They continued their conversation, but at some point, Logan realized that Camille obviously wanted to talk to him privately. He squeezed her hand to show her that he understood and got up. "Excuse us, guys," he said, to which his friends - and the Jennifer's - only responded with a disinterested murmur of "yeah, whatever," not really paying attention to the couple. But at that moment Logan didn't mind. He followed Camille to a quiet corner of the park, where he leaned against the wall of the Palm Woods while she wrapped her arms around his neck. "I missed you."
Logan smiled. "Oh, come on, I wasn't gone that long, was I?"
"True. But the thought that . . . the thought of not living under the same roof with you anymore, of not being able to see you every day, it drove me crazy."
Logan nodded. "I know. When Gustavo told us we had to leave the Palm Woods, you were my first thought. I wanted to convince him that I couldn't move out because of you, but well, you know him," he finished with a shrug.
"I can imagine," she murmured, playing with the hair on the back of his neck.
"On the other hand," Logan said thoughtfully, "this new house had a lot of rooms, it was quite a mansion, actually, so it probably would have been easier to find some space to spend some quality alone time."
Camille had to smile but didn't say anything.
"Let's just hope that when we leave the Palm Woods one day, we will do it together."
"Does that mean you're thinking about our future?" she asked. "About us, moving in together?"
"Well . . . I mean, not now, but someday . . . yeah, why not?"
"I would like that," she said softly, leaning her forehead against his. Logan closed his eyes. "I'm glad to be home."
"At the Palm Woods?"
He opened his eyes again. "Yeah, that too. But actually, I was talking about you," he said, running a hand through her curly hair. "You are my home."
"And you are mine," she replied in a whisper and kissed him, and Logan kissed her back. Of course they got some amused and weird looks from people who walked past them, but they couldn't care less.
