Usagi stood in front of the mirror staring at her reflection. Her tear streaked face and puffy red eyes gave evidence that all was not well within her world at that moment. The sound of her guardian's voice echoes loudly within her ears.
"Don't worry Usagi-chan. You and Mamoru will be back together once more because it is written within the stars."
Usagi lets a small sneer come to her features. The look is completely foreign upon the young girl's usually chipper face.
'Destiny! I am so tired of hearing that word. If it's destiny that he hurts me again and again then I don't want this destiny!' Her last thought is yelled within her mind as she slams a hand against the wall beside the mirror.
So many years has passed since she had met, Mamoru. Time and again he had done this to her. Always stating that he needed time. First it was to find the girl from his dreams and then it was because of a dream. He went to America and left her behind, but after each time she took him back at the urging of her "Guardian", who would state that it was her destiny to be with him.
After all those years had passed Usagi is now going through college along with her friends and her love, but once again her supposed Prince had left her for the, she had lost count, time, stating that he needed time to reflect upon their relationship and that was all the explanation he gave before he once again walked out of her life, like so many times before.
She was hurt, but mostly angry with his "supposed" knowledge that she would just wait for him to take her back. She, for lack of better terms, felt like his door mat. Her face twisted into a grimace at the thought.
She looks back at her feline guardian who is currently sleeping on her bed in the other room before she turns her head back to the mirror and picks up the knife that she has laid on the bathroom sink.
'Well let's see what destiny makes of this!' She thinks bitterly as she raises the knife up and drives it up through her hair.
The once long blond hair comes off in her hand, the knife making a soft hiss through the hair as some stray strands of hair float gently into the sink.
On the other side of town a woman shoots straight up in her bed, her eyes open widely in shock as an immense energy wave washes over her. She blinks and smiles slightly to herself.
"So it has begun? Well it's about time," she whispers to herself, laying down and snuggles back within her pillows the smile still ghosting upon her lips.
Usagi stretches her arms up into the air and smashes her hand against the clock radio that's currently buzzing insistently next to her upon the night stand. She runs her fingers through her hair as she turns her sleep filled eyes towards the clock and lets out a small groan, flopping back down against her pillows.
She chuckles slightly to herself wondering when exactly she started to wake up with the alarm instead of sleeping through it like she used to do when she was younger. She turns her head towards the far wall and stares at the sheets of paper that are scattered upon the walls with her current and old sketches of manga characters. After reading so many of the books, her love for them turned into her drawing them for a side job for some extra spending money while in college. Never in her wildest dreams did she ever think that they would become so popular with the public.
She stretches once again then slips her legs out from under the covers and sits on the edge of the bed with her arms resting upon her knees. Reflecting upon the night before, Usagi realizes that she doesn't feel any different than before. Still the pain of what Mamoru had done plays havoc with her mind and heart.
Turning her head upon hearing a gasp, Usagi sees Luna staring at her with wide eyes. Frowning the girl wonders what the cat could be looking at with such a horrid look upon the feline's features.
"Usagi-Chan, what have you done?" The cat screeches.
The blonde blinks only to run her fingers through her hair when she notices what the guardian is looking at and let's a small smile come to her face. 'So it wasn't a dream. I actually did it then.' The girl muses to herself the smile becoming wider.
"Did you hear me, baka? I asked a question, Usagi-Chan," Luna questions her young charge who is currently grinning like a fool.
Usagi continues to run her fingers through her hair, smiling the entire time before looking towards the guardian.
"Something I should've done a long time ago, Luna-Chan," Usagi replies and gets up from the bed, leaving a very baffled Luna in her wake.
"Are you sure she'll be awake, Ruka?" Michiru asks as she flips her hair over her shoulder waiting with Haruka outside of Usagi's apartment door.
"Of course I'm sure, Michiru. She's been getting up at this hour for years now. She's not going to revert back to her younger years unless it's the weekend," Haruka answers her fiancé's question with a smile upon her lips.
"Well you know how she's been since the other night when Mamoru dropped his little bomb upon the Princess. She might be trying to forget about it by sleeping in. Remember what happened all the other times he's done this?" Michiru asks the sandy haired woman whose face twists into a scowl at the mention of the Princess's ex-fiancé's name.
"Yeah well, he's damn lucky he took off when he did, otherwise I would've given him a piece of mind or two," she mumbles, her knuckles popping from clenching them so hard into fists.
"Calm down, Ruka. I think you'll get your chance at some point. Not point in dwelling upon it now," Michiru states with a slight laugh when she remembers the look upon Mamoru's face when he had saw Ruka coming for him. "He's just lucky that there was a lot of traffic that day you saw him across the street."
Haruka just nods her head at the other woman's comment before knocking upon the door to the Usagi's apartment. They wait in silence for Usagi to open her door for them.
