Here is Chapter 9. I know this is a double post, but I have started chapter 10 and wanted to give you guys something in addition to Chapter 8. As usual I do not own Vampire Diaries. There is no review corner as I did just post Chapter 8.
Chapter 9
"Hello, Love," a voice said behind Jessica causing her to turn around to face a blonde haired, blue eyed man standing near her. "You look a little lost."
Jessica frowned for a moment as she registered what the man had said. Something felt familiar about this man, yet Jess could tell that the man in front of her was not human. "How could I possibly look lost to you when I don't know you?" she asked as she shifted her weight to stand taller slightly. Her hazel eyes watched as he vanished from in front of her to standing behind her. She gave a faint inhale as she heard his voice softly in her ear.
"You're new to this city. I can tell, Love. You seem like a young vampire…now tell me. Where are you from?" he asked still behind her. He wasn't going to face her or use compulsion as he wanted to see how'd she react. Mirth danced in his blue eyes. He recognized her and knew she was the vampire that was with his brother when he had tracked him to Richmond. Compared to their encounter a few months prior, he could see she had so much more control than the last time. His brother's scent wasn't as prominent on her meaning his brother had not been around much the last few months. He also smelled a female's vampire's scent on her. It seemed familiar, but he couldn't be totally sure as to why it was familiar.
"Mystic Falls," Jessica whispered softly as she continued studying the buildings and people around them. She noticed that the people out were large in number and didn't even care about anything else in their surroundings. She also noticed the rather tall buildings. The 15 year old immortal didn't know how long she had been running for, but she had a sneaking suspicion that she was no longer in Virginia anymore. "Am I in Ney York?" she asked lightly while turning her head slightly to the right to look at him out of the corner of her eyes. Her hazel eyes seemed to be illuminated by the lights around them.
"That is quite a good guess love…and a correct one. Now, Mystic Falls? I haven't been there in…oh…it seems like 1000 years," he answered gaining a smirk on his face as he saw Jessica's eyes widen in shock. He could see in that moment she figured out exactly who he was. The blonde vampire turned Jessica to face him and studied her before a frown crossed his face. "You ingest vervain don't you? My brother made sure that you couldn't be compelled by myself or even him. Well, that is quite unfortunate."
Jessica narrowed her eyes in suspicion as she tried to digest his words. After a moment, she froze. "No…there's no way. We've met before, haven't we? You compelled me to forget you?! I…I wouldn't be able to take it for a few days if… No absolutely not. That is not an option. Elijah has told me what you do to make sure vampires get the vervain out of their system faster," she snapped pushing him away from her. She swallowed thickly trying to figure out why her body seemed to somehow trust him. "What did you do to me?" she whispered to him.
"I should be asking you that, Love. You were the one who attacked me when we last encountered each other. However, I do have to say that we had a very…interesting moment together. It was becoming very hard to resist what was happening, but I did see you were overwhelmed and underfed.," he explained stepping closer to her again before lightly taking a lock of her hair in his hand lightly. "Let's just say I haven't done something like what happened between us exactly…in a very long time."
"Underfed?" she murmured confused for a moment. "I fed from you?" she exclaimed in shock while feeling her cheeks heat up in embarrassment. "Why would you let me do that? Elijah explained to me that typically on vampires who are…intimate with each other or a sire and their creation or even an adopted sire per say and someone they took under their wing from when they were just turned." Jessica didn't want to admit it, but she suddenly wanted something like what he was saying to happen again between them. The 15 year old immortal just didn't know how Elijah or even her aunt would react. Jess went wide eyed as she cursed loudly realizing what she had done. In the haze of getting Caroline to her house and trying to push everything to the side with the fact she took four lives, she didn't tell Jenna. The brown haired girl quickly pulled out her phone to see many missed calls and texts from an array of people. Almost ten missed calls from Elena and Jenna each while Elijah had simply called her once. Rose didn't call her but texted her instead trying to see if she was okay and safe. Her eyes lingered on the most recent messages which was from her aunt and Rose.
*I know you need space, Jessica. Based on what Elijah and Rose told me, this has to be very hard for you, and you are more than likely already hours away from home based on human standards. I am here to talk if you need anything at all. Please be safe and come home in one piece…like really do come home soon because I cannot understand what Jeremy is explaining about his Xbox.*
Jess snorted at the last statement her aunt wrote before quickly typing out *I will, and thank you, Aunt Jenna.* The young vampire moved to Rose's message and swallowed as she read the short message almost ten times to make sure she wasn't seeing things.
*Don't turn it off.*
*I won't…You know the promise I made Jenna.* Jessica looked back at the Original in front of her and murmured, "Know anywhere I can get something to eat? Preferably not a live person," she asked him slowly watching to see what his reaction would be to her question. The hazel eyed young woman felt the older vampire place a hand on her lower back as he began steering her towards a black SUV.
"I know just the place, Jessie," he said opening the passenger door for her before speeding to the driver's seat.
"Show the way, Niky," she quipped crossing her legs and arms smirking.
"Don't call me that," he hissed lightly.
"Then don't call me Jessie,"
"Touché, Darling," he said after a long moment while chuckling to himself as he drove off towards the outskirts of the city where his home was.
"Can I ask you something?" Jess asked after almost twenty minutes of silence. She bit her lip lightly and looked out of the car window as building after building passed them by. "Why do you dagger your siblings?"
The blonde Original gripped the steering wheel tighter as he stared at the darkening road. "What did my dear older brother tell you?" he growled out.
Jess was silent for a long moment as she looked over at him. "He told me that you dagger your siblings when you throw tantrums and get angry at them for not listening…However, I don't believe that. Elijah showed me…everything that happened to your family over the years. Yes, I mean everything. He sat me down not that long ago when he was visiting and let me see his memories. From what he showed me, I believe you do it to make sure Mikael won't kill them. Kol tends to act out because he has his emotions off. Rebekah seems to trust too easily and open up to the wrong people. Finn wanted to kill himself and endanger the whole species. You, at times, would indulge a little too much. You would let the rage of your locked away werewolf side get the best of you. Elijah was always trying 1) clean up the messes you made and 2) try not to slip into the darkness himself. You hide behind the anger and the killing and the blood, yet you can't even be honest with yourself and your siblings about the real reason why you dagger them.
"You're scared, Klaus. That is understandable. Hell, I would be terrified if I found out I wasn't fully blood related to my siblings. I would be even more terrified if my newfound step father wanted me dead! You can't hide behind your fear. 1000 years of fear has turned into paranoia and trust issues with your whole family. I understand the concept of how you have half of you locked away by the very woman who turned her back on you, but you cannot make that event define your whole being! You cannot keep making more and more and more enemies because one day those enemies will catch up to you and your family. They will target the people you care for even though you keep your feelings and emotions hidden away from the others. You are more than old enough to put on your big boy pants and work to learn from the past your family has to make a better future for them and for yourself. Stop being a fucking coward and grow up-" Jess' eyes widened as she felt her back slammed into the passenger door of the car and her head break the glass as her airway was closed from the tight grip Klaus' right hand had on her. Her hazel eyes met the now dark ones of Klaus as she began clawing at his hand to try and remove it so she could breathe again.
"You understand nothing!" Klaus exclaimed as he got closer to having stopped the car in an alley. His hand tightened more on her throat leaving a now very obvious bruise on her skin. "Seeing the memories and living it are not the same. Do not think you can understand me just by knowing my brother." Klaus lifted her other wrist up staring at the bracelet that had a cursive M crest. "I was going to be nice because it seems Elijah has taken you in and started treating you like family. However, now I don't think that will be the best course of action anymore."
"The truth hurts, Klaus," Jess choked out taking a strained breath between every word. She moved the hand clawing at his hand down to her pocket to pat around and pull out the small knife she kept on her at all times. Jessica brought her hand up and shoved the small blade into his arm forcing hm to release her. Her adrenaline began running wild in her body as she shoved herself out of the window of the SUV not realizing she had hurt herself in the process before Jess vanished to try and run from Klaus. Within seconds, the blonde Original caught up to her and threw her body against the wall of the building making her crash onto her multiple wooden pallets. Jessica's clothes were slowly getting stained with blood as she realized that one of the pallets had a piece that pierced her side. A violent cough escaped her throat as blood began spilling from her lips. The young vampire could feel the piece of wood close to her heart.
She winced as she felt Klaus grab her face and force her to look at him. Her hazel eyes narrowed as she saw a dark smirk on Klaus' lips. "Screw you," she whispered darkly trying to pull the piece of wood out of her body but was struggling to do so as one of her shoulders was dislocated from leaving the SUV. Jessica's face twisted in unbearable pain as she felt Klaus twist the piece slightly in her body. "This is what I am talking about, Klaus. You refuse to listen to anyone who tries to tell you the truth. You refuse to understand logic and reason even though you know deep down that that person was right the whole time. You have to be in control of everything that happens around you and around your siblings."
"I have killed for far less, Darling," Klaus snapped grabbing her face tighter.
"You won't kill me. I can see it in your eyes. You know what I am saying is right. I can tell you are relieved someone finally realized why you act the ay you do. You just don't want to acknowledge the truth behind the words. You just don't want your siblings to know you actually love them and wish to protect them from the monster who wants you dead. You wouldn't dare hurt them anymore than you already have over the last thousand years," Jess bit out softly. She grunted moaning in pain, and Klaus dropped her from the wall as her vision began swimming. She was losing far too much blood for her to stay awake much longer. The 15 year old immortal gave a loud cry of pain as she felt the piece of wood ripped out of her body. Jess looked up slightly seeing Klaus holding the wood and throwing it to the side. She furrowed her brow in confusion as she watched him come to her other side and bit down on her lip muffling her scream as he snapped her shoulder back into place so it wouldn't heal wrong. Jess swallowed thickly her nerves spiking as her body was lifted into his arms. "What-?" she breathed out on the verge of passing out. Jessica shivered as she saw Klaus move his head ever so slightly to expose his neck to her just like he had before.
"Drink," Klaus ordered softly as he carried her to his home so he could have her rest. He winced ever so slightly as he felt the young vampire bite down on his neck and drink from his vein. Elijah wouldn't be happy with him, but to be honest, Elijah was never fully happy with anything Klaus did. He didn't care about Elijah's red door and what dangers lurked behind it. He was okay with risking anything to make sure she survived as his older brother had come to see her as family.
Jessica swallowed thickly before biting down on Klaus' neck just like he had said she had done before. Her eyes fluttered shut as she gave a small sound while drinking. His blood tasted very good, and she was very tempted not to stop drinking from him. After a long moment, Jess pulled away from his neck and shyly hid her face in it so she wouldn't have to look at him while whispering, "Thank you," before giving in and passing out in his arms.
