This is my first time writing any story and I am by no means a professional so forgive me for any errors or if its bad id appreciate feedback and I will eventually have a revised edition so it's a bit better. This starts in a similar setting as the last few chapters of The Last Olympian with some changes as it's a fan fic and im not here to rewrite the same chapters. As for the Characters I will try to make their personalities as accurate as possible but some of my own personality will occasionally slip in because I'm the one writing the story
The Return
Chapter One
"You are not the hero." Rachels voice still ringing in my head as we waited inside the elevator. I don't know why those words shook me up so much. Maybe it's cause it could mean I failed to save Olympus but no matter how hard I tried I couldn't shake the feeling of doubt in my mind.
"What's wrong?" Annabeth asked, bringing me out of my thoughts.
"Nothing, just something Rachel said to me earlier and I cant stop thinking about it." Annabeth's darkened at the mention of Rachel.
"Right. Her." She replied with an angry undertone.
"Annabeth what is your problem with her. Every time her name comes up you get pissy. Why can't you two just get along."
"Oh, my gods Percy you're so clueless. Sometimes I wonder if you even have a brain up there or if it's just seaweed.
"Jee thanks I love being insulted before I'm about to die." Right then the elevator dinged, and the doors opened.
"This is our stop." Annabeth said angrily and stormed off. I sighed and ran after her but she was quicky lost in the crowed.
Camp Half blood and the Hunters had already set up camp. I looked around and saw several people injured and a few in body bags. I saw Thalia through the crowd helping an injured hunter into the med bay. "Thalia!" I yelled trying to get her attention.
Thalia looked up. "Hey Percy." She said. "Glad to see you're still alive."
"You too. How many reported casualties?"
Thalia's face turned grim. "Too many. Forty-six dead injured, twelve dead, and four MIA."
I pursed my lips. "Alright. I need you to gather everyone and discuss battle plans. Annabeth said she saw something in her dreams but didn't give me details."
"Speaking of Annabeth where is she?"
"I'm not sure, we got into an argument in the elevator and she stormed off. Can you go find her; I don't think she's too happy with me."
"On it seaweed brain."
"See you later Pinecone face." I said and Thalia flipped me off behind her back.
While I waited for Thalia and Annabeth to come back, I decided to visit the infirmary and visit some of the campers. My first stop was Travis Stoll who had a large bandage around his side and was being monitored by an Apollo camper I hadn't seen before and I pulled the unknown medic to the side.
"How bad is it?" I asked nervously
"He's not doing great. There's a lot of bleeding but there's no internal bleeding. He got lucky."
"Alright. Every time his condition changes I need to be told immediately. I can't afford to lose another camper."
"Got it boss."
I groaned. "God, you sound like Blackjack."
"What?"
"Nothing. Go finish helping Travis."
"Alright." he said and walked back to the bed.
After I had finished talking to all the campers, I started to round up all the campers who were still able to fight and waited for Annabeth and Thalia to come back.
When they finally arrived, we gathered everyone around Annabeth's shield.
"Alright everyone, according to Annabeth, Kronos plans to destroy the thrones directly.
"We should send defenses down to the first floor." Annabeth interrupted. "We also need to relocate the wounded to a safer location. If Kronos makes it past the first floor, they won't be able to defend themselves."
"I can send some hunters to help move them." Thalia offered.
"Alright we can send some of the Apollo campers to help. Annabeth, Thalia, Grover, I need you guys stick with me in the throne room. Everyone else get too the bottom floor. Any objections?" No response. "Alright everyone get moving now!" The camp councilors started barking orders.
"Jerry, Gracey, Kylie, Yan go help the hunters move the wounded. Everyone else go help the Athena cabin set up traps. Everyone move!" I heard the new Apollo councilor Will Solstice yell.
I waited until everyone had gotten in position before I had Annabeth and Thalia follow me into the throne room to wait for Kronos. "I have a really bad idea." I said.
"That means its something that's going to get us killed isn't?" Annabeth responded.
"Don't worry only me, but I do need you to make sure I don't" I assured her. I ran off to my father's throne and started to climb up it.
"Percy, be careful the gods don't usually take kindly to people sitting on their throne." She warned.
"Yea but I need his attention." I said as I continued climbing up. When I got to the top of the throne my father's voice boomed so loud in my head I felt like my head was going to explode."
"WHO DARES TO SIT ON MY THRONE!" Poseidon's voice rattled in my head. "Oh Percy you have to careful if I hadn't hesitated I could've blasted you to smithereens."
"I know and I'm sorry but I needed to get your attention. Listen I have an idea on how to stop Typhon but I need your help."
"Percy, you know I'm busy defending my kingdom from Oceanus."
"I know but you can rebuild your palace. If Typhon gets to Olympus, you will fade and we'll lose the war."
"Percy, it took centuries to build my palace I can't just leave it."
"If you won't do it for yourself, do it for me then." I argued back. Poseidon looked like he was going to say something else but he slumped over defeated.
"Alright, what do you need me to do?" He asked and I started explaining my plan. When I had finally finished Annabeth yanked me off the throne.
When my head finally cleared I realized how much pain I was really in. "Hope your little talked was worth it you started smoking." She said and I realized how much power my father truly had.
"Yes I convinced him to go fight Typhon now all we need to do is wait for Kronos to show up." I said and Annabeth nodded in approval.
"Well you finally had a decent plan for once in your life seaweed brain." She said with a smile.
….
After waiting for what felt like hours I started to question if Annabeth's correct or if it was another trick from Kronos. After all he had always been two steps ahead of us why shouldn't he now?
Thalia had started pacing and Grover was chewing nervously on an old beer can and I started to wonder if everyone else was thinking the same thing. Annabeth had been staring at her "vision shield" or whatever you wanted to call it after Thalia suggested we check again.
"Maybe he's not coming?" Grover suggested.
"No, he has too. There's no other way he can permanently destroy the gods." Annabeth replied.
After Annabeth had finished her sentence, the doors creaked open and everyone got into defensive positions.
"Hello children." A familiar voice said behind us.
