First I want to say thank everyone for all the kind comments recently. It really warms my heart and gives me the motivation to continue this book.

Now, without further ado! Enjoy the latest chapter! ^.^

The bright morning of September shines over the Town of Kuoh. The glistering sun showcase clear in the dark-blue sky. The hotness has lessened considerably compared to the start of the month where the temperature could reach up to 40 Celsius and at times even surpassing that. With the heat slowly declining, the night now has become quite chilly with cold breezes blowing about at more frequent occasions.

Outside of the Main Town of Kuoh exist many Motels that is used as resting-points for travelers. A place for them to stay while they are exploring the many landmarks Kuoh has to offer. Some of the Motels are higher quality than others, but the prices for even the bests Motels out there is nowhere near as expensive as the ones found in the Center of the Town. Making it the ideal place to stay for visitors.

In a specific Motel called Gray Lotus is where Miraya Culdos currently resides. A ray of sunlight peeks through the shuttle and shines over the King-size bed that's set at the center of a medium-size room. A soft feminine groan emits from underneath the white cover as movements begin to stir.

Slowly, a slender, pale arm pops from the blanket and grabs the top, slowly pushing it down to reveal a tired-looking Miraya. Bringing the right hand to her forehead "Uh, Morning already?" she groans in annoyance before slowly rising to show her gray satin silk sleeveless sleepwear.

Stretching her arms wide in the air, Miraya lets out a melodic, soft yawn before opening her eyes wide. A small soft smile form on her lip. Miraya slides over to have her legs drops to the edge of the bed, her feet touching the comfortable black carpet. "Time to start the day," Miraya whisper then push herself off the bed to stand straight.

Without delay, Miraya heads to the bathroom to take a shower. The sound of the water running emits out and into the bedroom. Not long after, Miraya remerges through the door with a towel wrapped tightly around her perfect slender hourglass figure. She heads to the wardrobe to quickly change into an attire that'll be appropriate for today's weather.

Shutting the wardrobe's door, Miraya steps back to examines herself with the mirror on one of the doors. The clothes she picks is a white short-sleeve blouse that's fully buttoned up and a clean olive-green skirt that reaches to the knees. Miraya examines her hair, seeing the dark violet locks perfectly framing her face with a single bang falling between her eyes. She decides to leave her hair to flow freely today.

As Miraya looks at herself through the mirror, a small smile flickers on her lip as she recollects the event of last night.

Flashback

After Nawin and Miraya were able to get their emotion controlled. The two friends are now sited at one of the many tables that littered around the park. With the current time of night, the place is entirely devoid of any people, giving the pair a much-needed private time to chat.

Miraya sets her arms comfortably on the table then look across to Nawin, smiling brightly "So tell me, Nawin. How are you doing right now?" "There's a lot to tell," Nawin informs with a soft smile "I finally found you," Miraya states "I have all the time in the world."

Hearing that cause Nawin's smile to widen. "Well," he starts "Ever since I returned here. I was able to make a lot of... friends" "Really!" Miraya exclaims in surprise before a happy grin breaks across her face "Oh that's a delight to hear!" "Too much excitement there," Nawin state and laughs a bit "Oh come now," Miraya gives a knowing look "Back then you didn't make a single friend, Nawin" "... I was friends with you" "Besides me," Miraya adds and giggles when the Makasha pouts like a child at being proved wrong.

"But," Miraya tilts her head and wears a smile of relief "I am delighted to hear that Nawin. My last thought while I was in your arms that day, breathing what I thought would be my last breath... All that was in my mind was you and the worries. I was worried my death would further push you away from making any friends. Thinking you'd be alone scared me so much."

Hearing the fearful tone from Miraya. Nawin reaches his right arm out to grasp her hand, giving it a soft, comforting squeeze, which causes her to look at him to see his smile. "Don't worry about that anymore, Miraya. I'm happy now and no longer alone. I have many great friends and a wonderful lover," "A lover?!" Miraya repeats loudly in surprise.

"Ah," Nawin realize what he just said and released Miraya's hand. "Yes," he says with a soft smile, grasping his hands together. "Her name is Akeno Himejima. She's a very special girl," "She must be," Miraya says with a faint smile "To be able to catch your attention, Mr. Lonewolf" "You... You aren't upset, are you?" Nawin asks with hesitance, a look of worry quickly settles on his face.

Miraya's smile slightly wanes "We promised never to lie to one another, correct?" "...Yes," "Then I am a bit disappointed to hear about that. But," her smile shift to more positive "If this girl truly makes you happy, and I think she does then I am fine. You aren't the kind of person to fall for anyone, Nawin." Miraya's gives a big teasing grin "You are a hard catch! If she was able to get your attention, then I can confidently say she is a good person."

Nawin lets out a chuckle then slowly nod "I am relieved to hear that. It means a lot to me that you are fine with it" "Of course, Nawin" Miraya says, wearing a caring expression "All I ever want is for you to be happy. If this girl makes you happy, then I am fine" "... Always the selfless person after all these years," Nawin state with great fondness.

"Hearing now that you have friends and a lover makes me relief," Miraya states "It means you were able to get over my death and m-" "I never got over it, Miraya" Nawin cuts in, his expression saddens "I-I... I don't think I could ever... I should have stayed longer... I should have been there when you awakened!" Miraya reaches out to grasps both of Nawin's hand to stop his rant of regret "Don't beat yourself over it, Nawin. I don't blame you one bit. I understood your actions well and to be honest, it was a wise decision for you to move out of here quickly after that... It would be torture for you if you continued to stay here after my death. There are too many memories."

Nawin looks up and smiles at Miraya, firmly holding her soft hands "Thank you," "You don't need to thank me for that," Miraya replies and giggle. Nawin watches a yawn escaping from his friend's mouth and chuckles "I think it's time for us to postpone our catching up session "Y-yeah," Miraya replies, trying to hold off another yawn threatening to escape "It's been a long couple of months for me" she informs. "You can tell me all about it tomorrow then," Nawin states with a smile "I want to hear what you've been doing for all these years" "Same as I for you," Miraya reply with her own smile.

Releasing each other's hands, Nawin and Miraya raise to their feet. "Ah," Nawin quickly reach into the jean's pocket to pull out his phone "Need to exchange numbers" "Of course," Miraya pulls out her phone. The two give each other their contact information. "By the way," "Hmm?" Nawin looks up and is surprised by a kiss on the cheek then the next thing he knows a flash of light erupt out of nowhere. "W-what?" Nawin stutters, a blush evident on his cheeks as he watches Miraya giggles then shows her phone to reveal a picture of them "Got to take a picture of our reunion" she states with a wink.

Present

Miraya smiles warmly at the memory before turning around to head for the door. But, when reaching the middle of the room, she suddenly comes to a stop then slowly turns right to face the wooden desk set on the right, beside the television.

Stopping in front of the desk, Miraya reaches her hand out to grab the metal handle on the drawer and slowly pulls it open. With an unreadable expression, Miraya stares at stunning and beautiful ruby brooch that rest on a clean white napkin made of silk. Seeing the jewelry brings a sense of reminiscing in Miraya. She reaches for it but stops as the fingertips were inches away from the dazzling ruby. An image of Nawin's face appears in her mind. Miraya's eyes sadden "No... He's not ready yet" she whispers and drops her hand down to the handle and slowly push the drawer shut.

Stopping at the front door, Miraya puts on a pair of long leather brown boots before grabbing the doorknob and twist it open. "Time to go fetch breakfast," she utters with a smile then exits the dimly lit room.

Makasha Household

Still early in the morning, a slumbering Akeno lays snugly on the bed with a faint smile plastered on her face to perhaps show sign of a pleasant dream currently playing in her mind.

Then, a delicious aroma comes entering the room through the slightly cracked door. Akeno's nose twitches when the mouthwatering scent enters her nostril, and her expression begins to stir little by little. "Akeno..." a smooth and warm voice calls out, then a hand gently presses on her exposed slender shoulder, giving a soft shake.

"H-hm?" Akeno hums in response and slowly opens her eyes, blinking a couple of time to rid the morning blurriness. When her vision clears, Akeno is surprised to see Nawin kneeling right beside the bed, greeting her with a warm smile. "Morning," he says "Morning, Nawin-kun" Akeno replies with a bright smile and slowly sits up to show her black night undergarment.

Done stretching her arms up in the air and letting out a yawn, Akeno shift to Nawin "Did you have another nightmare?" she asks with concern, seeing that he is already awaked "No," Nawin shakes his head and gives a reassure smile "I actually had a great sleep last night" "Really?" Akeno asks, smiling in relief "Yep" "I'm so glad to hear that."

"Now," Nawin stands up "You should go take a shower, Akeno" "Mhm-hmm," Akeno drops her legs to the edge "By the way what's that smell?" "Breakfast, of course," Nawin replies with a chuckle then heads to the door "Don't be late or the food will be cold."

Akeno blinks as she watches her lover leaves the room in a bit of a hurry. "He's quite happy," she comments before smiling brightly. Seeing her lover in such a positive mood this morning gives Akeno a feeling that today will be a beautiful day. With that in mind, Akeno did not waste time and hops off the bed before quickly heading to the bathroom to shower.

Not long after, Akeno exits the bedroom. Freshly showered and dressed in the school's uniform. She heads to the stares and takes a few steps down to only come to an erupt stops when seeing a weird sight in front of her. Huddled at the hallway was Yao, Jonathan, and Lucy. All three of them are peaking into the kitchen like some sort of spy.

Akeno can only blink in dumbfounded by such an unexpected sight this morning. 'Ok... Maybe today will be a weird day,' she thinks before modestly descending down the stairs. "What are you all doing?" Akeno asks in a low tone when stopping next to the family "Something weird is happening," Lucy whispers back, glancing back for a moment before returning to look whatever is in the kitchen.

Akeno tilts her head and sniffs the air to smell that delicious aroma from earlier. 'Wait...' Akeno's eyes narrow, noticing something strange. She looks at Yao 'If she's here... Then who is cooking?' Unable to contain her curiosity, Akeno walks past the family and enter the kitchen to see a sight that stuns her to a halt.

In front of her shows Nawin cooking what looks like to be congee. The smell coming from the bowl was absolutely delicious with such rich fragrance in it. He is currently preparing some eggs to poach them in another bowl that's boiling of hot water. And as things couldn't get any weirder. Out of nowhere, a giggling Asia comes floating into the kitchen with her familiar, Natsuno the Sprite Dragon guiding her. Both just glides over Akeno's head.

Akeno takes a moment and brings her right hand up to pinch her cheek. "T-This isn't a dream?" she whispers to herself when seeing the scenario hasn't changed even after pinching herself twice in a row. "Is it honestly that shocking I am cooking breakfast?" Nawin speaks and lets out a chuckle.

After skillfully putting all the eggs in the large bowl, Nawin turns around to face his family. "Morning, everyone," he greets with a warm smile. "Morning..." the family replies collectively, still stunned by what they are seeing.

Lucy skips towards her brother and stops in front of him. She looks up at him, tilting her head in curious "What's this special occasion for, Big Bro? You rarely cook." Nawin sets his hand onto the blonde's head, ruffling her soft golden lock "I just felt like preparing some nice breakfast for you all" he states then turns up to look at his mother and Akeno "You two always prep our breakfast, so it's only right for me to return the favor once in a while."

"I need to be the one since Dad is terrible at cooking," Nawin remark with a smirk "Hey," Jonathan replies with a pout "I make good meatballs..." "We can't just have meatballs for breakfast, Dad" Nawin state with a chuckle. Yao watches this with a heartfelt smile growing on her face. Watching her beloved son's eyes and seeing this happiness and content shining in those brown orbs that were absent for such a long time. 'Nawin... You are finally beginning to move on' she thinks with great relief and joy.

Year by year, all Yao wanted is for her son to move on from that tragic day, but no matter all that she has done. All the love and support she gave him, it was still not enough. It only made things worse when Tomo, a friend who started helping Nawin up on his feet suddenly lost his life from a stupid, meaningless gang war. That catastrophic event set Nawin back to his old ways until he met Akeno and made friends here. After months has passed since they returned to Kuoh, Yao is overjoyed to see her son finally improving. He is now showing signs of genuine happiness and content with his life.

'Finally,' Yao thinks with a grin plastered on her face. She glances to the right when feeling an arm wrap around her shoulder, and sees it is from Jonathan, who also carries the same bright grin. Indicating he has the same thought as her.

"Mind helping me with the eggs, Akeno?" Nawin asks "Of course," without hesitance, the Himejima happily offer a hand to help her lover. "Since you two are managing our breakfast," Yao starts, entering the kitchen "I'll be setting the plates for a change" "Thanks, Mom," Nawin says, stirring the congee so it wouldn't get overcooked.

"Asia," Jonathan looks up at his youngest child flying around the kitchen with her familiar "Be careful not to whack your head on the ceiling" "Don't worry, Papa! Natsuno shall guide me out of harm's way." "That dragon is protective of her," Lucy comments, taking a seat at the table and decides just to watch her sister's antics until breakfast is served.

After some time has passed, everyone is now sited at the table with a bowl of Thai-style congee set in front of them. "Thanks for the food!" the family shouts in union before digging into their breakfast. Lucy takes a spoonful of the steaming congee to her mouth and blows it a couple of time before swallowing it down in one go. "Whoa!" Lucy's eyes light up then snaps to Nawin "This is delicious, Big bro!" "Glad you like it," he replies with a warm smile.

"You add all the ingredients at just a perfect a month," Yao states with a proud grin "I see you also put in some red chili for a bit of a punch taste. Well done, honey" "Thanks, Mom." "This is the best congee ever!" Asia cheers and takes another spoonful into her mouth to only squeak at the hotness. "Careful there, Asia," Akeno says, offering the girl a cup of cold water "It's still hot" "R-right," Asia graciously accept the water and gulps it down.

Akeno returns to take another spoonful of the delicious food and savors the taste. She smiles brightly and shifts to Nawin seating next to her. "It's absolutely delicious, hon" "Hearing that makes it worth it for me getting up early to prepare this," Nawin replies.

Jonathan leans over to whisper to his son's ear "I think you honestly just made a better congee than your mother" he states which garner a chuckle from the children at the table while Yao just playfully role her eyes, though not disagreeing with the comment.

For once, the Makasha family's morning is brighter than usual. Nawin watches all his family enjoying his food and feel nothing but happiness when seeing all their faces shine. For the rare time in his life, he feels content. Suddenly, Nawin's phone vibrates in the pocket which has him reach in and pulls it out to look. Seeing it is a message, Nawin taps it open to find it is from Miraya.

'Just in case you were still thinking last night was a dream... Here I am having some breakfast!' And below the message shows a picture of Miraya enjoying some Japanese-style salmon teriyaki with rice and miso soup. She wears an adorable grin while giving an innocent peace sign with her free hand. Nawin's smile considerably widens when seeing photo. 'Looks delicious... I'll see you after school' he types a quick reply before closing his phone and puts it away.

"Something wrong?" Akeno asks, noticing her lover placing his phone away at the last second "Oh, just some news notification" he replies, "Nothing important" "Ah, I see." With that matter solve, Nawin continues to enjoy the congee. He wasn't ready to reveal the miraculous news about Miraya's return just yet. Before sharing it, he wants to spend some time with her and catch up.

Time Skip: Elsewhere

"Urgh," Misako slumps forward and groans in discomfort as she makes her way to school. Accompany by Wendy and Akame. "Hmm?" Wendy turns to her best friend "Something wrong, Misako-chan?" "My body..." she whimpers "It aches... Everywhere" "Oh," Wendy giggles when noticing it is nothing serious "I guess Akame-san did not go easy on you" "She never does."

"It's for your own good," Akame swiftly answers and gets a blank stare from Misako "Jiiiiiiii," "I'm not Nawin-kun" Akame remark with a smirk "That cute stare isn't working on me, so I'm not going to go easy on you until I feel like it." Misako turns forward to the street and pouts.

"There is one thing that works against you, Akame-san" Wendy brings up which immediately catch the Knight's attention, who looks at the girl with an eyebrow raised "That is?" "Nawin-kun's needs!" Misako inserts with a grin. Not fully comprehending the meaning behind it, Akame just blinks. "Let's take it back with a few scenarios, shall we?" Misako points up.

Scenario 1

With school over Nawin decided to stay behind to finish his homework at the library in peace. Joining him at the table is Misako, Wendy, Senna, Momo, and Akame. All of them silently doing their work, wanting to finish it quickly so they can hang out afterward.

Nawin flips through the paper and continues jolting down an essay he was assigned to do. He was working through in quite an impressive speed that Senna just stares at his hand moving rapidly and fluently, writing down all the words in beautiful handwriting.

But, suddenly, the pencil snaps by the pressure put on it. All the girls shift their head to the Makasha to see the pencil. "Ops," Nawin mutters, looking at the two-piece pencil before dropping the one held in his hand. "Damn it," he sighs in annoyance "That was my last on-" "Here," out of nowhere, Akame offers her other pencil to her King.

Nawin blinks by the sudden offer before taking it "Thanks, Akame" he says, giving a grateful smile to his Knight before returning to finish the essay. Seeing her King back to work, Akame returns to doing her own homework. With the other girls too resuming with their work, Misako stares at Akame for a moment before shrugging and returns to her textbook.

Scenario 2

It is the weekend in the afternoon. Misako and Wendy decided to visit Nawin to hang out and watch some movies. Akame was also there. The four of them are in the living room, all comfortably seated on the binbags laid a few feet away from the large television on the wall.

When the second movie is over, Nawin decides to get up "I'll go make some popcorns," he informs and heads to the kitchen "You girls pick the next movie" "Okie Dokie!" Misako replies then grab the remote next to her and scroll through the many movies in Netflix.

All is quiet until the girls hear Nawin's voice from the kitchen "Damn... It seems I ran out of popcorn" he says and remerges into the living room with a disappointing expression "Gu-" "I'll go out to fetch it," Akame interrupts, standing up and immediately heads to the front door. "O-Ok," Nawin says in surprise, watching his Knight walk pass him "You want me to come alone?" he asks as she is by the door. Akame turns to look at him and gives a faint smile "It's ok. You just relax, Nawin-kun" she says before exiting and shutting the door on the way out.

Misako blinks at the event just transpired before giggling. She turns to Nawin "Well, guess we have to wait for now" "Yeah," Nawin says, scratching his head, still a bit startled by what just happened. Misako reach over and pet the empty beanbag next to her "Take a seat, for now, Nawin-kun! Help us pick a movie" "Yeah," Wendy joins. Nawin chuckles before nodding "Alright, alright. I'm coming."

Scenario 3

After a grueling day of training, the battered Misako is currently being carried on Nawin's back on the way to her home. "Ouchy," she murmurs, resting her chin on the Makasha's shoulder then smiles a bit when feeling his warmth. "Akame sure went all out," Nawin states and glance at his Knight walking beside them. She too sustains some bruises and cuts, though on a lesser degree compared to the Ichiru.

It was one of the occasions where Nawin would tagalong in their training session to observed Misako's progression. "You ok?" Nawin asks the girl on his back "Yeah," Misako whispers in a tone fit for a baby "I feel warm." Nawin lets out a soft chuckle at the innocent girl and gives her head a soft push by using his "Good job, Misako. Today you were able to deal some damage to Akame. I'm positive your sacred gear is close to revealing itself" "Yeah," Misako opens her eyes and gives the nod "I think so too... I can feel it" "That's great to hear."

It was already dark since Misako requested the training to go on longer than the usual scheduled time. Nawin's and Akame's eyes sharpen when they notice a figure emerging from the corner of the other street not far ahead. They stop and watch the person step out to the center of the lamp's light to show his appearance.

The man is dressed like a typical bounty hunter. Dusty brown cloak with the hood worn over to keep his identity a secret. Black long trousers with numerous pockets to store items, and a thick brown combat boot.

Misako stares at the man with shock and nervous, a bit intimidated by his ominous appearance. But, she is able to stay calm knowing Nawin and Akame is here.

"What is your business here, Bounty Hunter," Nawin asks in a commanding tone fitting for his status as King. Instead of answering, the Hunter merely brings his right arm up to point at the Makasha. Nawin's eyes narrow, unsurprised by the answer "Thought so... Was the money really that tempting that you would risk your own life to face me?"

Showing to be a silent individual, the Bounty Hunter reach into the coat to then pull out two shotguns on each hand. As the man is in the motion to bring the weapons up, Akame appears beside him out of nowhere and in a blink of an eye, cleaves his head clean off with the Black Thunder before clicking it back into the sheath.

"Ek!" Misako buries her head on the Makasha's shoulder just in time to avoid seeing the Bounty Hunter's head falling off. Nawin just stood still in place, startled by Akame's erupt attack. When the man's head and body hit the ground, it disperses into dust.

Misako slowly lifts her head up to look at Akame with wide eyes. 'S-She never moves that fast during training.' Akame lets out a sigh before tossing the Black Thunder away. A gap opens in the air and swallows the sword to take it back into the Pocket Dimension. Akame turns around to see both Nawin and Misako just staring at her.

Akame blinks and innocently tilts her head "Something wrong?" she asks "Nothing," Nawin replies and gives a grateful smile "Thanks for taking care of that" "Of course," Akame dutifully says and wears a faint smile. Misako just stares at Akame for a moment before a knowing grin form on her face.

Present

Akame stares at Misako and Wendy, both giving her a knowing smirk. "I don't see the problem with those scenarios," she admits, shrugging "Nawin-kun is currently in hiatus. If he is in need of something or requires assistance, then I shall be there to help him unless he says otherwise."

"You know," Misako brings her hand up to her mouth and giggles, "I think it is really sweet of you to care that much for Nawin-kun, Akame," she remarks. The Knight merely turns her head forward to look at the Academy in the distance, a noticeable blush form on her cheeks by the Ichiru's comment.

"She's not the only one though, Misako" Wendy speaks up, catching her pink-haired friend's attention "Let's not forget all those times you would drag Nawin-san to delicious sweet stores and have those weekly anime sessions at your house." Misako's face lights in a bright blush "Q-quiet!" she stutters out and tries to deliver a glare, but the Ichiru's soft and innocent face can't produce such a menacing look "You should return to being shyer again, Wendy!"

The young blue-haired girl simply giggles at her best friend flustered state. With over a month of being able to develop bonds within their group of friends, which consists of Nawin, Misako, Akame, Senna, and Momo. Wendy is able to build a bit of confidence when one of them are present with her. All of them has grown close after Nawin decided to take a hiatus and spend time with all of them. Of course, lots of girls like Senna, Akame, and Misako enjoys hanging out with the Makasha; therefore it led to the other girls like Wendy and Momo to tagalong. Soon after all of them grew close.

Wendy turns forward to watch the road ahead only to come colliding with a person strolling out of the corner. "Urgh!" both individuals drops to the ground on their bottom. "Wendy!" Misako quickly kneel to her friend's side "Are you ok?" "Y-yeah," Wendy shakes her head then gives a reassure smile "I'm fine. Is the other person ok?"

The three turn to look at the other individual and see it is a girl around their age. "I'm so sorry," the unknown person says, opening her eyes to reveal those gorgeous violet orbs, before giving an apologetic smile "I wasn't looking where I was going."

Wendy quickly gets up and shakes her head "I-It's fine. I-I wasn't looking either" she says and bows in apology. Akame remains silent and merely stare at the girl getting back to her feet. Oblivious to the fact that she is none other than Miraya Culdos.

"Are you ok?" Misako asks "Yeah," Miraya answers after dusting her skirt from the dirt on the ground. She turns to study at the three then gives a grin "Fortunately the collision wasn't severe." "Were you in a rush?" Akame question, feeling like speaking up to this unknown girl "Not really," Miraya shakes her head before beaming sheepishly "In truth, I was trying to find some cafe around the block since I'll be meeting with a friend later. He works around here" "Oh," Misako nod in understanding before giving a friendly smile "There is actually a nice one not far from here called Rainbow Sprinkles!"

"Really," Miraya sigh in relief "Thank goodness. I was worried I'd had to go to the center of town. I've been walking around here for some time now" she informs before giggling. Misako and Wendy can't help but smile at the girl's bright and cutesy attitude. Even her smile was adorable, and the aura around her carries nothing but warmth and kindness.

Misako points toward the right "You were walking in the correct direction. So, you just need to keep going straight then turn left at the end of the street to another lane. After that you'll see the cafe on the left, you can't miss it." Miraya offers a grateful smile and a bow "Thank you for your help" she says before lifting her head back up. As she looks at the girls, Miraya finally takes notice of the uniform they are wearing "Are you all attending a school around here?" "Yep!" Misako swiftly answers, "We go to Kuoh Academy," "Ah, I see. I heard it is a good school," "It is!" "Ahaha, hearing that much excitement from you, I don't doubt it."

'So, these girls go to the same school as Nawin,' Miraya notes in interest. "Well," she starts and gives a respectable bow "I shouldn't take any more of your time and cause you all to be late," she says, leaning back up and gives a grin "Take care, and thanks again for the help!"

The three girls watch Miraya's retreating form in silence. A smile makes way to Misako's face "She is very nice, and pretty too!" "Yeah," Wendy nods in agreement "I wonder if she's some kind of model?" "Could be." While Misako and Wendy turn around to resume walking to school. Akame remains standing in the same spot, her sight fix on the retreating form of Miraya. Akame doesn't know why, but she felt like she has just met with someone important. Instead of feeling like it was only another encounter with another faceless individual that she will forget the next day. That girl somehow left an impact, and Akame doesn't know why.

Time Skip: Kuoh Academy

"Something is very wrong here, boys." Riser and Yuuto blink by Issei's out of nowhere comment. Currently, it is the last break of the day in school. It is normally a quiet session for the students. Most students spend either on the courtyard or in the classroom to just relax with the thirty-minute break they are given.

The three boys are resting in the classroom that is relatively empty with the exception of a few students that are relaxing at their desks, reading or studying. Xenovia and the girls have decided to chill on the courtyard to get some fresh air rather than staying indoors.

"What are you on about, Hyoudou?" Riser asks with narrow eyes, thinking this is another one of Issei's random talk he would spew out at times. "Haven't you guys noticed it?" Issei pushes on, wearing a very serious expression "I'm sorry, but I am at a lost here, Issei-kun."

Issei cross his arms and sigh, shaking his head "You two are horrible friends" "Just spill it!" Riser exclaims in annoyance. Issei shakes his head at the Phenex's short temper. "Nawin," he says "Nawin-kun?" Yuuto repeats, tilting his head "What about him?" "Haven't you guys noticed how different he is?" "He's a bit happy today... What's the problem?" Riser asks, rolling his eyes.

"It's not only that," Issei state and looks out of the window to look at the courtyard. "He's... Different... I can't quite put my finger on it." Yuuto stares at Issei for a moment before a smile form on his lip. Unlike he or Riser, Issei was able to spot this difference because of the close bond he shares with Nawin. Clearly, even the slightest changed from the Makasha is noticeable for Issei, and of course, it would lift some concern.

"Perhaps it has to do with his Birthday being nearby," Riser throws in "Ah," Issei's expression grimace at hearing that. It hasn't been informed to the whole group yet, but he and Rias have only recently learned from Akeno about the situation involving on Nawin's birthday and his position on the matter. The news shocked him and Rias, but they can't do much if Nawin himself doesn't want his birthday to be celebrated. Which is also why Issei is very confused by Nawin's sudden shift of mood when it looked like for the past couple days, he has been more stoic and solemn almost. But, suddenly, today he is happier.

Something is up, and it annoys Issei that he doesn't know the reason. He recognizes going to Nawin and asking could be an option, but knowing his friend, the answer will be vague. Especially if the reason is personal. Even Akeno has a tough time getting answers from Nawin when it involves personal matters.

Issei looks up to see Riser and Yuuto giving him a look. Aware of that grimace expression he made. Sighing, Issei decides to let the two on the situation involving Nawin's birthday. "There's something you two should know about the birthday plan."

When Issei was done explaining the situation, both Riser and Yuuto looked nothing but shocked. "W-Wow," Yuuto rub the back of his neck, digesting the news "I did not expect this," "So even Akeno doesn't know the purpose behind his decision?" Riser asks, adopting a serious expression now "Yeah," Issei nods "She's clueless on the matter. Nawin requested her not to push on" "... Clearly, the reason is serious then."

"I can see why you are concern then," Yuuto speaks, glancing through the window "After hearing this... It is a bit bizarre to see Nawin-kun suddenly adopting a more positive emotion," "You have a point there," Riser nods in agreement. "But," Riser continues, opening his eyes to look at Issei "It's best we don't butt in just yet. Let someone like Akeno take that role," "She isn't really showing much concern about his sudden change of mood," Issei state, looking at the courtyard and see Nawin and Akeno chatting with each other under the shade of a tree, eating some snacks.

Yuuto offer a smile "Perhaps you are looking into the matter a bit too thoroughly, Issei-kun" "You think?" "I can see the sudden shift of mood Nawin-kun shows to be a bit weird, but perhaps something nice just happened to him recently. Possibly Akeno was the cause of that happiness. Maybe she gave him a nice early gift since we won't be celebrating his birthday" "Or perhaps they finally got it on," Riser throws in which cause Issei to chuckle "That could be it."

Feeling calmer on the matter, Issei turns to look at his friend. "Well, I am glad he is feeling better. If something great has happened to give him this happiness then it can only come as a good thing," "That's a good way to look at it," Yuuto comment, nodding in agreement.

Time Skip: Rainbow Sprinkles

"Umm, Miss?" a Waiter softly calls out, peering at the sleeping form of Miraya, who is resting comfortably on the leather chair with a book laid between her thighs. The teenage boy blushes a bit when examining Miraya's slumbering expression, it is so peaceful but at the same time adorable.

Feeling a bit hesitant to wake the beautiful girl up from her slumber, the Waiter gently brings his hand forward and place it on her shoulder to gives a soft shake. "Miss?" he calls out once more. Miraya's eyes snap open then she sits up straight, causing the Waiter to yelp in surprise and quickly pulls his arm back.

"Oh," Miraya blinks a couple of times to get rid of the blurry vision before offering an apologetic smile "Sorry for scaring you there," she says, seeing the nervousness in the Waiter's brown eyes. "I-It's ok," he replies, chuckling sheepishly "Sorry to wake you up," "It's fine," Miraya answers then glance to the right at the wall clock on the cafe to see it is 3pm "Actually, you woke me up at a perfect time."

Miraya picks up the book and places it in her black leather purse. Slinging the strap on the bag over her right shoulder, Miraya stands up and shift to the Waiter "Can I have the check, please" she says with a grin "O-Of course. Please follow me" the boy replies with a blush and leads her to the counter by the front door.

Miraya places the money down to pay for the drinks and food she had here. "Thank you," the Waiter gives a bow before taking the cash. "You stayed here to a long time, Miss" he comments, getting some change from the money register. "Sorry about that," Miraya gives an apologetic smile "I'm waiting for a friend to finish school near here. I didn't feel like traveling all the way out to the Center to keep myself entertain" "A-ah, I see."

The Waiter hold up the change, but Miraya raises her hand up "You keep it," she says "A-are you sure?" "Certainly, take it as my thanks for allowing me to stay here for so long and waking me up in time." The Waiter gives a bright smile "Thank you very much," he bows "You are very kind, Miss." Miraya simply gives a smile before turning around to the front door "D-Do visit again," the boy says "If I'm around the area, certainly" she replies before exiting the building.

It took Miraya a few minutes before she is on the road that leads straight to Kuoh Academy. 'Nawin told me to meet him thirty minutes after the school is over since most students would by now have left,' Misako notes, seeing the road is fairly empty of any Kuoh Academy's Students.

As Miraya quietly makes way to the Academy, she notices a student walking over the small steep on the road. The person is tough to miss with her Crimson hair glistering in the sunlight. Rias blinks when noticing a person, she has never seen before walking through this road. With the numbers of times she has walked through this way, she is able to recognize all the usual faces that use this route.

When the two comes close, both share a friendly smile to one another before crossing paths. A sudden thudding sound emits from behind that cause Miraya to stop and turn to see a textbook has just fallen from Rias's handbag that wasn't fully zipped.

"Um, Miss!" Rias snaps out of her thoughts and turns around to see Miraya kneeling to pick up her textbook on the ground before standing back up. "Oh my," Rias wears a sheepish grin "I forgot to fully zip my bag again" "Ahaha," Miraya lets out a soft laughter before lifting the textbook up "These things bound to happen at times" "True," Rias graciously takes her textbook back and give a grateful smile "Thank you for notifying me. I was in my own little world back there" "It's no problem at all."

Miraya suddenly gives a bow "Sorry, but I'm in a bit of a hurry. Take care, Miss!" she says with a bright grin before swiftly turning around to resume walking to her destination. Holding the textbook on her side, Rias stare at Miraya for a moment "What a pleasant person," she notes before placing the textbook back into the handbag, fully zipping it close this time then turns around to continue her way back home.

Miraya spot the school's entrance gate in the distance after a couple of minutes of more walking. Her smiles grow when seeing Nawin leaning by the wall, next to the gate. Arms crossed and eyes closed. 'Probably thinking of questions he wants to ask me,' Miraya notes before letting out a soft giggle.

"Hello, Nawin" Miraya stops in front of the boy. Nawin opens his eyes and lets out a short gasp when seeing Miraya's face is just a few inches away from him. "H-hey," he greets then cocks his head to the side, a faint blush form on his cheeks "A bit too close there... Miraya" "Hehehe, just teasing you" she replies, giggles before leaning back to create space.

Miraya smile "No matter how stoic you are, I can still get under your skin," "... Huh," Nawin lets out a chuckle, turning forward and wears a fond smile "Guess some things will never change" "Mm-hmm."

"So," Miraya takes a step back then tilts her head "Where are we off too, Nawin-kun?" "Let's head to the bus station and catch a ride to the Center," "Sounds like a plan." With that both Miraya and Nawin walk side by side to the bus station not far away from the Academy.

"... So," Nawin speaks "What were you up to before meeting up with me?" "After breakfast, I just wandered about this area to look around a bit before deciding to rest in a cafe and have lunch there," "Wait," Nawin glances over "You've been waiting in the cafe until the school is over?" "Yep," "You didn't have to do that, Miraya" "Ahaha, don't worry" she gives a bright grin "I had a book that kept me company and the cafe had such comfortable chairs... So comfortable that I passed out on them."

Nawin chuckles a bit "That so?" "Where is this place?" "Not far from here. On the street called Ichika. I actually found it through some help from some students in your school" "That so? Well, I'm glad they gave you a hand" "Yeah, one of them was very nice."

As the pair continues their way in comfortable silence, they make a right turn to enter a quiet street. The bus station can be soon in the distance not far. But, Nawin's expression sharpens when sensing some killing intent pouring from the dark alleyway on the left just a few meters away from them. "Miraya, stop" Nawin calls and the Culdos immediately halts when hearing the seriousness in his tone, which catches her by surprise. Never heard such a strong and booming voice from the Makasha before.

Seeing that their cover is blown. Three men step out from the shadows and block the path forward. They are dressed in attire that immediately gives away that they are part of a gang member. A gang that's likely the ones that the Makasha has beaten numerous times in the past.

"Nawin Makasha," the man stood at the center speaks, wearing a vicious grin while carrying an iron pipe in his right hand "It's been a while hasn't it?" "..." "Just going to glare at us with those fucking eyes?" the man shift his sight to Miraya "Perhaps roughing up that girl will make you speak."

The moment he heard that man's word, Nawin steps forward and brings his right arm up in front of Miraya, showing full intention he shall protect her from any danger. Miraya gasps at this and her eyes shift to Nawin, looking at him with shock 'T-those rumors were true, Nawin? You...'

"Lay even a finger on her," Nawin speaks, his voice deep and threatening "I'll beat you all to a near-death state." "Huh," the Leader of the group smirk at the threat and simply cocks his head forward "Go," he orders and the two men on the side dash forward.

"N-" Miraya is cut off when Nawin drops his backpack on the ground and begin walking toward the rapidly approaching attackers. "This is a payback for our friends you defeated!" the two shouts and swing both their arm forward at the same time. In a speed that none of three members can even register, Nawin's brings both arms up to catch their fist. "W-what?!" they utter in shock before screaming in pain when Nawin begins clenching their hands to an extreme measure.

"Gah!" both men slowly drop to their knees and groan in pain. "S-stop it" one of them scream, then he suddenly gets pull in to receive a knee to the center of his face, knocking him back to the ground. The other man gasps at his friend defeat then look up to see a right fist smash down to his forehead. Just like that, both men laid waste on the ground, knocked out and defeat.

The whole time, Miraya is watching on in speechless. She looks up and gasps "Nawin, watch out!" "Gotcha!" the Leader uses the opportunity to dash close to the Makasha and swings the pipe with both hands, aiming for the head. "W-what!" the Leader shouts in absolute shock when Nawin, in a reflex that almost seems inhuman ducks under the swing.

"You choose the wrong time to pick a fight, scum," Nawin utters and swings a vicious right uppercut that connects square at the gang member's chin and sends him flying a few meters off the ground before crashing down to the asphalt, next to his goons. The pipe falls from the air and drops under the unconscious Leader's feet.

Nawin has his back remain facing Miraya for a moment before he slowly turns around to look at her. His brown eyes show a certain hesitance in them when facing her. As if he is scared. Without a word said, Miraya makes her way forward and stops in front of Nawin.

In an action that surprises the Makasha, Miraya brings her right arm up to cup his cheek. "Do you know where I was some months?" Miraya speaks in a soft tone, her expression shows sadness "Late last year I have traveled around to many places that I wanted to visit. Round Japan to even outside of the country, going to Italy and the UK. After years of staying here in hopes that you'd return, I started losing hope, and to keep my head busy I left to these new places. But there was one place that came to my mind while I was in the UK, a place that you could be and that was Thailand. I was there in Bangkok early this year" she reveals, stunning Nawin.

Miraya's smile with great sadness that it aches the Makasha's heart and cause his eyes to soften. "I searched tirelessly for close to a month to find even a single clue on you, and as if lady luck was on my side, I finally got some information on you. A student from your previous school told me about you. How you were treated as an outcast... How you avoided people... How you behaved. I was so heartbroken when I heard that."

Nawin brings his right hand up to grasp Miraya's hand that's cupping his cheek. His eyes dishearten by her words, but he doesn't speak up. "I knew because of my death you became that way. You were lonely, weren't you? You were sad and lost. But then I learned you did something that left me utterly stunned. You got yourself involved with a Gang war and single-handedly put a hundred members from both sides to a near death-state. You are the Black Devil, aren't you?" "..." Nawin simply nods to answer "I-" "You did that because they killed your Best friend" Miraya inserts.

Miraya's eyes start welling up in tears "I'm so sorry, Nawin. You didn't deserve that... To have lost another precious person after losing me. I was so heartbroken when I learned of that." Miraya rests her forehead to Nawin's chest, her right hand still gently holding his cheek.

Wrapping his arms around Miraya and pulls her in, Nawin stares up at the sky with a soft gaze. "He was a good friend... He helped me up to my feet. No matter how much I pushed him away, he always comes through to be my friend. While everyone was avoiding me, he wanted to get close to me, to be my friend. I-I miss him." "His name is Tomo Banthaos, yes?" "Yes..." "I visited his grave," Miraya informs, shocking the Makasha "To give him my thanks for all he has done for you. Everything I heard about him has been nothing but positive." Nawin smiles warmly by Miraya's words "He was an amazing person with a gold heart."

The two remain silent for a moment to get their bearings. Then, slowly both pull apart and look at each other. Now, a smile wears on their faces. "Thank you, Miraya" Nawin whispers "Thank you for visiting his grave and thanking him. Thank you for never stopping to find me, Miraya. If... If I had known you were alive I-" "You would have done the exact same thing," Miraya finish with a bright smile "I know, Nawin."

Nawin brings his arms back, his smile wider than before. Miraya turns around to look at the unconscious gang members laid on the ground. "It seems the roles are reversed now," she speaks "Hmm?" Nawin hums, sending a confused glance. Miraya looks at him and grins "Instead of me protecting you like in the past. Now it's you that protect me."

Hearing those words trigger one of the many memories he has suppressed for so long. A memory involving Miraya.

Flashback

It was a bright sunny day. The sun was freely shining above the cloudless dark blue skies. It was a beautiful day for kids to go play outside and get a bit of sun on their skin.

One of the biggest parks in Kuoh is currently occupied by many kids and their parents. It was a perfect day for a nice family picnic. So easily over a hundred family has their blankets laid on the clean cut grass and enjoy the day with their loved ones.

While the kids were playing with the playground equipment. A six-year-old Nawin decided to enjoy some time in the sandbox. He is currently in the process of building a sandcastle. Bunch of plastic equipment laid on his right. The adorable boy wears nothing but a bright grin as he carefully shapes the sands with his hands to create the pillars to hold up the castle.

As Nawin was ready to grab the plastic shovel to dig up more sand until three shadow figures appear in front that causes him to blink before slowly looking up to see three girls standing there. All of them looks to be a bit older than the Makasha.

"Looky what we have here!" the tallest one stood in the middle speak, looking down at Nawin with a cocky smirk. The two other girls just giggle mischievously. "H-hello," Nawin innocently greet the three, wearing a faint smile "Do you want to play here too?" "Hah! In the sandbox?!" the tall one snorts "We aren't a baby like you!"

"Adults still plays sand in the beach," Nawin comments, blinking in confusion by the logic coming from the girl's mouth. "Oh," the tall girl's eyes narrow in annoyance "Being smart, aye?" Nawin gasp in horror when the girl suddenly kicks his sandcastle. The pillars and walls that he worked so hard on crumbles by the blow, turning into nothing but a pile of sand.

The girl pulls her feet back and smirks at the Makasha's shock expression "Got anything smart to say now, huh?" "Oh look," the other girl comments, laughing "He's crying!" Tears well around Nawin's big brown eyes before dripping down his cheek. He looks up at the girls with a weak expression. "Got nothing to say?" the tall girl mocks before laughing along with the other girls.

"Leave him alone!" a voice shouts from the side, that causes the three girls to halt laughing then looks and see a six-year-old Miraya stopping in front of Nawin, her little right arm raise up protectively to cover him. Miraya glares at the three girls "Don't be a jerk!"

"Ahaha, what are you going to do?!" the tall girl step forward "I can make you cry like your friend there." Miraya remains strong then reach her right hand to her trousers' pocket. "You'll be the one that's crying!" she shouts, bringing her hand out of the pocket "Take this!"

"KYAAAAA!" the three girls scream in fear when a large black spider is thrown at them by the Culdos. "It's poisonous!" Miraya informs, as the spider lands on the ground. "KYAAA! YOU ARE CRAZY!" the tall girls shriek before turning around and scurry off with her friends following closely behind.

"... Hehehe," Miraya giggles and rest her hands on her hip in victories, looking at the toy spider standing unmoved on the grass. She turns around and enters the sandbox to kneel in front of the Makasha, who's looking at her with teary eyes. "M-Miraya," he chokes "I'm here, Nawin" she replies with a bright grin then brings her right hand up to wipe away the tears "Sorry for being late."

Nawin shakes his head and smiles "It's ok... Thank you," "No problem!" Miraya giggles "I need to protect you now, don't I?" she says and gets an adorable pout from Nawin "I-I can protect myself" "Perhaps in the future, but not right now." Miraya grins and softly pinches the Makasha's chubby cheek "I'll be the one doing the protection until you grow stronger."

Present

Nawin closes his eyes, a soft smile grows on his face "I remember that day... You used a plastic spider to scare those three girls away" "Ahahaha," Miraya giggles and grins fondly "They were so terrified that they didn't even realize the thing wasn't moving when it hits the grass." Nawin shakes his head and chuckles at the memory, finding it very humorous looking back at it now.

Miraya brings both her arms forward to grasp Nawin's right hand, which cause him to look at her in surprise. She smiles happily "When I learned of that incident in Bangkok. I was both sad and happy. Sad that you lost Tomo but Happy that you have grown so strong to be able to protect yourself."

Nawin smiles and grasps Miraya's hand "In the end, even when he was gone... Tomo helped me to become the person I am today. He gave me the determination to start changing. All those countless hours of training I put myself through. I wouldn't be able to have gotten through them if it wasn't for Tomo" "He was with you the entire way until you brought justice to those Gangs. I've heard all of them are in jail now, likely staying there for the rest of their lives" Miraya informs.

"But," Nawin speaks, his eyes sadden "To tell you the truth, Miraya. I didn't beat up those Gangs with a sense of justice... I beat every single one of them to near death out of revenge. Revenge for Tomo" "... Truly?" "Yes, I was so angered and filled with rage when I saw them. Saw their disgusting eyes to see nothing but selfishness and subjective in their stupid goal. Tomo was killed because of their selfish and meaningless war for territories. He was nothing but an innocent bystander. All those thoughts ran through my mind, and I just lost it... I went in there, in the middle of their battle and beaten every single one of them" "Even so, you saw it as the wrong way of approaching it, no?" "Yes..." "And in the end, justice was served. All those horrible people are now in jail because of you. So," Miraya give a supportive smile "Don't beat yourself over that anymore. In the end, you brought justice to Tomo's death, and prevented any more casualty from happening." Nawin looks up at Miraya and nods "Yeah... You're right."

"Now," Miraya release Nawin's hand and takes a few steps back, crossing her arms behind and grin "Show me that bright smile before we head to the center!" Nawin chuckles before giving in to the request and shows a smile "Not wide enough," Miraya pouts which gets a burst of laughter from the Makasha.

"… Thank you, Miraya," Nawin says, looking at the girl "For this talk. You helped clear my head on the matter," "Of course," Miraya grins before taking his hand "If you ever need an ear to listen, I'm here for you." Nawin feels warmth and serenity pour into his heart and mind. Usually, he is the one that would lend an ear to others, listening to their problem and help solve them. But now there is someone that would wholeheartedly listen to his problems and finds ways to assist him. It's just like in the past. No matter what, Miraya always knows the right words to help him. She can read him like an open book.

With a slightly bigger smile plastered on his face, Nawin allows Miraya to guide him forward to the bus station.

Makasha Household

"Howdy!" Akeno blinks and looks up from the desk to see Rias standing by the open window. Clearly just jumped through it and now stood in the room. "Rias," Akeno greets her friend with a smile before lowering the pen to the desk, next to a pile of homework they have received for this week.

Rias walks over to the bed to take a seat then turns around to face Akeno. "So," she starts, swinging her legs up and down "Where's Nawin-kun?" "He's currently out," Akeno answers, "Said he had to meet with someone," "Who?" "I didn't ask..." "Ah," Rias smile and nod "Oh? You are slowly lowering that possessive instinct for him, Akeno" "I learned displaying that kind of action can be damaging," Akeno replies and looks out the window "It makes it seem I don't have trust in Nawin-kun and that's not good for our relationship" "Mhm-hmm, I agree wholeheartedly."

"By the way, on the subject of Nawin-kun," Akeno turns to see Rias looking at her with questionable eyes "He seems quite happy today... Did something happen?" "He is in a more positive light today," Akeno utters "He even surprised the rest of the family and me this morning by cooking breakfast for us" "Really?!" Rias exclaims in surprise, knowing just how lazy and grumpy the Makasha is in the morning. Thinking him preparing breakfast is quite shocking.

Akeno nod to confirm "He says he wanted to return the favor since it's always Yao and I that does the cooking" "That's considerate of him." Akeno remains silence as she thinks back to this morning and remembers just how content Nawin is. An emotion he carried throughout the day. Akeno would like to believe that after months of together and with things settling down recently, Nawin begins to feel satisfied and happy with where his life is. She wants to badly believe that but somewhere deep in her mind, she feels like that isn't the whole reason. There's a bigger picture to all of this.

Rias see her friend deep in thought. Clearly, even though she hasn't shown it, Akeno is wondering about the sudden change from Nawin. "Akeno," Rias speaks up in a soft tone and catch the Himejima's attention "Don't go overthinking on the matter and start drawing conclusions. You are his girlfriend so if there's something Nawin wants to discuss to clear his mind... You will be his first choice."

Akeno smile and nods, feeling better on the matter after her friend's words "Yeah, you're right. I'm probably overthinking things. I should just be happy that he's happy" "Indeed," Rias nod. "Now! Let's watch some movies!" "Ufufufu, we still got homework, Rias" "That can wait! We still have a few more days to complete them!" "Ufufu, alright, alright."

Center of Kuoh

When the pair arrived in the Center via the bus. Nawin and Miraya spent the next few hours just wondering around and chatting with one another. Nawin took Miraya to a couple of new landmarks. They had a casual stroll around the largest mall in Kuoh. All the two wanted was to chat with one another. Most of their subjects are none serious, such as their thoughts on how much Kuoh has changed compared to the past, reminiscing at some area they have once been before.

Before the two knew it, the sun has already set, and night has arrived. Nawin decided to have dinner with Miraya. He shot a text to inform his Mother and Akeno that he won't be home for dinner so the two wouldn't worry.

After a bit of discussion, Nawin and Miraya both selected to have Korean BBQ for dinner. A style of dish they very much enjoy. Fortunately, there was plenty of BBQ restaurants in the Center of Kuoh, so it wasn't long until the pair found themselves seated in a private booth with a Korean style charcoal grill set between them.

"Hehehe," Miraya giggles and looks across at Nawin, who raises his eyebrow "What's so funny?" he asks with a calm smile "I used to remember you loved this type of food so much that you'd dragged your family and me to these kinds of restaurants all the time." Nawin chuckles "What can I say? Back then I love Barbeque very much."

Miraya grabs the bottle of special sauce the restaurant offers for the meats to be dipped in and proceeds to pour it on both their cups. "So," she speaks "You don't eat barbeque often anymore?" "Only on special occasion... Though," Nawin lets out an amusing smile "A dear friend of mine has dragged me out to a couple of Barbeque nights lately" "Oh," Miraya tilts her head in intrigue as she sets the bottle down on the black marble table "Who's this person?" "Her names Akame. She loves eating, with meat being her favorite type of food. The amount that girl can eat is terrifying at times" "Ahaha, I would love to see her have an eating contest with the young you" Miraya comments which have Nawin lets out a laugh "I was a big eater back then. It would be an interesting contest."

"But, yeah" Nawin smiles warmly "Akame is a dear friend of mine. Someone I can wholeheartedly trust... I think you two would get along well" "Can't wait to be introduced to her," Miraya replies with a bright grin.

"So," Miraya takes a sip of cold water from a straw before pulling back to look at Nawin "Is there any more friends that you are close with, Nawin?" "Well," setting his arms comfortably on the table, the Makasha looks at the girl across "I guess the next person I should mention is Issei," "Issei? A boy?" "Yeah. At first, he and I didn't really get along that well" "Sounding familiar here, darling" "Ahaha, but I had a good reason, ok?" "Which is?" "The guy was a massive pervert and a bit of a clown" "That... Is a valid reason" Miraya state with a nod.

Nawin chuckles before continuing "So when we first met, we did not get along well. I didn't hide my displeasure on him being invited to join our group," "Group?" Miraya repeats in confusion "I joined a club in school. The Occult Club. Quite a private club. You can only enter if you are sent an invitation" "Oh, that's nice. You always showed fascination on the supernatural topic" "Yeah, though I start losing interesting soon later." "One thing," Miraya ask "Why would the Club Leader offer an invitation to a person like Issei?" "Our Club Leader is..." a picture of Rias appears in Nawin's mind, her devious smile shines and her mischievous giggles emits "A bit of a weird person..." "Ahaha, sounds like it."

"But," Nawin wears a warm smile as he continues "As time goes by... I begin to see that Issei holds a very good heart. He is a kind person who would go as far as making a fool of himself to have his friends laughs. If there were ever a grim mood fallen on the group, he would be the first one to jump in and try to brighten the situation. As I saw these traits in him, I begin to respect Issei and soon... We begin to grow closer until one day..." An image of that moment in Shigemi appears in Nawin's mind, the moment when He and Issei decided to use the moonstone to fused, "I was able to call him my Best friend."

Miraya is taken with surprise by the last part. Finding it unexpected that after Tomo, Nawin would be able to find someone that can step in that role so soon. Miraya knows that Nawin doesn't easily allow anyone to get close to him. He examines people and sees what kind of person they are. If they have certain bad traits that he dislikes, then he won't bother with them. Hearing that this Issei was able to gain such a special place in Nawin's heart speaks volumes to her.

"Do you see a bit of Tomo in him?" Miraya question "Yes," Nawin replies with a soft smile "Both of them possess a great heart, and their kindness is in the right place." "Well," Miraya beams "I'm glad you are able to have such a friend, Nawin. Aside for a few rough edges, Issei sounds like a nice guy" "Mhm-hmm."

"Your orders are here!" an energetic Waiter comes through the curtains, holding a large tray that carries many varieties of meats and vegetables on the red plates. The man skillfully sets all the plates down then turn to look at the pair, giving them a bright smile. "Here's all your orders!" "Thank you," Miraya replies with her own bright grin which causes the man to stammer a bit and blushes before bowing, then turns around to exit the private booth quickly.

"Still a tease after all these years," Nawin remark, and Miraya giggles before sending him a wink "You love it," "Can't say I hate it. I always find that you are very attractive when you tease... Something to do with your eyes." Miraya blushes faintly by the erupt compliment before smirking "That so?" "There it is... When you tease, your eyes will sharpen" "When I teased back then people got afraid" "Because you would do it with that devilish grin," Nawin state with affection.

A soft smile makes way on Miraya's face "You never were afraid of me, were you?" "Afraid of you?" Nawin shakes his head "Never in this lifetime, Miraya." The pair stare at each for a moment, carrying a glowing smile. "Now," Nawin shifts attention to the many plates of food laid on the side of the table. "Let's start setting all these food on the grill" "Yep! I am starving" "Same here."

Grabbing a plate that contains slices of bacon, Miraya uses her other hand to reach for the stainless-steel tong then begins setting the meat down on the hot grill. The bacon immediately starts sizzling when hitting the rack. "Music to your ears?" Miraya asks with a grin "After all these years it still is," Nawin says then lets out a soft chuckle.

The pair set as much food onto the large grill until there's no room left. After that, both set aside the tongs and wait for all the meats to properly cook. In the meantime, Miraya digs into a small bowl of spicy salad she ordered. She quietly swallows the delicious appetizer before looking up to see Nawin giving her a blank look. "Hmm?" Miraya sets the fork down "Something wrong?" "Not gonna share?" "..." Miraya gives a weird look "Nawin... You loathe vegetables."

Without a word said, Nawin takes his fork and reach over to stab a few pieces of lettuce then brings it into his mouth, chewing it then swallows. All the while, Miraya looks on with wide eyes and her mouth slightly agape. "I never thought I'd see the day!" she exclaims and points at Nawin "You actually ate a salad without vomiting! This is a miracle!" "You are being a bit overdramatic here, Miraya" Nawin replies, sweatdropping while setting the fork down.

Miraya gives a straight look while crossing her arms "I've known you since forever, Nawin. I have been through all the tantrums you would throw when your Mom or Dad would try to feed you anything related to green! For goodness sake, once you tried some kimchi and not even a minute later, you ran to the toilet to vomit it out!" "... Keep your voice down," Nawin utters, getting flustered.

"Hehehe," Miraya giggles, then proceeds to lift her fork and stab more salad in the bowl before bringing it forward to Nawin. "One more time, so I know this isn't a dream," she says with a grin, half teasing and half serious. Nawin looks at the many greens in front of him for a few seconds before opening his mouth to have the Culdos feed him. Miraya pulls the fork back and watches Nawin chews the salad before swallowing it.

"There," Nawin says "I'm so proud of you," Miraya state, setting the fork down while wearing a bright grin "I was always worried you'll never be able to eat vegetables in your life" "When I started training and transforming my body... I had to start eating them to achieve quicker results" "That makes sense."

"Now that you mentioned it," Miraya examines Nawin with keen eyes for a moment. A small smile of relief and joy appears. "I didn't state this earlier, but you've grown very well Nawin. Once a cute boy matures into a handsome and strong one." Miraya grins "You even gotten taller than me now!" "Thanks," Nawin lets out a soft chuckle "You also have changed in some ways, Miraya" "In what ways exactly?" she asks with genuine curious "You look more mature and beautiful."

Miraya's violet orbs glints of mischief "Mature... Care to elaborate?" she asks in a coy tone which immediately causes Nawin to blush and turns his head to the side "Y-you know... Personality and b-body wise" "Ahahaha," Miraya burst into a fit of giggles before waving her right hand "Alright, alright, I got it, Nawin. I think that's enough teasing for now" she states, grinning in amuse.

Nawin glares at the beaming girl with stern eyes "You know... I take back that personality comment. You are still childish as ever," he utters, which only amuses Miraya further and have her let out a melodic laugh.

With their conversation halting for the moment, both take a look at the grill to see most of their food is cooked and ready to be eaten. Miraya smile and grabs the plastic chopsticks. "Let's dig in, Nawin" "Indeed, all this talking has made me even hungrier" "Ehehe, same here."

Time Skip

After finishing their dinner, both agreed it's best to call it for the night. And before returning to his home, Nawin decided to take Miraya to her motel. A choice that amuses the Coldus slightly. When she said it was fine, the Makasha stood firm and said he is going to take her home and that's the end of discussion. Miraya just giggles and acquiesce. Seeing her dear friend showing a bit of protective nature towards her. Though Miraya isn't complaining, she holds that kind of instinct towards Nawin as well for certain situations.

"So..." Miraya speaks as the two walks through the quiet and dimly lit street. "Does this still feel like a dream to you, Nawin?" "If it is... It would be the best one I ever had. I would never want to be pulled awake from it" he replies in a soft tone, glancing up at the starry night sky.

Miraya gives a soft bump to the Makasha's shoulder and smirks "Come now, don't speak in such a sad tone" "Sorry," Nawin turns and gives a faint smile "But to imagine that this could be a dream... That's horrifying" "I know... Yesterday night while I was walking back to the motel, I wondered to myself if that moment we were reunited was real. After all these years of separation... I was finally reunited with you."

"But," Miraya wears a bright grin "Waking up this morning and remembering the previous night. Remember feeling your warmth when our forehead touched. I knew that it wasn't a dream," "I felt the exact same way," Nawin state.

Not long after the pair reach the Gray Lotus. Nawin takes a moment to examine the place and sees it is like any other motels around the area. The only difference is the huge neon billboard displaying its name. The building is bigger than most motel he has seen in Kuoh. Nawin scans around and spots a few security guard posts in the area.

"Good to see it has some security," Nawin comments "Some motels don't offer those" "Yeah, I was glad to see that. The room is actually not that bad, quite big" "Expensive?" "Nah, it's doable." "So," Miraya turns to Nawin and smile "I meant to bring this up today, but when will I be seeing Little Lucy along with your Mom and Dad, Nawin?" "Ah," Nawin nods "That has crossed at the back of my mind... Let's do it after I finished school tomorrow, ok?" "Sounds good. You seem a bit nervous," "Shouldn't I be? All of us thought you were dead, Miraya. They will be as shocked as I was" "That is a valid fact."

"But," Nawin claps his right hand down on Miraya's shoulder, giving her a positive smile "I want them to see you. Your death not only affected me but them too. For years... Lucy just thought you moved away since she was too young to understand, but when she finally found the true reason through Mom... She cried in her room for a whole day" "Poor girl... Even though we had our fights. I loved her" "The feeling was mutual. You know that, right?" "Of course," Miraya snickers "The girl's stubborn but she can't hide her true feeling. I've spotted those small smiles she would let out."

Nawin sees Miraya getting into deep thought then sees her body start tensing up a bit. Probably feeling nervous to see his family after so many years. "Miraya," Nawin whispers, which cause her to look up at him "I'll be there right beside you. It's only naturally for you to feel a bit nervous" "Yeah, but I am excited. Furthermore," she grins "I can't wait to see all your friends! Along with this Akeno that was able to capture your heart" "You will see all of them tomorrow" Nawin state with a warm smile.

The pair stare at each other for a moment in peaceful silence. Both wearing comforting smiles. "Well," Miraya speaks and leans forward to plant a kiss on the Makasha's cheek before leaning back "Today has been a beautiful day, Nawin. It brings me immense joy that we were able to catch up this evening." Nawin's smile widens as he feels his heartbeat risen from the affectionate gesture. Even after all these years, a simple kiss on the cheek from Miraya was able to have his heart beat faster.

"Having you back, Miraya..." Nawin whispers, looking at her in the eyes "Makes me feel like my life is complete once again," "Same as I" Miraya replies with a beautiful smile that radiates the night.

With reluctance from both parties, they separate from one another. "Goodnight, Miraya," Nawin utters "I'll come by to pick you up tomorrow after school, then we'll go to my house" "Sounds like a plan. Goodnight, Nawin." Giving one last smile, Miraya turns around to head for the building.

Nawin stays behind to watch the Culdos enter the motel safely. With a soft smile plastered on his face, Nawin slides his hands into the jean's pockets before turning around to head home. Feeling nothing but happiness and content swirling in his heart.

Elsewhere

"... What's the holdup, Noel?" a soft, monotone voice speaks with an edge of annoyance heard. The blonde man simply hums while leaning back on a brick wall in the dark and secluded alleyway. He opens his eyes to look at the person across of him. Ivory Sayaka. One of the delinquents in Kuoh Academy.

"Care to elaborate? I still don't comprehend why you called for this meeting?" Noel asks politely "It's been over a month since I decided to join your little band and I still haven't met this Mistress of yours... I'm starting to think this is a joke," "I have sent a report on your recruiting to our base already. And," Noel smile elegantly "I have received a reply today."

Ivory cross her arms and looks straight into the man's eyes "What does it say?" "The letter was quite long and talked about other matters that don't concern you. So, the long or short version?" "Short. Just get to the point" "Very well. Prove yourself that you are worthy to join us" Noel reveals.

"What?!" Ivory's eyes flare in irritant, and her expression hardens "Now I have to prove myself? I thought I am already part of the group!" "I was the one that said that but if Mistress Sayomi says otherwise then my decision has been reversed," "This woman is starting to annoy me," "A word of advice, if you happen to join us... For your own safety, you should correct that disrespect nature of yours toward Mistress Sayomi. You may think you are strong, perhaps the strongest here currently, but when it comes to her... You are a mere pebble on the road that can be knocked aside by a simple kick."

Annoyance shifts to intrigue in the eyes of Ivory when she hears this. With what little she has known of Noel in the past month, she believes he isn't an individual that would lie or exaggerate in matters. Hearing how strong this Sayomi is greatly peak Ivory's curiosity and gives her more motivation to join this group.

Ivory release a sigh before cocking her head up to look at the skies. "Then what must I do to prove myself?" "Anything you want," Noel says, surprising the blonde beauty "There's no specific task you need to do. Use your brain and do something that you think will give her enough to take you in. I'll say this once again, Ivory Sayaka... Our group isn't some nameless bunch that merely assembles powerful individuals to start some stupid revolution. If you join us... Expect the entire supernatural world to have their eyes set on you" "I'm fine with that," Ivory utters with a dark smirk creeping to her face "As long as I get to fight, I'm happy. Joining your group will give me plenty of those opportunities" "It shall indeed."

"So," Noel tilts his head and gives a bright smile "What is your plan, hmm?" "... She'll be watching, right?" "I can't say for certain, but there will be eyes on you. Either from her or from her second in command" Noel state in honest. "Then one of them can watch me bring the Black Flash out of Hiatus by going after his precious peerage," Ivory reveals her plan "Oh," Noel raise an eyebrow at the boldness of the plan "Are you positive you want to do that? Pulling him out of hiatus by attacking those close to him will serve only to enrage him... Do you honestly think you can face the Black Flash head on?"

"One way to find out," Ivory says and leans off the wall to stand up, dropping her hands into the jacket's pockets. "Ever since I overhead from the devils speaking about his temporary hiatus. I wanted to be the one to drag him out of it, and this just give me the perfect reason. I want to see what he's got," "Getting yourself killed won't do any favor for you or us," Noel advise "If I get killed then I am useless to your group, to begin with," Ivory retorts.

Noel watches Ivory striding out of the alleyway, impress shines in his gold color eyes by the girl's fearlessness. It almost made him believe that she will come out victories in the upcoming event. "I wish you luck then, Ivory," "There's no such thing as luck," Ivory retorts before exiting the alleyway.

Noel merely chuckles at the Sayaka seriousness. "Hopefully you won't die so soon, Ivory" he utters before withering away into white feathers. Soaring away through the calm night sky.
