Gamelover41592: Thanks
Tech-Star: Yeah I sadly don't think I'll do the Adventure Packs. I would love to do some of them, like Darklight Crypt, Empire of Ice and Mirror of Mystery, but I don't know how to fit them into the story. Might mention they happened though.
Alright, time to get the last piece of the Core of Light! Let's go!
"The Quicksilver was flowing through the Core!" Hugo gushed to the Weapons Master. "I can't believe it! Who knew that there are still remnants of the Arkeyans?" Chop Chop flinched, not that Hugo noticed. Sky reached up to put a comforting hand on his shield. Chop Chop looked down and merely gave a nod. Sky only hoped it was comforting.
"We did," The Weapons Master reminded the Mabu.
"Oh, um, well of you did," Hugo awkwardly stumbled over his words. Then he remembered that they had one more piece of the Core to find and that he had no idea where it was. Worth a shot to ask the Weapons Master. "Please! We must find the Eternal Magic Source! It's the final source we need to rebuild the Core of Light! Can you help us?"
"Yes we can," The Weapons Master answered. Everyone looked at each other eagerly. They were almost done!
"I can't believe I am speaking to a real Arkeyan!" Hugo gushed again, seemingly forgetting that Chop Chop and Drill Sergeant were standing next to him. "I thought you all had disappeared!"
"In some ways, yes, but in others, we have always been here," The Weapons Master explained. "But for now, you will find the Eternal Source of Magic locked away in our ancient armory, where you will also witness the full expanse of our civilization…of our power. Would you like to go to our armory now, Skylanders?"
"We must make haste," Eon pretty much ordered. He then turned to the two Arkeyan Skylanders. "Will you two be alright?"
"I. WILL. BE. ALRIGHT," Drill Sergeant promised. Everyone then turned to Chop Chop.
"You gonna be alright, buddy?" Ghost Roaster asked.
"I will manage," Chop Chop assured the group. Everyone was still worried, but shrugged it off. If Chop Chop said he was okay, they would believe him. The Weapons Master once again stepped aside, allowing the group to cross the chain once again.
"Whoa…" Was the only thing pretty much everyone could say when they saw the Armory. From what they could see, the platforms were all intricately designed. There was also a lot of lava, revealing that they were, once again, rather deep underground. However, much of the place was rather dark
"These caverns hold much of what is left of our once proud civilizations," The Weapons Master, once again a hologram, revealed to the group. "Restore power and you will find the Eternal Magic Source within. But be warned, Skylander. Restoring power will also awaken the ancient Arkeyan defense that has lain dormant for thousands of years.
"Right, so first things first, we gotta get the power back on," Spyro called out.
"What does this button do?" Sky asked as she pressed a nearby button.
"At last-it is time. After untold ages of darkness-LIGHT!" The Weapons Master proudly called out. The room lit up, causing everyone to shield their eyes. Once they recovered, they finally saw what the platforms they were standing on were above-MASSIVE Arkeyan robots.
"Impressive," Drobot admitted, using his headset to scan the robots. "Truly, the Arkeyans were masters of what they did, even though they did rule Skylands with an iron fist."
"Let's keep moving," Chop Chop snarled. No one was willing to contest it with him. After all, the lights were on and they were running out of time. Kaos was getting stronger by the minute, so they did need to hurry. The group made quick progress, only to hit a rather nasty roadblock.
"There's no more paths through!" Stump Smash angrily called out as he slammed one of his arms into the group.
"We could ride on one of the robots!" Sky offered, pointing to a nearby Arkeyan robot that was docked near the platform.
"...I mean, that does seem to be the only way through," Gill Grunt replied.
"I. BELIEVE. I. COULD. PILOT. IT," Drill Sergeant offered to the other Skylanders.
"If you think you can, you may do so," Eon offered. Drill Sergeant then made his way into the cockpit of the robot. After a few seconds, it came to life.
"Coooooool," Several people, including Sky, gushed as they climbed onto the robot. Once everyone was on board, Drill Sergeant headed off. There were several obstacles along the path, but Drill Sergeant easily knew what to do, switching between blasters and punching when needed. Finally, they arrived at the next platform.
"Thank you, Drill Sergeant," Eon thanked the Arkeyan, who merely gave a nod. Or at least what everyone thought was a nod.
"Beats trying to fly over the lava," Sunburn noted.
"Or trying to just get over it," Zap pointed out. Everyone nodded and decided to keep moving.
"Behold-the Eternal Magic Source," The Weapons Master declared. Everyone turned to see the Eternal Magic Source in the middle of the temple. "You will find the Eternal Magic Source in the Main Vault, at the center of our temple.
"How do we get it open?" Flameslinger asked the hologram.
"In order to unlock the Main Vault, three switches must be activated in smaller vaults," The Weapons Master began. "These vaults will require a security key card. You will find this security card somewhere in the lower level of our temple. Find it and bring it back to the main security panel.
"Well, what are we waitin' for mon?" Zook asked. "Let's get goin'!"
"What he said!" Sky ordered, causing the Skylanders to head off. They quickly found the path to the key and quickly got to work.
All but one.
"Why must this place haunt me?" Chop Chop thought to himself. He knew that the Arkyeans were monsters and that he was one of the few good ones. He believed he was the only good one for many years, at least until he met Krypt King. Even Drill Sergeant was debatable, since he was really only following that order Terrafin gave him all those years ago. Before he could dwell on his thoughts more, he heard giggles. Sky had just managed to defeat one of the robots blocking the path. If he could, Chop Chop would have smiled. She believed in him, didn't she? She knew he was good. So perhaps he could let himself relax for now.
After all, it wasn't like the Arkyeans were coming back anytime soon.
"I think I got it!" Sky called out as she held up the key.
"That is indeed the key," Chop Chop replied as he came over, patting Sky on the heavy, causing her to happily giggle.
"Well, let's get it in the panel!" Trigger Happy giggled. Needless to say, everyone agreed and wasted no time in doing so.
"You have succeeded," The Weapons Master declared. "Now deactivate the three switches within the smaller Vaults." Wasting no time, the group quickly split up and before long, the vault was open.
"We did it!" Wrecking Ball cheered, happily jumping up and down.
"All switches are now unlocked. You may now retrieve the Eternal Magic Source, the final component of the Core of Light," The Weapons Master confirmed. Everyone happily watched as the vault opened and the Eternal Magic Source floated out.
"Are you ready, Sky?" Eon asked his daughter as they walked over to the source.
"Ready, daddy!" Sky cheered as she raised her staff. Eon did the same. Finally, all the parts were theirs.
It was time to banish the Darkness.
Everyone watched as the Eternal Magic Source floated into the Core. It took a few seconds, but finally, a brilliant beam of light burst forwards from the Core of Light. The sky, which had been covered in darkness, was once again bright and blue. But everyone knew they still had one more job before they could truly consider themselves the winner.
It was time to take on Kaos.
Kaos paced the floor of his chamber, trying to come up with another way to defeat those stupid Skylanders. So focused, in fact, that he almost missed a very burnt and dazed Glumshanks walking in. "Why, what's the matter Glumshanks? You look, uh, different somehow." All Glumshanks could do was grunt, but before either could respond again, light flooded the room, causing Kaos to scream in agony. "Ahhhhh! WHAT THE-ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? GLUMSHANKS!"
"Master!" Glumshanks called back, similarly blinded by the light.
"Glumshanks!" Kaos called out again, still unable to see his servant.
"Master?" Glumshanks repeated. The duo stumbled around a bit longer, only to bump into each other, followed by Kaos shoving him away.
"Glumshanks! Get us out of here!" Kaos ordered. The light felt like it was burning. "Full speed ahead! To the outlands!" Then, he began to wail like an infant. "My darkness! My beautiful darkness!" He then realized something very important. "Well…I'm not beaten YET!"
And with that, the Core of Light is complete. Next time…it's time for the final battle, I'll see you then!
