Location: Mysterious Tower
Kairi and Lea had appeared in front of Master Yen-Sid's tower in a magical puff of smoke and sparkles.
"I hate when Merlin teleports us like that!" Lea complained as he stretched his arms. Kairi giggled.
"Well, it's better than riding in the Gummi Ship for three hours. So, what do you think the Master wants?" She asked as the two walked up to the castle.
"Not Sure, but Merlin sounded pretty serious when he delivered that message from the old wizard so it must be important." Lea said with a shrug of his shoulders.
"I guess, you think Sora and Riku are here for this too?" Kairi asked, crossing her arms.
"Probably, although I'm surprised you wanna see Sora after the little 'Agreement' you two had." Lea said. Kairi looked down a bit, she and Sora had been through so much together and with all the danger, close calls and constant interruptions, the two decided that they would be better off staying just friends. It was more her decision if anything, she knew Sora was amazing and that she owed him so much but….
Lea saw the sad look on Kairi's face and put his hand on her head. "Look I'm not gonna judge you for your choices, the things I've done are far worse so I have no right to. I will say this though, Sora is your friend and he's the type of guy who would make sure that you were happy no matter what, even if that meant giving up his own happiness to do so. I don't think he's gonna hold something like this against you, Sora's not one for grudges." Lea said with a small smile. Kairi took a deep breath and nodded her head.
"Yes I know he isn't, he's one of my best friends and I just don't wanna see him upset or worse faking his smile." Kairi said in a somber tone. Before Lea could speak up again, they had both reached the door of the castle and coming out was Donald and Goofy.
"I still can't believe the Master wouldn't let us go with him this time!" Donald seethed.
"Calm down Donald, Sora's a big boy and he can take care of himself. All we can do right now is- Oh, Hey there!" Goofy said, turning his attention to the two redheads in front of him. Donald finally noticed the two as well and smiled.
"Oh Axel, Kairi nice to see you both again. How's the training coming along?" Donald asked calming down a bit.
"I told you it's Lea, Get it Memorized and yes it has been a few months now, hasn't it, well for us not so much for the two of you." Lea said with a chuckle. Donald and Goofy knew what he had meant by that and nodded.
"So, what are you both doing here?" Kairi asked the duo.
"We were actually heading back to Disney Castle to get some training done while Sora and Riku are gone." Donald explained. Kairi's eyes widened when she heard the boy's names.
"Sora and Riku were here, did they head off to another world?" She asked Curiously.
"Eeyup! Master Yen-Sid sent them off to separate worlds, apparently the Organization is causing trouble in both." Goofy explained. Lea narrowed his eyes at this.
"I'm guessing that's the reason he called us here, we're probably going to help them with the Organization in these worlds." He said, crossing his arms while Kairi nodded in agreement.
"Doubtful!" Donald scoffed. Kairi and Lea raised an eyebrow at the duck. "Master Yen-Sid said that Sora had to complete his mission alone and Riku took off before him so we don't know which world he's in." Donald said looking down. This caused Kairi to worry, sure she was used to Zora and Riku running off to other worlds but she still worried for their safety.
"Well, I'm sure they'll be alright, it is Sora and Riku after all. How much trouble could they get into on separate worlds?" Lea asked with a shrug of his shoulders. Donald and Kairi both facepalmed while Goofy just shook his head. Lea looked at the three with a confused look on his face. "What?" He asked.
"Lea, when it comes to Sora and Riku, please don't say stuff like that." Kairi said, putting a hand on the taller redheads back.
"She's right, things could always go wrong! Don't go jinxing it!" Donald spazzed. Lea then put his hands up defensively.
"Ok, Ok no need to bite my head off. All I'm saying is that those two are strong and smart, we should have faith in them to come back safe and sound." He said doing his best to calm his new 'friends' down. Kairi took a deep breath and nodded.
"He's right, I'm sure they're fine. Riku knows how to take care of himself and Sora can make friends with anyone." She said with a small smile.
"She's right, Riku is the strongest among us in my opinion." Goofy said, scratching the side of his head.
"And Sora knows how to make friends quick, I'm willing to bet he's traveling with someone right now." Donald said with a confident smirk. Kairi smiled at this, she knew both Donald and Goofy were right and this made her feel better.
"Alright, I think we kept the old man waiting long enough, C'mon Kairi. See you guys." Lea said with a wave before walking up to the castle door. Kairi nodded and turned back to DOnald and Goofy.
"Hope to see you guys soon." She said before Following Lea. "Donald and Goofy waved back to her before Donald summoned his Staff and in a split second both he and Goofy disappeared.
Yen-Sid's Study
Kairi and Lea made their way up the tower and to the Master's study.
"Master Yen-Sid, we're here!" Kairi said in a cheerful tone. The Master was sitting in his chair as always and he greeted the two new Keyblade Wielders with a warm smile.
"Kairi, Lea it's good to see the two of you both. I trust your training with Merlin has been going well, yes?" He asked. Lea gave the old Master a cocky Smile.
"I think the two of us have improved, what do you think Princess?" He asked the Princess of Heart.
"Well, we still have a lot to learn but I think we've gotten better." Kairi answered honestly. Yen-Sid nodded.
"Well then, I suppose since you both are confident in your skills I don't suppose you want to put them to the test." He said. Lea and Kairi raised an eyebrow at the and became slightly anxious.
"Test them how?" Lea asked.
"As you know, I keep a close eye on the balance of Light and Darkness. I sent Sora and Riku off to two worlds where the Darkness was close to taking them, but I didn't tell them that there was a third." Yen-Sid explained.
"And let me guess, you want us to handle what's going on in that world?" Axel asked.
"Not just the world, but the many dimensions that are connected to it." This got Kairi and Lea's attention.
"Wait, dimensions to it? What does that mean?" Kairi asked curiously.
"You see, the world you both are heading too is called Heatherfield and you will meet an old friend of mine. Her name is Yan-Lin and she will give you all the information you need for this mission. It's been many years since I've seen her and her team, I pray they are all doing well." Yen-Sid said looking down.
"Alright then, so when do we leave?" Lea asked. Just as he asked that question, a large green Gummi Ship was floating outside the window.
"Does that answer your question?" The Master said with a smirk.
"Smart Ass." Lea said under his breath. The old Master chuckled and took out a small sheet of paper.
"Once you both arrive in Heatherfield, go to this address. There you will find Yan-Lin and her friends." He said. Holding out the note. Kairi took the paper and nodded.
"Good luck to the both of you and keep on your guard, As I told Sora and Riku, The Organization may Target these worlds you'll travel to." Yen-Sid said in a grim tone. Kairi and Lea both took a deep breath and looked to the Yen-Sid.
"We'll do our best Old Man, that's really all I can promise." Lea said in a humble tone.
"Yea, we'll make sure they won't cause….too much chaos." Kairi said in an unsure tone. The two redheads may have been slightly confident in their abilities, taking on the Organization now was a bit of a tall order for them at the moment. Yen-Sid saw the unsure looks on their faces and smiled at them.
"I can sense your doubt and let me tell you, I've made preparations this time so that the Organization won't be one step ahead of us. Have faith in me and in yourselves and you both will succeed." He said in a Confident tone. Kairi and Lea looked at one another and after a few seconds they smiled .
"Alright Master, We trust you and don't worry, we won't let you down." Kairi said, her confidence returning to her. "Yea, we got this!" Kairi said. The old master nodded.
"Very well, Now I believe you both have a Gummi Ship to catch." He said with a chuckle. The two redheads bowed to the old Master and ran out of his study.
"This is gonna be interesting." Lea said with a cocky smirk.
"Our first real adventure, hope it's better than the last one you took me on." Kairi said Jokingly. Lea almost fell to the floor after hearing that.
"Hey, I was...on the wrong side of history back then." Lea said sheepishly. Kairi giggled at the boy's reaction.
"That you were, but you're getting better." She said with a smirk. Lea just gave the girl an unamused look.
"Oh you're hilarious, are you ready for this or what?" Axel asked the Princess of Heart.
"Not really, but let's do it anyway." Kairi said with a small smile. Lea smiled back and the two proceeded to the Invincible Gummi Ship.
2 Hours Later, Location: Gummi Ship
"Ugh, are we there yet?" Lea asked in an annoyed tone. Kairi looked at the ships Navigation system and saw that they were very close.
"Almost, just another ten minutes of so. What do you think this world has in store for us?" She asked the older redhead.
"Not too sure, maybe giant monsters, Dragons, hopefully some sea-salt ice Cream." Lea said remembering his time with Roxas.
"Oh yeah, I hope they do too! Sora and Riku brought some for me and the others from Twilight Town after we got back from the Organization's world a while back." Kairi said with a huge smile on her face. Lea couldn't help but smile back at the girl.
"You three really do everything together huh?" He asked. Kairi's smile all but vanished after that question and she looked down. Lea gave the girl a look of concern.
"You ok?" He asked. Kairi shook her head and sighed.
"It's just, I know Sora, Riku and I have been through a lot, but we haven't been through...all of it together." Kairi then looked out the ship's window. "Ever since our first adventure, I've been left out of all the action and then our second adventure happened and I still barely did anything to help them. I feel like during the year they were gone, I've drifted apart from them." She then placed a hand over her heart. "Don't get me wrong, I still love the both of them and I still feel a deep connection with both, but I still feel like-" "You're so far from them that you don't think you can catch up." Kairi looked up at Lea with a look of shock on her face. Lea took a deep breath and looked to Kairi.
"I kinda get that, back when I was in the Organization...I did a lot of things I'm not proud of. It wasn't all bad because I had Roxas through it all and then because of my loyalty to the group I started pushing him further away from me. I know that wasn't entirely my fault, but I still can't help but feel guilty for treating Roxas the way I did." Lea laid back in his seat and looked at the ceiling. "It's been a long time since I've seen him and since he returned to Sora, I'll never get the chance to say sorry to him. I feel like the connection I made with him is slowly disappearing." Kairi honestly didn't know what to say, she knew that Lea and Sora's Nobody Roxas were friends back when they were in the Organization, but she never knew how close they were and she could tell by the tone of Le's voice that he and Roxas had a very strong connection. She felt bad bringing up her struggles with her friends and their connection being weak, at least her friends were still with her.
"But!"
Kairi jumped a bit at Lea's sudden outburst and her eyes widened when she saw a smile on his face. "I haven't given up hope, I still believe Roxas can come back one way or another. Sora showed me that I just need to have faith in the future I believe in and I believe me and Roxas will meet again. So don't give up Kairi, you, Riku and Sora have a stronger connection than you realize and you'll find a way to work it out in the end. Got it Memorized?" Lea said, pointing to his head. Kairi took in all of Lea's words and she smiled.
"You're right, I should talk to both of them, especially Sora. I think I owe him a clear explanation for why I made my decision, I think… no I know we can all work it out." Kairi said, her confidence returning to her.
"Atta Girl." Lea said, giving the girl a thumbs up.
BEEP! BEEP!
Lea and Kairi turned back to the ship's navigation system and saw that the world they were assigned to protect was in their sights.
"Alright, We're Here!" Kairi cheered!
"Oh Yeah, let's show this world what we got K!" Lea said, holding up his hand.
"Right, let's do this!" Kairi said before slapping her hand with his.
