06x04, 'Book of the Stranger'
The Dothraki have gathered in front of the temple of the Dosh Khaleen.
And all bow down before her. Every man, woman, child, and warrior.
Her heart pulses wildly in her chest, but she does not let it show, determined to prove that she is stoic, unruffled, as worthy as any khal, just in case there are any amongst the number that still doubt her.
Two figures trek between the hundreds and hundreds of kneeling bodies. Jorah and Daario. Both wear identical expressions of wonder. Daario drops to his knees and lowers his gaze, evidently understanding, for the first time, just what the Unburnt means. She knows he's always been spontaneous, his devotion to her whimsical and based on outward beauty than actually seeing real merit in her.
Your beauty, it meant more to me than it did to them, he'd said to her once, about the comrades he'd murdered. No desire to change the world. No desire to be better. Just desire to share the beauty of her bed. It's never bothered her. It's been a mutually beneficial arrangement.
But Jorah, oh, Jorah kneels before her too and that same wonder and awe is in his eyes as the first time he saw her in the ashes of a funeral pyre unhurt. Then he drops his gaze, unable to bear the sight, as if she is one of the gods herself and he is unworthy to behold her.
But for that moment their eyes had connected through the smoke and flame, and she had felt the tug in her chest anyway, a sense that her world had been tilted the right way up once more just by having him in her presence. She had tried to fight against that tug of fate, that intrinsic bond that has connected them for so long, but it has proven to be futile.
Tyrion Lannister told her that he cannot be part of her life any longer. Jorah still persists in following her.
He lives within her very bones now, within her very heart, and how is she supposed to live without that?
