Good old fashioned song-fic like in the early 00s. I suggest listening to the song first or during: Battle Beast, Straight to the Heart, you can find it on youtube or spotify. Google it.
In the still of the night
Hear my heart beating through
So, won't you come and get what you've been waiting for?
Pip caught his breath as he scanned the underbrush for lingering foes. His heart was pounding, blood rushing through his veins. He had to say, he loved working for Hellsing - all the thrill of the hunt, the kick of adrenaline, the reason he had become a mercenary - but none of the moral questions or uncertainties. Mindless killing machines? You put them down, of course. No question. The pay was good, the work never ending, and while his employer was a bit of a stick-in-the mud, he had certainly found someone who made the job more exciting.
And now that their hunt for the night was over, he knew the next hunt had begun. She was coming for him.
When the moon is high, I'll be hunting for you
And when the night is done
You'll be screaming for
He grinned to himself as he crept through the bushes, head on a swivel. He had always loved a good game of cat and mouse – he had just never been the mouse before. He couldn't even remember how this game had started between them. He had certainly looked down on her at first, her small frame and youthful appearance hiding her power, and she had been smug in showing him what she was capable of. It had turned into a rivalry of sorts – who could get to the enemy location first, who could take the most out, who could swipe the other's kill. They both loved the rush, the fight, and it had seemed an almost natural escalation when she finally - after taking out a nest of fledgling vampires - had slammed him against a tree and had her way with him.
Something told him that in her previous life, she had not been the dominant type. She was experimenting, playful, and reveling in her newfound courage, and he was only too happy to become her plaything. But, of course, he couldn't make it too easy on her. He was a soldier, and a very good one.
Straight to the heart
Light me up before I'm done
Straight to the heart
Hear the thunder roar
She was impatient, and he used that against her. Staying low and quiet, he concealed himself in the foliage, not far from the burning wreck of the church they had just cleared of zombies. Watching across the graveyard as she had finished the last of them, he radioed his team to return to base. It was a small operation, but large enough that Integra had not wanted just the two of them out, so he made an excuse to his men about doing a last patrol so they would go back without him. He had lost sight of her almost immediately. He had little doubt that she knew where he was, but he would hear her coming thanks to the thin saplings and thick grasses around his location. He wasn't giving up without a fight.
Oh, my love!
We'll never get enough
Straight through your heart
I'm out for you
I'll never miss my mark
Of course, a large part of him wondered why he even wanted to hide. He rather enjoyed being caught. But where was the fun in that? He thought idly that being hunted had its own sort of thrill, as he pulled the pin on a smoke grenade and waited. There – a rustle to his left. He exploded out from the bushes, knowing she was a step behind him, a burst into wild laughter when she tripped his explosive. It was a new trick - he had thought of it a few weeks ago when he had watched her brush off an incendiary grenade like it was nothing, and realized he could pull out the big guns with her - and he found a perverse pleasure in the sound of her swearing fiercely. He headed into the forest, wondering how much time he had bought himself.
Not as much as he had thought - a spike of panic flickered in his awareness when he saw movement in the corner of his eye, matching his pace to his right. Leaping to the side, he threw the smoke grenade and juked back the direction he had come.
"Almost, ma cherie!" he gloated loudly over his shoulder, only to stumble in amazement when he heard her land in front of him. He jerked his head around at the same time that he tried to lurch backward, giving himself whiplash and landing firmly on his ass. His pursuer smirked as she strode over to him, glowing in the moonlight that filtered through the trees. He frowned petulantly - she really was starting to bruise his ego - but his one good eye trailed appreciatively up her long, bare legs as she stopped in front of him. Her sparkling blue eyes were filled with mirth and feral joy, the kind he recognized well, the kind he felt after taking out a particularly challenging target. He hoped she saw him as a challenge, at least. Perhaps she would after tonight.
My wicked love, it's the weapon I wield
No need to beg on your knees
I'm always there for you
I am not what you want
But I got what you need
Give into my arms and I'll set you
Free, free, free
This dynamic between them only ever came out at night on a mission. They had never addressed or acknowledged it in the light of day. He frankly saw no need to. Whatever they were doing, it was fun, and he didn't want to examine it too closely.
But it did occupy his thoughts, and he would find himself staring at her at the most random times, planning, brainstorming how to get one up on her. Hand-to-hand combat had not been of use, and he had none of her strange powers. But he was a mercenary - he knew how to play dirty.
Now, as she stood over him, he met her eyes. A flicker of uncertainty in her expression - she knew he was up to something. He shot his eyes above her head and, in a panic, she braced herself while following his gaze. She therefore missed the second smoke grenade, which he tossed up in a perfectly timed arc such that it exploded directly under her nose.
"FUCK!" he heard her yelp as he scurried to his feet and started running again. He resisted the urge to laugh again and focused on getting as far away as possible, as fast as possible. The problem was that he really couldn't outrun her - and he was already starting to get tired.
Straight to the heart
Light me up before I'm done
Straight to the heart
Hear the thunder roar
Oh, my love
We'll never get enough
Straight through your heart
I'm out for you
I'll never miss my mark
He cursed as he tripped over a half rotten log and fell to his knees. He was out of energy, the adrenaline rush failing him. He flipped his body around to see her as she leapt down, superhuman, to land strandling his prone form. She was panting, her cheeks flushed and hair disheveled, radiant in the moonlight. She flashed him a triumphant grin as she braced her hands on either side of his head and leaned over him.
"I caught you," she murmured, lips nearly brushing against his own. He felt the adrenaline rise in him anew – this time rushing straight to his cock. He groaned in defeat before giving her a coy smile.
"Who am I to deny you your prize?"
Straight to the heart
Light me up before I'm done
Straight to the heart
Hear the thunder roar
Oh, my love
We'll never get enough
Straight through your heart
I'm out for you
I'll never miss my mark
First of all, I don't know. I have several Alucard/Usa drabbles, a bunch with Sebastian, a mostly written smutty Geralt fic, Hiei and Kurama have been on my to-write list for LITERALLY 21 YEARS, GUYS, THAT BRAIN WORM IS OLD ENOUGH TO DRINK. But I listened to this song and my brain just went "yeah but what about Pip." What about Pip?! Who cares! Apparently I do, but only in the context of this song.
Anyway if you are confused about setting, my brain borrowed Sesshy's Mistress's world where Usa, now Cosmos, has joined up with Hellsing. So obviously go read all of her work, immediately. It is all Alucard/Usa, AS IT SHOULD BE, what is even UP with this Pip/Usa nonsense, oh well here it is. Not even smut, I should be ashamed of myself.
