Chapter 30 - Secret Kiss

The world was so colorful. It seemed that it was brighter, more vivid, and more saturated. Everything seemed beautiful, sparkling, and pretty.

An hour stuck in traffic didn't make Eira angry or impatient. She smiled while looking at the car that also wasn't moving next to hers. Well, her eyes were toward the cars, but she didn't really look at it. Because her head was playing the sweet memories she made with a certain marshal yesterday.

"You look so happy today," Lizette said.

"Ehehehe… Yeah, a good thing happened," Eira replied.

"Oh? What is it?"

Eira blinked then looked at Lizette. The crownsguard didn't look at her, still staring straight to another stuck car in front of them. Glad that Eira didn't sit right behind her because Lizette could peek through the rearview mirror and caught her blushing.

"Um…" But Eira didn't know if she could tell Liz about this or not. Lizette indeed already knew about the fact that Eira fell in love with the marshal, and she was the first one who knew that Cor rejected Eira. It would feel bad if Eira didn't tell her about the latest situation between Cor and her. They needed to conceal their relationship. Even though Eira was sure that Lizette—or even Stella and Raine—were the one who could be trusted, and wouldn't spread a word about it. If they weren't to be trusted, all of the citadel had already known that Eira had a thing for the marshal.

"Um… I don't know if I can tell you about it," Eira said honestly. Right, she needed to discuss it further with Cor. Cor probably wouldn't mind if Eira's friends knew about them, but she didn't want to spill it without his approval beforehand.

"Why?" Lizette turned her head to Eira and pouted.

"It's something that… I need to think about... If you don't mind?" Eira felt guilty, but nothing that she could do.

Lizette wasn't impressed. But at the end she sighed and looked back to the front, "Fineee…"

Eira chuckled hearing how not genuine Liz was.

Sorry, Lizette.

The citadel palette color was black, grey, and gold. But for Eira, it felt like there were pink flowers blooming in the air. Funny that the only pink color in the citadel was probably her skirt, or some flowers in the garden.

Yesterday—and also days before today—it was very hard for her to step inside the hallway and walk toward the infirmary in the morning. But today, her body felt so light, feather light. It felt like she was floating toward the place where her happiest memories were made yesterday.

Thinking about the infirmary, she wondered if she should change her shift again to the afternoon one. Ah, but her shift time didn't really matter anymore. She is Cor's lover and she could ask him to meet her anytime—of course not when they were busy with their job or without concealing their relationship. She didn't need to secretly admire him as he walked past the infirmary in the afternoon only to see him now. They could arrange their time to meet. Even though "secretly" was still needed for their rendezvous.

She now arrived at the hallway in front of the infirmary door. A smile passed over her face as she relieved the last night memories when Cor kissed her lips right there in front of those doors. Blushing, she shook her head to shoo away those memories temporarily, then took the key from her bag and opened the door.

Seeing the empty infirmary, she bit her lower lips as she recreated the memories when they were hugging there. Next to the bed closest to the door. She still remembered clearly his warmth, his scent, his touch…

It still felt like a dream. But… No… No, it wasn't a dream.

Her wallpaper was still the selfie picture they took in their favorite izakaya. And this morning she sent a good morning chat to her boyfriend and he replied to it.

It definitely wasn't a dream.

Eira Heallint is Cor Leonis's girlfriend.

She then began her work while smiling all day.

An hour after her working hour, Eira was reading her book. Citadel infirmary was rather quiet in the morning so she mostly spent her time reading. People began to come after lunch, or when the crownsguard were training. The crownsguard often got hurt mostly because of the sparring, but fortunately it was just some scratches and swelling. They were rarely heavily injured.

Knock knock!

Eira gasped and quickly raised her head soon after she heard that someone was knocking the infirmary door. Looking at the entrance, her heart almost stopped when she saw Cor there.

She was panicking. Why? Why did Cor come this morning?

"Ah… Um… Hi…" she stuttered, wasn't anticipating his presence right now. "Can I help you, Sir?" and thus she talked with formality. Afraid that other people might enter the infirmary. She didn't want anyone to catch her calling the marshal with only his name.

Cor chuckled, "Yeah, I think I'm not feeling good."

He didn't seem to be not feeling good, though.

Blushing, Eira looked at Cor who was walking to a bed next to her desk. She then stood up from her seat and walked toward him, "Let me check it. Please have a seat."

And when she was only a foot from him, Cor suddenly grabbed her and kissed her lips. She gasped then quickly clutched his coat so that she didn't lose her balance.

The butterflies fluttered in her stomach when she felt his tongue that forced open her mouth. Cor twirled his tongue with hers, delving deeper while sometimes sucking her lips.

She was hovering. Head spinning, and chest burning.

But then she remembered it was in the citadel infirmary. In panic, she pushed his body away.

"Cor… It's in the citadel…" she whispered.

"The curtain behind me won't let people see." He replied then placed his hand behind her head and pushed her closer to give another kiss on her lips.

Cor was too strong, and struggling to flee from his arms was a futile act. Eira finally gave up, letting her man spoil her with kisses. Not that she didn't enjoy it though. She loved the way he was hungrily devouring her, as if how many times they did it he wouldn't be satisfied. Passionately, lustfully... And what she could do was only to spill muffled moans into his throat.

This was very dangerous, and Cor kissed her like he was very certain that no one would step inside the infirmary and caught them red-handed doing indecent things inside the citadel.

Until finally he gave her mercy and pulled away his head, letting her take breath. She panted heavily, for having her strength depleted by his kisses.

"Cor…" she wanted to complain. However, she was in need of air and her head was still spinning.

"Yes, my dear." Cor caressed her cheek gently. Oh, she really loved the way he called her. 'My dear.' Oh….

His blue eyes were staring at her in a tender manner, conveying the love he felt toward her. The kind of love that he didn't need to hide and bury away. That he didn't need to hide from her anymore.

She loved how the marshal was being honest with his feelings. However, this was in the citadel. He was being careless.

Huffing, she looked at Cor who was still staring deeply at her. "This is so dangerous."

"I know…" he whispered, "But I can't hold it."

Eira bit her lower lips as she heard his reason. She was blushing hearing that Cor couldn't hold back from kissing her. He even risked everything to come here and kissed her. Well, the curtain did indeed hide them, but it was really dangerous.

"That was careless," she pouted.

"You hate it?" Cor asked.

Mouth agape, Eira felt the heat already crept from her cheeks to her ears. "Of course no…"

"Good."

Cor released his arms from her, and Eira stepped back, making a distance between them.

"But… we need to be careful…" she whispered.

"I'll keep that in mind. So, no kissing in the citadel anymore, then?"

Eira parted her lips then curved up her eyebrows. She didn't know what to say, "That's..."

Cor chuckled, "You don't want that either?"

Eira was so embarrassed. She liked his kisses. It was just the second day for them as a couple, and Eira was indeed missing his kisses already. And the citadel is the place they could meet often. If they made a rule not to kiss in the citadel, she didn't know where else they could kiss… Well, she could visit his house, but...

"Uu… Cor…" she slapped his upper arm, which gained her another chuckle from her lover.

"You're so adorable." Cor patted her head softly.

She blinked in surprise. It was the first time he patted her. She loved it, how warm his hand was, how big it was. It made her feel so safe, so comfortable. She really liked it.

However, the man shouldn't spend his time too long here. Still, what if someone gets in and sees the marshal pat the medic's head?

Thus, she asked, a bit teasing, "Still not feeling good?" remembering that Cor said that he wasn't feeling good to lure her away from her desk.

"Better." Cor chuckled. "You're really the best healer in Lucis."

Eira blushed, "You should get out before anyone comes here."

"Yeah." Cor gave a chaste kiss on her lips before walking away from the bed which just witnessed their passionate exchange.

"See you later," Eira said.

Cor smiled then walked out from the infirmary.

Giving a long sigh, Eira placed her palms on her cheeks, sensing the heat from her skin. It was a pleasant surprise, she thought.

She was so happy that Cor intentionally visited her and gave her passionate morning kisses. For sure that today would be a great day.

Aaah, she was so happy.

And today in the infirmary, pink flowers were blooming in the air. Surrounding a certain medic who was deeply in love.
