As with my 'Sailor Mars and Martian Manhunter: Hero Team Up!' story, I decided to do another Sailor Moon crossover with another comic book character. This time, I decided to do Thor from Marvel comics with Makoto Kino/Sailor Jupiter.
Please enjoy!
Japan
It was another busy day in the city of Tokyo. The sun was shining brightly in the blue sky above, the air was moderate, filled with the sounds of vehicles passing by and people talking. But what many people didn't know was that this town, and this country in general, was the battle ground between good and evil. Every so often, mysterious & evil beings would manifest to do harm to innocent people... but when they do, the Sailor Scouts will always arrive in time to deal with them and save the day!
But today, one particular Sailor Scout will face an evil unlike any she had faced before... and an unlikely ally she never thought was real.
...
Makoto Kino was casually strolling through a busy sidewalk, passing different people and different people passing her as they went on with their everyday lives. With school being over, she thought of relaxing herself by going to her favourite mall and playing some arcade games. Before she met Usagi and her friends, and became a Sailor Scout herself, going to the arcade was about the most enjoyable time she had - along with baking and cooking food.
Makoto's daydreaming was abruptly stopped when a terrified man ran past her, startling her. "Hey! Can you please watch where you're going, sir?" She asked, clearly annoyed by the man's recklessness.
"The mall is on fire!" He cried out as he continued running without looking back.
"What?!" Makoto cried out in disbelief before turning and running into the opposite direction the man was running from.
After making several quick turns in specific directions, she stopped and stood before a sight that she could only describe as being one of her worst nightmares.
Black smoke and soot were rising from the mall she was planning on visiting. The same mall she met and befriended Usagi Tsukino, Ami Mizuno, Rei Hino & Luna was now engulfed in flames, as more and more carbon was continuously pumped into the air due to the raging fire. What's even worse, Makoto saw terrified people screaming and running from the entrance of the burning mall.
Stopping a nearby woman who appeared to be in her late 30s and who was also running from the blazing building, Makoto asked: "What happened in there?"
"I don't know, but I think someone started a fire inside the mall." The woman answered, her voice filled with panic. "And think there's still people inside!"
The moment those words entered her ears, Makoto immediately let go of the woman and began running towards the burning building, ignoring the woman's cries to not go in. If there were still people trapped in the burning mall, she cannot let them perish. As a Sailor Scout, she could not let innocent civilians die on her watch!
Makoto Kino soon entered burning mall; despite the people she ran past telling her not to. And as soon as she was inside, Makoto felt like passing out from the overwhelming heat that was inside the building and the lack of oxygen from the fire. When she opened her eyes, all she saw was uncontrollable flames everywhere, filling up and burning every corner of the huge mall. Any and all plants were little more than ash, different shopping stores were full of fire and any belongings inside burned to a crisp - and most disturbing of all, Makoto saw the burned bodies of the many people who were unable to escape this inferno.
"Who could have done this?" Makoto thought to herself out loud. This couldn't have been an accident. This could only be the work of a group of psychopathic arsonists armed with flamethrowers.
All of the sudden, Makoto saw the silhouette of what she presumed to be a still-living person present amides the raging flames. She was about to call out to them, but her words caught in her throat when she saw that the figure had a long, lizard-like tail waving back and forth.
Then, the figure suddenly turned its head to her direction and looked directly at her with a pair of bright glowing eyes that lacked in pupils.
Frightened, Makoto took a step back as the figure emerged from the flames and allowed her to take a good, long look at the perpetrator responsible for this arsenic crime. Standing at 8 feet tall, the humanoid creature's body was both muscular and elegant at the same time as it towered over Makoto. Its whole body was dark in colour, as if covered by soot, and completely engulfed in flames, from head to toe. Two jagged horns protruded from the top of its head, while its face (or lack-thereof) was dominated by a pair of yellow glowing eyes that lacked pupils; there was no nose, no mouth, or no ears. Its legs resembled the hind legs of an ungulate, complete with a pair of hooves in place of feet. And finally, a long, lizard-like tail that rested on the ground was present behind.
Despite having faced many monsters and evil beings as a Sailor Scout, Makoto could feel an overwhelming evil presence from this creature that stood before her, staring at her with murderous intent in its eyes.
"Who and what are you?!" She demanded. "You're responsible for this fire and killing all these people, aren't you?!"
"Indeed, I am." The being somehow spoke despite not having visible a mouth. His voice was masculine and extremely deep. "And you, too, shall join them, mortal!"Much to Makoto's shock, a long-handled axe - resembling a Dane axe from Scandanavian descent - manifested in the monster's right hand out of thin air. The axe appeared to be made out of hardened magma, and its length matched its wielder's height. "For I am Pyranus!"With a loud war cry, the being now known as Pyranus lifted his weapon over his head and slammed the blade of his axe down on the ground, causing cracks to form and spread in Makoto's direction.
Thankfully, Makoto jumped out of the way as the ground where she was previously standing on erupted upwards in flames.
"Jupiter Crystal Power! Make Up!" Makoto called out as she pulled her Jupiter Crystal and begins transforming. Electricity erupted from the girl's form, forming a sort of electrical cage around her as her civilian clothes were replaced by a sailor-styled uniform similar to her previous one. Her outfit was now mostly white, with the exception of her scarf, boots, skirt, choker, and end of the sleeves on her gloves, which were all green. The two bows located on her chest and rear were pink. A golden tiara was present on her forehead, with a green-coloured gem in the middle.
Makoto Kino had become Sailor Jupiter!
"Pyranus! For all the crimes you have committed, burning this building and kill these people, I, Sailor Jupiter, will make you pay!" Sailor Jupiter declared.
The fiery being threw his head back in laughter. "Hahaha! So, you have a few tricks up your sleeve, do you, mortal? Too bad it will all be for naught." Grabbing his axe with both hands, Pyranus gave her an invisible grin. "Do your worst! It will falter before my flames!"
"We'll see about that!"
"Supreme... Thunder!" Sailor Jupiter called out as the antenna on her tiara rises. Then, a bolt of lightning seemingly manifests from thin air and strikes down, which appeared to be absorbed by the antenna of Jupiter's tiara. Then, Sailor Jupiter propelled the lightning bolt from her antenna and toward her target. It struck Pyranus squarely in the chest, and the damage it did was evident when the flaming monster took a step back in pain.
When the attack ceased, Sailor Jupiter saw that Pyranus still standing, albeit now having a scratch on his chest.
"Argh! Well, you seem to have a bite behind that bark, after all." The fire demon mused, looking at his 'wound' before turning his gaze to the shocked Sailor Scout. "But alas, your attack failed to inflict any significance damage to me!"
"What kind of a monster is he? My attack didn't do much damage to him!" Sailor Jupiter thought in disbelief.
"Well then, it would seem that it is my turn now." Grabbing the handle of his flaming axe with both hands, Pyranus leaped into the air and raised the blade of his weapon over his head as he descended down on the shocked Sailor Jupiter, who quickly preformed a back-flip to avoid the head of the axe as it struck down, burying its blade into the ground. Unfortunately, as soon as Sailor Jupiter appeared to be a safe distance away, Pyranus suddenly raised his hand and unleashed a wave of fire from his palm at the Sailor Scout. Knowing she cannot escape this attack with another athletic back-flip, Sailor Jupiter opted to allow herself to fall on her back, ignoring the pain of hitting the hard surface as she was mere inches from the deadly wave of fire that nearly cooked her alive.
When the flame dissipated, Jupiter found herself laying by Pyranus' hooves, his axe raised over his head and ready to strike down on her body. "You fought well for a mortal. But of course, mortal power such as yours cannot hope to match that of a fire demon from Muspelheim!"The monster declared. The name 'Muspelheim' somehow sounded familiar to Sailor Jupiter, but she did not have time to think too much about it for Pyranus was about to slice her in half with his axe. "Farewell, 'Sailor Jupiter'!"
Makoto could only stare up in wide-eyed horror, helpless to escape or fight back. But before the fire demon could bring his weapon down and cleave her body in half, a relatively-small hammer suddenly came flying faster than a speeding bullet as it smashed itself into Pyranus' chest, sending both itself and the flaming monster crashing in the opposite direction - specifically, it sends them crashing into a shopping store, destroying it.
Sailor Jupiter stared at the scene in shock, unable to believe what she just saw. Who just saved her?
"You dare threaten innocent lives while I still live, abhorrent creature?" A male voice said from behind Sailor Jupiter, prompting her to look behind... and see someone that was dressed... rather oddly, to say the least.
A very tall and muscular man with long blond hair & blue eyes was standing at the entrance of the burning mall. But it was how he was dressed that truly caught Sailor Jupiter's eyes: the man wore a black armour with four silver circles located on his chest and a red cape that nearly reached the ground. He wore blue tights and tall golden shoes, while a golden belt was wrapped around his waist - and finally, he wore a silver, winged helmet.
In short, this man was dressed like a Viking or some deity from Norse mythology. Was he perhaps cosplaying, Jupiter wondered.
The man turned to the Sailor Scout and gave her a gentle look. "Are you alright, young lady?" He asked as he walked over to her before extending a hand. Still not quite sure what was going on, Sailor Jupiter nevertheless took his hand as he helped her up her feet.
"Y-Yes! I'm fine. Thank you." Sailor Jupiter smiled, appreciating this man's timely arrival.
The man smiled back, seeing that the girl is alright. Both turned back to see where man's weapon (a hammer) sent the flaming monster into the shopping store. Sure enough, the 8-foot-tall fiery demon emerged from the burning rubble, now looking more irritated from the sudden attack.
"Ahh. I thought you'd show your face sooner or later, Thor." Pyranus hissed.
"Wait. Thor?!" Sailor Jupiter thought in shock as she looked back at the man who saved her. Was this man... actually the God of Thunder from Norse mythology? But that couldn't be. What would a deity from Norse mythology be doing in Japan? Come to think of it, Pyranus mentioned that he was a fire demon from Muspelheim, a realm from Norse mythology.
"Has Surtur sent you here?" Thor demanded.
"Nay. I came to Midgard under my own accord." Pyranus said. "I have come to spread death and misery in the name of Muspelheim! Mortal kind shall tremble before my flames! Though, if I am being truly honest, I did this to draw you out of hiding and test your weapon against my power, Odinson."
"If it is the power of Mjölnir you wish to test, I shall gladly oblige." Thor said as he raised his hand. Reacting almost purely out of instant, Pyranus quickly jumped upwards to avoid Thor's hammer coming at him from behind, where it flew straight to its owner's waiting hand. Sailor Jupiter saw that Mjölnir was a large, square-headed grey sledgehammer, with a short, round handle wrapped in brown leather, culminating in a looped lanyard.
Sailor Jupiter couldn't believe this. This truly was the legendary God of Thunder battling a fire demon from Muspelheim!
"Have at thee!" Gripping the handle of his hammer with both hands, Thor charged at Pyranus, who, with a tight grip on his axe, charged at the Thunder God! The moment the two weapons clashed with one another; they produced a massive shockwave that put out most of the flames around their respective owners. Sailor Jupiter was nearly blown away by the force of their clash. With another yell, Thor swung his hammer sideways, only for Pyranus parry his attack with the blade of his axe. The two exchanged blows with their respective weapons several times, with Thor ducking down to avoid a swing from Pyranus' exe before striking the fire demon in the stomach with his magical hammer, sending him flying and then crashing into a nearby wall.
"What power!" Sailor Jupiter thought an awe as she watched the battle between a god and a demon.
"Have I satisfied your curiosity, yet?" Thor asked, readying himself for another round.
"You are not called the 'God of Thunder' for nothing, it seems." Pyranus commented as emerged from the hole in the wall that was made when Thor sent him flying into. "But I am not yet done with you." After saying this, the magma axe that the fire demon held disappeared into thin air. Thor and Jupiter watched as Pyranus preformed yet another act of a weapon appearing in his hand. This time, it was a katana sword from Japan's Edo Period.
"What? You can create a katana, too?" Sailor Jupiter asked in disbelief.
"That's right. I can manifest any weapon in my hands I desire; whether it'd be a sword, an axe, a spear, or a mace." Pyranus turned to the Sailor Scout. "And I must say, the weapons from your 'Edo Period', as you call it, are most interesting."
Makoto couldn't believe what she was hearing. Were creatures from Norse mythology present in Japan at some point in the past? This whole situation as is seemed unrealistic, and this was coming from a person who is a reincarnation of a warrior of the Moon Kingdom.
"It matters not how many weapons you summon. You will fall to Mjölnir regardless!" Thor stated as visible electricity began emanating from his hammer.
"Is that so?" Pyranus asked, almost amused. "Then let us see if you live up to your claim!"
"Aye. With pleasure."
With another loud yell, both combatants charged at each other once more! Despite his large size (being 8 feet tall), Pyranus was surprisingly agile and nimble as he was able to dodge all of Thor's powerful strikes. This was likely because the fire demon now wielded a far smaller, but equally-lethal weapon that had less mass. The Thunder God was growing frustrated with not being able to land a single blow on his opponent ever since manifesting this new weapon. Out of frustration, Thor threw Mjölnir at Pyranus, who effortlessly jumped over the speeding hammer and began racing towards the now-unarmed Asgardian. Thor immediately extended his hand, causing the hammer to reverse its trajectory and start racing back for Pyranus as he was racing towards the Thunder God.
However, Pyranus knew what Thor was up to, and, as soon as he was no more than 2 feet from the Asgardian, quickly jumped again to avoid the speeding Mjölnir striking him from behind. But as soon as the magical hammer was back in Thor's hand, the fire demon landed on the ground and immediately swung his katana with such precision that it cut deep into Asgardian's fingers that were tightly wrapped around the handle of Mjölnir.
"Ahh!" Thor yelled in pain as he was forced to drop his weapon to the ground and clench is hand in pain.
Taking advantage of this, Pyranus landed a left-hook punch to Thor's face, sending him flying into another wall, where he crashed, making a large whole in the process.
"You are not so strong without your little hammer, are you, God of Thunder?" Pyranus mockingly asked and began to slowly advance towards the Asgardian.
Sailor Jupiter was watching the fight with awe and disbelief. Pyranus was incredible skilled with the way he was using his katana, on par, or perhaps even better than a professional Samurai who's had decades of experience to hone his skill. She wanted to help Thor. She wanted to stop this monster. But her initial attack didn't do much damage to the fire demon. Perhaps if she uses-
Jupiter's contemplation on how to help her new alley stopped when she spotted Mjölnir laying on the ground, and a new thought came to mind. Could she… perhaps use the Thunder God's weapon?
Seeing that Pyranus still had his attention focused on the God of Thunder, slowly advancing towards the injured Asgardian, the Sailor Scout quickly made her way to the mystical hammer and knelt down. That is when she saw words written on the hammer's head.
*Whosoever holds this hammer, if he or she be worthy, shall possess the power of Thor.*
Sailor Jupiter hesitated for a moment, wondering if she herself would qualify as worthy. But regardless, she needed to do something or else the fire demon will likely kill Thor, then her, and then whatever people he could find, which will likely include her fellow Sailor Scouts and friends eventually.
She had to try.
"I must say, Thor Odinson, I am very underwhelmed by how our little scuffle turned out." Thor looked up to see Pyranus standing over, brandishing his katana. "Although, I'll have you know that I am an elite among the fire demons. Second only to Surtur himself."
"Don't think you've won just yet, demon." Thor said, narrowing his eyes before rising his left hand. "I still have-Ahh!" The Asgardian yelled as Pyranus slashes at the palm of his left hand with his katana.
"There. Without your hands, you cannot use your weapon anymore." Pyranus stated and raised his katana over his head, the sword's sharp tip pointed at the Thunder God's abdomen area. "Say 'hello' to Hela when you see her."
Before the fire demon could plunge his sword into Thor's stomach to deliver the killing blow, he was suddenly struck in the right side of his body from behind, sending him flying away from Thor and crashing into yet another fiery wall. The Asgardian turned and his eyes widened at what he was seeing: Sailor Jupiter was standing before him with Mjölnir in her hand, visible electricity coursing through her body.
"Odin's beard…" Thor breathed out in awe at the sight. "Mjölnir has deemed you… worthy to wield?"
"I guess it does." Sailor Jupiter replied, unsure herself at being worthy to wiled a mystical weapon of the God of Thunder. She could feel her power having skyrocketed since touching the mystical hammer, it easily surpassed her Sailor Scout power completely.
"Who are you, exactly?" Thor couldn't help but ask in curiosity.
"To keep a long story short, I'm one of the reincarnations of the four guardians of the Moon Kingdom." Makoto said, unsure if a deity from Norse mythology would be familiar with the Moon Kingdom, the Negaverse or the Sailor Scouts.
"The Moon Kingdom?" Thor asked in disbelief as his eyes widened in shock, remembering something that his father regretted failing to do. "You mean… the people of the Moon Kingdom still live?"
Now it was Makoto's turn to give the Asgardian her own look of astonishment. "You know about the Moon Kingdom?" She asked.
"Aye." Thor nodded as he got up and gave the Sailor Scout a sad look. "Queen Serenity… was a friend of Odin and Frigga, my father and mother."
"Your parents knew Queen Serenity…?" Sailor Jupiter asked in disbelief, thousands of questions were running through her mind right now. Unfortunately, this quiet moment between the two was interrupted when both heard the sound of a fiery explosion, followed by the roar of the Pyranus as the fire demon emerged from a wall of flames, katana in hand.
"If you two are about done licking your wounds, I would like return to my fun." Pyranus said, more annoyed than anything else.
"We're gonna have to continue this conversation after we're done dealing with this monster." Sailor Jupiter said, offering the Asgardian his weapon back.
"Aye." Thor nodded and took Mjölnir. Thanks to his Asgardian physiology, the wounds Pyranus inflicted on his hands have already healed and were as good as knew. "And believe I've come up with a plan to defeat this wretched demon."
"I'm all ears." Sailor Jupiter said as she got into fighting position.
"I shall create storm to douse the fire and weaken him. For the time being, you must distract the fire demon." The Thunder God explained and looked at the Sailor Scout. "Can you do that?"
"I'll do my best." Makoto said, giving the Asgardian a confident smile.
"Then let us make haste." With those words, Thor spun his hammer around rapidly before hurling it upwards whilst holding onto its leather lanyard, allowing himself to be pulled upwards by Mjölnir's might. Thor flew higher and higher, until he finally broke through the glass ceiling and emerged outside in the sky, where he hovered over the burning mall by spinning his hammer like a helicopter propellor.
Meanwhile, back inside the mall, Sailor Jupiter resumed her solo battle with Pyranus.
"Jupiter… Thunderclap!" Sailor Jupiter harnessed electricity through her lightning antenna, clasped her hands together before spreading them apart at an angle. Harnessing the element of electricity between her palms, Sailor Jupiter created and threw a spinning disc of electrical energy towards the fire demon.
"Argh!" Pyranus roared in pain as the electrical disc struck him in the chest, causing powerful electricity to surge throughout his body and make him fall down on one knee. "This attack was stronger than you last one, I admit." The fire demon said.
"If you think that attack hurt, I'm just getting started!" Sailor Jupiter said with a confident smile.
"Show me." Pyranus said as he charged at the Sailor Scout, readying his katana for a sideways swipe to slice her in half. Sailor Jupiter managed to act fast enough dodge the lethal strike by back-flipping over swing of the katana, delivering a kick to the fire demon's chin in the process, before landing to safety.
"Ouch!" Makoto yelped and grabbed her foot in pain, having burned it slightly from touching the fiery demon. "If Sailor Mars were here, I doubt her attacks would have worked on this monster." She thought to herself, seeing as Rei's fire-based attacks would be useless against such a foe.
"What's wrong, mortal? Did you hurt your little foot after kicking me?" Pyranus mockingly asked. "Get used to it. Because when I'm done with you, all you'll be feeling is-"The fire demon was stopped mid-sentence when the roaring sound of thunder was suddenly heard from outside. Looking up through the hole in the ceiling Thor made, Pyranus' pupiless eyes widened when he saw the sky above him darkening as dark clouds begin coming together and blocking out the view of the sky and sun's light. A thunderstorm had begun forming directly over the still-burning mall, its presence condensing the moisture in the atmosphere, causing heavy rain to shower down on the burning mall.
"No!" Pyranus hissed, as he his burning form was showered by the rain, which was proving incredibly painful to him given his nature.
Sailor Jupiter was amazed by the sight of this – and by Thor's power. He was truly living up to his title as the God of Thunder! And sure enough, the rainfall he was creating had already started putting out and dousing much of the flames that once engulfed this entire mall.
Then, up from the heavens, a powerful bolt of lightening came down from the sky, going through the hole in the glass dome of the roof Thor made, and directly striking Pyranus with all its natural fury. The fire demon cried out in pain from the electric shock, and fell to his knees, grunting in pain.
"Young lady!" From above, Sailor Jupiter heard Thor's voice loudly. "If you can I hear my voice, you must leave this building at once! I will strike the fire demon with all my might, and I fear this building will not hold when I deliver this decisive blow! Now go!"
Heeding the Thunder God's warning, Sailor Jupiter said "Got it!" before she quickly turned and began racing towards the exit of the mall as fast as she possibly could.
"Oh, no you don't, mortal!" Pyranus raised his hand to shoot another stream of fire at the Sailor Scout, only to be stopped when another, more powerful bolt of lightning came down from the hole in the glass ceiling to strike him. "Ahhhh!" The fire demon yelled in pain and ceased the attack he was preparing. He could only watch as Sailor Jupiter exited the building.
The fires that were abundant and nearly everywhere in this place had already started shrinking and disappearing thanks to the heavy rainfall the God of Thunder had created. And speaking of the Asgardian
"Pyranus!"
The fire demon looked up, only for his eyes go wide with shock when he saw Thor descending down from the hole in the glass ceiling he created. Gripping his mighty hammer - which was sparking with visible electricity – tightly in his hands and holding it over his head, the Asgardian yelled at the top of his lungs as he descended towards his flaming opponent, ready to bring Mjölnir down on Pyranus' head. Once the Thunder God finally entered the final floor where his opponent was standing, aiming his weapon directly at the fire demon's head, Pyranus narrowed his eyes and raised his katana in hopes of blocking the incoming Mjölnir with it.
Time seemed to slow down as the moment of truth came when Thor brough Mjölnir down, and the mystical hammer impacted the katana. Pyranus' eyes widened in horror when his katana was shattered to pieces by the mighty hammer, which was now coming for his head!
.
Outside, Sailor Jupiter had ran far enough away from the mall to not get caught by the shockwave of Thor's attack – or so she thought.
Jupiter was completely unprepared by the sheer magnitude of the shockwave that came bursting from the building and towards her, knocking her on her back. The shockwave then spread upwards and throughout the whole mall, breaking every single remaining glass in an instant! Due to the infrastructure of the mall already having been severely damaged from the fire, Sailor Jupiter watched as the whole mall collapsed in on itself, crumbling to the ground and being reduced to nothing but a pile of rubble.
"Wow…" Sailor Jupiter breathed out in awe. Thor was not kidding when he said that the building will likely not stand when he delivers his final blow. The Sailor Scout stared at the massive pile of rubble intently, scanning for any signs of the God of Thunder or the fire demon. After scanning for roughly a minute or two, there was no movement, and she was considering on calling her friends.
But all of the sudden, a hand holding Mjölnir bursted up the rubble, electricity sparking around the hammer. Sailor Jupiter watched in awe as the God of Thunder slowly made his way out of the rubble and stood up, his cape flapping in wind as a bolt of lightening struck directly behind him.
"Thor! You did it!" Sailor Jupiter exclaimed in relief and joy at seeing the Thunder God alive and well.
The God of Thunder smiled at the Sailor Scout and began making his way down from the pile of rubble and towards her. "Aye. That fire demon was strong, but he was a fool if he thought that his weapon could match the power of Mjölnir."
"That was quite the attack you did back there." Sailor Jupiter complemented, looking at Thor's handy work.
"Aye. It was quite eye-catching scene, wasn't it?" The Asgardian smiled proudly.
Suddenly, both the Sailor Scout and the Asgardian heard the sound of movement in the rubble, prompting both of them so shift their attention at the pile of rubble. Their eyes widened with shock when they saw the fire demon, Pyranus, emerge from the rubble as well. Except he was now in a weakened state, which was noticeable as the flames that continually sheathed his body had diminished significantly, thanks to the ongoing rainfall weakening him by the second.
"Darn you, Odinson! And you too, mortal!" Pyranus cursed as he glared daggers at the duo. "This isn't over. One day, all of Muspelheim will be coming for your heads! Surtur will burn both Asgard and Midgard to ashes!"
"That won't happen, Pyranus!" Sailor Jupiter stated firmly.
"I will give my life to protect Asgard and Midgard!" Thor added. "My father bested Surtur before. He will do it again!"
"And you won't hurt anyone, anymore! You ready Thor?" Sailor Jupiter asked, to which the Asgardian nodded.
"Aye. Let us properly destroy this demon!" With that, Thor lifted Mjölnir in the air before summoning a bolt of lightening to strike down and be absorbed into his hammer. At that same time, the antenna on Sailor Jupiter's tiara extended up as she, too, summoned her own lightning bolt to be absorbed into it.
"Supreme… Thunder Dragon!" The Sailor Scout spread her arms and unleashed a beam of electrical energy that took the shape of an Eastern dragon and raced towards the weakened fire demon. At the same time, Thor aimed Mjölnir at Pyranus and fired his own beam of electricity from his magical hammer. The duo's respective electric beams travelled side-by-side as they raced for Pyranus. The fire demon cried out in pain when both beams struck him at the same time with all their might and fury! His cries of pain lasted for only a few seconds as he was disintegrated and reduced to dust by the combined power of the two electricity-wielding beams.
After all was said and done, and the dust cleared, there was nothing left of Pyranus but a small pile of dust.
Both Sailor Jupiter and Thor took a sigh of relief, glad that this battle was finally over.
"Phew. I'm sure glad that's over." Sailor Jupiter sighed.
"I, as well." Thor said. "That was a tough battle."
"Huh. You know, we made a pretty good team back there." Makoto said as she smiled at the God of Thunder.
"Aye. Indeed, we did." Thor smiled back. "Though I believe it'd be best if we continue this conversation elsewhere."
"Yeah. We made a pretty big scene here." Sailor Jupiter agreed, looking at the destruction their battle created. "I'm called Sailor Jupiter, by the way."
"Sailor Jupiter…?" Thor quirked an eyebrow, a bit puzzled why she would name herself after a certain planet in the solar system. But decided to leave it be for now. "Would you like me to take you away and somewhere more secluded?" The Asgardian asked.
"Um… well, okay." Makoto agreed, feeling a bit reluctant.
Thor gentled wrapped his left arm around the Sailor Scout, giving her a gentle look to assure her that everything will be alright. "Though I must advise you to hold on tight. And also, to not look down." With that, the Thunder God spun his hammer around rapidly and hurled it upwards, holding onto Sailor Jupiter firmly but gently as both were flown upwards into the air, pulled by Mjölnir's might. Of course, Makoto couldn't help but let out a loud scream after being brought high into the sky and gazing at the city from such a high altitude in the blink of an eye.
As promised, Thor landed himself and Sailor Jupiter in a remote alleyway. Once she recomposed herself after her adrenalin skyrocketed from the experience of flying like a bird, Sailor Jupiter reverted to her Makoto Kino persona. Knowing that her friends would want to hear about Thor's father's supposed meeting with the Moon Kingdom (and the trouble they would have in believing her if she were to tell them she fought alongside a god from Norse mythology), Makoto asked Thor if he could join her in Usagi Tsukino's house, to which he wholeheartedly agreed.
After making their way to Makoto's friend's house without drawing too much attention to themselves, and calling their other friends to come, the rest of the Sailor Scouts arrived at the house to meet the God of Thunder. But, surprisingly enough, none were more surprised or shocked of the Asgardian's presence than Luna, Artemis, and Diana.
"I can't believe it. Gods are real…" Minako Aino breathed in awe as she stared at the God of Thunder, who was sitting on a small chair.
"Are there more gods? Like those from Greek mythology or even Japanese mythology?" Ami Mizuno asked in curiosity, her mind racing with countless questions now that this truth has been revealed. "Or even the God from the Bible?"
"And your father, Odin, knew Queen Serenity?" Rei Hino asked.
"Do you know any other gods, Mr. Thor?" Chibiusa Tsukino asked.
"Settle down, everyone." Luna called out. "You'll all get your turns asking the son of Odin if there are more gods out there."
"But right now, I believe it is best to tell you all about Odin and Frigga's arrival to the Moon Kingdom." Artemis said.
This got everyone's attention and caused them to shift their attention at Thor, who sighed softly. "I was but a toddler when the All-Father and my mother were welcomed to the Moon Kingdom."
"The Moon Kingdom first became aware of Asgard's existence when Frost Giants from Jotunheim attacked Earth, attempting to take it over. Fortunately, Odin arrived and forced the Frost Giants to retreat back to their world. The Moon Kingdom made contact with Asgard only a year before Princess Serenity was born." Lune began explaining as everyone around her listened intently. "Queen Serenity invited Odin and Frigga and several other Asgardians to the Moon Kingdom as a way to thank them for saving the people of Earth – or Midgard, as the Asgardians call it."
"Almost immediately upon arriving to the Moon Kingdom, Odin established a friendly relationship with Queen Serenity. Our Queen invited Odin and Frigga to a feast in the Moon Kingdom, and Odin announced that Asgard and the Moon Kingdom together will watch over the evolution of Earth and protect it from any threats from the outside."
"But if Odin was in the Moon Kingdom, and he was friends with Serenity, why didn't you tell us about this, Luna?" Minako asked, feeling a bit betrayed as to why Luna wouldn't inform them of something so important. Seeing this, Artemis decided to speak on Luna's behalf.
"It is because of Odin's wish." Artemis said. "When he and several other Asgardians came to Earth to save it from the Frost Giants, the people of Earth started worshiping them. But Odin didn't want that. He didn't want himself and his people to be revered and worshiped, despite being gods."
"Father would have wanted the people of Midgard to forge their own paths and choose their own destinies, without the influence of higher beings such as ourselves impeding their potential." Thor suddenly spoke, knowing his father would want something like this. "That is why he asked Queen Serenity to keep the existence of Asgard a secret from you."
Luna nodded. "That is precisely the reason, Odinson."
"But why didn't Asgard help the Moon Kingdom when Beryl brainwashed the people of Earth to go to war against the Moon?" Usagi asked. "Surely Asgard could have saved the Moon Kingdom and defeated Beryl!"
"Unfortunately, Miss Usagi, Asgard was facing its own problem when that was happening." Thor spoke softly, turning everyone's attention to him. "You see, when Beryl was attacking the Moon Kingdom, Asgard was on the brink of Ragnarok."
"Ragnarok?!" The Sailor Scouts exclaimed in shock. They had heard of this event, known as the twilight of the gods.
"But… Ragnarok is unavoidable, right…?" Rai asked, wondering how Asgard could have possible prevented the end of all things.
"Not quite, young warrior." Thor said. "My father sacrificed one of his eyes to acquire the wisdom needed to avoid Ragnarok. He succeeded, but at a great cost. Ymir, the King of Niflheim, battled Surtur, the king of Muspelheim, which ended with Surtur victorious. Fenrir and Jörmungandr were nearly unleashed, but both were successfully re-sealed before they could do any harm. And Father sacrificed many warriors on that day to seal Surtur in Muspelheim, and thus couldn't spare some to help the Moon Kingdom. As king of Asgard, the protection of his realm and his people came first and foremost to the All-Father. I am sorry he couldn't help Queen Serenity and the Moon."
The Sailor Scouts tried to argue, to find an excuse to be upset, but found that they couldn't. If any of them were in Odin's place, they likely would have done the same thing.
"On another note, Mjölnir has deemed your friend here worthy to wield it!" Thor suddenly said, pointing Makoto Kino, who blushed a little.
"WHAT!?" The other Sailor Scouts shouted in disbelief, as did the cats.
"It wasn't that impressive." Makoto Kino said modestly.
" 'Not that impressive?' " Rei asked in disbelief. "You lifted a legendary weapon created by gods!"
"Actually, Mjölnir was created by dwarves." Ami clarified.
"Pfft. I'm sure anyone can lift that small hammer." Usagi said haughty and went over to the table where the magical hammer was resting. "Watch." She grabbed the handle of Mjölnir and tried to lift it, only to discover that the hammer wouldn't even budge. "What the-?" Usagi looked in surprise before grabbing the hammer with both hands and tried to lift it. Her friends watched with amusement as the girl's face turned red with exertion from the futile effort of trying to lift the hammer.
Finally, Usagi gave up and let go of the magical hammer. "Stupid hammer! It must weigh a ton." Usagi huffed and crossed her arms.
"Looks like the hammer doesn't consider you worthy, Usagi." Chibiusa snickered.
"Oh, shut up." Usagi puffed her cheeks before turning to Makoto. "Makoto, if you can really lift this hammer, then prove it right now."
Makoto Kino looked at Usagi, then at her friends, and then at Thor, who smiled and nodded for her to accept her friend's request. Getting off her chair, Makoto walked up to the magical hammer, grabbed hold of its handle with one hand… and effortlessly lifted as if it weighed nothing.
Everyone except Thor stared an awe and disbelief when Makoto preformed this incredible feat.
Before anyone could say a word, Ami's Mercury Goggles suddenly began picking up an energy signature from outside.
"Hey, guys. I'm picking up an unknown energy signature from outside." Ami stated.
"What is it? Is it another fire demon? A monster from the Negaverse?" Minako asked worriedly.
After the Sailor Scouts and the God of Thunder exited the house, to their surprise and amazement, a circular-shaped portal suddenly opened via a flash of light. Then, to everyone's even greater surprise, a tall and imposing man wearing golden armour with a horned helmet and wielding a large sword appeared before them.
"Heimdall?" Thor asked in surprise.
"Heimdall!?" The Sailor Scouts thought in shock and disbelief. The man standing before them was the gatekeeper of the Bifrost Bridge?
"Thor Odinson, you have been in Midgard for long enough." Heimdall spoke softly but firmly. "It is time to return to Asgard."
"Heimdall, may I kindly ask if you grant permission for these mortals to come to Asgard, as well?" Thor asked, pointing at the Sailor Scouts, who became perplexed and excited to go to the world of the gods.
"Odinson, you know the rules." The gatekeeper of the Bifrost Bridge sighed. "Interaction between Midgard and Asgard is forbidden under the All-Father's orders."
"I am well aware of that. But, these five mortals… are the reincarnations of the Moon people from the Moon Kingdom." Thor spoke, causing Heimdall's eyes to widen with surprise as he looked at the five Sailor Scouts in disbelief. He was one of the Asgardians that joined Odin and Frigga when Queen Serenity invited them to the Moon Kingdom thousands of years ago. But when the Moon Kingdom fell, Odin felt immense guilt for being unable to save the Moon people due to Ragnarok. If these five mortals are truly the reincarnations of some of the Moon people with their memories intact, then the All-Father would surely wish to speak with them.
"Very well." Heimdall said. "You have my permission to enter Asgard and see the All-Father."
"We're going to Asgard?!" Chibiusa asked in excitement.
"Indeed, we are, little one." Thor smiled at her.
With that, Thor, Makoto, Usagi, Minako, Rei, Ami, Chibiusa, and the three talking cats all stepped through the portal and entered the world of gods, Asgard. The portal disappeared as soon as they all entered it.
I hope you all enjoyed this crossover story!
Sailor Jupiter and Thor share several similarities; namely that they are both heroes that manipulate the power of thunder and lightning, and are both super strong. Also, they both have similarly large and sometimes overwhelming personalities.
