A/N: This story is a sequel to my fics 'Tragedy' and 'Triumph' and a spiritual sequel to my story 'The Last Sailor War a.k.a. Sailor Moon: The End'.
The Librarian knew better. She had a lot of work to do, and very little time to do it in. She and her family needed to get home and dress for that evening's New Year's Eve party.
It was a prospect she was looking forward to. War. Disease. Political and economic strife. By any measure, it had been an arduous year, one that felt more like a century. She was more than prepared to bid farewell to the year and move forwards into a new one with a fresh start.
But, before she did, there was something she had to do. An entry she simply had to read from the celestial archives before year's end…
Just when Sailor Chaos was on the cusp of annihilating the universe entire, Sailor Cosmos called for aid from across the multiverse, summoning versions of herself from parallel universes.
Together, they formed the Lunar Legion and did battle with Chaos and her own forces, the Chaos Clan. With their powers combined, the Lunar Legion defeated Chaos once and for all, each and every one of them going on to live happily ever after.
And thus, Sailor Moon, for the very last time, proved to us that no matter how dark the night is, the day will always come.
The Librarian stared at her words for a long while.
She had written it herself so very, very long ago. And yet, reading it again, reminded her of the truth. The truth that, for all the woes this year had brought, hope for the new year, for new life, would spring…
"Eternal," she said, tapping her finger on the image of Sailor Cosmos.
With that, she shut off the computer and made haste for home. She had a lot of celebrating to do.
A/N: HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
