Seasons of Wonder: A Wonder Woman Fanfiction Story

Psych Out:

One night...

Wonder Woman and Harbinger are in a central park in a city in Florida. They're getting up from a recent battle.

After a bit... Wonder Woman calls out worriedly, "Donna? Donna? Where are you?!"

Harbinger asks in concern, "Diana? What's wrong?"

Wonder Woman brings up, "Donna Troy is missing. This wasn't part of the plan, Lyla! ! If he's got her? I..."

She's teary eyed. She's trying hard not to cry.

Teary eyed... Harbinger tries to assure, "Diana. Try to stay calm. I'll get some help. We'll find her in time."

She puts comforting hands on Wonder Woman's shoulders.

Wonder Woman solemnly says, "thank you."

They both solemnly smile some.

Harbinger adds, "you're welcome. You go ahead with your original plan. I'll be..."

Suddenly... A large shadow hand grabs Harbinger.

Harbinger struggles to break free.

Wonder Woman cries out, "Lyla! !"

She gets her golden lasso around part of the shadow hand.

She struggles to get the shadow hand to let go of Harbinger.

Just then... Another large shadow hand grabs Wonder Woman.

She struggles to break free.

But... She is falling fast into a portal of darkness.

Not long after...

A familiar shadow is getting up. She is emerging out of a realm of darkness.

A familiar looking figure asks, "where...am I?"

She is either Donna Troy or Wonder Woman. It's hard to tell in the darkness which one she is.

A mystery voice taunts, "you thought you could challenge me. But, you have no idea how powerful I have become."

The familiar figure points out, "you're wrong. Cadmus told me you must have been biding your time in your cell mastering your telepathic powers...until you were powerful enough to mind control guards in front of your cell to fire at each other."

The mystery voice insists, "lucky guess! Laugh. No woman, not even Amanda Waller or Ace, can stop me now."

The familiar figure comments, "hasn't anyone told you it's not nice to be mean to women?"

The mystery voice recalls, "I've been a very bad man. I telepathically sensed my wife would soon get the courage to break up with me and leave me for a younger man. I drove her mad on the road and she was never seen again."

The mystery voice cruelly laughs.

Flashes go by: Of a nervous looking woman with long blond hair driving a car, of a guy with a light gun pointer firing at the woman from a crosswalk, of her swerving her car away fast and crashing into a traffic light, of her crying out no, of the mental image of the mystery guy vanishing fast...and of a short man walking out of the front of the car whistling all too happily to himself.

The mystery voice taunts, "I've taken your spiritual sister. I've taken your precious golden lasso. You and your sister will be easy to drive mad."

The familiar figure declares, "you're a very sick twisted man, Doctor Psycho. We will stop you! !"

The mystery voice reveals his face.

He has medium black hair, a beard, and a mustache. He has a cruel grin. He wears black and white formal clothes.

Doctor Psycho's mental projection of his body fluctuates from small size to giant size. Several mirror images of him appear.

The familiar figure mentally has appear several golden lassos coming down from above.

Doctor Psycho's mirror images just phase right through them. They laugh.

Doctor Psycho taunts, "you can try harder to stop me. Or, you can try to save your sister. Laugh. Let the game begin!"

The familiar figure tries to grab the nearest mental image of Doctor Psycho.

But... The whole scene quickly changes.

The familiar figure finds herself on a highway. Darkness is around her.

She frustratedly sighs.

Suddenly... A red car with spikes and Doctor Psycho's face on it charges for her.

The familiar figure slashes her light blue spirit energy blade into it.

But... It does nothing.

The Doctor Psycho car cruelly laughs.

The familiar figure barely high jump kicks off of the headlights of the Doctor Psycho car.

She breaks into a run.

Echoes of familiar voices fill the darkness.

This is what they're saying:

Why did you kidnap me? If you wanted a fight? We could have just started with...

Last time we fought? You try destroy me. You push me into Aresia's blast. Why?! You before kind to me.

Doctor Psycho is trying to drive you crazy. It's not real!

You try destroy Zeus and Aresia. You try to break up Zeus and Hera as partners with visions to Hera. You, Athena, say anything to get your way! What do you want with me?!

No! ! !

The familiar figure looks shaken.

She's about to call out to the voices.

But... Doctor Psycho calls out, "uh-uh! Too slow, wonder girl!"

The Doctor Psycho car curve charges for the familiar figure.

The familiar figure shields herself from the car's spikes with her spirit energy blade.

But... The momentum of the car's charge sends her flying off the highway.

She cries out, "no! ! !"

She starts falling fast into darkness.

Suddenly... The familiar figure finds herself at a beach party with Circe, Devastator Woman, and lion-cheetah hybrids.

The familiar figure sighs in relief.

She is play fighting in the water along with everyone else.

That is...until a giant whale with a Doctor Psycho face charges for her.

Doctor Psycho's laughter is heard.

The familiar figure shields herself from the nightmare whale's teeth with her spirit energy blade. Circe, and Devastator Woman charge at the giant whale with goddess claws and goddess water blasts.

But... The momentum sends the familiar figure falling fast into the waters.

She cries out no in a gargled voice.

Suddenly... The familiar figure finds herself at a spy themed party with United States fighters at a cafeteria in a U.S. fighter base.

Steve Trevor is in the midst of making a toast to everyone in the room...when a team of secret agents with balloon like Doctor Psycho face masks crash in through some windows.

The nightmare secret agents fires laser fast fire from a two handed light gun pointer in each hand.

Doctor Psycho's laughter is heard.

The familiar figure mentally has up large floating Amazon wristbands to deflect most of the laser fast fire away from all the U.S. fighters in the cafeteria.

But... The nightmare secret agents take down the familiar figure and Steve Trevor.

The familiar figure cries out no as she falls to the ground.

Suddenly... She finds herself at a high society party with drinks on Paradise Island with Queen Antiope, Etta Ranch, Bana-Mighdall Artemis, Harbinger, and other Amazons.

The familiar figure and Harbinger are talking about ancient history...when a giant dark red missile with wallpapers of Doctor Psycho's face over it appears.

Doctor Psycho's laughter is heard.

The Paradise Island nation Amazons including the familiar figure are about to use many golden lassos to send the giant missile hurling away into outer space.

But... The nightmare missile explodes first.

Cries of mental overload from Amazons fill the air...joined by the familiar figure's own cry of mental overload.

Paradise Island is burning around them. Tears are falling from the faces of the Amazons.

The familiar figure shakily tells herself, "it...it's not real. It can't be...! !"

Suddenly... Another voice calls out, "wait! You don't deserve this pain. Take this. I'll help you out of this mess."

The familiar figure looks up.

She sees a near blindingly bright light. Smoke and flames vanish before it.

Amazons, a bright blue sky, Steve Trevor, Circe, Devastator Woman, Paradise Island... They are all coming back in the familiar figure's vision.

The familiar figure is shown to be Wonder Woman herself.

And... Cat Grant hands her back her golden lasso.

Cat Grant somberly admits, "I...wanted Artemis to pay for my son being lost to her rampage at my TV studio. But... Hard sniffle. You never deserved this, Wonder Woman. You're a great hero. Hard sniffle. I told Doctor Psycho to just have you go to sleep so you'd be out of the way: Not subjecting you to a series of nightmares. Hard sniffle. I'm so sorry Wonder Woman. I'm so sorry."

Flashes go by: Of the day her show The Cat Grant Gossip was abruptly cancelled...in the wake of a certain rampage in her television studio by the goddess Artemis.

Cat Grant and Wonder woman are both teary eyed. But, they're bittersweetly smiling.

With some mixed feelings... Wonder Woman tells her, "I forgive you. Just... Hard sniffle. Just please don't do this again."

Cat Grant solemnly nods.

The teariness in both of their eyes starts to dry up.

Wonder Woman gets her golden lasso.

Flashes go by: Of Wonder Woman and Harbinger planning to stage a fight with Circe and Giganta as part of Wonder Woman's plan to try to catch Doctor Psycho off guard, of Wonder Woman planning with Donna Troy to pretend to fight over Donna Troy getting a party invitation from Ares and Aphrodite that was also made up...and of Harbinger and Wonder Woman getting up from a recent battle.

A golden cosmic glow grows around her and Cat Grant.

A giant face of Doctor Psycho is fluctuating in a bright blue sky.

Doctor Psycho cries out, "no! ! ! I was going to destroy...all women...! ! !"

The giant face of Doctor Psycho vanishes from the sky.

Out in the physical...

Wonder Woman has Doctor Psycho tied up in her golden lasso. Wonder Woman, Doctor Psycho, and Cat Grant are in a psychologist office.

Doctor Psycho has been putting up a mental projection to disguise himself as a famous psychologist all day. Wonder Woman, with some help from Harbinger and Picture Claire, tracked Doctor Psycho down to that psychologist's office.

Wonder Woman as Diana Prince came in pretending to need a psychologist over losing Donna Troy as a excuse to try to catch Doctor Psycho off guard.

However... It turns out Cat Grant pretended to be a new secretary for Doctor Psycho so that she could kind of easily keep Diana Prince distracted with light conversation...while Doctor Psycho took the golden lasso from Diana Prince.

Doctor Psycho is back in his small physical body. His mental projection of his disguise is gone.

Wonder Woman easily carries the tied up Doctor Psycho out of the office. He keeps angrily crying out no.

Wonder Woman gets into her United States fighter jet. She as Diana Prince heads to Cadmus to hand Doctor Psycho over to them.

Cadmus has a specially designed cell of their own to place Doctor Psycho in. The cell has robot guards and no human staff.

Meanwhile...

Circe has gone missing.

Harbinger called Bana-Mighdall Artemis and Devastator Woman for help in finding Circe. Harbinger flies over to the Bermuda Triangle to look for Circe. Bana-Mighdall Artemis and Devastator Woman look for Circe among the biggest hills in Florida.

Circe is hovering in the night sky. She's holding a confused looking Donna Troy.

Donna Troy nervously asks, "why did you kidnap me? If you wanted a fight? We could have just started with that."

She's struggling to break free from Circe. But, it's not working.

Circe nervously concludes, "no Athena! Last time we fought? You try destroy me. You push me to Aresia's blast. Why?! You before kind to me."

With mixed feelings... Donna Troy tries to assure, "Circe? Artemis? Doctor Psycho is trying to drive you crazy. It's not real! If I was a goddess, I'd already be breaking free of your grasp. I'm Donna Troy. Why would I lie?!"

They're both teary eyed. They both sniffle hard.

Circe assumes, "you try destroy Zeus and Aresia. You try break up Zeus and Hera as partners with visions to Hera. You, Athena, say anything to get your way! What you want with me?!"

Then... Bana-Mighdall Artemis and Devastator Woman find them.

Bana-Mighdall Artemis sarcastically goes, "oh "great". She thinks Donna is Athena."

Devastator Woman nervously says, "it is? I confused."

Bana-Mighdall Artemis gives her a frustrated look.

Bana-Mighdall Artemis mutters, "look. I don't have time to argue with you. Give me temporary goddess powers, and I can fight Circe faster than she can..."

Devastator Woman argues, "no! I not always smart. But, Circe just confused. You with goddess power want to destroy Circe my best friend!"

She warningly glares at Bana-Mighdall Artemis. She also points toward Circe.

Bana-Mighdall Artemis heavily sighs.

She figures, "fine. You're best friends. Then tell me how to get her to talk!"

Devastator Woman considers, "well... Moderate sigh. She likes animals, Broadway, and spinning tables with numbers. I not go to those fancy tables because I not eat chips anymore. They taste funny!"

Bana-Mighdall Artemis realizes, "wait. Spinning tables with... You mean betting chips and casinos."

Devastator Woman cluelessly figures, "I guess. What is betting, Artemis BM?"

Bana-Mighdall Artemis takes a deep breath.

Bana-Mighdall Artemis comments, "one: Don't call me that again. Two: You're right about one thing. Maybe there is a way I can talk to her."

Devastator Woman smiles. Bana-Mighdall Artemis smiles a little.

Devastator Woman lightly reasons, "ooh! Okay. Okay. But, just saying Artemis confuses me. There two."

Bana-Mighdall Artemis chuckles some on the last part.

Circe sees a mind control illusion of Athena instead of Donna Troy talking to her.

Illusion Athena tells Circe, "I was hoping to let you down easy. But... Heavy sigh. Fine. You're a loose cannon, Artemis. A goddess of impulses. We may have had some good times in our temporary alliance with Aresia. But... I knew deep down you would turn on me one day anyway. You're too much like a wild animal to be worthy of goddess powers, Artemis. The people that like you are your animal-human hybrids the Lapith. No one else likes you. No one else cares for you. No one else trusts you. Zeus and Hera only want to protect you from me to keep the Olympian Gods in place: A very old fashioned standard. Believe me: It's better if you had just let me destroy you."

Circe cries out, "no! ! !"

She hurls Donna Troy away.

Donna Troy is about to crash land into a tree.

But... Devastator Woman catches Donna Troy in time.

Donna Troy says, "thanks." Devastator Woman says, "you welcome."

Devastator Woman is bringing Donna Troy back to the ground.

Circe starts to cry out in mental overload. She is fluctuating between Circe and Artemis.

Bana-Mighdall Artemis somewhat nervously calls out, "Circe! I bet if you look inside... Really look inside... You'll know you weren't really talking to Athena. You'll know nothing Doctor Psycho told you is the truth."

Circe takes a deep breath. She starts to kind of slowly stop fluctuating between Circe and Artemis.

Circe awkwardly asks, "what...kind of bet? How can I...? How can I know you're you, Artemis of Bana-Mighdall? Friend of Wonder Woman?"

Bana-Mighdall Artemis suggests, "if I can't prove that you've been seeing illusions... I'll tell you where to find Athena. No tricks."

Circe thinks out loud, "ok...ay. Look inside myself? I...I don't understand that part. Before the day Wonder Woman and me started to be friends? I...I don't remember anything."

Bana-Mighdall Artemis solemnly smiles some.

Bana-Mighdall Artemis highlights, "maybe part of you doesn't want to remember being Artemis. Heavy sigh. The truth isn't always easy to see, Circe. Even for me. Wonder Woman...helped me start to see a better path for my life when she exposed Bana-Mighdall Hippolyta's loyalty to the Ares of my world. Me and Wonder Woman may argue quite a bit. But, we are still on the same side. Maybe your past doesn't have to be locked away."

Circe solemnly figures, "thank you, Artemis of Bana-Mighdall. I... I'll try."

She closes her eyes. She focuses on a blurry image of the goddess Artemis.

And... Circe gasps.

Flashes go by: Of all of goddess Artemis's adventures with Athena in a temporary alliance with Aresia.

Some more flashes go by: Of Circe as Artemis being destroyed by Aresia, of a spark of goddess thought from goddess Artemis that same moment, of the goddess Artemis goddess restoring herself while crash landing into a island in the Bermuda Triangle...and of Circe rising from a then recently formed Lazarus pit.

Circe opens her eyes. Tears are falling from her face.

Circe somberly realizes, "I...remember everything. Athena not my enemy. Hard sniffle. Most Olympian Gods didn't care for me. Aresia tried to destroy me. Hard sniffle. Doctor Psycho today tried to... Hard sniffle. I'm sorry, Donna. I'm really sorry..."

Circe hugs Donna Troy close. Circe is crying over Donna Troy's shoulder.

Donna Troy assures, "it's okay now Circe. It's okay."

At the same time... She hugs her back.

Devastator Woman and Bana-Mighdall Artemis bittersweetly smile. Some tears fall from their faces.

Donna Troy bittersweetly smiles.

The teariness in all of their eyes is slowly but surely drying up.

And... Harbinger is now hovering in the sky by them...bittersweetly smiling too.

A mortal hour later, in Wonder Woman's and Steve's hotel suite...

Diana has recently told Steve about her mind battle with Doctor Psycho.

Diana solemnly concludes, "and after tonight... I'm taking a break from parties."

Steve solemnly figures, "yeah. I can understand that angel. What about the birthday party for one of our friends back at the base though?"

Diana assures, "it's just for a few days, Steve. Don't worry about it."

Diana puts a comforting hand on Steve's.

They smile to each other.

Steve figures, "even better."

Diana figures, "yeah. It really is."

Diana starts to head in the bathroom.

She waves to Steve. Steve waves back.

Diana is going to take a bath in hot water to help take her mind off of the mind battle with Doctor Psycho.

From high in the sky above a certain central park in Florida?

A set of flashes with silhouettes fly by: Of Giganta about to regroup with Wonder Woman after the pretend fight, of Giganta at human size being fired at with two tranquilizers by Cadmus agents, of the two Cadmus agents driving a car with a unconscious Giganta in the back...and of a bright red glowing Giganta growing giant sized to send car parts and Cadmus agents flying hard.

And... A thought bubble from that bright red glow appears.

It says:

Remember our deal, Doris Zuel. The day I keep you and your animals out of a government cell? You start working for me.
