I'm very sorry for the late update, everyone!

This was supposed to be uploaded last week, but some important matter just appeared that required my immediate attention.

Now, I hope you all enjoy this chapter!

Also! On a side note, I had to change the Arc's name since FF holds limited words for their title. I'll still have this Arc called : Past Unearth, Path Of Light And Dark.

Entering the main hall, Noel gently shuts the large, polished wooden door from behind. An expression of troubled is etched on his handsome face. A look very foreign on the usually calm and collective individual that would regularly carry a warm smile. In truth, he is the only person in Sayomi's group to hold a gentler and kinder impression. Freed would exude a disgusting and cruel presence. Raynare is one of unease even though she would normally retain that tranquil expression. Then there's their Mistress. Sayomi Dracul, who with a glance alone can send even the toughest of beings to their knees in mere seconds. She is the definition of power and demands order.

"Why the long face?" Noel blinks and shifts his sight up to see Raynare gracefully descending the marble stairs. Her piercing red eyes stare straight at him. Noel has taken notice that when she's not in battle, her pupils are usually oval to resemble that of a human. He has seen just how dangerous his superior can get when those pupils turn slit. "I..." Noel releases a heavy sigh "Because of my inexperience in this field of recruiting... I allowed Silver to be killed." "You feel guilty?" "Difficult not to... Her death symbolized my failure. And I hate failing... Especially when it comes at the cost of an individual's life."

Stepping onto the red carpet, Raynare's eyes gleam in fascination with how sincere those words were from her underling. "I can now see why our Mistress holds a tiny soft spot for you." Noel's eyes widen slightly by those words and shift his eyes from the ground to Raynare, watching her stop in front of a window and gaze at the scene he just left.

From that very window display the tombstone of Silver placed on the earth. Personal done by Noel himself. Seated in front of the headstone are Farah and Ivory. Both quietly grieving over their deceased friend. Raynare's expression remains calm and collective as always when gazing at the scene.

"Do you feel sad when observing this scene?" Raynare question, "... Yes, I do." "Out of all of us... You are the most human here, Noel. And in truth... It is welcomed." "Truly?" Noel asks with slight skepticism. Believing that trait about him is something he assumed Raynare to see as a weakness.

Raynare turns around to look at Noel in the eyes. "Do you think Mistress Sayomi would just blindly accept any individuals to join her organization?" "I don't believe so..." "Precisely. She admitted to me that placing Schynzel on the recruitment task was bad judgment on her part. Because the people he was trying to recruit were nothing but vile and savage characters that only care about destruction. Types she doesn't require for her goal." "... We have Freed," Noel counters with slight amusement in his tone.

A small smirk crack on Raynare's face. "The only reason Freed is even standing right now in our Mistress presence is because of his unquestionable devotion for her. Nothing more, nothing less. He has his uses in limited fields. He is different from you and me." "How so?" "Do I have you spell it out to you?" "... No."

Raynare stops beside the younger man and gives him a single pet on the shoulder. "Mistress trust you with Ivory and Farah. If she didn't, then they would have been killed, and you'd be severely punished. You've done well even if you failed Silver. Now," Raynare releases her grip and begins walking down the right hallway. "Move past your mistakes... Because we all will face more losses in the future. Focus on training Ivory and Farah to get them stronger, Noel. Make that task become a way for you to fix your error with Silver."

As Noel watch the retreating form of Raynare in silence, he shifts gaze to the front door. 'You handpicked them, Noel. Now, they are your responsibility. Train them and get them stronger. Don't fail me. I have a high expectation of you.' Those were the words Sayomi uttered to him before she exited through that door yesterday. As soon as she took them here, she had to leave not a minute later. None dared question.

With those words replying in his mind. Noel's eyes brighten in determination. "I won't fail them... And I won't fail you, Mistress Sayomi."

Kuoh

The first thing that greets Nawin when opening his eyes is Miraya's sleeping face. He finds his right arm gently wrapped around her slender waist. Her own soft hand gently pressed on his in a comforting manner. They are facing each other and close enough to feel their breath. Instead of scooching back or giving a shock reaction. Nawin simply wears a warm smile as seeing them in this position starts bringing back memories of the past.

Memories of all the times Miraya would tuck Nawin into bed when he is either unable to sleep or had nightmares. Never once did she said no or looked reluctant to do so. She always wore that beautiful and kind smile on her face as she kissed him goodnight. She was indeed his light for the longest times. And now, having her back, Nawin still sees that Miraya can shine so much life and joy into his world.

"You look like you just want to stay like this all day," an amusing and teasing comment comes out from Miraya's mouth as she opens her gorgeous eyes. They stare at each over for a moment before a soft chuckle escapes the Makasha's lip. "I wouldn't mind. I am mighty comfortable right now." Miraya quietly giggles then gently squeeze the hand she's holding. "Good Morning, Nawin" "Good Morning, Miraya."

The pair didn't move just yet and simply stare at one another. "Did you sleep well?" Miraya asks, "Yes... Actually, I had one of the best sleep. Thanks to you, of course. You were able to ease my mind last night," Nawin state, his smile widens ever slightly. Miraya wears a soft grin and closes her eyes. She leans her forehead first to press it with Nawin's. "It's one of my life's duties to keep you happy, Nawin. Nothing is ever going to change that." Nawin closes his eyes to feel the warmth coursing through his body. "And what is my life's duty towards you?" "Be happy and be safe... That's all you have to do to make me feel the happiest I can be, Nawin."

Knowing they can't merely there in bed forever, the pair reluctantly left the comfy position and stood up off the bed. Nawin stated that he should head home to take a shower, but Miraya offered for him to shower here. Taken aback by the offer, he asks if she is okay with that and the Culdos waves it off to show she doesn't mind the least.

"Ahhh," Nawin release a soft sigh as the cold water falls from the sprinkler and wash over his body. Rensing off the little specks of dirt and sweat he received from last night battle. Nawin always preferred showering in cold water in the morning as it is an easy way to kick him awake.

Glancing back, Nawin take in the sheer size of the bathroom. It looks like any traditional Japanese bathroom, but he wasn't expecting it to be this large for a simple motel. It could easily fit in more than two people. Pressing his right hand against the wall, Nawin leans forward to have the cold water flow down on his head. Another pleasant sigh escapes his mouth.

A soft knock suddenly comes from the door that causes Nawin to perk up. "Yes?" he calls out "Nawin, do you want me to wash your back?" Miraya's question cause the Makasha to immediately pulls his head away from the water and snaps toward the door. His eyes are wide in shock. "P-Pardon?!" "Ehehe, I can just imagine a huge blush on your face right now," she giggles from the other end. And it is true, Nawin's cheeks show noticeable pink tints on them. "But, in all seriousness, I thought it would be nice. I used to wash your back all the time when we were kids. Also, since we overslept a bit, the breakfast menu will be ending soon. So it's wise to save time."

Nawin stares the wooden door for a moment in silence. He understood the reason Miraya's giving is logical. And truthfully, he doesn't have the heart to turn her down. Especially after what she did for him last night. "Okay... You can come in."

The wooden door slides open and Miraya steps in with a towel tightly wrapped around her slender body. Nawin mentally sighs at this. Worried that his friend would enter naked. "W-wait!" Nawin realizes he is naked and quickly snatches a towel laid by the tub and wraps it around his waist. Miraya watched the entire scene with immense amusement. "Nice butt there, darling" she playfully comments which gets a massive blush from the Makasha.

Without a word said, Nawin takes a seat on the small plastic chair. He glances back to see Miraya kneeling behind him. She grabs a bucket and fills it with water. Though her body is wrapped in a towel. Nawin can see just how much she's developed. Even when entering her early teenage years, Miraya was more developed than the other girls Nawin seen. Now she has reached her peak. Her beauty can rival that of the supernatural world's females. Bountiful and perfectly shaped breast. Smooth and creamy white complexion. Rich, luscious dark purple hair. All the curves in the right places on her hourglass figure. It's hard to describe Miraya as anything but perfect. Her beautiful appearance matches her charming and caring personality.

When seeing the bottle of soap she used finished mixing with the water, Miraya dips the blue-colored body scrubber in her right hand down to the bucket, soaking it in the soapy liquid before bringing it forward and press it on Nawin's back. With gentle care, Miraya begins washing her friend's back.

"... You sure this is fine?" Nawin suddenly speaks after a minute of silence. Miraya dips the scrubber into the bucket while she blinks at the question. "What makes you say that?" she replies calmly, not sharing the feeling of awkwardness as her childhood friend does. "I don't know... It's just now that we are older. This act is a bit weird." Miraya lets out a soft giggle and returns to scrubbing. "I believe even back then our relationship wasn't precisely normal, Nawin. We were closer than most friends we'd seen. Anyway, I don't mind this since whether it was back then or now, Nawin. You are the only person that's allowed to see me like this."

A faint blush continues to don on the Makasha's cheek as he simply gives a small nod at Miraya's words. "You know," Nawin shivers when feeling Miraya's breath near his right ear, "I wouldn't mind if you get a bit touchy with me," she whispers in a coy tone. "MIRAYA!" Nawin shouts, snapping his head around and glares. A bright blush covers his entire face. Miraya burst out laughing at her friend's reaction. "Ehehe, I'm just kidding!" she sticks her tongue out then ruffles Nawin's soak hair with her left hand. "Now, turn forward, darling" "Grgghh." With a grunt, the Makasha does as he is told.

Miraya continues to giggle when seeing Nawin's expression. He now looks like a grumpy child. After a moment of silence and Miraya moved to clean Nawin's right arm. Seeing that he didn't speak up, she continued on with not just the back. Though Miraya is enjoying the comforting silence, she wants to strike more conversations. "Seeing you like this really shows the result of your training, Nawin" Miraya state with a warm smile "Not too bulky... I don't find big, bulky men attractive as much. You are leaner and with just enough muscles. It fits you well." Nawin cracks a small smile "Do you prefer this over slightly chubby Nawin?" "Ehehe, no one can beat child-Nawin. He was the most adorable boy in the world. But he has grown into a handsome and charming guy, so it's not a total loss" Miraya remark with a teasing tone.

The Culdos moves on to the left arm. "Akeno sure is lucky to see you like this all the time," she states with a chuckle, gently swiping the scrubber down the arm. "Oh... Akeno and I don't do this washing each other's back thing" "That so?" Miraya raises an eyebrow at this fact while Nawin simply nod. "Why is that?" she chooses to press on it "I don't know. Guess it never came to mind or it just doesn't feel right when I picture that scenario."

A small frown form on Miraya's face. She wasn't oblivious. She has taken notice at all these little clues on the relationship between Nawin and Akeno. With all of them added up, she is beginning to see that there's some kind of wall hindering the couple from getting closer. Reason for that wall existing? She doesn't have the answer now. And she doesn't like it. But even though Miraya isn't a fan of quickly jumping to a conclusion without substantial evidence. In her heart and honest opinion, she believes this wall is more from Akeno's side than Nawin's.

With the washing done, Miraya pulls another sprinkler from the wall and spray the water down Nawin's body to get rid of all the soap in one go. Releasing the trigger, she sets the sprinkler down and smiles. "There we go. Now, you mind returning the favor?" "... Sure," Nawin mutters, glancing at the side as a faint blush reappears on his cheeks which just give Miraya a reason to giggle in amusement.

Pulling the other chair over, Miraya turns around to have her back face the Makasha then takes a seat. In a swift motion, she unties the towel and hangs it by the tub. "Okay, I'm ready." Nawin turns around and grabs another scrubber he intended to use before Miraya came in. He dips it on the bucket and begins to wash the Culdos's back.

Unlike Nawin at the beginning. Miraya is entirely calm with the session. Her shoulders show no sign of tenseness. Seeing this brings a small smile on Nawin's face. It shows she completely trust him. Like always. Nothing has changed at all during their separation. And that facts give nothing but warmth and joy in Nawin's heart. The Miraya seated right in front of him is the same Miraya he used to run around with at the playgrounds, laughing and having fun. The same Miraya that stood up for him when other kids would bully him. The same Miraya who would always be there for him whenever he was sad. She was and still is his light.

"Nawin," Miraya softly calls out, "Yeah?" "Could you close your eyes for a moment?" Nawin blinks at the request. He gently set the scrubber down then gives the nod. "Sure." Closing his eyes, Nawin hears Miraya turn around then feels her hands grabbing the side of his head. Still keeping his close, Nawin is guided forward until the side of his head rests on a soft surface. A few seconds pass, a soft gasp escapes Nawin's mouth. He hears it. The normal and steady heartbeat. He realized that he is leaned on Miraya's chest, but that's not what's shocking him. What is stunning him to silence is her heart. It is beating like an ordinary heart.

"M-Miraya..." With a warm smile on her face, the Culdos rests her right hand on the back of Nawin's head. "Yes... My heart is beating normal now. After I was woken up from that hospital bed... My arrhythmia was miraculously treated. Ever since I was roused up that day, my heart," A brighter smile build on her lip, "Is perfectly healthy."

Nawin's lip quiver ever slightly before he brings his arms up to wrap around the Culdos. Giving her a soft hug. His eyes remain closed so he can listen to her heartbeat as clear as possible. "I am so glad," he whispers in a trembling voice. Miraya leans down to give a kiss on Nawin's head. She opens her eyes and looks at him with much love. "I am completely healthy now, Nawin. You won't ever have to worry about that ever again."

Makasha Household

"Guh!" Akeno's eyes snap wide to reveal terrifying blackness engulfed her sclera. She laid there in bed for a few seconds in complete stillness. Not a single muscle is moved, nor a breath is taken. Solid like a sculpture. Her eyes suddenly shift close then reopens, and the blackness is gone.

Akeno promptly sits up, causing the blanket covering her bare chest to fall. She quickly takes a few deep breaths then exhales. Her hands are shaking ever faintly. "Nawin-kun..." she whispers in quivering tone for her lover, wanting his comfort. Shifting to the right, Akeno is greeted with nothing but an empty space. Her eyes widen as the memory of last night begins flooding back.

A look of remorse forms on the Himejima's face as she brings her right hand to the forehead, gripping around it tightly. 'I am disappointed in you... Akeno.' Those words ring in her mind. Akeno's mouth bares to show the gritting teeth. It wasn't those words that hurt her the most. It was Nawin's eyes when he uttered them. He looked betrayed by her stance on that matter. In that very moment. For a rare occasion. Akeno was able to read the feeling behind her lover's eyes clearly, and it ended being a negative response directed towards her.

A sudden knock on the window startles Akeno, snapping her back to reality. She shifts to the right with some excitement in hoping it is Nawin. But all that hope is dashed when seeing it is Rias stood outside, don still in her white nightgown. With a sigh, Akeno pushes herself off the bed and heads to the window. Not caring that she is naked.

"Goodness, Akeno" Rias immediately comment when the Himejima unlocked the window and slide it open to allow her in. She enters the room and quickly pulls the curtains close to conceal her friend's nude form from outside. Rias turns around and wear a look of concern when noticing the dull expression on the Himejima's face.

Placing a hand on her friend's shoulder, Rias lean forward a bit. "Akeno, what's wrong? I sensed your mana spiked a moment ago and rushed over." Akeno's eyes widen every slightly at this fact. She recalls waking up and felt her entire body frozen for what felt like an hour. 'Did my magic signature spiked when I was in that state?' "Akeno," Rias calls out again "Y-yes," Akeno blinks and looks up "Sorry to worry you. I had a bit of a nightmare so I must have carelessly unleashed some of my mana when woken up."

Rias wears a dubious look to show she's not buying the entire excuse. "Is there something else you would like to tell me? And where is Nawin-kun?" she asks, glancing pass Akeno to look at the empty bed. "Well..." Akeno pauses a moment and contemplates if she should tell Rias the whole event transpired last night. But with her distress state of mind, she didn't bother to think much over it and simply decides to tell the Gremory. Akeno believes that is the best course of action. "Something happened last night, Rias..."

Time Skip: Elsewhere

"Thank you once again for a lovely breakfast!" Miraya notifies the chefs with a bright smile before exiting the restaurant with Nawin. The servers and cooks wish the pair goodbye with warm smiles. "Nice people," Nawin comment, looking satisfied after a full stomach "Ehehe, I told you they're lovely. Did you enjoy the food?" "Yes, it was delicious. They cooked the salmon perfectly." Miraya's smile shift to an angry pout "I am still annoyed you didn't give their chicken waffle a shot! It's the best one I ever ate!" "I've been eating unhealthy lately ever since my birthday, Miraya" Nawin reply with an amusing tone "Don't want to start adding weight. You can take me there again next week," "Guess that'll work."

A moment of silence occurs as Nawin and Miraya simply stroll through the quiet street. The warm morning breeze would occasionally sweep pass them. Miraya takes a deep breath of the clean air before exhaling. A smile form on her lip as she shifts sight to her dear friend. "Any plans you have today, Nawin?" "Yeah, I do..." Miraya's question remind Nawin of something last night that cause his lip to twitch downward. "I actually have to meet up with Akeno. There's some stuff we have to clear" "Serious?" "It's nothing to worry about. We had a disagreement," "Ah, I see. So typical couple stuff." Nawin didn't give a further response on that, and fortunately, Miraya did not press on.

"Do you want me over?" Miraya asks "Sure," Nawin regains his smile, glancing at her "I rather not leave you alone since it looks like you got nothing planned for today" "Ehehe, you aren't wrong, darling." With a lighter and happier air surrounding them, the pair heads south at a moderate pace.

But as they are walking, both fail to notice a figure stalking after them. Hiding behind the houses, and when enough space is made between them, the stranger would quickly spring to the next hiding spot. They would peek over and examine the pair with their red eyes.

Noticing another spot is available near the sizeable light poll, the unknown person leaps forward and conceals behind it. A predator smile appears on their glossy pink lip, showing two noticeable fangs. Sliding their right leg away from the poll, the person gracefully rotates out of the spot then advances toward the pair.

Nawin's eyes widen when hearing quick footsteps from behind. He swiftly turns around while spreading his left arm over to shield the Culdos. "Maasssteeeerrrr!" the unknown and supposed assailant turns out to be none other than Hana. Nawin instantly drops his guard at the last second, which causes the Hydra to crash into him at midair with a hug.

Miraya stood there speechless by the scene in front of her. One moment she was just peacefully walking with Nawin, and now he's laid on the ground with a gorgeous woman she has never seen before on top of him. Also, to make the scene weirder. The green-haired woman don a beautiful black and white kimono. A garment that's typically reserved for the indoors instead of outdoors.

Groaning in annoyance by the harsh impact, Nawin opens his eyes to see Hana grinning down at him. Opening his mouth, Nawin was about to speak, but Hana pushes her sizable bust to his face which interrupts him. A coy smirk makes way to the Hydra's face. "Master, it's been so long! Giving a bit of affection on this reunion isn't bad, is it?" Nawin's eyebrow twitches when seeing she's playing games. Though he wasn't going to back down. Nawin moves his head away from Hana's bust and gives her a charming smile. "Why just a bit? I'm sure we can do much more than mere teasing, Hana." His words work like a charm as Hana's entire face instantly turn tomato-red. She puffs her cheeks to hide her embarrassment before getting off him. "I lost again!" Hana pout while extending her right arm down to help her Master to his feet.

Nawin dust himself then pauses when realizing that Miraya just witnessed all of that. He snaps toward the right and sees her watching them with the blankest of stares. As if trying to process everything that just happened and no doubt rewinding all the comments exchanged between him and Hana.

The Hydra shift attention to the girl she has never seen before and gives a friendly grin. "Greetings there, person! Are you a friend of my Master?" Nawin's eyes shot wide when realizing that Hana's been addressing him with that word. She clearly hasn't picked up that Miraya is human. Miraya herself just blinks in bewilderment, unable to give a response.

'Hana!' 'Geeh!" Hana squeak by her Master's loud voice booming from her mind. She glances at him with a perplex expression. Nawin gives a sharp stare. 'Miraya is human, so stop addressing me as Master!' 'Oh, I see.' "Nawin," Miraya calls out to gain the Makasha's attention, "Yeah?" "Who's this person, and more importantly, why is she addressing you as 'Master'?"

Miraya shoots a blank stare to her friend. "You haven't developed a weird fetish, have you?" she asks. Hana coughs out to stop a laugh from escaping while Nawin sweatdrops. "N-no, nothing like that. I swear." After taking a second to recompose, Nawin places a hand on his familiar's shoulder while looking at the Culdos. "This is Hana. She's one of my closest friends." "Close enough to address you as 'Master'?" Miraya returns with a teasing grin.

Nawin gets fluster while Hana blushes a bit. But she quickly recuperates and decides to speak up for her Master's sake. "It isn't anything like that! Nawin here is actually my first true friend so," she gives a shy smile, "Addressing him by Master is kind of like my verbal tic that would slip out at times."

"That so?" Miraya tilts her head while carrying a warm smile. She shifts to Nawin, "You really do have colorful friends, Nawin. I'm glad to see that." With Miraya's suspicion dropped, Nawin and Hana can mentally sigh in relief. "May I ask, who are you?" Hana politely asks, "Ah," Miraya offers her right hand "My name is Miraya Culdos. Childhood friends of your Master here." Hana takes the hand and shakes. She blushes a bit by the wink given to her.

"Is this how you are so good at this game of ours?" Hana turns to her Master after finishing the greeting gesture. Nawin simply provides a coy smile, "Maybe." "What game is that?" Miraya asks with great curiousness, "A battle of tease!" Hana answer with great enthusiasm, grinning brightly "Whoever makes their competitor blush first via teasing wins!" "Oh, that sounds fun," Miraya giggles "Who is ahead right now?" "Him," Hana points at Nawin then pouts "By a large margin. To my sadness."

Nawin quietly watches the two girls chatting with a warm smile until his attention gets avert by feeling his phone vibrate. Taking the device out of his pocket, Nawin taps the screen to see he received a text from Rias. Tapping on it opens the page to show the entire message. 'Nawin, please come over to the Occult Building immediately. I need to talk to you.' When done reading the text, the Makasha's eyes begin to narrow. He has a good idea of why he got this message.

"Miraya," Nawin calls out to pause the girls' conversation. "Yes?" Miraya shifts attention to him. "Rias just request for me to head to the Occult Building. Is it ok for you to head to my home and wait there?" "Um, sure," she nods "I don't mind. Is it serious?" "Could be. Hana and I will head there now." Nawin puts his phone away and gives an apologetic smile to his friend "Sorry about this. But best I deal with this quickly then we can hang out later without interruption" "It's ok. If it is important enough to have Rias contact you during the weekend, then it's best you get over there" Miraya reply with an understanding smile.

Nawin provides one last smile before turning to Hana, signaling her to follow. They break off in a light sprint and head to the right. Taking a known shortcut to the school. Miraya stares at the pair, watching them disappear around the corner before she continues her way to the Makasha's house.

Time Skip: Occult Building

Unable but to anxiously squirm around the couch from the tension in the room, Issei glance toward the right to look at Rias. She is seated at her desk with a sharp expression plastered on her face. Those piercing, turquoise eyes hold a steady gaze at the front door. Issei shifts his eyes forward to see Akeno seated across him on the other couch. She conceals her expression by being stoic and has her eyes close.

The rest of the group aren't present as Rias preferred to have the upcoming meeting with Nawin be conducted with only the people currently in the room. Issei was informed of what happened last night. He couldn't fully understand why his lover is so against it. Though, he can still see her side and the problem she had with how Nawin decided to handle it. But the level of her anger does come as a bit of a shock to him.

Before they arrived at the Occult Building, they did pay Misako a visit to see if she is safe. Fortunately, Misako was there to greet them in front of the store. Looking healthy enough to be watering the plants and wished them all 'Good Morning' with a big smile. She informed them everything that transpired last night. Even the part where Sayomi suddenly appeared to take Ivory and Farah away. Of course, learning that fact stunned Rias, Akeno, and Issei. But, learning that fact also angered Rias, no doubt because of her concern over Nawin's safety. Issei knows that even though it isn't at the extent of Akeno's. Rias is protective of Nawin. She has shown that more openly ever since the events of Vamhaven and his decision to go on a hiatus from the Supernatural World.

The front door suddenly opens and in walk Nawin with Hana following close behind him. The Hydra appearance surprises Issei while Rias and Akeno remain calm. It didn't take Nawin even a second to notice the tense air around the room. His eyes narrow when it lands on Rias. Seeing that look in her eyes. Nothing but seriousness in them. It confirms what he rather not to be true and that is Akeno spilled everything about last night. Knowing this fact put him in a somewhat foul mood.

Nawin blatantly ignores Akeno's gaze and instead focus on Rias. "You dragged me here just to scold me, Rias?" he questions in a stoic and piercing tone. Already showing that he doesn't want to be here. The Gremory gets up and walks past her desk to stop in front of Nawin. Her gaze matches his intensity, not backing down.

"Explain to me why you think your decision last night was the best course of action to take, Nawin?" Rias retorts, dropping the honorific to show she isn't in a mood of beating around the bush. "My hands were tied," Nawin answers "Ivory didn't give me a choice. If any of you were to get involved, then she would have killed Misako," "Why did you take Akame then?" "Because one person can sneak pass their senses. It also helps that Akame is skilled in stealth."

Nawin's eyes sharpen. "Let me make this clear, Rias. During that time, I believed they had Miraya before it turned out to be a ruse. But, when I thought she's in danger, all bets were off. There would be no risks. I would not put her life at a higher risk than it already was."

Akeno's gaze falls to her lap when hearing her lover's words. Rias didn't waver and speak up. "I get it. Miraya means a lot to you, but you also need to think of your own safety! I heard from Misako that you came out that fight heavily injured. That if it wasn't for Sayomi Dracul's interference, you could have been killed by Ivory! Do you think I like that possibility in my head?!" Rias's gaze shifts to a glare "At the end of the day, in my eyes. I believe that the reason you took that action is because you didn't trust me or the rest of us to help! You were scared that we would fail, and that failure would result in Miraya's death."

In the background, Issei is seated frozen in speechlessness by his lover's words. Akeno grips her knees as an expression of regret form on her face. Hana remains quiet while sneaking some concern glance to her Master.

Nawin remains neutral by the Gremory's words. "I did what I did because Miraya is my responsibility. She has always been my responsibility. Not yours." "She is my friend too, Nawin!" "Why are you getting so worked up over this?!" Nawin retorts louder as he starts to lose patience. "Because I am getting tired of your recklessness! Have you forgotten what happened at Vamhaven?! You charging in that situation with not knowing how powerful Ivory was is just another sign of this bad habit of yours! You haven't battled in over a month! So there's no doubt some rust will develop which could have been a huge detriment for you!"

Nawin goes quiet as all eyes are on him. The anger in his eyes starts to diminish as his expression soften. He can't stay mad when Rias is showing so much genuine concern over him. At the end of the day, she's angry because he carelessly put his life in danger. Getting irate over that is asinine. And, he knew that his plan yesterday wasn't a perfect one as he was reckless. Silver died because of his rash decision. Perhaps she wouldn't if he had gone to Rias for help.

"I'm sorry," Nawin utters. Rias's eyes widen while the rest look on, also in stun. "I admit it... I was acting recklessly. I should have thought it through more. If you want me to be more careful in the future than I'll try, alright?" Rias's glare melts as she gives the nod. "I understand why you acted that way. Misako's and Miraya's life were in danger. I can't imagine the pressure you were under by getting forced back to the Supernatural world from such a horrible situation. Nawin-kun," Rias brings her right arm up and place it on his shoulder, looking at him straight in the eyes "I just don't want you hurting yourself. You are different from the rest of us. You have many powerful adversaries that want your life. You have that Draconic Mark on you that could set off at any moment. At the end of the day, you are my friend and part of my family. Just like Miraya is your responsibility. You are mine too, Nawin-kun."

Nawin carries a warm smile from hearing those words. "I understand. Thanks, Rias... For always looking out for me" "Of course," she smiles, "I hate to ever think of you or anyone in my family getting hurt. I don't see my peerage as mere tools, Nawin-kun. I have proven to you on that by now, haven't I?" "Yes, you have."

Rias moves her arm back and take a step away. "Is that everything?" "Yes. Is Miraya doing ok?" "She is. I stayed a night over at her place. Wanted to check if she is there before I collapsed from exhaustion." Rias nod, "I see. I am relief to hear she is well."

Nawin turns around and heads for the front door. Hana waves goodbye at the three before following her Master. Rias opens her mouth but quickly shuts it. She wanted to discuss about Sayomi's sudden appearance but decides it's best to save it for the next day. Best not to drag back negativity after just sorting things out. "I'll be heading home now" Nawin informs then push to door open to exit the building. Rias sigh in content as her shoulder loses its tension. She was about to turn around when Akeno suddenly rushes by. She watches her quickly exits the room.

"What was that about?" Issei asks, wondering why the Himejima was in such a hurry. Rias didn't give a response and simply stare at the door with stiff eyes.

Akeno stops by the gate that leads to the school's courtyard. "Nawin-kun!" she calls out for her lover. The Makasha halts though refuse to turn around. He simply stays there. Hana glances at the Himejima to see her standing a dozen feet away. "I-I," Akeno starts off, gripping her shirt with her right hand, gazing at Nawin, "I thought telling Rias would be a good idea. She c-" "Instead of just waiting for me to return home and talked to me face to face on the matter. You decided to drag Rias and Issei into this" Nawin cuts in with a piercing tone that immediately silence the Himejima. His anger in her decision is evident.

Nawin finally turns around to look at his lover in the eyes. "Do you believe our relationship is that fragile that you had to dragged other people into our problems?" he asks. Akeno is stunned to silence by those words. "I honestly don't know what's going on in that head of yours, Akeno" Nawin state "This and yesterday... I thought you were someone I didn't have to worry about watching my back. To be the person that will always support me. But you are beginning to show that perhaps I should be concern. Perhaps there is a much bigger gap in our relationship than I thought."

"B-but, Nawin-kun!" Akeno tries to speak, but that look of disappointment in those brown eyes just stop any words from escaping her mouth. It hurts seeing that look directed toward her. "Akeno," Nawin speaks in a softer tone that matches with his eyes "Please get yourself sorted. Clearly, whatever is in your mind is something only you can fix. Don't make me have second guesses in our relationship."

With that said, Nawin turns forward and resume heading to the school's gates. Hana silently follows him. She knows better than to speak up in this personal matter between the couple. Akeno stares at the retreating form of her lover with a heartbreaking look.

Standing in front of a familiar house, Nawin stares at the Ichiru's Bakery sign hanging above the front door. After leaving the Academy, Nawin decided he wanted to stop by here to see how Misako is doing. Furthermore, with her house being on the same route to his home didn't give him any excuse not to. After such an event transpired last night, Nawin needed to make sure his friend is healthy physically and mentally. The latter is the one he worries the most. Misako is still new to the Supernatural World, so last night no doubt was taxing for her.

"Nawin-kun," Hana speaks up to gain her Master's attention. The walk here has been nothing but silence after Akeno. Hana knew that interaction between the couple not only was hard on Akeno but also Nawin. Even if he hid it well. "Are you ok?" she asks when meeting him in the eyes.

Nawin offers a soft smile to show he is grateful for the question. "I could be better, Hana. Honestly," he releases a sigh "It is hard for me to see Akeno in a rough place right now... I'm not blind. I noticed that ever since Miraya has returned, Akeno has been acting weird." Hana nods in understanding as she has been informed about Miraya's story by Nawin when they were on track to Kuoh Academy.

"The thing is," Nawin stare up at the sky with sorrow eyes. "I genuinely don't know how to solve this problem. I love Akeno. But I refuse to distance myself from Miraya for her sake. I can't treat Miraya differently because of mere jealousy." "You... You continue to stick by her side even though she gives you this much trouble?" Hana questions, unable to understand this logic. Nawin lets out a soft chuckle before turning to her, wearing a warm smile. "That is love, Hana. I love Akeno dearly that I will look past her flows without a second thought. I believe that given time she will be more welcoming to Miraya. I know it bothers her how well Miraya and I get along. Because usually, I am only ever that close to her and my sisters. Seeing Miraya, who is essentially a stranger in Akeno's eyes, suddenly appeared out of nowhere and was able to become close to me effortlessly will bring issues. So, I can't fault her."

"Your love life sounds very complicated, Master" Hana comment, which gets a chuckle out of Nawin. "It can be. But," he turns around and grabs the door handle, twisting it. "Akeno and I always were able to jump through these obstacles in our relationship. I believe this will be no different." Hana simply nods and follow her Master inside the bakery.

"Hmm?" Misako pops her head above the counter when hearing the entrance bell jingle. A big smile emerges on her face when seeing Nawin and Hana entering the store. "Hana-chan!" she screams with joy, standing up before quickly rush toward her friend. Hana grins and leaps ahead. When in range, the two girls embrace each other for their little reunion. "Ehehe, it's good to see you again, Misako!" "Yeah!" the Ichiru giggles "It's been a while."

After that, Misako led Nawin and Hana to the living room for them to relax and talk. Fortunately, she happened to be making some delicious lemonade and happily serve all of them with it. Placing the glass down to the table, Misako sigh pleasantly at the cold drink. Today is one of the hotter days, so lemonades are currently a god's gift drink. She looks across to Nawin. "I am glad to see you in a healthy state, Nawin-kun" she asserts with a soft smile "Thanks. I'm glad to see you are doing good as well. I was honestly a bit worried while on the way here," he admits, setting the cup down.

Nawin rests his arms on the table then stares the Ichiru in the eyes. "You were put in a dangerous and no doubt scary situation last night. I'm sorry I couldn't have been there to prevented it." "Don't say that, Nawin-kun" Misako response, her smile remaining "You couldn't have predicted such a thing to happen. At the end of the day, you and Akame-chan saved me. So please don't beat yourself over it anymore." Nawin smile by her words then gives the nod, "Ok, I understand."

Takin another sip from the glass, Nawin looks deep into Misako's eyes and sees that she is genuinely holding together better than he thought. Perhaps it is thanks to the training Akame as put her through. He has seen that Akame can be very deathly in some sessions. Going as far as aiming at vital spots and blasting a large amount of killing intent that would petrify even High-Class devils. He never spoke up because of his trust in Akame. She always had those training sessions under control. It is possible that Misako has, in a way gone through life-threatening dangers during some of those training that made the event last night more tamed to her. He did remember her remaining composed at that night. She listened to his orders and was brave enough even to shield him from Sayomi.

When attempting to read those sapphire-color orbs. Nawin sees nothing but relief when they are directed upon him. It seems that Misako was more worried for him than even herself. He can't help but mentally shake his head regarding this fact. That's just who Misako is. She cares more about other's wellbeing than herself. He is fond of that aspect of the Ichiru yet also hates it at times.

Misako snickers at Hana, who's helping herself to the crackers laid on the center of the table. Eating it vigorously like it is the best snack ever. She shifts sight to Nawin and opens her mouth. "Rias-san, Issei-san, and Akeno-san paid me a visit this morning," "Yeah," Nawin acknowledges "I heard. Hana and I actually just returned from a meeting with them." A look on concern appears on the Ichiru's face when hearing the heavy tone in Nawin's words. "Did I cause you trouble by telling them what happened?" "No, no," Nawin quickly insert with a reassuring smile "You didn't do anything wrong."

Nawin doesn't hold Misako to blame on telling Rias about the event last night. In truth, all of this could have been prevented if Akeno simply kept quiet about it from the beginning. Misako release a deep exhale in relief, knowing she hasn't done anything wrong to trouble her friend. Hana giggles at the adorable reaction while Nawin tilts his head and wears a fond smile.

"These salty crackers are great, Misako!" Hana praise, munching on the last piece, "You ate it all?!" "Hehehe, I sure did!" Misako bears a happy grin "I'm glad you enjoyed them. I actually made them" "Whoa! Really?" "Ehehehe, yep. My Mom recently taught me how to make them. It's actually one of her signature snack recipes." Hana grabs the empty bowl and thrust it toward Misako "You need to make more of them the next time I visit" "Ahahaha, if that's what you want next time, I'll make enough to fill jars."

Seeing the two girls having fun conversing with each other brings a warm smile on Nawin's face. 'You still were able to smile and laugh with the friends you made, correct?' Miraya's words from last night rings. Nawin's smile grows broader as his eyes shine with warmth and peace. 'Yes, I can, Miraya.'

Time Skip: Makasha Household

At the lounge room, a thudding sound suddenly comes out from it followed by a grunt. "Oh, come on!" Lucy throws her arms in the air while glaring at the pile of Jenga bricks on the glass table. Asia and Miraya are giggling in glee by the blonde's evident frustration from another loss. "This is bugged! I tell ya!" Lucy glares at the wooden pieces, tempting to set them all up a blaze.

"I don't even have to see to know that your hands are shaking too much, Onee-chan!" Asia asserts with a bright grin, "You are so tense." Lucy crosses her arms and cocks her head to the right, huffing "I hate these types of games. Too much concentration" "Brash as ever, I see" Mariya comment with a raised eyebrow, her eyes twinkle in amusement.

"Ah," Asia abruptly stands up before rushing toward the hallway. "Where are you going?" Miraya calls out, "To the bathroom! I was holding it!" "Oh, I see." Miraya release a chuckle "I hope she doesn't openly shout those out." "Ahaha, she knows when to act mature if the time calls for it," Lucy inform while gathering all the Jenga pieces to build it back up "I see... She's a really nice girl. I can see why Nawin cares for her so dearly." "Yeah," Lucy lets out a sincere smile "I'm glad Big bro met her. It wouldn't be the same if Asia didn't get adopted in our family."

A moment of silence falls in the living room as Lucy and Miraya carefully build back the Jenga tower. "Miraya," "Yes?" "Are you ok?" the question cause the Culdos to blink as she watches Lucy carefully brings the box down on the tower. "Why do you ask?" "Well," Lucy quickly flip the box over and seal the top shut before turning attention to the older girl.

"Why aren't you trying to get back with Big bro?" Miraya's eyes widen considerably by the unexpected question. Lucy's expression displays curious and concern. "Do you not love him anymore?" "Of course, I do," Miraya softly answers as a faint smile builds on her lip "There can never be another person in this world that can replace that spot in my heart. It will always belong to your Brother." "Then, why?" "Do you want me to risk sabotaging your brother's relationship with Akeno-san?" "No, but seeing you not even showing a hint that you want to irks me... It's not normal."

"Lucy," Miraya offers a warm smile and slide her right hand forward to hold the blonde's hand. "I have spent years obsessed with finding Nawin, and it led me on a painful path. I won't be like that ever again. The reason I don't show any hints is that I am fully content to have finally be reunited with him. To be able to see him, talk with him, laugh with him, share memories with him. That's enough to satisfy me."

A smile of reminiscing appears on Lucy's lip as her eyes shift to the table. The sky-blue orbs gleam in fondness. "You still think the world of him... Even after all these years of absence." "Some things will never change, Lucy" Miraya whispers, feeling the young Makasha holding her hand firmly.

"Tell me," Miraya speaks after a moment of peaceful silence. Lucy looks up at her with curious eyes. "Do you dislike Akeno-san?" "No. I understand that my Brother is happy with her, but... I know he can be at his happiest with you, Miraya." There are no words after that. Miraya simply gives a small smile and shift her sight to the hallway.

The sound of the front door opening perk the girls up. "We're home," the unmistakable calm and deep voice of Nawin rings through the house. "Big bro!" Lucy shouts, "We are in here." Done taking their shoes off, Nawin and Hana enter the living room. "Hello!" Hana cheerfully exclaims before jumping to the air and plops down to the couch. She lets out a heavenly sigh, "Ahhh, finally away from the heat." Nawin chuckles at his familiar behavior while taking a seat on the carpet next to Miraya.

"What are you doing here, Hana?" Lucy blinks in surprise, not expecting the Hydra's appearance. "Hanging out with Nawin-kun," the older girl lazily answer, her face still resting on the pillow. "How did your meeting go?" Miraya asks Nawin, "It went better than I expected," "That's great to hear."

Nawin inspects the Jenga box and raises an eyebrow. "Lucy lost, didn't she?" he turns to Miraya, "Ehehe, very much so." Lucy glares at the giggling Culdos while Nawin smirk in amusement. "How did Asia fair?" Lucy exhales before giving a smile, "She's actually terrific. Takes her time to feel the towel before making a move. Her hands were calm and still" "That's great to hear. It's good you invited her to play... Asia hates when people take her blindness into too much consideration. Best treat her like normal" "I know that, Big bro. She's my sister too."

Lucy leans toward the Miraya and openly whispers. "As you can see, he can be quite overprotective of her" "Ehehe, certainly." Nawin simply rolls his eyes playfully at the grinning girls. "I am back!" Asia plops on Nawin's back and hugs him, giggling happily "Hi, Onii-chan!" "Hey there, Asia," he chuckles and rest his right hand on the end of the girl's head before giving her a kiss on the cheek "Mighty hyper, aren't you?" "Ahaha, I'm just in a happy mood right now!"

"It has been rather a dull Sunday," Lucy pouts out, crossing her arms behind her head while leaning backward on the couch. "Nothing planned with Sona and the others?" Nawin asks, "Nah. It's just one of those weekends." "Sometimes it is nice just to relax," Hana lets out a moan, finding the couch quite heavenly. "You look so comfortable right now that it is making me jealous," Lucy remarks.

Nawin cracks a smile of amusement at Hana's dreamy expression. He can believe that sleeping on the hard grounds of the familiar forest in her hydra form isn't as comfortable as lounging on a soft couch in her human form.

"Do you have anything you want to do, Miraya?" Nawin shift to his friend for her suggestion, "Put some movie on," she gives a simple reply. Nawin blinks "You sure? There's nothing you want to do?" "Darling, I can see it in your eyes. Seating comfortably here with your adorable sister clinging onto your back. You don't want to leave this house, do you?" "..." "Pah," Lucy snort at her Brother's silence "Ain't that obvious. Big bro, you just want to laze around today. Especially with the heat outside" "Too hot!" Hana quickly interjects before slamming her face back on the pillow.

The stoic expression on Nawin's face shatters to replace with a smile. He chuckles and brings both arms up "Alright, you two got me." Miraya and Lucy send a grin at one another. "With that settled. Why don't you along with Hana-san and Asia-chan pick a movie while Lucy and I head to the kitchen to fetch some cold treats and drinks" "Yeah! Please get some ice cream from the freezer!" Asia request "Ehehe, will do" Miraya replies before standing up with Lucy and exits the living room for the moment.

"So," Nawin grabs the controller on the table and switch the television on. He brings his right hand up to ruffles Asia's soft blonde locks. "What do you two want to watch?" "Something funny would be nice," Asia replies. Hana turns her head over on the side to stare at the television. "Anything is fine, Master." "Let's find some good comedy then," Nawin state with a warm smile.

The rest of the day flowed by like a calm and gentle breeze for Nawin and the girls. They simply relax at the comfy and spacious living room, watching the many movies that each would take turns to pick. For lunch, they simply ordered Pizza to the delight of Asia and Lucy.

Hana and Miraya quickly hit it off. It didn't take long until they are happily chatting with one another, and laughing at the many jokes both parties would throw in. It didn't take much for Nawin to realize why the two girls were able to get along so wonderfully. No doubt it had to do with their fond habit of continually teasing him. And just like Rias, Hana was eager to learn of the fun stories from Miraya surrounding Nawin in his younger days.

Nawin took Miraya's advice from last night to heart. Instead of pushing one away for the other, he will embrace both worlds. The peaceful and ordinary life that is brighter than ever before, thanks to Miraya. Then the supernatural world life that has its dangers, but Nawin can't deny that it has also given him much good. Such as allowing him to meet many wonderful people that he has befriended, and it also helped him grow as a person. It shaped and taught him to become the Black Flash. It was foolish and blind of him to deem that turning his back on that life just because Miraya is back was the right choice. He can have the best of both worlds and work through the struggles that both those worlds will no doubt bring on him.

Time Skip

The evening sun begins descending to signal the night will soon arrive. Miraya steps out of the house and stands at the center of the front yard. She takes a deep breath of the fresh air before snickering. "I can't believe those three passed out." Nawin silently shuts the door before walking down the steps. He wears a soft smile. "After the heavy meal and laying on those sofas. You can't blame them," "Ehehe, that's true."

Miraya pulls out her phone and opens it. A mischievous grin appears on her face. "I was able to snap this," she says and turns the phone over to show Nawin. A laugh escapes the Makasha's mouth by the picture on the screen. It shows his dear sisters cuddling together on the couch they shared during the movie session. Lucy has her arms wrapped around Asia to keep her close so she wouldn't fall to the floor. Her chin rests on the younger girl's head. Both wore adorable smiles on their faces.

"You need to send me that," Nawin state, wearing a fond smile "Ehehe, of course. This must be like a sacred image for you," Miraya state with a wink then proceeds to transfer the picture to the Makasha's phone. Nawin feels his phone vibrate "Thanks," "No problem."

Nawin sends a disappointing look "Do you have to leave so soon?" "They aren't the only ones that are tired," Miraya giggles "I am close to passing out myself so best I head home and collapse on my soft bed" "Guess you're right." "Ehehe, come now," Miraya gives a gentle tap on Nawin's cheek while grinning brightly "We can always hang out any other day! Don't be so down now." "Ahaha, that's true. I'm acting a bit childishness right now " "Ehehe, I am okay with that. It brings out your cute moments," she states with a teasing wink.

Bringing her hand back, Miraya turns around to push open the fence and exit the Makasha's ground. She is surprised when a taxi suddenly comes from the right and stop on the road. Just a few feet away from her. The doors open and outwalk Akeno. Both girls stare at one another in shock while Nawin remains quiet in the background. Wanting to see where this will go.

"Hello, Akeno-san," Miraya gives a bright smile "It's good to see you again. I was a bit surprised not to see you home today." Akeno musters up a friendly smile while still keeping a firm hold on the door. "I had some personal stuff to take care of. Sorry I couldn't be here to welcome you." "It's no problem at all. It is a shame though that we weren't able to hang out. There's always next time, no?" "Yes, that is true."

"Are you about to leave?" Akeno asks, "Yes. It's about time for me to head home." Akeno nods then poke her head in the taxi to speak to the driver, "Do you mind taking her to Gray Lotus Motel?" "I don't mind at all!" "Perfect." Akeno shifts forward and gives a smile, "You can take this taxi home, Miraya-san. You look quite tired so walking that far would not be fun." Miraya blinks at the sudden kind gesture but reply with a gentle smile "Thank you. That's very considerate of you."

Nawin watch Miraya enters the taxi before Akeno close the door for her. She looks at him through the window then gives a goodbye wave which he returns with his own as the cab drives off. Bringing his arm down, Nawin shift sight to Akeno and their eyes meet.

Silence surrounds the couple as they stare at each other's eyes. Those violet orbs couldn't hide the emotion of anxious on them. Especially when it is staring back at those dark brown orbs. Akeno opens her mouth to speak, but Nawin cuts her off. "You don't have to apologize, Akeno." With that said, Nawin walks forward to stop in front of his lover. "You know... What hurts me the most wasn't that you told Rias about what I did. What hurts me was that you hold such low confidence in our relationship. I can see that you get nervous every time we are about to clash. You worry that one day... A particular fight will break us apart."

Akeno's eyes sadden while she remains silent. Not denying it. Nawin's expression soften. He brings his right arm forward and set it on Akeno's shoulder. "Miraya is the reason why you begin to have this insecurity in our relationship, correct?" "... Yes," "And that reason is why you kept your distance from her?" "Yes... How do you know so much?" "Because I love you, Akeno." Those words surprise the Himejima. They were like music to her ears when it is uttered from Nawin. She looks up to see his soft and warm smile. "You think I wouldn't notice? Akeno, anything that's bothering with you I will bound to find out sooner or later. That's just how it works in our relationship."

Nawin pulls Akeno in for a warm embrace. She returns it whole-heartedly while burying her face on his chest. "Please stop holding this uncertainty in our relationship, Akeno. Don't have this thought in your head that Miraya is trying to steal me because that is the furthest from the truth. Do you honestly think she is that kind of person?" "I-I don't believe so." "Then, please... For me. You need to stop thinking this way, Akeno. Because all you are doing is hurting our relationship."

Nawin perks when feeling his shirt start getting wet. He feels Akeno shaking ever slightly. His eyes soften as he slowly starts stroking her back in comfort. "I-I'm sorry f-for b-being such a p-pain," Akeno chokes out. "It's fine," Nawin whispers in soothing tone "This is just one of the many hurdles we have to jump over. I won't give up on you that easily, Akeno Himejima."

Hearing those words from her lover's mouth brings relief and joy to Akeno's heart. The love in his tone is just impossible to miss. For the first time today, a genuine full smile appears on Akeno's face. "I love you so much, Nawin-kun" "I love you too, Akeno Himejima. Always will."
