fight the evilest force in the universe and not bring backup?" Peter Supreme asked with his grin still there. "I came prepared."
And just like that, a dozen different versions of Spider-Man came out of hiding and came for a hit of their own. Some were similar to one another, some wore completely different costumes, and others were different genders of the other. Whatever made them unique to their universes.
The next to go and get a hit in was Peter Van Dyne, who quickly made his way over whilst he was small. When he made it over, he leaped up Morlun's shoulder before throwing himself at his face. Punching him as hard as he could, it sent Morlun skidding backward. His new suit wasn't as black as the old one they saw him in, rather now it was him wearing a red and black suit with wires underneath the arms and his belt had the Pym Particle attached.
Then a shield came flying in as the son of Captain Carter, the Spider Soldier, came leaping in and knocked him in the face. Morlun flew backward as he tried to get a handle on what was happening to him.
"Yo, incoming!" A female voice cried out.
A Spider-Girl came swinging in as she wrapped herself around Morlun's shoulders. She wore a similar outfit to the original Spider-Man, except she had on a bright pink and blood-red version of it. This version of Spider-Girl was known as Spider-Gesture. The daughter of Harleen Quinzel and Peter Parker.
She quickly spun her legs to throw Morlun away from the group, smacking him across the face with a mallet she carried around. It wasn't lethal as it was a plushie top, it would just knock someone around.
"I'm getting sick of this!" Morlun cried as he tried to get back up.
But just then, he was blasted from behind by repulsers from Peter Parker, a member of the Defenders of the Universe. He wore the Iron Spider armored suit that he and Rocket made over the years.
Then Spider Soldier came back on, throwing his shield to knock Morlun further off balance. Before Morlun could turn around and fight back, Peter Lane extended his hand, and tentacles came swarming from the ooze. The ooze wrapped itself around Morlun to keep him in place.
Wakanda Peter then came in, charging as he revealed that his mutation went far enough to give him talons on his fingers. They were basically lethal nails that could cut through the skin. They were useful in a fight, especially a fight like this one. He went racing in, slicing Morlun from the back forward, moving too fast for him to keep up.
Peter Supreme then gained enough of his strength back so he could get back into the fight. And he wasn't the only one as Parker and Allen got back to their feet. Supreme went in first, quickly sending Bolts of Balthakk to hit Morlun from the front.
Defender of the Universe Peter came flying in and blasted him from behind and tried to keep him disoriented. Morlun though was able to kick some ground to hit the two and send them flying.
But that didn't stop the others as Spider Soldier came charging in and throwing his shield in his face. Bouncing it off his head and sending it back to Peter Carter, he knocked his shield into Morlun's knee. When he was down for a second, Peter Lane came charging in and slid between Morlun's legs and used toe goo to trip him. As he tried to get back to his feet, Panther Peter came charging and sliced at his head with his talons again.
Morlun was starting to get weaker from the lack of food and the constant attacking was making him weaker. He was smacked in the head by the shield yet again. Peter Van Dyne then came and grew as he kneed Morlun in the face.
Morlun then laid down, trying his best to crawl away from the heroes. But all that accomplished was his hand being stepped on. He looked and saw that it was Peter Lane, who retracted his mask with a smile.
"Going somewhere?" Peter Lane asked.
"Without saying goodbye?" Peter Supreme asked as he landed, the Cloak of the Dammed ready to attack. "After everything?"
Morlun chuckled as he laid back down and groaned. "You know...with a benefit of hindsight... I can understand your point of view."
"A little late for that." Peter Van Dyne stated in anger. "You hurt our worlds. You hurt our families. Our friends."
"And you thought that you could just walk away?" Peter Carter asked in anger.
"Okay...then take me away," Morlun said to them. "Lock me up."
Peter Supreme looked to everyone else. He saw that all of them had the same look on their faces, and they all knew what to do. There was no way that they were going to let him go.
"No." Peter Lane stated as he looked back. "V, you're up."
Then they watched as his suit morphed and a gigantic creature merged from the suit. He has a very muscular, black oozing body that resembles the outfit originally. He has white eyes with no pupils, sharp yellow teeth, and a long tongue.
Once he had control of the body, he grabbed Morlun by the neck and lifted him upward so that they were eye to eye. "Fuck this guy!"
And before anyone could react, the creature bit the head off of the man and swallowed it whole. He tossed the rest of the body away and screeched in pride. Then he morphed back into Peter Lane, leaving him to look at the shocked and confused looks on their faces.
"Oh, yeah, I've gained a parasite since last we saw each other." Peter Lane admitted to them.
"Parasite!?" Venom cried in anger, using Peter Lane's body against him as he punched him in the face using his right hand.
"Ow!" Peter Lane cried as he felt the place he had just hit himself. "Okay, we're gonna have a talk when we get home."
"You'll talk, I won't listen." Venom promised.
"A few days ago, that might have seen strange." Peter Parker admitted.
"Yeah." Peter Allen had to agree.
"Well...there's only one thing left to do." Peter Supreme said as he snapped his fingers, creating portals to go back to their worlds. Since he didn't have a connection to the Mirror, he was relying on the Darkhold to rip through the BRANCHES to call them in for help. "I need to let go. I can't hold onto this body any longer. Thank you for your help. I am forever in all of your debts."
"You saved all of our lives." Peter Carter reminded him with a shrug. "Pretty sure this makes us all even."
"Nevertheless. If any of you ever need me, don't be afraid to reach out." Peter Supreme said, finally ending the Dreamwalk.
They all watched as the deceased body of Star Spangled Spider fell and hit the ground. He could finally Rest In Peace knowing that his friends have been avenged and his world was now safe again.
"Did you get his number?" Venom asks Peter Lane.
"Can't say that I did." Peter Lane commented as he strolled to his portal. "Welp. It's been fun. Let's do this again sometime."
"My family might be a bit more protective of me because of this, but...I'll be able to deal with it. I didn't exactly leave with their permission." Panther Peter confessed as he ran into the Wakanda portal.
Peter Allen walked over to his portal and saw it lead straight to STAR Labs. "So...this is it."
"It would be like none of it ever happened." Peter Parker had to admit it was strange, looking at the portal leading to the DEO.
"But we'll always remember that it did." Peter Allen said with a smile, holding his fist out to his doppelgänger.
Peter Parker smiled as he gave him a fist bump and knew they would never forget this. "See you later, Spider-Man."
"Not if I see you first, Spider-Man." Peter Allen stated as he ran and leaped into his universe.
Loomworld was deprived of all of the Spiders who came to help, leaving the world separated from the rest of the realities yet again. Morlun was gone, and the rest of the Inheritors weren't going to be making it out of that universe anytime soon. Some of their doppelgängers might have died for the end result, but the end result saved a thousand trillion lives across the universe.
Peter Supreme gasped awake as he saw he was back in the incursion universe. When he looked over, he saw that Gwen was unconscious and quickly ran over to see if she was okay.
"Hey, Gwen?" Peter Supreme saw she drained a lot of energy out of her. "You okay?"
Gwen mumbled as she woke up and looked around to see that she was still there. "Oh, hey. What...what happened?"
"We beat him." Peter Supreme informed her. "It's over."
"It is?" Gwen asked in surprise.
Peter Supreme then helped her to her feet and smiled. "Yeah."
"So...what happens now?" Gwen asks as she looked out to the vortex. "Where do we go?"
"Well, I was able to contact Wong." Peter Supreme said as he eyed the Darkhold. "Sent him a message to come to get me."
"What about me?" Gwen wonders.
Peter Supreme sighed and knew he couldn't keep this from her anymore. "Gwen, that spell I cast on everyone else before they left their worlds... it helped me open a portal to send them home. But for you...Morlun kept me from finishing the spell. If you go home, it could have been hours, days, weeks, hell years in your universe."
Gwen was shocked to hear that her world might have gone on for years while she was gone for a few hours. "So...what do I do?
Peter Supreme picked up a watch on the ground, summoning the last of the Mirror energy he had left. It wasn't much for him, but he could enchant a relic with it. He then walked over and handed the watch to her.
"This watch will help you travel the BRANCHES. Every universe is at your disposal." Peter Supreme explains to her as he placed it in her hands. "Find a universe where you can be happy."
"What about you?" Gwen asks as she placed the watch on her wrist.
"I'll go home, back to the Sanctum. Keep protecting the Mirror and the BRANCHES." Peter Supreme told her his game plan.
Gwen took the watch and knew he was trying to make things right. She then looked out to the destroyed universe and sighed. "What's your universe like?"
"It's pretty beautiful." Peter Supreme shrugged. "Nothing really special. I wish you could see it."
"I'd like that." Gwen sighed as she looked down at the watch. "But...I gotta find a new home."
Peter Supreme sighed and knew he needed to say something. "I heard what you said back there. And I need you to know...I love you. I love you in every universe, Gwen."
Gwen smiled as she walked over and caressed his cheek. "You do?"
"It's just hard for me to admit, because if I do then I'll admit that I get scared. Scared of losing people I love. I was supposed to be the greatest agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., and I failed at that by showing my pain when you died. And I can't show that I'm scared as Spider Supreme." Peter Supreme explains as Gwen leaned in. "I don't know..."
Gwen finally silenced him with a kiss. He finally gave in and kissed her back. The two stayed like that for a moment. Then Gwen took a few steps back and raised her wrist.
"You need to learn to let someone care for you, instead of making yourself care for the world." Gwen tells him.
Peter Supreme knew she was right and sighed. "I know. I'm working on it."
"Goodbye, Peter," Gwen said as a portal opened for her.
"Goodbye, Gwen." Peter Supreme gave his farewell as she vanished through the portal.
As soon as she vanished and left him alone, a portal formed and Peter saw it was Wong, here to help bring him home. Smiling, Peter walked through the portal and was happy to finally be back in his universe, in the sanctum where he could continue to make a difference.
Peter Parker-Coulson, Sorcerer Supreme strolled through the opening of Karma Taj, Wong by his side as everyone was still teaching. It had been a day since his journey across all of space and time to rescue the BRANCHES from Morlun, and it was like nothing has happened. At least from his perspective. Of course, he finally allowed himself to let go of Gwen, so he could finally focus more on his duty instead of fixating on the past.
"So, are you okay?" Wong suddenly asked Peter.
"What?" Peter didn't quite understand the question.
"You used the Darkhold to Dreamwalk into your own corpse," Wong explains why he was concerned.
Peter realized what he was asking and bobbed his head. "Oh, that. Yeah, I'm perfectly fine." He then looked out to the setting sun and sighed. "I have a question for you though... you happy?"
Wong thought of it as he eyed the setting sun. "That's an interesting question."
"I'm just curious," Peter explained as he looked around. "You'd think saving all of existence would get you there, but... I still feel empty."
"Sometimes, I wonder about my other lives I have out there," Wong confessed as he looked around. "But I still feel grateful for this one. Despite all of its tribulations."
Peter chuckled and rolled his eyes. "You'd be lost without me."
"I'm lost with you," Wong stated with a laugh as he walked off.
Peter chuckled as he then opened a portal to the New York sanctum. This was his life. The burden he needed to bear so that nobody else needed to suffer it. As he walked into the sanctum, he decided to go out and take a stroll around the street for a moment. He just wanted to walk around and give himself some time to think about everything that happened. It's been a while since he just walked around and enjoyed the fresh air of the world.
But that didn't last long as after he walked outside, he took a few steps and reached a crosswalk when he started to get a headache. He tries to shake it off, but the more he does, the harder it becomes to hold on. The pain becomes unbearable as he fell to the ground on his knees, clutching his head.
Then he let out an ear-piercing scream as he looked to the sky, just then suddenly between his eyes, on the top of his forehead, a third eye opened up on him.
Peter Allen returned to his home universe and sighed. He stretched his limbs as he strolled through the hallways of STAR Labs, never feeling he'd be more happy to be here. After traveling to dozens of other worlds, it was good to be back in his home universe knowing everyone was safe.
"Wait, you're saying he vanished?" Peter heard his brother ask in the Cortex.
"Who vanished?" Peter asked as he strolled inside, seeing everyone was exactly the same way as he left them.
"Pete. Where'd you go?" Bobby asked his friend.
"It's a bit of a long story." Peter sighed and knew it'd take some explaining. "But trust me, it's a story you wouldn't believe."
Except before he could get to explaining what happened to him, there was a sudden bright light that appeared in the room. The light came in the form of an ankh symbol, with a figure emerging from it. It was a man, from the looks of it, wearing an all-blue outfit, with golden shoulder pads, golden gloves, an ankh symbol on his chest, and a golden helmet on top of it that covered his whole face. He had a glowing golden cape as he emerged from the symbol.
"Well, my dear, Spider-Man. I would love to hear the tale." The man stated to them as he lowered himself down to the ground.
"Who the hell are you?" Caitlin asks in confusion.
The man then took off the helmet and was revealed to be an elder man underneath it. "They call me Dr. Fate. But you may call me Kent Nelson. And that's what I'm here to discuss."
"What are you here to discuss?" MJ asks in confusion.
"Your fate," Kent explains to them as he placed the helmet under his arm. "Because...I cannot see yours. Any of yours."
They will return in...
