Construct 130: Death of a Scientist
Sento?: Pandora's Box, which contains a Massive amount of energy, is finally opened. The Alien lifeform Evolt obtains its power and becomes complete. Meanwhile, Kamen Rider Build, Kiryu Sento reagins the memory of the Demon Scientist, Katsuragi Takumi.
We are Ichika…
Sento?:(hand on forehead) I'm… Katsuragi…(looks at Ichika) Katsuragi Takumi.
Ichika:(shakes head) No… Much worse…
I stare at Sento as those words exit my lips. "You are… Banjou Ichika…" Katsuragi then looks at Houki. "And Shinonono Houki." Katsuragi mutters, he stands up and gathers his surroundings. "Where am I? What happened?" Katsugari asks, Madoka and Gentoku step over. "Oi! Is teach alright?" Madoka asks, Katsuragi squints at Madoka. "Hmm? You're…" Katsuragi said as he spotted Madoka.
Evolt:(lands) Oh? Katsuragi Takumi's memories are back?
Katsuragi:(stands up) Stark!?... No, Evolt?
Evolt:(pats belt) Bingo! Phase 4 Complete! I knew Improving the details was the right way to go!(points at Everyone) Thanks to you all, I'm the complete package now!
Houki:(looks at Evolt) This is…
Ichika:(looks at Evolt) His true form… Argh!
My mind flashes back, as I see Evolt land on mars and step past a mirror with that same form standing before me. "Wh-What was that?" I muttered. Madoka and Gentoku turn to face Evolt. "Still want to fight?" Evolt asks, turning to face Madoka and Gen. "Isn't transforming again dangerous?" Evolt asks again, Me, Houki, Madoka, and Gentoku take out our transformation devices.
Evolt:(shrugs) Alright then…(puts up fists) If it's a whooping yall be wanting!
We insert our transformation devices into our belts. "Awaken!" "Akatsu Yggdrasill!" "Grease Crusher!" "Crocodile!" "Henshin!" All four of us shouted as we crank our belts. A surge of energy shocks us, but pushing through the pain our armor attaches on us as we charge Evolt. We all throw our fists at him. Only for Evolt to seemingly teleport away though a black portal. Appearing behind us, he swings his right arm blasting a wave of energy that makes my body feel incredibly heavy as we all hit the ground.
Evolt:(steps over) You think you're a fit opponent for me in your condition?
Evolt raises his right hand, as we float up into the air. Clenching his fist we all slam together before Evolt swings around slamming us into the ground. "What is this strength…?" I muttered. "What is that power?" Akatsu asks, trying to stand back up. "Oi! don't give up! It should work if we combine our powers again!" Grease said, all four of us stand up and crank our belts before we launch at Evolt and attempt to kick him. "Great Dragonic Finish!" "Yggdrasil Finish!" "Crack Up Finish!" "Crusher Break!" Our attack does not even phase Evolt.
Grease: What?! Impossible!
Evolt:(chuckles) No one can stand against me now that I'm complete.(blows riders away) Ha~!
Rogue:(lands on the ground) … Argh… Retreat for now! We need to rethink our strategy.
I glance up as Rogue points his Nebula Steam gun and covers us all in its smoke as we disappear.
We are Observers…
The fog fades with only an empty space. "Hmf. A wise decision." Evolt quickly phases back over to the Pandora box, removing the Evol Trigger from his belt and drops it into the box. The trigger links with the box as the panels of the box float in the air before folding inwards, as a new black Pandora Panel appears, replacing the previous open spot. Evolt picks up the panel and slides in two lost bottles. The former Bat and Cobra Bottles into the panel. The bottle pair changes from clear purple and silver, to black and gold. "Now I can evolve even further Beyond!" Evolt said insert two more bottles. A horse-like bottle, and a scissor bottle.
Evolt:(stands up) Hopefully, this won't take 10 parts to power up to this stage.(chuckles) Not like I'll have that power up stolen from me or something!?...(sigh) Is this what those Humans call… Testing Fate? Bah! Whatever!(looks towards sky) The final Chapter begins!
Later… We are Observers… Seito Namba Heavy Industries HQ…
A piano plays in the background, as Namba silently looks out the window of his high rise office. In the back, Utsumi watches with vigil. At the doorway to the room, stands the Kaisers, still in their armor. Evolt steps in with her armor on and carries the Pandora Box. Evolt pauses at the doorway removing the bottles and trigger from her waist, letting the Evol Driver sit on her waist. The armor fades revealing her form.
Namba:(looks over) Evolt. You possessed Tabane Shinonono again? Ha ha ha ha.
Evolt:(female voice) Not quite, Nam-chan. I no longer need a human host body. This is just an assumed form.(points at chest) I've grown oddly fond of Tabane and her meat bags.(walks past Namba) The real Tabane is still in the land of dreams.
Evolt sets down the Pandora Box and the bottles on the table at the back of the room. "From now on. I'm this country's leader." Evolt boldly states. "What do you mean by that?!" Utsumi asks. Evolt turns around and steps over to Namba. "You can continue to be the Prime Minister." Evolt said, when he quickly changed to take on Namba's appearance, with his cane and the Evol driver sitting on his waist.
Evolt:(Namba's voice) …You'll act as my puppet from now on.
Namba:(looks at Evolt) Are you making fun of the Namba Empire?(stand up) Don't speak Nonsense!
The Piano stops with a sudden sharp ugly note. Evolt smiles and returns to her Tabane look. "Please, I could kill you right now." Evolt said, patting Namba on his heart. "... But I guess this is too much of an ultimatum." Evolt said, bringing her hand onto Namba's shoulder. "I'll give you until tomorrow to decide." Evolt said, walking off towards the exit with a clear smile on her face.
Tabane:(pauses at doorway) I trust.(glances back) You'll pick the right answer… Ciao~!
Namba: …(throws cane to the ground) Ragh!
Narita Airport…
The clouds part as an aircraft begins its descent. The landing gear enters the landing position, as workers on the ground all move to their ready positions. The tires of the airplane touch the runway as the plane slows down. A smaller cart drives over and connects to the front tire of the plane before bringing it into the terminal. Watching all of this from a large window is Yamada. The docking arm connects as four ladies exit the plane. Yamada walks over to greet them.
Yamada:(smiles) Girls! It's so good to see you all again!
Cecilia:(bows) Greetings, Yamada-sensei. It is good to see you are in good health too.
Rin:(smiles) Feels good to be back in Japan!
Yamada:(looks at Rin) I can imagine. How are things over in China right now?
Rin simply shrugs. "Mostly reconstruction and re-establishing the government." She answers, Charlotte and Laura step over and bow to Yamada. "Ah, Charlotte-san, Laura-san I'm happy to see you both in good health." Yamada greets the two. "You as well." Charlotte said. Laura steps over and hands a paper report. "This a report on the UN's plans for troop movement." Laura said, Yamada takes the report and looks it over.
Yamada:(looks at Report) So… The UN really is going to move troops here in Japan.(closes report) Sigh~ At this point we need it now more than ever.
Rin:(crossing arms) Speaking of needing help. Chifuyu-sensei gave us an update on what's happening with Star- Evolt. What's happening with that?
Yamada:(looks at girls) Well, Ichika-kun has told me they managed to free Sento from Evolt but there was some kind of "Complication." I'll bring you to the cafe after you meet with the Touto Government.
Charlotte:(steps over) Then let's not delay any further. Let's go.
IS Cafe… We are Ichika.
Katsuragi:(looks in mirror) Oh no! This is what I look like now? Does this even follow the laws of physics? Oh wait, people do get face changes… But this is on a whole nother level! How does one overcome the body and chemical changes?!
Katsuragi rushes over to the smart board and begins to jot down formulas that I am not going to even begin trying to comprehend. "Hey…" Chloe taps me on the shoulder. "Does he really only have Katsuragi Takumi's memories?" She asks me. Houki and I both nod. "Yeah, he does." I answer. Sawa looks over her shoulder to look at Katsuragi.
Sawa:(turns back) …Then, the man standing in front of us is the Demon Scientist?
Katsuragi:(puts down pen) You know, it's very vexing to be called a demon.(turns to Sawa) Also note that if you are going to speak without me noticing, I'd recommend going upstairs rather than turning your back. I can still hear you.(looks at Chloe) I know about you too, Chloe Chronicle. Not only your time as a Spy for Germany, but also your time in Faust.
Everyone:(looks at Katsuragi) Eh?
Katsuragi:(crosses arms) Because I was the one who made you purify the Bottles when you were captured by Faust.(looks in mirror's reflection) It was nothing personal, without the purified Bottles, the Rider System wouldn't have worked and we would have no counter measure to Evolt.(glances at Chloe) Everything is for the advancement of science.
Ichika:(stands up) You…
Houki:(steps over) That doesn't excuse-
Katsuragi:(looks at Ichika and Houki) Also, I don't understand either of you,(points at Ichika and Houki) Banjou Ichika. Shinonono Houki.(points at Ichika) You have Evolt's Genes.(points at Houki) And you have similar but different Genetic Data as Evolt. Of the same Species of Alien I suspect. So then, I ask. Why are you two working with me?(lower hand) I tried to Destroy you and Stark.(looks at Houki) With you being next on my list.
Ichika:(steps past Katsuragi) I don't know if you have noticed. But I don't have Evolt's Memories.
Houki:(nods) Neither of us even knew we had Alien DNA in our bodies.(looks at Katsuragi) Nor do we want to destroy the world.(crosses arms) So we are not the enemy.
Katsuragi:(looks at Houki) Really? You might just be playing the fool.
Ichika:(stands up) What did you just say?
Katsuragi sighs, as he turns away. "Sigh~ Teenagers." Katsuragi mumbles, from the exit a figure steps out into view. "Katsuragi." Gentoku said as he stepped off the stairs. Katsuragi goes silent as he sees Gentoku's face. "... Himuro-san…" Katsuragi mutters, he does a double take. Looking Himuro up and down. "Katsuragi…" Gentoku said back.
Seito Namba Facility… We are Observers…
Utsumi stands before two Nebula Gas Chambers. Standing by the side of both chambers are Squall and Autumn. "You're lucky Namba still needs your services." Utsumi said, pressing a button on a console connected up to the chambers. The two hatches on the console lifts up. "Well that's too bad, looks like you need all the help you can get." Autumn said, crossing her arms. "This will power us up, right?" Squall asks, looking at Utsumi.
Utsumi:(nods) But, let me warn you.(looks at the two) Any more gas and you'll disintegrate if you are defeated.
Autumn:(glances at Squall) A one way trip, huh?...(looks at Utsumi) I'd want it no other way.
Squall:(crosses arms) This is a suicide mission. *Deep breath* *Exhale*(looks at Utsumi) No way around it.
Utsumi:(salutes) All for Namba Heavy Industries!
Autumn and Squall begin to climb in. "Whatever you say, Cyborg." Autumn said laying down. "Begin the procedure." Squall said as the chamber's door closed. Utsumi steps over to a lever and turns it. Gas fills the chamber as the two Women scream out in pain. "How lively those two must be to take the procedure twice." A female voice comments behind Utsumi. Utsumi turns to Evolt leaning against a wall with her belt strapped around her waist. "Evolt…" Utsumi mutters.
Evolt:(steps over to Utsumi) I'm friendly, I came here to visit… Well… Actually I came to talk with you.
Utsumi:(apprehensive)... What do you want?
Evolt takes out a second Evol Driver, Utsumi's eyes widen as he glances at the belt on Evolts waist and the one in her right hand. "Why do you have another Evol Driver?" Utsumi asks. Evolt simply chuckles, "Oh, that's not important. What's important is that It's made for you. Take it and come over to my side." Evolt said, Utsumi pauses, then his eyes widen at the realization of the deal. "To… Your side?" Utsumi stutters.
Evolt:(nods) It's payment for your scientific knowledge.(walks past Utsumi) Think about it. Break away from Namba, you'll find a lot more opportunity, than trying to serve that backwards skeleton of a man.
Utsumi:(clenches fist) …(turns around) STOP SCREWING WITH ME!
Evolt has long since left the room only leaving the muffled cries of pain from the two remaining Phantom Task agents in the tanks. Utsumi slams his hands on the console in front of him. "A second… Evol Driver?" Utsumi mutters, wrapping his head around the idea.
We are Gen… Downtown Tokyo, Touto…
Katsuragi and I step into the open street, the ground is covered with rubble from all of the recent fighting. "I was only gone for a year and it came to this…" Katsuragi said, taking in all of the destruction that has occurred. "I can't believe there's really a war happening." He muttered, I stepped over next to him. "It's all as you planned." I said to him, his face winced at my comment.
Katsuragi:(looks at rubble) I created the Rider System…(looks at hand) To fulfill my father's last wish to defeat the alien lifeform, Evolt.(looks at Gen) But you used it as a military weapon.
Gen:(looks at Katsuragi) I was wrong. After I was hit by the light from Pandora's Box, I viewed the whole world as an enemy. It blinded me, I wasn't myself.
Katsuragi:(looks at Gen) I don't want to hear that excuse!(turns to destroyed Guardian) No matter how you slice it, it is an undeniable fact that this great tragedy was caused by both of us.
Gen:(steps around rubble) I know, that's why I'll accept any punishment. But right now, the country no longer functions. That's why I decided to fight… to rebuild the country.
Katsuragi:(looks at Gen) Are you serious? I had no intention of creating a tool for war. But I was too late to realize what you were planning! That's why I told myself… That the Rider System was required to defeat Evolt and some sacrifices would be necessary!(puts hands on head) Were all those people I tested on were killed for nothing?!...
Gen:(looks at Katsu) …Katsuragi.
Katsuragi:(hands to the side) … ANSWER ME!? …(clenches chest) I sold my soul to the devil… I had a plan. For Mogami and Kou. But that fell apart.(looks at Gen) I failed and yet you expect me to forgive you just because NOW you admit you were wrong?!(pockets hands) I was a fool to believe you.
Katsuragi turns and walks away without another word. I'm left alone watching Katsuragi turn the corner and fade away from my sight… 'Katsuragi… I can't blame you.' Looking up at a destroyed Skyscraper, a singy feeling pierces the back of my head. 'I'm the one to blame for things getting this bad…' A silent slight escapes my lips, a vibration in my pocket pulls me out of my thoughts as I pull out my phone and see a call from a named caller. "... Utsumi?" I mutter.
We are Katsuragi… IS Cafe…
I walk down the street as I pass the rubble of a destroyed home. 'How did it get this bad?' I pondered to myself. Returning to the cafe I spot at the entrance a lone woman, waiting for someone. 'She's…' I walk over as the woman notices me. "Sento?" She asks. "Banjou Chifuyu, correct?" I ask, her eyes widen as she seems to take in my visage before collecting herself. "No, your Katsuragi Takumi." She corrects herself, I nod.
Katsuragi:(looks at Chifuyu) I do not believe we have ever met in this fashion before.
Chifuyu: …(shakes head) No, no we haven't…(deep breath) Ichika informed me of the situation not long ago. I just… Wanted to confirm for myself.
Katsuragi:(pockets hands) I see. Wish to see the Demon scientist for yourself?...
Chifuyu: I…(clenches fist) Is this what you wanted? Did you… Really-
Katsuragi:(sighs) No. I didn't want it to go this far… To full scale war.
Chifuyu:(looks down) Then… About Mogami, and Spider. If you didn't want to start this war, why didn't you tell them about it?
Katsuragi:(turns right) I did tell them… Or at least. I tired to… I sent them messages informing them of my plans. But I guess Evolt intercepted them.(rubs nose) Sigh~ I shouldn't have dragged them into this.
Chifuyu:(turns to ocean) … So, what are you going to do now?(Katsuragi glances at Chifuyu) Evolt has reached his final form, the Pandora Tower is complete, and we lost Pandora's Box again. Evolt can begin the end of the world at any time.
Katsuragi:(looks back out to ocean) He won't. Evolt has… Grown fond of Earth. At least I suspect so. I get the feeling he has too much fun toying with us. Why else would he let some things slip by. Chifuyu:(glances at Katsuragi) I hope you're right.(looks down at ground) I don't want to lose anyone else I love…
I look at Chifuyu, she holds her hand and looks off in the distance with a look of great sadness. 'When she looks at me. She looks so… Sad…' Looking back out towards the ocean. 'Evolt. He tore her family apart no doubt… No more.' Turning towards the IS Cafe I walk back towards the entrance. 'No more…' I think to myself, looking at the door I see the eyes of girls I do not recognise. I walk into the Cafe to see 5 girls standing before me. 'I recognize one, but the others I do not…' The girls look at me with both familiarity and the shyness of meeting a stranger.
Katsuragi:(looks at ladies) Greetings… And who may you all be?
Maya:(looks at Katsuragi) Se- Katsuragi-san. I am Maya Yamada, the liaison for the Touto Government.(gestures to ladies besides her) These are the IS Representives of multiple nations. They are here on behalf of the UN.
Katsuragi:(looks at IS girls) Is that right? And what does the UN plan?
Cecilia:(looks at Katsuragi) The UN is putting together a coalition of nations to land troops here in Japan to reunite the nation.
Katsuragi:(crosses arms) Is that right? A fruitless effort so long as Evolt is in power. They'd be better off nuking the nation.(steps away) Not that it would help… Hmm?
I glance down at the German girl… "You… Look like Chloe Chronicle." I said, she nods. "That is correct Katsuragi. She is my sister." She explains, I nod before my eyes fall on her IS. 'My HUD recognises the IS?... Ah. I see. The Fake personality…' I look over the girls as they seem unsure of how to talk to me. "Let me make something clear." I speak up.
Katsuragi:(looks at Girls) Whatever relationship you had to my previous self. Keep this in mind. He was just a creation of Evolt.(points at self) He never existed, this is who I am…(walks towards lab) Simple as that.
I step up to the fridge and glance back all of the girls seem so saddened all of a sudden. 'Are they so saddened by the Truth?... Nonsense.' Stepping into the lab I close the door behind me and head downstairs.
Later that night… We are Gen…
Rain pours down as I step into an empty street only lit by a pair of lamps. I step under one of the lamps as I look across at the one who called me out here. "Utsumi…" I said, looking at him. I stand alone in the rain as he stands across from me holding an umbrella that keeps him dry under the heavy rain. "Evolt wants control of Seito." Utsumi said.
Utsumi:(stares at Gen) He wants to rule in place of President Namba. But we cannot stop him alone.
Gen:(stares back) So you want us to help you?(clenches fist) You know my answer Already!
Utsumi:(steps forwards) If Evolt takes the reins, Japan might… No, the world might get destroyed! I know you don't want that!
Gen:(looks at hand) … How can I trust you?! This is all for President Namba, I know he's the one who ordered this! And how can I trust that you won't shoot us in the back IF we manage to defeat Evolt?!
Utsumi:(bites lip) … You… You can't… But.(drops Umbrella) But…(bows) Please! Lend us your aid!
"..." We both stand in the rain, in silence. Utsumi is not breaking his pose as I struggle to find the words. 'After all I have done to him… After what he did to me…' I glance down at my hand. "It's an undeniable fact that this great tragedy was caused by the both of us…" Katsuragi's words echo in my mind.
IS Cafe… We are Chifuyu…
I stare into the lab, standing right in the doorway between the bedroom and the lab. Katsuragi's back is facing towards me as he positioned his lab open to his back. Screens surround him showing all of the new armor enhancements Sento made, along with present data on the Panel Box that Sento once used. Katsuragi types away on his computer.
Katsuragi:(muttering) I must defeat Evolt. Otherwise, what did I create the Rider System for?
Chifuyu:(saddened look) … Sento…(turns away) ...
I went towards the stairs and looked at Chloe who was also watching. We both head back upstairs and into the main room. Opening the fridge door, we both exit to a room with a gloomy atmosphere. Ichika sits slowly eating ramen, Houki sits in silence cleaning a Katana, Madoka cleans his friends dog tags, Sawa and Yamada are silently drinking from Coffee cans. With the others having left already to coordinate with what's left of the Touto Government.
Yamada:(looks at Chifuyu) How was he down there?
Chloe:(steps over to table) He's just like Sento when he focuses on his inventions.
Madoka:(cleaning tags) Guess that was always a part of him.
Sawa:(stares at can) It's possible that he won't recover his memories as Sento-kun.
Ichika:(sighs) If that's the case… He'll never remember the days we spent together.
With that, the room falls silent again. The silence continues for what feels like an eternity, when the door to the cafe opens and Gentoku walks in. "Gentoku…" I said as he stepped into the building soaking wet. "Ah, I told you to go out with an umbrella tonight." Yamada said, she grabs a towel from behind the counter and walks over to Gentoku to hand him the towel.
Gen:(takes towel) Sorry… I was in a rush.
Madoka:(glances up) A rush? Where did you go?
Gen:(looks around the room) I met with Utsumi.(everyone looks up) He contacted me and explained how Namba intends to attack Evolt.(puts towel on head) Evolt's power will grow stronger over time. We have to defeat him now.
Houki:(looks at Gen) You mean we have to team up with them? The ones who caused this war?
Ichika:(scratches cheek) We don't really have much of a choice…
Madoka turns back to the tags. "I won't go." She speaks up, cleaning Akaba's dog tag. "Grease…" Chloe mutters looking over at Madoka. "Seito took my home and precious friends." Madoka said picking up a toothbrush to clean dirt off. "I don't feel like helping them." She said, as she began brushing the Dog Tag. Silence fills the room once again.
Downstairs… We are Katsuragi
I type away, using all the data I have acquired on previous Bottles and power ups into the Pandora Panel. But as I type, my mind wanders before my fingers stop. Sitting back in my chair, my mind wanders to hearing of Mogami and Kou's death. "... I'm sorry." I muttered putting my hands on my head. 'Neither Mogami or Kou got my messages.'
Katsuragi:(sighs) Mogami was supposed to find a universe where we could dump Evolt away forever… Kou was supposed to rally and gather supplies to complete the Enigma…
I look up and pull up information regarding Kou and Mogami. The Three Worlds Incident, the Nuclear Crisis from a year ago, and the attempts at destruction in the US, England, Germany, Russia, and France. With the collapse of China being the only success. The world is more divided than ever…
Katsuragi:(clenching hands together) I never wanted this to happen… Mogami… Kou… Mom, Dad… I'm sorry. I failed you… But…(puts hands on keyboard) I can fix this… I must defeat Evolt!
