Chapter Six

"Who all knows about where Royce was?" Emmett asked me.

I shrugged. "I don't know. I didn't even know he was in town. All I know is that I saw him on my doorstep, and I blacked out. When I came to, he was bleeding on my porch. I called Enzo because I was obviously scared. He and Nonno came to help me."

"How did you clean up the mess?" Carlisle asked.

"We repaved the porch. Why so interested?" Nonno asked.

"The night of the incident, it was a group of guys. I wouldn't be shocked if they don't start asking around for him," Jasper said. "They probably already are looking for him." I audibly gulped.

Edward cleared his throat. "We have the ability to make things go away and never show up again," he paused "better than most."

I grabbed a large chunk of bread, and as soon as I went to put the bread in my mouth a hand with red painted nails grabbed my piece of bread. "Rosie, if the reason that bread is in your hand is that you want to feed me and not yourself when you can most definitely get your own, I suggest that you put it in my mouth." She huffed and not so gently shoved it in my mouth.

"Jesus Christ. You two are 26 and 27, right?" We nodded at Papa Enzo. "You sure as shit don't act like it." Rosalie and I just pointed at each other to blame the other one.

"Back to the other task at hand," Edward said. "I have a team coming out here now to get Royce out of here. Tomorrow afternoon, I have some guys coming out to build you a new porch."

I sighed. "Can I speak to you in my office?" He raised his eyebrow and followed me to the office. "Shut the door, please," I softly said.

"What's going on, Tesoro?" I sat down at my desk. "We need to get rid of anything that could link you and King together."

I nodded. "I understand that." I rubbed my eyes because I was starting to get really exhausted. "How much is this going to cost me?"

"Nothing." I raised my eyebrow at him. "I'm not going to get people out here and expect you to pay them. You don't need to stress about anything like that. I'll help you if you need it."

I shook my head. "First off, I don't know you that well to even give you any inkling of my financial status. Second off, I'll have to you know that I am doing really well with all of my income. I'm just not one of those women who like to spend money on materialistic things."

He smirked. "Duly noted." I just shook my head at him, and he looked around my office. "This looks nice."

I gave him a soft smile. "Thank you. I designed this house." He nodded his head. "Well, I'm going to go change because I need to show your dudes where King is." Edward just chuckled as I went upstairs to my bedroom.

I has thrown on a sports bra and a pair of yoga pants when Rosalie bolted in my room. "Hey," she said. "I'm borrowing some clothes. I need to go see it." I nodded. We both finished getting dressed. When we went downstairs, Nonno and Enzo were getting the flashlights out of my garage. "Nonno, I don't want you walking out in the woods at night."

"You girls go ahead. I'll show them where it's at," Enzo said. "Dad is going to stay here."

I looked at Rosalie. "Are you sure?" She bit her lip and nodded. I opened the cabinet by my tv and grabbed the pistol that I had there. "Woods at night. I want this." She grabbed water bottles out of the fridge. "Let's go."

When we were a good distance from the house, she stopped me. "Why didn't you tell me?"

I sighed. "I didn't want this to add anything to you. Plus, if someone found out, I didn't want anything to happen to you."

"Bella, you have been my best friend since we were literal newborns. You shouldn't of kept this from me." I just nodded. "Did it feel good though?"

"Rosalie, I was so relieved that he was dead. I don't know if that makes me a terrible person, but I felt like I could breath again."

She wrapped her arm in mine. "No, it doesn't make you terrible." She laid her head on my shoulder. "If anything, you made the world a better place." We continued walking some more way there. "Shit. How far away is he from the house."

"Had to cover my ass." I shrugged. After another twenty minutes, we reached the spot where he was buried. "Qui giace Royce King. Possa il bastardo R.I.P." (Here lies Royace King. May he R.I.P).

"Marcire nel dolore," Rosalie said. (Rot in Pain).

I gave her a high five. "Amen." Rosalie and I stood there in silence for a couple of moments. I got a good look at her to see that she had tears running down her face. "Without thinking about it, tell me how you are feeling right now at this moment."

She gave me a huge smile of relief. "Bella, I feel free." I just nodded and let her feel free in silence. "I'm going to sit down." We sat down on ground. "I always thought that I wasn't ready for Emmett out of my own fear that I would have the same experience that I had with Royce."

I raised my eyebrow at her. "Has he given you those familiar feelings?"

"No," she said. "Never." I just nodded my head. "Now, seeing this spot. The whole time I was worried about Royce finding me happy and him taking all that away from me." She laid her head on my shoulder. "Thank you."

The two of us at sat there in silence for a good long while waiting for everyone else. "Do you two want to stay here for this?" Edward asked. He took off his jacket and rolled up his sleeves.

Rosalie shot up and walked to Emmett. He wrapped her up in his big arms. "I want to stay."

"I'll stay," I said. I truthfully didn't want to, but I also didn't want to walk back to my house by myself. "He's over there."

Edward held up his arm and waved for more people to step forward. "Shit, Bella. You have a lot of space around your house." I nodded. "How do you not have neighbors?"

I smiled. "This whole area is owned by Cigno Inc."

"Originally, her grandfather wanted to add another distillery but that didn't happen because of a few circumstances. Instead, he used this land for a place that Isabella could grow here or do whatever she wants with it," Enzo said. "We tried to convince her to save this land and live somewhere in the city where there are people near her."

I shrugged. "I've been fine outside of this shit show so far. Plus, my Nonna wasn't ever going to move out of the house that she lived with the love of her life and grew her family. I decided to design her dream house that way she could see it in person."

"Nonna always did have a good eye," Rosalie said.

I smiled thinking about my Nonna. "She sure did."

"What of your house is your design?" Carlisle asked, and I could tell that he was trying to distract us from them digging Royce up.

"I designed everything in my house. Some areas just have little more influence than others." Rosalie laughed. "Rosalie loves to tinker with cars. She lived in the city, so I made the garage have enough space for her to tinker with her car. My Nonno loved sitting on the couch after a long day of work with a glass of whiskey, the fireplace on, and watching television. He inspired the large comfy couch living room that I have going on. My Nonna and I always made sure that we had dinner on the table every night, so she inspired the kitchen. My office is designed the way that I like it. Then I have four spare rooms. One on the main floor, and three on the second floor. They don't have much of design to them. Then I have my master room." I shrugged. "it's my house, and I wouldn't change t for the world."

Rosalie giggled. "I can't wait to see the day that a man tried to get you to move out of that house."

I held up my hands and laughed. "Then he is not the one for me." Edward hummed in understanding.

"You know what I could go for after a fat juicy nap?" Rosalie asked after a few silent moments. I just looked at her. "Nonna Giulia's cinnamon rolls." Rosalie stared at me.

"Maybe next weekend," I told her. Edward sat down on the ground next to me. "Hi," I whispered to him.

"Hey, Tesoro." He kissed the top of my head. I laid on my head on his shoulder.

I must have fallen asleep because the next thing I know is that I'm being carried. "What?" I groggily asked.

"You and Rosalie fell asleep. We are heading back to the house now." I nodded my head and buried my head back into Edward's neck. "Wake me up when we get back home. I want to shower before I lay down in my bed." I fell back asleep in seconds.

When I woke up again, Edward was carrying me into my bathroom. "Where is everyone?"

"Everyone went home. Enzo and Lorenzo left to go to Rosalie's house. Ma brought me some clothes to wear tomorrow while we were gone. I'm going to crash in another room if that's okay? I have a team coming in six hours for your porch."

I sleepily nodded. "Yeah. Please shower before your lay in one of my beds though. You smell like outside. I mean you don't smell bad, but you just smell like the woods more than usual. I have extra stuff in my hall closet." He chuckled and sat me down on my counter. "You know when I said shower. I didn't exactly mean with me."

He chuckled. "As must as I would love that, Tesoro. I'm just getting the water ready for you."

"Okay. I like my water to feel like I'm standing in infrerno." (hell). He chuckled. As he turned around to my shower, I took off my clothes. I wrapped a towel around my front before he turned around. He paused in shocked and stared behind me. I turned my head to see that my ass was exposed. "Yes. That's my culo." (butt).

He wrapped his arms around me. "Shower and go get sleep, Tesoro." He looked at my butt in the mirror and gave it a gentle tap. Edward kissed the top of my head and started to walk out. I dropped my towel as I walked to my bathroom. From behind me, I heard Edward let out a little gasp.

I smirked while he shut the bathroom door. I showered, put on a silk pajama set, and passed out in my comfortable bed.
