06x01, 'The Red Woman'
She'd played her hand, thinking that it would help her cause. She's spent so many years accepted as the queen; she's never forgotten her time as khaleesi despite her depleted numbers of Dothraki, for Jorah's affectionate, reverent acknowledgement of the title has never wavered.
These people didn't see her emerge from the fire unscathed. They've never seen dragons.
The Dothraki are hard people. She'd witnessed that herself during her time as Drogo's wife.
Fierce warriors are all that matter. The length of a braid. Women are inferior, there for breeding and fucking. She'd heard every word spoken about her before they'd realised who she was.
She doesn't belong here. Did she ever? She'd made herself. But she can't go back. She won't. She was never made to just be a khal's meek wife. She is not meant for the Dosh Khaleen.
They don't understand. They don't care. Their histories and traditions take precedence over all else. They are blind to the possibilities that are tangible beyond the scope of the Dothraki Sea. A whole world to discover. A world to mould beyond the petty wars fought between each faction.
She'd never thought that she could do it. She was Viserys' frightened little sister.
But Jorah had believed in her. And that belief had given her courage. Whatever else he has done to her during their time together, she can't take that away from him, no matter how much she might have wanted to.
He's always been able to understand situations better than her. If he was with her now he would have cautioned her not to be reckless. Not to presume.
He is not here.
But he will be searching.
It's that innate belief in him that she cannot cut out of herself that drove her to drop her ring in the Dothraki Sea, like a breadcrumb for a raven. Jorah, seemingly so intrinsically joined with her, is bound to find it and come to the right conclusion over where she is being taken.
She'll get out of this. Somehow.
