Here's chapter 6
Chapter 6
The sampan sails quietly through Gongmen Harbor, stopping underneath a stone bridge. Jinjing and the Five leap up and begin scaling the wall. Po tries to and fails a couple of times before joining them on top of a roof overlooking the city streets.
"That must be Shen's palace, on the other side of the city," Tigress said.
"Alright! We'll march into the palace and proclaim: we are the Dragon Warrior, the Crystal Jade (A/N), and the Furious Five, and we are here to bring you to justice!" Po said leaping off the roof. Until Mantis grabbed his foot, stopping him and making him crash back on the roof. Mantis quickly pulls the panda back out of sight.
"Hey! What are you doing? The place is crawling with wolves," Mantis said.
"Um, why am I Crystal Jade?" Jinjing asked the panda.
"I thought that it was a cool nickname," Po replied.
"Oh, okay," she said.
"Hey, isn't that the guy who hammered you in the face?" Crane asked. Po and Jinjing spotted the Boss Wolf smacking the bewildered pig's head as he passed by.
"Yeah, that's him, but I punched him in the face," Jinjing said.
"I do not like that guy. Wait, you did that?" Po asked.
"Yes," Jinjing replied.
"We need to get to the tower without being spotted by those wolves," Tigress said.
"Got it, stealth mode," Po said.
Po, Jinjing, and the Furious Five creep down from the roof. Later, Po attempts to sneak through the streets, stopping to hide behind two thin pillars. He briefly spots Jinjing and the Five stealthily leaping over the rooftops. Po picks up a large plant and tries to use it as camouflage but ends up tripping over the other plant pot. Meanwhile, Jinjing and the Five stopped on one of the rooftops.
"Where's Po?" Tigress asked.
"How can you lose a guy that big?" Mantis asked.
Jinjing looked down at the market street and spotted a dragon costume with panda legs clumsily making his way down the streets. "Uh, guys, he's in the costume," the female red panda said. The Five looked in her direction. Tigress is embarrassed; the others are completely gobsmacked.
In the streets, Po knocked a huge lantern into a fireworks stall; sparkling, fiery chaos erupted in seconds.
"You guys go on ahead, I'll try to meet you guys there," Jinjing said.
"Are you sure?' Viper asked.
"Yes," Jinjing replied. Tigress hugged her adopted cousin and Jinjing hugged her back.
"Alright, be careful," she said.
"I will, you guys be careful too," Jinjing said. The female red panda watches the Five leap down to ground level as Po passes by, looking for them. Jinjing leaped down to the ground and puts on a hat and begins to walk around the village. She spotted a rabbit and walked towards them.
"Hey, excuse me," Jinjing said.
"Oh, hello, what can I do for you?" the rabbit asked.
"I'm here to know more about my father and I'm here with the Dragon Warrior and the Furious Five to bring Lord Shen to justice," Jinjing replied.
"You will need help, young one, and who's your father?"
"My father was Longwei, do you know him?"
"I heard of him, but I don't think that I met him,"
"Do you know where I can find out more about him?"
"You can Masters Ox and Croc in Gongmen Jail at Black Dragon Alley,"
"Really? They're still alive?"
"Yes, you must hurry, young one,"
"Thank you so much,"
"You're welcome,"
Jinjing found a nearby barrel, got inside, and rolled her way to Black Dragon Alley, where two wolves guarding the entrance. She got out of the barrel, took off her hat, and rolled it toward the wolves. They peer down at it.
"Hey, what is that?" one wolf said.
"I don't know, but it's cute," the second wolf said.
Jinjing jumped from the roof and knocked them out and tossed two barrels over their unconscious bodies. The female red panda burst into the doors and take out the guards from the inside.
"Wow, nice work, Jinjing," Po said. She turned to see Po and the Furious Five entering the jail.
"Thanks, Po," she said.
"At the first sight of trouble, I'll give you a signal: Ka-kaw! Kee-kee!" Monkey said.
"You mean like Crane does?" Po asked.
"What?" Jinjing asked with confusion.
"Yeah," Monkey responded to Po's question.
Po and Tigress leap into the cell area. Crane stops Monkey.
"Excuse me, when have I ever made that noise?" he asked.
"Yeah, I don't think that I've heard him make that noise in my life," Jinjing said following her friend and adopted cousin.
They peer into the cells as they search for Ox and Croc.
"Master Ox? Master Croc? Are you here? Hello?" Jinjing asked.
"Master Ox? Master…" Po said.
They spot the sad Master Croc leaning on a cell door in a dark corner in the room. Po runs over to him, excitedly.
"The ferocious Master Croc!" Po said before spotting Master Ox and his happiness doubles. "And Master Storming Ox! I can't believe we're recuing actual legends of kung fu. We're gonna free you from those bonds of injustice, no problem!"
Po begins pulling at the bars from the jail cell. "Gotta be a key around here… no they wouldn't leave a key around here…"
Tigress breaks off the hinges of the door.
"Oh, great, you found it! Alright, let's go! We're coming for you, Shen!" Po said excitedly walks off. But when he turned around, the legendary kung fu masters didn't leave their cell.
"Guys, are we going, or not? Do you wanna meet us there later? I mean, you do want to take back your city, right?" Po asked.
"Of course, we do, but if we stand up to Shen, he will turn the weapon on the city!" Ox said as he and Croc picked up the door. Po and Jinjing are stunned.
"Listen to yourself! You're protecting Gongmen City by not protecting Gongmen City?" Jinjing asked.
Ox and Croc turned to the female red panda.
"Who are you?" Croc asked.
"I'm Jinjing, my mother was Dongmei and my father's Longwei," Jinjing responded.
"We haven't heard from your mother for a very long time, how is she?" Ox asked.
"She's dead," Jinjing responded with a sad look on her face.
"What?" Ox and Croc said.
"You didn't know?"
"No, we didn't know. We're so sorry for your loss," Croc said.
"Thank you,"
"She's right if we all fight together…" Po said stepping forward and move the door slightly- and is shoved back as Ox pushes on the door.
"Then the weapon will kill… everyone!" Ox said.
"Oh, would it? Then we'll use… a sneak attack! We'll get inside and then…" Po said.
"And then you'll be stopped… by the unstoppable weapon!" Croc said.
"Nothing's unstoppable except for me when I'm stopping you from telling me something's unstoppable!" Po said.
Po leaps at the door, but the door swings horizontally, bringing Po inside and Croc outside. Tigress, Jinjing, and Croc looked at each other silently- Croc begins to tap on the door, sheepishly.
"Master Ox, I'm not letting you stay in this cell!" Po said.
"I'd like to see you get me out!" Ox said. He grabbed Croc's tail, yanking him inside while catapulting Po outside with the swinging door. Tigress catches him upside down, coolly turns him the right way up, and spins him around to face the cell. Po points at her with an awed expression. Jinjing stares at Po. Aw. He likes her. She thought.
"You guys see that? It's called being awesome. Come on, whatever happened to being heroes?" Po said.
"The only hero in this town is a dead one," Croc said.
"Like I said, you are not getting us out of this cell!" Ox said.
"Oh, really?" Jinjing asked. Ox and Croc notice that they are outside the cell. The door falls and smashes to bits. Po gets up on his feet and steps out of the cell, triumphant.
"Yes! Ha-ha, woohoo! Alright, let's go!" Po said.
His victory faded when Croc and Ox walked into the opposite cell and shut the door behind them. "I get the top bunk," Croc said.
"It's time to surrender, panda... Kung fu is dead," Ox said. Those words shocked Po and Jinjing to the core. Tigress and the Five are equally stunned.
"What?!" Jinjing asked.
"Y-you… W-woo… kung fu is… de-eead… fine! You stay in your prison of fear, with bars made of hopelessness… and all you get are three square meals a day of… shame!" Po said.
"…With despair for dessert," Croc added.
"We'll take on Shen and prove to all those who are hungry for justice… and honor… that kung fu still lives!" Po said stepping away from the cell.
"Yeah…" the boar prisoner said.
Suddenly, the Boss Wolf bursts in with two wolf soldiers.
Jinjing gasps in horror.
Author's Note: I thought that the nickname was cool. My dad helped me come up with it.
