This chapter contains a lot of underage drinking and mentions of recreational drug use.

The subtle humming from the neon window sign was Finn's only reminder that he was still alive in the otherwise dead store- his mind having long ago tuned out most other things as he took in every detail on a box of Cheez-its.

He was stoned. Stoned out of his damn mind.

"Tough choice huh?" A voice asked, leading Finn to slowly turn to look at its owner. His eyes widened slightly as they made contact with the emerald ones before him.

"U-uh…yeah…" he mumbled in response, finding himself lost in the encapsulating pair of eyes before him. The owner of said eyes simply smiled as she moved to brush past, causing Finn to get a nose full of her pine and lavender scent. His senses took it in and nearly captured him like a spell or a trance.

The girl's hair peeked out beneath the hood of her brown leather jacket, showing strands of dark green that led up to a lighter tone. Somehow her hair color just made her eyes even more enchanting to behold. He watched as she spoke again, barely registering what she'd said.

"H-huh?" He asked, watching as she stifled a small laugh and pointed at the shelf.

"I said the puffed Cheez-It's are pretty good. They're not quite cheese puffs, but they're a cool little alternative."

Finn let out a small gasp, his face flushing a light red. "O-oh…cool. Thanks." He responded as he reached for a box of the snack, lightly brushing up against her in the process. He almost jumped back and stumbled out an apology "S-s-sorry about t-that." He said, watching as she chuckled and lifted a hand to wave it off.

"Don't worry, it's alright." She smiled and narrowed her eyes towards him "You're either really awkward to really high…or really both." She said with a small shrug.

Finn scratched the back of his neck shyly. "Y-yeah…really both is uh…really accurate." He let out a small breath and held out his free hand. "I'm Finn by the way."

She smiled as she shook his hand "Harmony. I go by Huntress sometimes too." She explained, causing Finn to lift an eyebrow.

"Huntress? Now that's a rocking nickname." He complimented.

"Thanks, I got it from my dad. I always wanted to go hunting with him as a kid, eventually he called me his little huntress." She explained, watching as Finn smiled this time.

"Cool, did ya ever get to go?"

She nodded and pushed aside a strand of hair. "Yeah I did…turns out I liked helping animals more than I did hunting them. The nickname still stuck though." She said with a laugh before cutting him a sharp smile. "Now I just hunt those who mess with nature."

Finn was surprised, but soon chuckled at her. "That's pretty cool. Wish I had a cool nickname." He commented just as his phone vibrated in his pocket. He pulled the device out and read over the notification.

Jake, 12:53 AM: Come on bro!! Lady and Marcy are waiting on us! I can see you talkin 2 that gurl

His head shot up and whipped towards the window, watching as his older brother waved with a cocky smile. He snaked the phone back into his pocket and looked back at Harmony. "I gotta go, brothers waiting."

She nodded as she turned to grab a snack of her own. "Figured that when I saw him waving. It was nice meeting you, Finn." She said as she laid a gentle punch into his shoulder, then walked past him towards the register. Not even a full minute later, she was gone- the sound of the bell atop the door jingling as she left alerting Finn once again.

He watched for a moment as she hopped into the driver's seat of a green Chevrolet Cruze, the lights coming to life with the motor. And then, she was gone. He smiled to himself before finally going to check out.

"Sooo, who was she?" Jake asked as Finn slid into the passenger seat, handing over a pack of powdered donuts.

"Uh just a girl. She said her name was Harmony. She's like reaaallly eco-friendly. She's cool."

Jake gave him a knowing smile, causing Finn to look back in wonder.

"What?"

"She's cool eh?" His brother asked as he opened his donuts, plopping one into his mouth.

Finn sighed as he rolled his eyes at the tone, leaning his seat back and opening up his own snack. "Just drive, you were the one who didn't wanna be late right?"

Jake shrugged and backed out for he working spot, then drove out of the lot. "I'm just saying man. Should've gotten her number. You can definitely use it after…ya know."

Finn groaned as Jake spoke, pulling the white hood of his jacket over his head. "Don't even mention it.."

Jake looked over with a frown and focused on the road. "You got it bro."

It was a thirty minute drive for the brothers, which eventually led them to a long fort road beside a large mass of trees. The road itself wasn't empty, there were cars parked on either side and stretching far down. Jake parked in the nearest spot and shut off the engine, nudging Finn to awaken him.

Finn jumped up with a start as he took a look around.

"Dude we're here." Jake said in an amused tone as he opened his door and stepped out, zipping up his orange coat as he did so. The wind of the night rushed by, blowing through his Sandy blonde hair.

"Oh. Sweet." Finn smiled as he hopped out of the car and did the same, the chill of the Montana night starting to berate him. "It's through the wood line right?" He asked Jake, who'd just walked over to stand beside him- standing a few inches taller.

"Yup! Since you're a junior now, it's time to officially introduce you to Ooo High School's greatest treasure." He emphasized the last word with a massive jump. Finn snorted slightly at the gesture but began to follow when Jake walked.

"How'd you learn about this place?" He asked as they went into the trees, ducking a few low hanging branches along the way.

"Same way as you, bro. Jermaine brought me here when I became a junior last year."

Finn was confused "But Jermaine's a junior in college."

Jake nodded "I know- it was when he came back for spring break last year."

Finn's mouth made an 'O' shape upon hearing that, temporarily silencing his questions. The two walked a bit further before he could finally hear it- the sounds of music blaring throughout an empty area. The sounds of shouts and voices talking normally. The smell of food on a grill wafted through the air and invaded his nostrils, making him smile.

"We're here huh?" He asked as Jake merely looked back and smirked. He pushed two large, leaf covered branches aside to reveal the sight. It was like a small canyon in the middle of two cliffs- and it was packed with people. There were even rope bridges and different levels of the place- the levels all being naturally formed. It was a work of art, a true miracle of nature. And it was the perfect hangout spot apparently- as it was filled with teenagers.

Finn recognized many from school, noting that most were juniors or seniors save for a few stragglers. He chuckled as Jake made his way around the outer edge of the little dive, walking over to the black and gray Jeep Wrangler parked on the other side.

Finn was a bit slower as he followed, spending his time taking it all in. He saw about ten different grills set up , each with a different group dancing, eating, smoking and cooking around them.

He smiled as he finally approached, getting jostled out of his amazement by a set of fingers snapping in his face. There stood his good friend Marceline, a beer in hand. She smirked at him and took a sip from her bottle.

"Hey hey hey- there's our new favorite junior!" She commented as she fist bumped her friend.

"Hey Marcy! Hey Lady!" He called with a wave over to the blonde girl who was chatting with Jake. "So, this is where you guys would disappear to last year?" He asked as he and Marceline began to walk around.

"Yup- we call this place The Gorge. It's the perfect spot for events. Juniors and seniors come here all the time- it's flipping amazing!"

"I see. Man there's so much food out here- where do I-"

"Ah ah ah, slow down bud." She commented as she placed a hand on his shoulder, nodding back towards her truck. "Bonnie, LSP and Prismo are on the way- they're bringing a grill and some food. It's BYOFAD." She said

"BYOFAD?" He asked in confusion as she shrugged softly.

"Bring your own food and drinks. We get our own stuff with our own little set up."

"Oh…epic!! I was just about to ask where Bonnie was but I guess that answers that for me."

"Yup." She took another sip from her beer and went silent for a moment, her eyes connecting with the moon. "So Jake tells me you're ere chatting up a girl in the store earlier."

Finn shook his head in disbelief. "How did you-"

She simply shook her phone around in her hand.

Finn sighed "Of course he called you. Yeah, yeah I talked to a girl for a bit but it was no biggie. Besides, I was stoned out of my mind most of the time so- anything I felt for her was probably just weed."

"Mhmm…I'm not saying love at first sight is real, but shit similar things are possible, Finneas."

Finn's face flushed as he pulled his hood on again. "D-don't call me that, especially not in public!"

Marceline simply laughed, relishing in her torment before ruffling his hair. "Come on, let's get some drinks in you. Time to pop your Junior cherry."

He snorted and followed along. "That sounds so weird." He commented as they reached the truck, where Marceline pulled over a cooler and popped it open. She pulled out a bottle of vodka and three bottles of beer, handing one to Finn one to Lady and another to Jake. She lifted her bottle back and finished it off before fishing out a mother and starting on that.

"Now- let's do this. Gather round friends." She began as Lady pulled out several shot glasses. "Here's to Finneas Jaden Martin, the newest Junior in the group!"

Finn laughed as he was handed a shot glass, raising it up with everyone else. They touched glasses and took a shot, causing him to wince at the taste and strength of the alcohol. "Ugh.." he muttered as Marceline began to refill them.

"Hehehe you'll get used to it bro." Jake said as he patted his brothers back. Finn's eyes went wide.

"We're doing another one?" He asked as Marcy looked at him.

"Oh not yet, I'm just filling these for when everyone else gets here- so they don't know I already did the toast." She explained, leaving Finn to simply nod and awkwardly lookaside.

"Oh…makes sense." He'd said as he grimaced slightly. His chest was still burning from the first one- he definitely wasn't looking forward to the second. It didn't take long for the rest of their friends to arrive, he could see the headlights of Bonnie's pink Ford Focus coming into view now. They waved them over and out popped four, not three people.

Bonnie, LSP, Prismo and…Phoebe. The tan skinned girl awkwardly shuffled her way out of the back seat, her orange dyed hair swaying in the wind. She looked over at the group with a smile, one that faltered as she saw Finn. Finn himself looked away and simply moved over to Jake and Lady as the others walked over.

Prismo gave a small wave after setting down Bonnie's grill, then asked Finn and Jake for a hand in grabbing everything else. As they reached Bonnie's trunk, Finn finally spoke up.

"So….Phoebe's here." He said, not too sure on how to approach the topic. Prismo nodded as he lifted the cooler.

"Yeah, she wanted to tag along and Marcy figured it'd be good to give her a Junior initiation too." He explained without much care.

Finn let out a small sigh as he heard this, watching as Jake slammed the trunk shut. Prismo looked over to the two with a frown. "I'm sorry Finn, we just hadn't thought much about any…awkwardness it would cause."

Finn merely shook his head and gave the brunette boy a half-hearted smile. "It's cool P. She's still our friend after all..I won't get too weird about it." He promised as the three boys walked back over to the rest of the group.

Prismo returned the smirk, even though he wasn't fully sure. From there the group set up their spot and took another toast (though to the other half it was their first toast.)

They sat up there for an hour enjoying each others' company and the music being played before Finn decided to go for a walk.

"Don't go too far, and yell if anything happens." Jake called over to his brother as he began to walk off. Finn gave a thumbs up, though he didn't feel he'd need it. Finn had been taking kickboxing and fencing classes since he was like ten, he was pretty confident in himself.

Once again, the sixteen year old pulled his hood over his head. He shoved his hands into his pockets and began his walk, stumbling slightly from the alcohol in his system. A small laugh escaped his lips as he recalled the events of the night so far. And he couldn't help but smile as he remembered the girl from the store earlier. She was really cool.

After a few minutes of wandering alone into the wood line, Finn found himself becoming a bit lost. The light from the cars and the fires had become a bit dim, much to his dismay. He let out a sigh but felt a sense of relief. They were dim, but not out of view- that meant he was atleast going in the right direction now.

He walked for a bit further and finally exited the tree line, finding himself on the opposite side of The Gorge- across from his friends. "Frak…" he muttered silently as he started to circle back around. He'd passed by a few stray rocks and even some small formations on the outer edge of the ring along the way. And then he paused and backtracked. {What the heck was that?} he'd asked himself as he turned back towards the rocks.

There, atop one of the higher pens was the silhouette of a figure. They're back seemingly turned away from him- and away from the large party going on. Finn took interest and decided to have a closer look. He'd figured if things go bad, he'll just defend himself. If they go good, he may make a new friend.

As he reached the other side of the rock and finally saw the figure, he gasped softly.

"Oh hey, it's you." She said with a knowing smile. Finn smiled back.

"Yeah- Harmony! I didn't expect you to be out here too." He said as he walked a bit closer, staring up at her.

"Yeah, the Gorge is just a few miles from my house. Figured I'd take some time to see what the fuss was about. S'cool." She said as she uncrossed her legs and jumped down, landing perfectly on her feet.

{She's so cool…} Finn thought as he stepped a bit closer. "Uh…you wanna come hang with my friends?" He asked.

She thought it over for a moment. "I dunno…the squirrels are pretty chill over here." She commented, leaving him a bit confused. She then sent a cocky smile his way, causing him to laugh.

"Well, my friends are a bit nutty, but they're pretty cool too."

"Hmm…alright. I'd like to meet them then." She said, deciding to follow him along.

Oh the things that can start from one Saturday night.
