~Tragic Case Of The Shrunken Ones ~

Summary: On Kid's final heist, everything goes wrong. He shrunk after Snake and his men fed him up with Apotoxin 4869. He was forced to tell his true identity and intentions to his rivals. What will happen? Can he and Conan stop the B.O? The Tragic case opens it's closed doors.

~Prologue~

Story Begins:

Flashback: 2 weeks ago..

Deep night had fall in the streets of Ekoda City. Today was the day, where Ginzo Nakamori, also known as for Nakamori-Keibu will catch the Great Phantom Thief, Kaito Kid. He was so desperate to finish his task.

"Guard every corner! We can't let Kid get away this time!" Ginzo commanded seriously.

"Yes sir!!" The polices saluted.

"You can't get away this time, Kid. I will put you behind the bars of Ekoda City Prison!" Ginzo thought in frustration and swear.

In the dark alleys of the building, a man who was wearing a white suit, top white hat and monocles was staring at the guarding police officers on the doors of the gem room.

"Your defense is quite difficult to break in, but I always have my own ways, Nakamori-Keibu. I must destroy the Pandora Gem and you can't stop me from doing it." Kaito Kid thought. He remained his poker face on.

"Time for a nap.. Officers."

Kaito Kid threw his smoke bombs towards the hallway. The officers began to yawn and fell asleep.

"What's happeni.. ng?" The officer yawned as he drifted into a deep sleep.

"Sleep well." Kid said as he entered the Gem room, where the Pandora was placed.

The emergency alarm began to beep loudly. Ginzo and the other backup police officers knew what the signal was telling. It means, the phantom thief, the magician under the moonlight appeared. "Kaito Kid.."

"Find Him!" Ginzo commanded. He was now frustrated. He can't believe that Kid had tricked them again. His tricks make him feel sick. He was sick of catching him, he always end up in a failure. A failure that he can't accept.

Meanwhile, outside..

A brunette girl named Aoko Nakamori was watching Kid's heist. Even if she was an anti- Kid fan, she wanted to help her father to catch him. She remembered what her father told her. Ginzo told her that this will be the day where Kid will end his career as the phantom thief. His final heist and no more.

"We will catch you now, Kid! We won't let you get away from this. That way, I won't live in a lonely place." Aoko thought, determined.

On the other side of the building, A blonde boy named Hakuba Saguru was also there. He was in-charged of the backup. He was also brought to observe and catch the phantom thief.

"This ends here, Kaito Kid." Hakuba murmured.

"Finally, this gem must be destroyed." Kid said as he went outside towards the top building.

"Stop right there! Kaito Kid!" The voice belonged to Ginzo, who was furious at him.

"We meet again, Nakamori-Keibu." Kid greeted politely as Ginzo glared at him.

"Give the gem back! Kid!" Ginzo glared.

"I'm sorry to say, but I won't be returning this gem back to it's owner." Kid said, he was now telling the truth.

"What?!" Ginzo was bewildered when he heard Kid's statement.

"Goodbye, Nakamori-Keibu. This will be my final heist and a farewell as well." Kid said as he disappeared without leaving a trace.

The audience stared at the empty buliding with sad and disappointed faces. They loved Kid's magic show so far. They wanted to see more, even if he was one of the most wanted criminals across the globe. His name won't be forgotten, but his true identity remains forever unknown and unspoken.

"Darn it!" Ginzo cursed himself. He failed again. Another failure, Another problem. His boss won't be happy when he finds out.

"Kid.." Hakuba was also ashamed for not catching the phantom thief.

"Find him! Now! Find that Phantom Thief!" Ginzo shouted in frustration as the backup police officers appeared to look for the most wanted criminal in Japan.

"You won't get away!" Ginzo thought.

Meanwhile with Kid..

Kaito Kid was running away from the building. He finally got the Pandora Gem. It wasn't that difficult for him. He was still aware that there might be a chance that Snake and the other members of the Black Organization will appear to take the gem from him. He won't let that happen, he will destroy the gem to avenge his father, whom Snake and the members killed

"I will avenge my father. Those bastards will pay for killing my father." Kid thought in anger.

"It's time to end all of this.." He mumbled as he begn to destroy the gem. He was suddenky intterupted by a furious and desperate Snake.

"You Brat! Don't destroy that gem!" Snake said in anger and disgust. He started firing the phantom thief.

"I won't let you take this gem away from me! This cursed thing must be destroyed!" Kid said furiously.

"Catch him!" Snake cried in anger.

Snake's men began to fire their guns and chase the phantom thief. Kaito Kid was in danger. He was in danger. He can't destroy the gem unless he either knocked Snake or kill him instantly. But he can't do that. He's a phantom thief who only steals gems, not a serial killer or murderer.

He was making his way towards the escape. He was not only in danger, but now he's cornered and trapped at the same time.

"You're cornered now Kid, there's no escape." Snake smiled as the other men held Kid tight.

"Argh! Let me go! You bastards!" Kid said angrily as he was held by Snake's companions.

"You can't escape now.. Kid.. Give me that gem and I'll spare your pathetic life." Snake smirked evilly as Kid gritted his teeth in anger.

"I won't let you..." Kid said in anger. He had finally freed himself from the tight grip.

He ran towards the skyscraper. He looked at the blue gem one last time and tossed the pandora gem under the moon light. Snake was too late to stop the phantom thief from doing his final stunt.

"HOW DARE YOU RUIN MY PLANS!! KAITO KID!! YOU WILL PAY FOR DOING THIS!" Snake shouted in anger as he fired his last bullet towards Kid.

The time was ticking and running fast, Time was so fast, Kid didn't noticed the last bullet, heading towards him. He soon realized that the bullet was heading towards him.

"Oh no.. this is bad..!" Kid thought.

He was too late to dodge. He was shot on his left arm. His left arm began to bleed, staining his white and clear suit. Screams are heard in the sky scraper. Kid was frozen. He can't move because his body felt numb due to his shock.

"For your consequence, I'll feed you up with this. The Apotoxin 4869 that killed the Detective Brat and the one the traitor made."

Snake smirked.

Two of Snake's men lifted the injured Kid up and Snake stared at him with a menacing smile.

"Goodbye Kaito Kid, forever your name will be forgotten and lost." Snake said evilly as he fed the injured Kid. Once Kid drank the poison, he felt his body burning in pain and agony.

Snake and his men left. Even Kid destroyed the Pandora Gem, Snake won't forgive him for ruining his plans. Kid took the punishment.

As the pain began to grow, he realized that he shrunk

"This will be my end.." Kid said as he closed his eyes and he became unconcious. Tears fell on his eyes. He doesn't want to die yet, this was not the one he wanted. What will happen to Aoko? He can't let her find out that he was Kaito Kid.

"No, this not your end yet Kaito Kid." That was the last thing Kid heard. It was a familiar and a mature voice as well. He knew that voice.

...

...

...

Even Kid was unconcious, he also realized that Metantei-kun and the girl saved him.

Meanwhile With The Police Task Force..

Ginzo and his men struggled to find the thief. They were currently looking for Kid in the lowland areas while Hakuba and the backup police task force went to look in the skyscraper, Where Kid used to go during his heists.

As Hakuba reached the highest floor..

"Detective, we didn't find Kid, but we only found this and some traces of blood found in the floor and on his belongings as well." One kf the police reported politely.

The police showed Kid's stained cape, hat and monocle. The hat and cape were covered in blood while his monocle was cracked.

Hakuba stared at the items with shock and disbelief. This can't be true...If Kid's items are stained with blood, could he be.. Dead or just something else he didn't know.

Few minutes later..

"Nakamori-Keibu." Hakuba started.

"What happened Hakuba?" Ginzo was not in the mood for taking conversations now.

"We didn't find Kid, but we found these." Hakuba reported as he showed Kid's blood stained cape, hat and shattered monocle.

Ginzo was in shock. He was speechless when he saw the destroyed belongings of the thief.

"Kaito Kid.." Ginzo regretted. He regretted on insulting and cursing Kid. He believed that Kid was long gone and dead as well. The evidence was proved and shown to him. No more denies

because the evidence Hakuba showed was true

The reporters began telling the news:

"For today's report, The Phantom Thief also known as Kaito Kid was killed during his final

heist. It remains unknown, the ones who murdered the thief were not identified, thus making this case unclosed. The task force will be investigating the tragic case behind Kid's death. For those who saw the murder, please report it to the police right away. Thank you and have a good night." The reporter said as the news ended up in a commercial break.

The people who heard this tragedy began to mourn on Kid's death. Some were sad and speechless when they heard about the news. It was not good..

When the news had arrived on Aoko, she was also shocked. She can't believe that Kid died. He died on his final heist..

The next day..

In Aoko's class, the whole class was talking about Kaito Kid's final heist. Some mourned (Including Akako) for Kid's death. While some remainer calm, but inside sad.

"Had anyone seen Kaito?" Aoko asked.

"Sorry Aoko-chan, Kaito isn't here. His relative told me that he didn't returned home yesterday." Her teacher answered sadly.

Aoko sat on her chair, devistated and nervous as well. She feared that Kaito was either killed or kidnapped during Kid's heist. She shook her head to take all those things out of her head.

"Kaito.." Aoko mumbled, but inside her heart was broken and crushed to pieces. She will never see her beloved Kaito again.

In Somewhere...

"Where am I?" Kaito mumbled as he opened his eyes. He was inside of a room.. He then saw three people, The first one was a looking old man with glasses and he was wearing a lab coat. The second one was a girl, like the old man, she was also wearing her lab coat and beautiful red dress. The third one was a boy, he was wearing a blue coat, and eyeglasses as well. The shrunken thief recognized the boy and the girl immediately.

"Metantei-kun?" Kaito gasped.

"Well hello there, Kaito Kid." Conan greeted.

"Hey.." Haibara greeted casually.

"Wait... what happened to my height? Why do my height looks leveled to Tantei-Kun?" Kaito said in horror. Conan rolled his eyes.

"Kid, you shrunk." Conan revealed, causing Kaito gasped in shock.

"That explains my height and my appearances as well. You must be Ai Haibara, also known as for the codename, Sherry." Kaito realized.

"How do you know that?!" Haibara said furiously. Kaito flinched a little.

"It's because my Ji-chan told me. My father and the organization used to be enemies. Ji-chan mentioned that one of the members, named Sherry left, then I soon realized that the Sherry girl was you." Kaito explained .

"Your father? You mean you're not the first Kaito Kid?!" Conan was shocked.

"Yes, I'm the second Kaito Kid. My only intention is to steal the Pandora Gem to prevent the Organization from gaining immortality and to avenge my father as well." Kaito answered.

"Your name?" Haibara asked.

Kaito, suddenly stopped. He was thinking.. What if he revealed his name to them? He was afraid that these guys will arrest him.

"We need to know your name. We can't help you if you don't mention your real name, and don't worry you won't get arrested." Conan red his thoughts aloud as he sighed.

"My name is Kaito Kuroba." He introduced..

"You're the son of the famous magician, Toichi Kuroba?" Conan asked curiously.

"Yes." Kaito answered straight to thr point.

Few Minutes Later..

Professor Agasa gave Kaito a new set of clothes to wear and some tracking eyeglasses to hide his true identity to anyone. Unlike Conan, he doesn't wear any wrist watch. He still had his card gun, (He changed his bullets so no one will notice the item used.)

"So, what will be your name now?" Haibara asked.

"What do you mean?" Kaito asked.

"When we shrunk, We created some aliases (other names), to hide our true identities to anyone else." Conan explained.

"Mutsuki suits fine." Kaito answered.

"Mutsuki Edogawa." Haibara smirked a little.

"What?!" Conan shouted indignantly.

"Why? First of all, you looked alike and you act like real brothers, and second you act almost the same." Haibara said seriously.

"Ughh..I hate this.." Conan groaned.

"From now on, your name will be Mutsuki Edogawa, the twin brother of Conan Edogawa." Agasa smiled as Kaito/Mutsuki took the glasses and wear it on.

"Looks like I'll be the brother to the famous Metantei-kun." Kaito smirked as Conan glared at him coldy.

"And I will be a brother to the Phantom Thief." Conan rolled his eyes as Haibara grinned.

"So Kaito will be attending Conan and Haibara's current school along with Ayumi, Genta And Mitsuhiko." Agasa said.

"Attending school really worns me off. A school full of children, this will be worst than being hit by a mop." Kaito/Mutsuki groaned.

Conan and Haibara laughed.

Even though the Pandora gem was destroyed, Kid met up with his fate. The fate of the end of his life, He was saved by his own rivals. Now, the phantom thief was long gone, but his name won't be forgotten. Kaito Kid is gone and the birth of Mutsuki Edogawa had finally happened.

The Case begins..
