I do not own Hetalia okay? But this far in, if you don't know that...god help you. Anyway, I want to thank all of you who have faved, reviewed, watched or even just read this story. It really makes me feel good about myself and my work. Anyway, enough of this A/N, on with the fic!
"Be good for your aunt!" Alfred waved to the twins as they hugged his legs.
"Yes, she is taking you out to have fun out of the kindness of her heart." Ivan said. "Be sure to be nice back to her."
"We will." The twins said as Toris and Natalya picked one of them up.
"Do not worry big brother." Natalya told him as she put Nikita in the back seat, with Toris doing the same for Dmitri. "We will take good care of them. Once we drop them back off at your place I am thinking of visiting Katyusha again. It would be before visiting hours are over anyway. Make sure she is doing okay. I was reading up on Post Pardom depression and she can be such a crybaby without wild fluctuations in hormones that childbirth can bring. And with the child being early, even in a way that causes little to no real danger, she will be apt to blame herself."
"And Mr. Alfred, Mr. Ivan, do not worry, I will not let the twins pull one over on me and get tons of sweets." Toris said. "I know many of the tricks they will use."
"And I will get them the apples instead of the fries for the Happy Meal." Natalya said as the twins pouted.
"Daddy..." Nikita pleaded.
"Papa..." Dmitri said, eyes growing wide.
"Nyet little ones, the french fries are bad for you." Ivan said.
"But Daddy eats them all the time." Nikita pointed out.
"And they are made from potatoes, a vegetable." Dmitri said.
God, that kid could be a lawyer...Alfred thought as he felt Ivan's eyes on him. "Your Papa is right, while they are made from vegetables, they are not very good for you and will make it harder for you to play. And well your papa has been telling me the same thing and I am bad for not following it more."
"See, your dad knows he's being bad with that." Ivan smiled in his way that was pleasant on the surface but serious. "But the apples have little bits of caramel with them if that will help."
"Okay!" The twins said as Natalya shut the door behind her and waved to her brother. "See you later Papa and Daddy!"
"Have fun! Be safe!" Ivan said as he waved the children off, wanting to make sure they were off before he and Alfred got into their car.
"Yeah kids! I want to hear all about your adventures." Alfred said giving the thumbs up to the twins. Natalya had then backed out of the parking spot and headed back to the main road, driving out of sight."So..." Alfred began as he and Ivan waved to Natalya and Toris and the twins one last time. "How will you punish me for being so bad and not following what you told me..."
"We will have to see about that..." Ivan smirked knowing what Alfred was talking about. It had been a very long time since they were the only ones in the house and could do whatever they wanted wherever. Sure Toris and Natalya would be wanting to stay and would settle for the living room's sleeper sofa but until then, it would be as if they were first married again. "And you won't need to worry about ending up like Katyusha."
As they drove off, Toris turned to the back seat to look at the twins, who looked really happy. "So, your aunt has told me so much about you. I remember your favorite food is chicken nuggets yes?"
"Yeah!" The twins said at the same time.
"Well that is what we will get for lunch then play some mini golf. There's also a little arcade so we can play a few games. It may not be Pizza Party Planet but we can have a lot of fun there." Toris smiled as he looked back to Natalya. "What do you think?"
"Sounds like fun." Natalya smiled as they headed to McDonald's for lunch.
Meanwhile, Francis and Arthur stood in the hospital room taking turns looking at Charlotte cooing over her. Now that it was just them with their newborn granddaughter, both could dote on the child without worrying about upsetting the twins Arthur had explained that to Francis on their way up to the hospital that the twins were still very young and may be prone to thinking that they have been replaced when they see the baby. He also thought that because they were aware of what adoption was and that they were indeed adopted might make this stronger. However when Alfred and Ivan told them that the they were heading home and the twins spending the afternoon with Natalya and Toris, they felt easier to express the full doting they had wanted to do ever since they had found out Katyusha was pregnant.
"Oh mon cher," Francis said looking at the baby as Katyusha held her close. "She looks so much like Mathieu, no?"
"She is just born." Arthur sighed. "It will be very hard to be for certain which traits she had gotten from who just yet." He rolled his eyes but then looked back at Charlotte. "But no matter who she takes more after she is quite the little darling."
"THank you." Katyusha smiled. "How was Matvey as a child? I know you didn't adopt him and Fredka when they were born but they were still pretty young, younger than Dmitri and Nikita are."
"Oh," Arthur jumped up. "Why do you ask?"
"I had heard from some people that their children were tempered like they were as a child. My maty often said I cried more than any baby should but at the same time, she was not one of the best examples I could think of for motherhood...I often think of my babusya if I want a good motherhood example. Best thing my mother had done was talked our great uncle into taking us in when we were children..." She growled.
"I see what you mean..." Arthur noted. "Well the boys were about 18 months old when we adopted them so we did have some of the classic young child troubles like potty training."
"Oh that..." Francis sighed. "I had to do so much laundry when Alfred was little," at this Matthew giggled. "I am so glad he is out of the room as he denies it horribly so to this day."
"No need to embarrass the poor man in front of his children." Katyusha said as she held Charlotte up to burp her.
"I guess not." Francis sighed. "But to answer your question, Mathieu was quiet. Often Alfred would be the one to tell us what he wanted. Most of the time Alfred was honest. There were times he wasn't." Francis tapped his finger to his chin trying to remember more. "Oh and with toilet training, he was a quick learner."
"Remember the time when we told the boys they had better not come back inside from playing with wet pants?" Arthur added, memories of their now adult sons' childhood flooding back.
"Oui." Francis laughed. "Mathieu had come back in fine like he was supposed to, Alfred just went behind the tree. We could not really punish him, as he had followed our rule..."
"That man has been like how he is his whole life..." Arthur growled. "But no matter what they say, the old wives's tales, the mommy bloggers, there are only two people who can do a good job by Charlotte and I am looking at them right now." Arthur said as he looked at Matthew and Katyusha. "What worked for Francis and I with him and Alfred, may not work for Charlotte. Only you two will be able to figure out what she needs and what would work best for her. And let no one judge you or tell you otherwise."
"Thank you so much for your faith." Katyusha said tearing up.
"I know you are scared, but you will be a wonderful mother." Francis said. "No need to be scared"
"Yes." Arthur nodded. "I trust you two will be excellent parents."
"That means a lot Dad, Papa..." Matthew said. He then turned to Katyusha. "Can I hold my daughter?"
"Of course." Katyusha said as she handed Charlotte to Matthew. "Make sure you support her head.
Matthew took Charlotte and looked down. This was her, his little girl, the one he and Katyusha had made. She opened her eyes and looked up at him and reached her arms out to his face. Oh my god...He thought as she ran her fingers on his glasses. He could feel his wife and fathers' eyes on him as he looked at her, and the weight of it all hit him. This was the embodiment of his and Katyusha's love and his whole world. Even up until her birth it had felt surreal. But now, here she was. "I love you Charlotte...you're probably thinking 'who are you'?" He smiled. "Well I'm your daddy." At this she blinked and looked up at him curiously. "I know your mommy will think I'm nuts but you look so much like her. It's adorable."
"Sorry to interrupt this happy family but we need to do a checkup on mamma and baby so the only person who can stay is Mr. Williams." A nurse said as she headed in the room.
"Oh sorry." Arthur apologized.
"If you need a place to stay, we have a spare room." Matthew offered. "As long as you're fine with it Katy."
"Just no wild antics you two." She said with a playful smiled but a stern shudder went through Matthew, Francis and Arthur's spines. God that reminds me of when Ivan has his playful warning or whatever Al calls it. Must be in the blood...
"Do not fret." Francis said. "We will take the utmost care of your house."
"You better." She said with that same smile.
"Au revior!" Francis waved as Arthur pushed him out.
Meanwhile, after getting a change of pants for Nikita after she had 'an accident' on the slide at the McDonald's playplace, Natalya and Toris were at the local mini golf course, getting ready to start the game. Toris had really taken to looking after the twins, something that Natalya had to admit she found admirable and attractive in. Children were the last thing she had planned in her life at this point, especially when she would be working and trying to get a further degree, plans on what were shooken up when Toris had made a few calls and contacts with the university that had put him in a MCAT testing date a few days after their last final and the day before graduation, but he was determined to get the medical degree to become an oncologist. But at this moment, they were in charge of Nikita and Dmitri.
"You're not mad at me for having an accident Aunt Nattie?" Nikita asked Natalya
"Of course not, we will just take your old pants home for your dad and papa to wash. Everything is fine." Natalya smiled.
"Can we play skee ball?" Dmitri said as he looked over to the arcade.
"Or that one with the circle? I love the pink side and I can get pretty good!" Nikita said, memory of her accident forgotten instantly at seeing the game.
"We have to be home by 4, so we will see how long it takes to play." Toris said as he approached the counter. "Two students and two children." He told the clerk.
"How old are you and your wife's kids there?" The older woman asked in a friendly manner.
"Oh we're not married!" Toris quickly said growing red in the face. "I mean it's serious but yeah..."
"I should hope you're serious about the mother of your children!" The clerk said getting rather stern. "I took a mini golf club to a young man who was not when he knocked up my daughter!"
"These are my brother's children!" Natalya smiled coming to Toris's rescue as the clerk was tapping the golf club in her hand menacingly. "I'm their aunt and this is my boyfriend. Yes, we are serious and talking about the future, but as of right now, just the aunt and her boyfriend taking the niece and nephew out for fun. They are 3 years old."
"Oh, well that's sweet of you two to do so." The clerk said, becoming jovial once again. "But where they are 3 they will need a plastic putter. They can still pick whatever color ball they want."
"Pink!" Nikita jumped trying to grab the ball.
"Green!" Dmitri said himself.
"Here you two go" The clerk said, handing the twins the balls and putters and Toris paid for the games. With him taking a yellow ball and Natalya a blue, they headed to the course to begin playing.
"Okay, so this looks like fun. Boys versus girls, whoever gets the best score will get to pick the game we play first in the arcade after." Toris said. "What say you Natalya?"
"I say you're on!" Nikita said as she ran up to him.
"I guess I have no choice but to agree." Natalya laughed.
They went through the course playing hole by hole, not enforcing the rules about no touching the ball with the twins as they were still small enough to have the plastic putters and the scores were to be determined by who played better between the adults. Natalya had also focused on making sure that Nikita knew the tricks of holding the club right and to have good technique for when she played in future sports. She had been told by both Ivan and Alfred that Nikita had loved playing all kinds of sports but particularly baseball but after Natalya had told her about how tough ballet could be, she was starting to get interested in that. But Toris had to prove himself to her and it was already being joked about them having children eventually, so best act like a dad and wanted Dmitri to have something to say he was better than his sister at. Sure they were only 3 but he was worried about sibling rivalry coming up in between them. While he could clearly tell Dmitri knew more about dinosaurs than any three year old normally would, he did seem to feel bad that his sister was better at sports than he was since Toris was on his team as they had decided and his score would be the one that determines who wins, he wanted to do well. But honestly when it came to who was better at many sports, Toris had the same problem with Natalya that Dmitri had with Nikita. But with a lucky shot, he had a slightly better score, winning and causing them to play skee ball with the rest of the time they had.
"You stink Mr. Toris..." Nikita pouted.
"Now now, he and Dmitri won fair and square." Natalya corrected. "Part of being good at sports is accepting defeat gracefully. Take this and learn how to do better."
"Mr. Allen said something like that too." Nikita said kicking her feet. "But that's no fun."
"No one said it was." Natalya replied. "Who is Mr. Allen?"
"Oh he's my tee ball coach and plays on the same team as Daddy." Nikita said. "Daddy doesn't like him that much and he calls Daddy 'porkchop' a lot."
"Porkchop?" Toris asked as he handed Dmitri a token and he put it in the skeeball machine who rolled the ball, causing it to come back. Toris then took Dmitri's hand and helped him to roll it up the game and into the 20 point circle.
"I will have to remember that." Natalya laughed.
"Daddy doesn't like it." Nikita pointed out.
"Well we will see what we can do to get tickets before we have to leave. Your papa and daddy want us home by four." Natalya said.
Meanwhile, Alfred looked up at the ceiling of his and Ivan's bedroom, covered in sweat and panting. "Wow. That was just..."
"Perfect." Ivan smiled kissing his husband on the forehead, taking satisfaction in the fact he could reduce Alfred to such a state. Always made him feel powerful and he always loved knocking Alfred down a peg when it came to things like that. "And I love hearing you scream for me and not having to worry about telling you to keep it down." Ivan teased causing Alfred to roll his eyes. "Ya lyublyu tebya moy podsolnukh" Ivan smiled.
"Love ya too big guy." Alfred smiled as he reached up and ran his hands through Ivan's platinum blonde hair. He then grabbed Ivan and pulled him back down, closer to his level and kissed him, sticking his tongue in his mouth, kiss desperate and needy.
"Seems I have not fully satisfied you yet." Ivan teased as he put his legs on either side of Alfred. "I still have much work to do."
"That you do." Alfred said. "You know how I get when you start speaking Russian like that. Don't leave me hanging, fuck me again."
"Verno. Vy pozvolite mne delat' s vami vse, chto ya zakhochu, kogda ya budu govorit' na moyem rodnom yazyke. YA imeyu tebya tak, kak khochu." Ivan replied, knowing how his Russian made Alfred turn into putty in his arms and held him close, nibbling at his ear.
"God yes..." Alfred said, feeling his heart race again.
"Kogda ya zakonchu, ty ne smozhesh' sest' v techeniye nedeli. Ty moya, chtoby delat' vse, chto ya khochu." Ivan repeated, knowing Alfred could only understand about half of it.
"Stop talking start fucking!" Alfred moaned.
"Ne volnuysya ob etom, dorogaya, ya nameren sil'no trakhnut' tebya" Ivan whispered as the door was heard to open, causing Alfred to jump up and hold onto Ivan.
"What was that?" Alfred said, listening carefully in case it was a burglar.
"What's wrong?" Ivan said as he looked up over at the clock and saw it was a few minutes after four. "Der'mo! My poteryali schet vremeni!"
"What do you mean?" Alfred said picking up on the Russian profanity. "Fuck me up the ass!"
"I thought I just did." Ivan smirked.
"Not like that." Alfred said as he headed into the bathroom and quickly doused himself in cold water, Ivan following suit. "That's probably Natalya, Toris and the kids!"
"The only downside to children..." Ivan sighed.
"Hey, the upsides are way worth it dude." Alfred said kissing Ivan on the cheek as he quickly dried himself off and picked up some clothes from the floor and headed out to meet them.
"You have my shirt!" Ivan quickly said as Alfred looked down, noticed this and swapped it out for one of his own.
"I'll meet them, you finish getting dressed." Alfred said. Ivan nodded as Alfred headed into the living room where Natalya and Toris were with the twins. "We'll have to take a raincheck on round two there..."
"Mr. Alfred, Mr. Ivan..." Toris said as Alfred quickly ran into the living room wearing a pair of basketball shorts, mismatched socks and a tshirt that was inside out.
"Have fun you guys?" Alfred said.
"Looks like you did." Toris started to giggle at Alfred's outfit causing Natalya to scoff.
"Yeah I guess we did..." Alfred blushed. "And Nattie, you try keeping track of time when you are doing what Vanya and I were..."
"What were you doing Daddy?" Dmitri asked. "It must have been in the bathtub as you're all wet."
Alfred grew redder. Just how in the hell did Dad and Papa handle this with Mattie and I? "Well you see your papa and I were..."
"Doing our taxes!" Ivan said as he came out, a little more put together but Natalya and Toris could tell it was still rather hastily dressed. "Boring grown up stuff. You children would not be interested. None of you" He added looking at Toris, causing Natalya to roll her eyes, knowing what her brother was implying.
"In the bathtub?" Dmitri asked.
"Sometimes you have to know your liquid assets... so yeah in the bathtub." Alfred said growing redder.
"Nice save..." Ivan said.
"Yes because that's what liquid assets are..." Natalya whispered to Alfred in a menacing tone. "I am studying business after all but that would pass to young children..."
"But you don't want to know about grown up problems." Ivan said. "Did you two have fun?" He said picking up the twins.
"I won a lizard at skeeball" Dmitri said holding up a plastic green and yellow lizard.
"And I got a baseball keychain!" Nikita smiled.
"Well this has been certainly fun." Toris said, taking the conversation to something more family friendly. "I will make everyone dinner."
"Sounds good." Natalya said. She then handed Alfred a plastic grocery bag carelessly.
"What the he-" Alfred began
"Nikita had an accident. We got her some clean pants but these need washing." Natalya said. "I will join Toris in the kitchen. Do not make her feel bad for it Porkchop."
"Porkchop?" Alfred asked holding the dirty laundry watching Natalya walk away.
