09x02, 'Krakens'

It's a risky gambit, Dany knows. Any number of things could go wrong. She remembers all too well how Drogon had been pierced with the spear from the scorpion. How Viserion was felled by the Night King.

But they have to try. Wiping out the Greyjoys would significantly weaken Cersei's position. There will be no replacing Euron's strength at sea. Without that, Cersei can do naught but wait for the dragon to come to her door.

And Yara certainly wants revenge against her uncle.

The two queens sit in front of a fire in Pyke's dank main hall. Jon has excused himself, much to her relief. Just looking at those brooding, northern features reminds her of everything she could still yet lose.

Yara takes a swig of ale now. "So, are you two—?"

"No," Dany interrupts.

Yara raises an eyebrow. "Why not? He's attractive, even if he is a Stark. A damned sight more attractive than the ugly fuckers who live here. Prettier than the women, too."

"He's just a bit…short for me," she says lamely.

Yara throws back her head and laughs. "Aye, he is short. So, do you have eyes on someone…taller?"

"No." The word comes too quickly, sounding defensive and guilty.

Yara smirks at her. "Names aren't necessary. I already know. And I don't blame you. Krakens and bears aren't usually compatible but if I had any interest in cocks I'd be game."

Daenerys feels her cheeks flush with treacherous heat. "It's not like that. We're good friends, nothing more."

Yara crosses her legs on top of the table. "If you say so." Her tone conveys nothing but disbelief. "But if you found yourself in the right circumstances, you'd be underneath him in a heartbeat, mark my words."

"That's enough of that," Dany grumbles. Yara smirks at her, completely unapologetic, tipping back in her seat.

"Maybe you want to be underneath someone else then, Your Grace?" she says cheekily. "A kraken could wrap around a dragon if the dragon was interested."

Dany can't help it. She laughs.
