I do not own Hetalia okay? I love all of you who have stuck with this story so far as long as it is in. I have an idea of where to wrap this up and where to start the sequel as there's lots of fun to have with this family. I'll try to update more often but way things are at work…. maybe once summer kicks in…. But hey time will come here on its own. Anyway enough of this A/N, on with the fic!

"What time is it?" Alfred asked as he tapped on the armrest of the passenger door anxiously.

"It is now 3:47 pm. Only two minutes have passed since you asked me last." Ivan sighed.

"God, I know, feels like two hours…." Alfred moaned. "I miss them so much." He pouted. "You sure that homeschooling them isn't an option?"

Ivan rolled his eyes. This was something Alfred and he had kept coming back to. It was tempting. After all, he and Alfred worked from home. It wasn't unreasonable to teach them what they needed for school during the day. But then Ivan wondered about their social interactions with other children. He had wanted them to go out and make friends. To be with kids their own age. It was something he had trouble with himself, and he thought that with their personalities, that Nikita would make friends easily, and would be there for Dimitri as he seemed like he would have a hard time himself. "We discussed this." Ivan reminded him.

"I know…. I know…." Alfred sighed. "I just didn't think it would be this soon…."

"What? It's not like they moved away already. They are just at school during the day." Ivan laughed as Alfred looked at him crossly. "It's rather painful for me too. But it's just a new beginning with them and we are there to make sure they do their homework and get the best grades they can."

"It's Pre-K Vanya. I doubt they will be getting much if any 'homework' or graded stuff." Alfred said.

"I know…. I know," Ivan said. "You just understand what I am trying to say?"

"I guess…." Alfred said.

"Good." Ivan said kissing Alfred on the cheek. "It's closer to 4 now. I think it would not be too unseemly if we headed to the doors and waited with some of those other parents."

"Good." Alfred said as he headed out of the car and stood right in front and center of the door so the kids would see him. As the school bell rang, Ivan joined him and placed his hands on Alfred's shoulders in an effort to calm him down. He could tell that he was excited and anxious to see the twins again and if there was one thing that Alfred often did, it was wear his heart on his sleeve. So after just the first day of sending the children to school, Ivan wondered what it would be like when they got older, or even graduated. He's going to be a sobbing middle aged man when the twins graduate high school. Ivan thought with a slight smile at the image of the twins receiving their diplomas, and Alfred sobbing then yelling 'That's my boy! That'd a girl Niki! You'll blow all the other girls away in the Ivy League Baseball Teams! Why am I imagining Nikita heading to an Ivy League school? Not like I don't doubt her talents, but I can imagine they'd be too stuffy for her linking…. Alas, that is still a long way off…. Ivan smiled as Alfred finally calmed down and held onto his hand. "Here they come." Alfred said as a bunch of kids ran to their parents as Nikita and Dimitri pulled their teacher's hands and headed towards their dads. "Are they in trouble on their first day?" Alfred asked as Ivan shrugged.

"Daddy! Papa!" Nikita and Dimitri said simultaneously as Nikita hugged Alfred's legs and Dimitri Ivan's. "We missed you!"

"These two are so full of energy." A young, short, dark-skinned woman with long dark down hair pulled back with two bows said looking at Ivan and Alfred with a smile on her face. "I assume you are the twin's parents they told me so much about."

"We are." Ivan said. "I do hope they did not cause much trouble."

"Yeah…." Alfred gulped, memories of the many times teachers had to speak to his parents coming back to his mind. Is this what Dad meant by when you have kids you will feel the pain you caused your parents? I swear he said it almost as if he was cursing me with it! "I can't imagine my two would be awful."

"No, quite the opposite. They were a delight." The teacher said with a slight, what sounded like French but not quite accent. "I am their teacher Miss Michelle. I go by that because my last name is just too much for young children to pronounce. Believe me I tried."

"Are you from France or like some Caribbean Island or something?" Alfred asked. "Not meaning to prod but your accent kind of reminds me of my Papa and aunt's."

"Oh I am from Seychelles." Miss Michelle smiled.

"Uhhhhhh…." Alfred began as he was no good with world geography. He could find his way from any state to another in the US and even was okay with some of Canada because of Matthew's influence but anything beyond that he was lost.

"I know where that is." Nikita said.

"Yes! Miss Michelle showed us where it was when we asked." Dimitri replied. "Do you want to know Daddy?"

"Sure kiddos."

"It's off the coast of Africa!" Nikita said.

"In what is called the Indian Ocean." Dimitri added.

"Well now I know school's doing you two real good. You taught your old man something today." Alfred said.

"You genuinely did not know that, did you Fredka?" Ivan teased so that only he could hear

"No, if you must know…." Alfred groaned back.

"Well I wanted to tell you that these two were the delight of my day." She looked at Alfred curiously. "Are you related to that new news anchor, Matthew Williams?"

"Yes…." Alfred moaned. The confusion of Matthew and him was getting old fast in his mind. "He's my twin brother…."

"Oh! I knew you looked an awful lot like him, just with a few things different." Miss Michelle smiled.

"Well, most people just think I am Matthew…" Alfred blushed.

"I do hope they didn't stay with you too much and not interact with the other children?" Ivan asked.

"Oh no, they got along with the other children pretty well." Miss Michelle said. "Although I think a rivalry between Winnie Dundridge and Nikita may be in the works, they kept trying to outclimb each other on the jungle gym at recess, and tying each time." She said pointing to a girl in a white shirt, tan skirt, and pink jacket, carrying a Bluey lunchbox who was running up to a tall man with brown hair and a band aid on his nose. "That's her father Kyle there. He runs the local animal safari."

"What about Dimitri Miss Michelle?" Ivan asked, concerned that he was more introverted than his sister and seeing a lot of his childhood self in the young boy.

"Oh he made a good friend in a boy named Davie." She assured him. "I know you two must be worried, having just adopted these two delights but you need not worry. They are doing well. It is only their first day of a long school career you two. How will you react when you are sending them to high school or college at this rate?"

"Daddy and Papa are blushing!" Nikita pointed out to Dimitri who was giggling.

"I will remind you since you are here, and I have sent a paper home with all the kids, we are having a Parent's night next Tuesday and tomorrow these two have to bring in one of their favorite toys to share with the class for show and tell. Make sure they don't forget."

"We won't Miss Michelle" The twins said together.

"They have a gift." Alfred laughed. "According to my parents, it's a twin thing."

"They said you and Matthew did that a lot as children?" Miss Michelle asked as Alfred nodded.

"Well thank you so much for being so kind to the children and teaching them and letting us know how they did. We did promise ice cream if they did well on their first day, and you proved they did." Ivan smiled.

"THANK YOU PAPA!" Dimitri said hugging Ivan's legs tighter and Nikita ran over and hugged his legs as well.

"Children love ice cream Alfred, so do not take it personally." Miss Michelle said.

"I won't." Alfred sighed.

"Au revoir." She said as she headed back to the class. "I must finish a few things before I can go home. Thank you so much for speaking with me."

"Thanks for taking good care of them." Alfred replied.

"It was my pleasure. See you tomorrow!" Miss Michelle said as she headed back into the school.

"See you tomorrow Miss Michelle!" the twins waved as Ivan and Alfred put them in the car and headed to the ice cream parlor.

"See you two later!" She waved back, hearing them "Remember your show and tell toy!" With this, Ivan honked and waved at Miss Michelle and turned onto the road to head to the twin's favorite ice cream shop that took the flavor of your choosing, the mix ins and sauces you wanted and mixed it together in front of you. It was always interesting what the twins and Alfred would pick from the many choices that were available. Ivan held the door as Alfred ran after the twins who were standing at the counter, backpacks still on looking at the many flavors.

"Why hello there. What would you like?" The clerk smiled.

"I want the pink one!" Nikita said.

"Well looks like Nikita goes first." Alfred said. "But you won't get to eat any until we all have had a chance to order."

"Okay." Nikita sighed.

"So a kid's strawberry?" The clerk asked as Alfred and Ivan nodded. "And what three mix ins little lady?"

"Oooohhh… gummi bears, rainbow sprinkles and coconut!" She said.

"Okay and Dimitri?" Alfred said as he took him from Ivan's shoulder.

"Okay I want chocolate with caramel and gummi bears and brownie bites." He said as the clerk got to work on the kid's ice cream.

"And a large Cheesecake Fantasy for us to split." Ivan said as he kissed Alfred on the cheek. "Got to make sure you get some fruit somehow." He teased Alfred.

"Ewwwwwwww…." Dimitri said.

"Daddy and Papa kissing." Nikita said sticking her tongue out and turning her attention to the clerk who was now making Dimitri's choice of ice cream.

"You will find someone you want to kiss one day too." Ivan teased.

"No way!" Dimitri said. "Kissing is gross!"

"I said the same thing as a kid too" Alfred teased. "You'll change your mind as you get older.

"NEVER!" Nikita swore. With this Ivan and Alfred exchanged a glance as Ivan paid and Alfred took the tray over to an empty table and set it down and was soon joined by Ivan, Nikita and Dimitri who took their ice cream and waited for Ivan to nod it was okay before greedily digging into the cold creamy concoctions. Alfred took a spoonful and smiled.

"See, I told you you would like it." Ivan replied as he took a spoonful himself. "But your dad's right malen'kiye, one day you will find someone you care about deeply that you will want to kiss them. But that won't be for a long time anyway." Ivan teased as he wiped Nikita's face. "How was your first day of school?"

"Awesome!" Nikita said. "We learned lots. And recess was really really fun. I swung higher than anyone else. And I don't know what Winnie is thinking but when it came to art time, I did the better picture than her."

"I think Winnie was good…." Dimitri said.

"You like Winnie…." Nikita teased.

"Nikita…." Ivan said in a warning tone. "Do not make fun."

"Sorry Papa…."

"What about you Dimitri?" Alfred asked as he made sure to get a big strawberry that was in the ice cream. "Miss Michelle told us about a friend named Davie?"

"Yeah." Dimitri smiled. "He knows a lot about plants and plant eaters, and we found some of these purple flowers in the school yard." Dimitri dug in his backpack and pulled out a bunch of flowers and placed them on the table. "They're really pretty and cool."

"I know a trick to make them last." Alfred said. "We can press them, and they will last a very very long time. Want me to show you how?"

"Where did you learn flower pressing?" Ivan asked.

"Dad and Kiku." Alfred replied. "I think it would be a good memento for the twin's first day of school, don't you?"

"Yes, it would." Ivan said. "Nikita, please be a little more careful with where you put your spoon. I swear you are wearing half your ice cream." He said as he handed her a napkin, and she wiped her face. "And you will find your show and tell toy when we get home. Do you have any ideas?"

"I want to show and tell my baseball player barbie that Mr. Allen got me!" Nikita smiled. "I still have her hat, lost a shoe but she still has her bat and ball!"

"That's nice." Alfred said. He had hated just how much Nikita had idolized two people who got on his nerves. Natalya and Allen. He already put up with both of them because of his social obligations. It would be immature and stupid of him to quit the team he loved because Allen was a jerk who liked veggie dogs for some unholy reason and kept calling him 'Porkchop' and well Natalya was his sister-in-law. Ivan's little sister who he cared deeply for. He had married Ivan for better or for worse, which included insane in laws. However since he and Ivan adopted the twins, both of them had acted a little better to him, knowing that Nikita loved them and Alfred and she would let people know when she did not like when someone was 'being mean to her daddy' as she would say it and aggressively enforce as she had taken her wiffle bat to one of Alfred's teammates' shins who laughed at him when he had gotten a strike out. Alfred and Allen had to order her to the corner, and she would not be first at bat at tee ball for her aggression, later she was thanked for her dedication but was told that hitting people with her bat was not allowed. Alfred then looked at Dimitri

"Oh grand-tante Lucille gave me a stegosaurus from Jurassic World. I like it a lot." Dimitri said. "I think I will take that in."

"Sounds lovely." Ivan said as he noticed the twins greedily scraping their bowls.

"Can I try yours?" Nikita asked looking at what was left of Dimitri's. "I'll let you try mine."

"Okay." Dimitri said as the twins swapped.

"Chocolate and gummy bears?" Nikita asked.

"Strawberry and coconut?" Dimitri asked as they pushed the other's ice cream back.

"It's funny." Alfred whispered. "It was the chocolate and the gummy bear that got Nikita, not the caramel and the gummy bear."

"And the strawberry and coconut not the strawberry and the gummy bear…." Ivan sighed. "They are so adorable like this."

"I wish they'd never grow up sometimes…." Alfred sighed.

"Well in our memories they will stay like this forever. As will all the other pleasant memories we will form." Ivan said as he kissed Alfred on top of the head. "Speaking of pleasant memories, two little twins have a birthday soon."

"YEAY!" Nikita and Dimitri said.

"And what do you want to do for your birthday?" Alfred asked.

"PIZZA PARTY PLANET!" The twins yelled.

"Can I invite Davie?" Dimitri asked.

"And I Winnie?" Nikita added.

"I thought you didn't like Winnie?" Alfred asked curiously.

"I do like her. She just doesn't draw bunnies as good as I do is all." Nikita added with a huff.

"We'll have to talk to their parents, but I am sure they wouldn't mind." Ivan said.

"Can Aunt Natalya and Uncle Toris come too, and Miss Michelle?" Dimitri said.

"And Mr. Allen?" Nikita added.

"And grandpa and grand pear?" Dimitri said.

"Sure, why not?" Alfred laughed. "The more the merrier."

"What about your Aunt Katyusha and Uncle Matvey and Cousin Charlotte?" Ivan asked.

"Sure." The twins agreed. At this, they looked up and saw the display offering birthday cakes for children. They ran over and looked at one of the designs. "OOOOOOOOOHHHHH" they said looking at a pirate themed cake.

"Can we have this one?" Nikita asked pointing to a pirate theme.

"Sure." Alfred said.

"You can order them online when you know how many will attend. They are ice cream cakes a lot like our sundaes." The clerk said. "We only need 48 hours' notice."

"Thank you." Alfred said as he picked the twins up and headed out. "We'll see who all can come then you can help us place the order. I am sure your grandpa would love that pirate cake. Might even get him one come April." Alfred smiled at his idea. "Walk right into Grandpa's office with a pirate ice cream cake. Might give him a heart attack at the surprise." He then laughed at the image of Arthur wearing a party hat, grumpy at the reminder that he was getting older, surrounded by Alfred, Ivan, Matthew and Francis and the twins throwing confetti all over the office he normally prided himself on keeping clean.

"While that is a fun idea," Ivan agreed as he helped to settle Dimitri into his booster seat while Alfred did the same to Nikita, "I will admit that I love to surprise your dad as he can be quite interesting when done so, doesn't your papa prefer to make the cake?"

"I'll say it's the kid's idea." Alfred said.

"But it wasn't, well not entirely." Ivan said.

"Well, I didn't say whose kids exactly…." Alfred said as Ivan rolled his eyes.

"You are quite a father figure….and you can relate to the children better than most…." Ivan sighed.

"Yep." Alfred said as the realization hit him. "Was that supposed to be an insult?"

"You decide." Ivan teased back.

"It's not nice to insult people Papa." Dimitri scolded.

"And I thought you loved Daddy. People in love don't insult each other…." Nikita added.

"You are right little ones." Ivan said with an overly exaggerated pout. "I am sorry."

"Ooooooooh the twins got you in trouble Papa…." Alfred added.

"It's not nice to tease Papa for getting in trouble Daddy…." Nikita said.

"See?" Ivan smirked as they arrived home. "We have some smart kids."

"That we do." Alfred smiled as they helped the twins out of the car.

So how was that? Good? Bad? Short? Long? I managed to work in Wy, Seychelles, and Australia into this. Now the last name Dundridge I gave them, well is a Simpsons reference. When they go to Australia, Bart pranked a boy named Tobias Dundridge and with no official name given in Hetalia for Australia, went with that. The name Winnie for Wy, well found it on a list of Bluey characters, a very famous kid's show from Australia. It's actually not too bad. Saw a few episodes. And the ice cream store is based off the chain called Coldstone Creamery. They're all over the US and some locations internationally as I know I have some international readers. Anyway, remember to read (well you just did) and to review. Ciao for now,
