Chapter 16: Metallia
Darkness enveloped the planet. All over the world, the sky was nothing but a black shadow. As the denizens of Planet Earth looked up, hope increasingly gave way to despair. Fear gripped many of the people to the point of panic. Many of the world's cities became ground for looting as desperate people broke windows, and stole anything that wasn't nailed down.
Many groups of humans felt their own dark impulses swell inside them. Inhibitions were all but erased in these people as they acted more like savage animals, violently attacking each other or anything that was breathing really.
Krillen, Yamcha, and 18 surrounded the shop. The trio wasn't looking at the sky as the three of them were too busy fending off humans under the influence of the darkness. The female cyborg was doing particularly well as she laid out scores of humans. Krillen and Yamcha were still useful in knocking out the stragglers.
"What in the hell has got people acting like this?" Yamcha frantically asked the noseless former monk.
"You don't see the sky. You don't feel the dark energy in the air?", Krillen replied just as frantically just before he knocked out another influenced human with a body shot.
"Damn these things!" 18 shouted as although she had taken each person she hit down without lethal force, didn't mean that she didn't want to utterly destroy them.
At that moment, the door of the shop opened and a small three year old girl with a pink nightie and blond pigtails exited the shop. The girl yawned and stretched her arms, oblivious to the chaos going on around her. Krillen saw her out of the corner of his eye and was aghast.
A male figure charged at the little girl full speed, wielding a knife. The figure leapt toward the air as he felt that the girl couldn't defend herself. Krillen darted at the assailant and grabbed the knife hand. The short fighter squeezed the wrist, causing sharp pain to dart through the clearly enslaved man. Without saying a word, Krillen threw a short jab right between the eyes, causing the man to fall unconscious. The noseless man turned to his daughter and smiled.
"Daddy, has a job to do. It's not safe for you my little chestnut," Krillen said as he picked up his somewhat sleepy daughter.
"Ok Daddy," the girl replied as Krillen lifted her up.
18 looked at Krillen and gave the order for him to take Marron inside. The monk would not refuse such an order as he knew his wife was not defenseless in the slightest and at the moment no more crazy people tried to attack. He went inside with his girl while Yamcha and the cyborg stood watch.
Metallia and her purple and black energy dominated the skies of the North Pole. Despair struck the group as the pure energy spirit cackled in triumph. Piccolo was at a loss for words, while Goten and Trunks were inside of their own anger for the fact that they couldn't blast the entity as it would only make the voracious creature stronger. The senshi were also in a state of quiet panic, for they knew that their only hope had become absorbed into the true head of the Dark Kingdom.
"Ah, no resistance I see. You sad, pathetic fools realize that you are nothing after all!" Metallia taunted to her opposition.
"I really wish that thing would shut up!" Trunks growled through gritted teeth.
"Me too Trunks," replied Goten in a similar, simmering rage.
Piccolo stayed silent, trying to formulate a plan how to attack Metallia. Nothing came to mind as this being was the most unique enemy that he had ever faced. The Namekian might as well been trying to punch the spirit of Queen Serenity, as he would've had as much success as if he tried to physically strike the current enemy.
The green fighter felt something at that moment. A faint signature had been detected by his ki sense. After a moment, Piccolo was able to pinpoint the origin of the signature. The origin was inside Metallia itself. Hope began to shine inside the green one.
"Gohan and Usagi are alive," Piccolo said.
Dende's Lookout
Dende was in despair as he saw the darkness envelop his planet. The guardian was knocking himself for he felt that he could do nothing against the black and purple apparition. Just as he was about to give up hope, the Namekian felt a similar feeling that Piccolo felt at the North Pole. Though he saw that evil was happening all over the earth, this positive feeling overrode the hopelessness he felt.
"Dende, your spirits seem like they are lifted," Mr. Popo said as he interrupted the guardian from his train of thought.
"Gohan and Sailor Moon...they are alive," Dende had gotten out, which caused happiness to happen within his black genie friend as well.
"Should we gather the dragonballs?" Popo said.
"Not yet, there is too much going on. We will have to wait until this creature falls. That is if this creature falls," Dende replied, heaviness on his heart.
"Dende, please don't despair. Since Sailor Moon and young Gohan are alive...there maybe hope yet," Popo said with a smile.
Dende nodded in response. The guardian knew he could not lose confidence in the couple. All he could hope for is that their powers would not be truly absorbed by Metallia.
Piccolo went over to the Sailor Guardians to tell the news. Hope permeated into the souls of the woeful teenage girls as they searched for their presence. The girls, just like Piccolo, felt the faint signature of the two absorbed combatants. Goten and Trunks saw the little bit of happiness of the group and used their own ki senses. Soon enough, the two super saiyans felt the same thing as Piccolo and the Guardians.
Metallia however fired an attack at the two saiyans, which the kids narrowly dodged. The two little fighters were about to fire an attack, but couldn't because they again felt that nagging thought of just feeding the monster.
"This sucks!" Goten shouted
"Patience Goten! We have to figure out a way to get your brother and Usagi out of that thing!" Piccolo urged the youngest fighter.
A small light descended out of Metallia. This little light split into four and went into each of the Sailor Guardians. Each senshi had memories of Usagi spark inside their minds. The girls felt their spirits rise as they remembered their friend inside the monster.
"You are so cute when you smile," Ami remembered.
"You are not alone in this fight anymore," Minako remembered.
"How dare you accuse Rei, she's beautiful and capable of finding your lost children," Rei remembered.
"Scared of a cute girl with Rose Earrings, that's ridiculous," Makoto remembered.
The spirits of those girls rose with those memories. Steeling themselves, the Guardians prepared for what they must do to awaken their friend and her Gohan.
"We have a way to awaken them….but there is a price," Minako said.
All of the fighters that weren't Minako gave their attention to the blond with the big red bow in her hair. The blonde looked over at her fellow senshi as she pulled out her transformation pen.
"Our powers, and possibly our lives. Do you three have senzu beans ready?" Minako stated then asked.
Goten held a bag out and smiled at the senshi. Trunks smiled as he was proud and surprised at his little friend and how responsible he looked at that particular time. Piccolo inwardly breathed a sigh of relief as the little kid didn't lose those all important little beans.
The four senshi raised their transformation pens toward the sky.
"Mercury Power!" shouted Sailor Mercury
"Mars Power!" shouted Sailor Mars
"Jupiter Power!" shouted Sailor Jupiter
"Venus Power!" shouted Sailor Venus.
Beams shot toward the creature and through the star-shaped scar on it's forehead. The energy did not seem to have any positive, or negative effect on the creature as it still felt just as strong as ever.
The girls went back into their civilian forms and fell down to the snowy ground at their feet. Piccolo took it upon himself to use his clothes beam to give the girls arctic outfits with several layers that covered up all exposed skin. Only the faces were uncovered as Goten placed a bean in each of their mouths. The girls couldn't chew the beans and fell out of each of their mouths.
The boys were shocked as it was not known if the girls were dead or alive.
Inside Metallia the four beams made their way toward the large crystal. The Blue, Red, Green and Orange lights went into the sparkly structure and shrunk it back into it's normal size. The Legendary Silver Crystal stood in front of Sailor Moon, which caused her to awaken. The girl opened her eyes and looked upon the bright jewel.
Gohan arose along with his girlfriend, gazing at the same jewel from its other side. The two stood and gazed at each other, wanting to know what to do next. The two couldn't help but look around at the dark predicament they found themselves in at the moment.
Voices surrounded the couple, causing both of them to develop a harsh headache. Wails of many small, dark entities cried at them in utter despair, enough to stun even the strongest of warriors. Metallia made herself known to the stunned couple as the two of them screamed out in pain.
"Ah yes, the Legendary Silver Crystal is mine! And so are you Prince and Princess. Give in to your despair and feed me!" Metallia proclaimed as tendrils of darkness grabbed both Gohan and Usagi. As the two of them struggled against the entity, Gohan reached his hand out to the crystal.
"Usagi! You have to fight!" Gohan urged.
"Gohan I can't" Usagi replied.
"Yes you can! We must fight this! Reach for the crystal with me before she takes it!" Gohan said.
Usagi reached out with her hand. A desire all of the sudden came from inside her. The will to live swelled within the Princess as she reached for her jewel along with her paramour. Then below the floating jewel lied a body. Gohan looked down upon this body and was shocked at what he found.
The body lying there, floating just within reach was Vegeta. The half-saiyan didn't know if the fellow prince was alive or dead, but he couldn't ponder that question for he was too busy struggling against the pull of a purely evil entity.
"Usagi, one hand on the jewel, the other on Vegeta! Ready!" Gohan said.
"Yes Gohan!" Usagi proclaimed.
The two then gave a mighty burst, both boy and girl touching the jewel and leaning on their fallen comrade. The light of the jewel intensified by the second as its power began to show. The heat of the light intensified inside the giant shadow creature, which strangely drew her to the power.
"I feel it's power...wait...my body is getting hot! What have you done!" Metallia screamed in apparent panic. The light swelled inside the spirit and she felt the energy do actual harm to her. Gohan and Usagi escape Metallia through a hole made by the crystal with Vegeta in tow. Gohan landed onto the same large ice patch Piccolo and the others were standing on and he placed the Saiyan Prince onto the ground.
Usagi floated down, the crystal slowing her down so that she didn't crash hard onto the patch. Sailor Moon gently landed beside her boyfriend, her crystal shining brightly. Sailor Moon raised her wand and the crystal returned to it's place upon the magical weapon.
The wand shone brightly, the light illuminating the north pole. The moon rod became a shining staff and Sailor Moon took hold of that staff. The crystal expanded until it had become a crystalline flower in full bloom. Sailor Moon planted her feet and pointed that crystal straight at the apparition.
"My friends I will not fail you. Through my prayer I will bring the power of the moon to bear upon this darkness!" Sailor Moon proclaimed.
Right after her proclamation the transformation pens of the sailor soldiers reacted. Four lights shot toward the moon in response to Sailor Moon's prayer. Piccolo and the two saiyan children watched in awe as the moon began to slowly shine like the crystal.
'Well, well Gohan. Looks like your faith in her isn't without merit,' Piccolo thought as Trunks and Goten could do nothing but gawk at the sight.
At the Moon Palace ruins, Luna had her head leaning against the dull, crystal monument. The cat seemed to lose all hope as Artemis felt he could do nothing but watch. However hopelessness began to disappear as that dull crystal began to shine. Luna gasped as the structure repaired itself right in front of her and her white cat companion.
"Her prayer is restoring this chamber," Luna exclaimed as she went to the statue and folded her paws in prayer with the Princess.
Then something else happened. The light shined so bright, that both cats couldn't believe it. The two of them felt that this light was the brightest it had ever been, many times that of the first fight with Metallia even. The two cats had to shield their eyes because of the intensity of the crystal monument of the moon. Luna then felt the source of that energy, and couldn't believe it.
"G-Gohan…." she said in astonishment.
In hearing that name, Artemis couldn't help but feel pure joy in his heart. The male cat knew that scouting out that boy all those years ago would bear fruit, and then he knew that him and Luna made the right decision.
'Sailor Moon and the Hero of the Cell Games…." Artemis thought.
Usagi fired a beam out of her wand. Metallia pushed against the light as the apparition wanted to consume Sailor Moon once and for all. Gohan watched as Metallia inched her way to Sailor Moon and closed his eyes to focus his energy. Instantly, he became Super Saiyan 3 and put his hand toward the crystal. A beam of light shot from Gohan, straight into the Ginzhouishou. The moon itself, along with the crystal shown a light that was many more times intense and Sailor Moon felt the power.
"Gohan, what are you doing?" Usagi cried.
"Helping...now let us obliterate this freak once and for all," Gohan commanded.
Metallia saw the moon and turned her attention toward the shining object. However before she could get anywhere close to the little sphere a force held her from doing anything. It was then that Usagi's attack, partially fueled by Gohan's energy, struck the evil spirit full force.
The attack crashed into the star shaped scar just above it's eyes. Right in front of Metallia, the energy took the shape of a giant beast's head. The last thing Metallia saw was the giant head of a Great Ape creature. The head roared as the attack struck Metallia full force, the sound heard all around the Planet Earth. Holy energy pushed against the dark spirit, and began to consume the thing that brought the darkness. Metallia screamed in agony as her form dissipated into nothingness.
As the shadow dissipated, Sailor Moon fell out of her transformation. However she felt her chest to find that she was still alive. Usagi looked down and saw that her brooch had a couple of cracks. Thankful that her brooch wasn't destroyed, the girl thought for a moment. A realization came to the girl.
'If it wasn't for Gohan helping….I would be dead!" Usagi thought to herself. The weary girl turned around and saw her boyfriend lying there in the snow. Tears formed on her face as she slowly made her way to her Gohan. Usagi shook Gohan as Piccolo and Goten floated toward the 's tears flowed as he saw Usagi frantically shake his older brother. Piccolo became somber as Usagi's put her head against Gohan's chest, crying tears of mourning.
Then a faint pulse pushed against Usagi's face. The girl then placed her ear at the center of Gohan's chest and she could hear something. The girl wound up faintly feeling the half-saiyan's heart still beating. The teen's chest then began rising up and down as he began taking air into his lungs.
"It will take more than that to get rid of me," Gohan weakly said.
"Damn it Gochan, you idiot!" Usagi cried as Gohan sat up.
Usagi wrapped her arms around her boyfriend as tears dropped upon his shoulder. Gohan took this moment to kiss the top of her head. The girl removed her head, only to receive another kiss from Gohan. This time full on the lips. The kiss surprised Goten and Piccolo to say the least.
"Eww...Kissy, kissy," Goten said with the expected revulsion a six year old boy would have.
"I agree with the sentiment," growled Piccolo, since he will never understand romance.
After the initial revulsion Goten and Piccolo experience, Goten gave both Gohan and Usagi a senzu. The two felt the effects almost immediately and both of them stood up with full energy.
The group looked over to see a sad sight. What they saw was Trunks, standing over the body of his father. The boy was numb, as silent tears fell from his eyes. The group floated toward the boy, with Gohan carrying Usagi. The group stood silent as they saw the body of Vegeta lying there. No one said anything as they looked over the bodies of the senshi and the saiyan prince, Usagi grabbing onto Gohan for support as tears fell from her eyes once again.
Gohan wanted to cry. He knew that in his heart of hearts that he could shed no tears. The teen knew that he had to be the strong one this time. Gohan had to be strong for Usagi, Goten and Trunks.
Then a voice reached both Gohan and Usagi. The couple recognized the voice instantly as that of the cat Luna. Breaking the embrace, Usagi responded to the cat first.
"Luna!" Usagi said in surprise.
"Usagi, I knew you could do it. Gohan, you also came through. Can you and Usagi come to the moon," Luna said.
"Luna, my brooch is damaged...I can't transform," Usagi pointed out.
"Damn, makes me wish I had Dad teach me instant transmission," Gohan pointed out.
"You may not have to transform Usagi, just pray to the crystal resting on your Moon Staff," Luna instructed.
Usagi picked up the staff and folded her hands for prayer as she held onto the sacred object. Gohan smiled as he placed his hands on her shoulders. The girl couldn't help but smile as she felt her boyfriends hands upon those shoulders.
'Legendary Silver Crystal, please transport me to the moon,' prayed Usagi.
A silver light surrounded the couple. After a few moments both the saiyan and the princess disappeared from the scene. Piccolo couldn't help but smile as he looked upon the moon, now shining it's normal shine.
"Where did they go?" Trunks asked as he finally broke his gaze from Vegeta's body.
"They'll be back," Piccolo simply said.
Usagi and Gohan appeared on the moon in a flash of light. The twosome couldn't believe their eyes as what was once ruins had become magically restored. The palace shined with a soft glow from the all white exterior. Fountains poured out crystal clear water as the twosome watched. The reflecting pools were filled with that same clean water. The long walkway was lighted by many pairs of tall, ornate lamps. Gohan looked at the sculpture at the front, which was the visage of Queen Serenity. Usagi noticed him looking over the statue, as if he were studying it. The saiyan saw his girlfriend smiling at him, and broke his pondering over that statue.
"I can't believe this whole palace is restored," Gohan said.
"I know Gochan, the crystal must've done this," Usagi replied.
"Well Usako, I believe we have to go inside. We can't keep Luna waiting," Gohan pointed out.
Usagi nodded and the two of them made their way up the steps to the grand door. The ornate doors of marble, with intricate images carved on the front, opened up for them and the couple entered the restored palace.
The couple made their way through the grand hall to the castle center dome. The golden doors opened and the feline guardians were there to greet the couple. Luna walked up to Usagi and had a warm smile grace her features.
"Usagi, thanks to you, Metallia is gone," Luna said with that same smile.
"Thank you Luna, though I did have help," Usagi pointed out.
"We felt Gohan's energy with your own power. It seems through your heart, Gohan has a bond with the silver crystal itself. It's not as strong as yours Princess, but it did prove instrumental," Artemis explained.
Gohan was surprised by this revelation. He thought he was giving his energy to the crystal just to help his girlfriend. The boy couldn't help but think of the Great Ape head that formed before the destruction of Metallia. His question never came out because a voice interrupted them.
The cats and the heroes looked over to a small stand near the giant prayer monument. The source of the interruption was a small hologram of Queen Serenity. The little group were shocked to see the image of the queen as it appeared on the pedestal.
"Queen?!" Usagi couldn't help but say in bewilderment.
"We thought your spirit had passed on your majesty," Gohan said, wanting answers.
"Yes Prince Endymion, I have indeed passed on. This prayer chamber allows me to communicate with you from the Other World.,," Queen Serenity stated.
Shock was apparent on the group of four as they heard this revelation. Gohan in particular because he had only had Other World communication from his father with assistance from a deity known as Kaiosama. That incident happened only once and hadn't known of anyone else with that capability.
"Princess Serenity, this is your home. The Legendary Silver Crystal has restored this palace, Silver Millennium, to it's former glory. Princess, you could usher in a new era of peace for the moon and for the earth," the queen proclaimed to her daughter's new incarnation.
"Thank you, your majesty. I just want to be Usagi Tsukino. An ordinary girl who wants to live, laugh..and love," Usagi said with the last two words directed toward Gohan as she looked up at him and leaned onto her saiyan. Gohan couldn't help but smile at his Usako.
"So be it," the Queen said in approval before she had a new brooch appear onto that table. Usagi picked up the rather ornate red and gold brooch. The container opened and there was an ivory colored small platform. The platform had a golden design with a star at the bottom part and a relatively large hole toward the top.
"Place the Legendary Silver Crystal inside the hole," instructed Queen Serenity.
Usagi put the jewel inside and the crystal fit into the compact perfectly. The girl grabbed her brooch and held it in her hand. Instructions were then told to Usagi from the queen and the girl heard loud and clear.
"You must say Moon Crystal Power, Make-Up."
"Moon Crystal Power! Make Up!" shouted Usagi.
Sailor Moon once again came into being. Gohan watched with the couple of cats as the transformation came into being. Sailor Moon looked and saw that the brooch replaced the damaged one she had once before. The lone senshi felt a renewed energy course through her very being. The young girl then went into the air and raised her moon staff once more.
"Moon Healing Escalation," she shouted as her power headed toward the Earth.
Gohan couldn't help but stare in awe as he felt the planet heal. The half-saiyan was amazed as he felt people being healed, the cities and land being restored and Earth having a general sense of new vitality. Gohan realized at this point that he had a strong connection with Earth itself. His amazement didn't go unnoticed by Luna and Artemis.
"You don't have to be so surprised Gohan. Sailor Moon and the Crystal are capable of many things," Luna pointed out.
"So I see," Gohan simply said as he felt pride in his Usako accomplishing such a feat.
Sailor Moon floated down to her boyfriend and the two of them looked each other in the eyes. The two smiled and felt that familiar pull. The two wanted to kiss and as the two of them were close to locking lips….
"Hope we aren't interrupting!"
The concentration of Gohan and Usagi was broken by a jovial, yet nasal type of voice. The two couldn't say anything at the jarring interjection as two more holograms appeared on opposite sides of a smiling Queen Serenity. One was a short, and rather portly figure with blue skin in a burgandy robe with black and white shoes and a black vest. The group couldn't help but notice the catfish-shaped head on the squatty character with black, cone-like sunglasses.
The other character surprised Gohan to the core. The man was a few inches taller than Queen Serenity, wearing an orange dogi with navy blue undershirt and boots. The half-saiyan had to do a double take as he saw the man with his hair going in many directions and a smile on his face.
"Dad…."Gohan said in utter surprise.
"You know them?" Usagi said.
"Why hello there Gohan! You lookin' like you seened a ghost!" the man said in his country manner.
"I see that you are not one for social graces, Mr. Goku Son," the queen lightly admonished with a smile.
"That's an understatement," groaned the blue figure with the nasal voice.
Goku scratched his head in bewilderment, much to the small laughter of the queen and the short figure. Gohan and Usagi walked up toward the holograms and the blue figure cleared his throat so that he could introduce himself.
"Well Gohan, Princess, I am North Kaio...though Goku and Enma tend to call me Kaiosama. No need to introduce yourselves." the figure said.
"Yeah, me and Kaiosama over here saw that whole fight between all of you and that thing called Metallia. You and Sailor Moon gave her a good ass kickin' thats fer sure," Goku said with pride in his voice.
"Goku, you forgot to mention me," Queen Serenity chided light-heartedly.
"Oh...I'm sorry..Queenie...I mean Your Majesty," Goku apologized as he dug up as much decorum as he could. Goku wasn't really known for said decorum so it wasn't that much, but at least he tried.
"Your Gohan's dad. My name's Usagi Tsukino, though you probably know that I'm Sailor Moon," Usagi said as she gave a bow to her boyfriend's father.
"Well Gohan, at least she's polite. Unlike that guy over there," Kaiosama said, the last part roasting Goku a bit. The saiyan couldn't help but chuckle nervously at the Kaio's statement.
"Anyway, you two are amazing. You and the Sailor Senshi make a true team. Those two cats with you are pretty smart too," Kaiosama pointed out.
Both Luna and Artemis smiled a bit at Kaiosama's statement. Luna leapt onto Usagi's head while Artemis leapt onto Gohan's shoulder. Gohan petted the white cat, who liked the gesture. Luna rested between the round buns on top of Sailor Moon's head as she looked at the three images.
"Gohan, Usagi, little kitties," Goku said.
"Luna and Artemis," Queen Serenity corrected.
"Sorry...again...Luna and Artemis, Thank you. Now go back to Earth and defend it," Goku said. The holograms disappear at that moment. The group didn't waste any time and teleported back to their home planet.
The senshi and the z fighters were onto a pier in the city. Piccolo and the two kids were surprised as they did not know how they got there. Goten looked over and saw the senshi still lying there while Trunks still kept an eye on his father and Piccolo looked around. The senshi began to stir and rose to their feet, surprising the little half saiyan. Piccolo and Trunks heard Goten's gasp as the Sailor Guardians woke up and rose to their feet.
The senshi looked over themselves, surprised that they were alive. Ami just happened to look over toward Vegeta, who had started to stir himself. The senshi glance toward the surprised Ami, and all three turned their eyes toward Vegeta, who slowly came to his feet.
Vegeta rose to his feet to see his son having his eyes toward the senshi. The prince had a long look at his son, and couldn't help but give a little smile toward him. Standing full height, Vegeta decided to clear his throat, which got the little boy's attention. Trunks smiled as wide as he was capable as he looked at his father.
"Dad! Your alive!" Trunks shouted excitingly.
Vegeta didn't immediately smile back, which startled his son. Trunks lost his smile as Vegeta looked upon him and it looked like everyone else in the group was staring. The saiyan prince could feel those stares, which caused his nostrils to flare for a bit.
A voice screaming 'everybody' cut the air and the group turned their attention toward the sound. The voice's origin was a rushing Sailor Moon, who had tears in her eyes as she ran up to the group. The senshi saw their princess and started to weep in joy. The bun headed Sailor Guardian ran up and joined her fellow girls. Their reunion was a tearful, yet joyful affair as Usagi was relieved to see her friends and the de-powered senshi were overflowing with happiness at the sight of their princess.
Gohan walked up to the group with Artemis and Luna, glad to see Usagi's relief in seeing her fellow girls. The half saiyan was surprised however as he happened to see Vegeta on his feet. A sense of relief hit the teenage boy as he didn't have to explain to Bulma about her husbands demise. Gohan walked up to Vegeta with the cats flanking either of his sides.
"So Gohan, did you get to New Namek somehow?" Vegeta asked.
"Actually Vegeta, we didn't use any dragonballs. Usagi used the crystal," Gohan explained.
The prince was genuinely shocked at the revelation. Sure, he had heard that the Ginzhouishou was powerful, but he thought that tales of it's power were exaggerated. Vegeta was silent for a few moments, but managed to find the words to say.
"You mean she restored this planet...and the life on it?" Vegeta questioned.
"Yes," was Gohan's simple answer with a smile.
"Hmph, sounds like your faith in the girl was not misplaced," Vegeta said with more of a smirk.
Goten ran up and jumped at his brother. Gohan caught the little saiyan, who started hugging him. The little brother laughed and then was put down by Gohan. The teen ruffled his little brother's hair as Piccolo made his way to the duo.
"Gohan, Goten, Piccolo, go join the girls. I want to speak to Trunks," Vegeta said clearly.
The three with those names were startled, but complied nonetheless and joined the senshi. Trunks look up at his father, genuinely not knowing what to do next. Father and son spent a few moments, just not speaking and looking at each other. Vegeta was not known for being sentimental and sometimes his son feels that he did something wrong to upset his father by mistake.
"Trunks," Vegeta said to break the silence. The lavender haired kid now was paying attention to his father intently.
"Trunks, you know...I never held you once. Not even when you were a baby. You've grown so much since then and I've been distant," Vegeta said.
"Dad, are you ok," Trunks said, genuinely confused at his father's behavior.
"I'm proud of you, son," Vegeta said as he picked up his son and gave him a hug.
Trunks didn't know what to do. After a moment, Trunks returned the hug and went back to his wide happy face. After a moment, Vegeta placed Trunks back onto his feet and smiled at his son. The father and son looked at each other at the moment.
"Aww! That was adorable!" said the voice of Sailor Moon.
Father and son looked over and saw the rest of the group looking at them. Gohan had a smile that reminded Vegeta too much of his dead rival, Goten had the same smile Trunks had, Piccolo had a smirk, the cats were grinning, and the senshi had a longing look at both Trunks and Vegeta. Vegeta glared at the group as he thought they looked like idiots.
"What in the hell are you idiots staring at!" Vegeta screamed at the group.
Their response was laughter at the prince's apparent embarrassment. Though it seemed he was getting angry, in truth he knew he couldn't really blame them. Though he felt that Gohan and the rest of the group were mostly sentimental fools, he felt that it could be worse. The prince swallowed his pride and just let the group act like themselves.
'At least I'm alive….now to make the most of it,' Vegeta thought, glad to no longer have that nagging voice of Metallia inside his head.
A/N: Glad I finished this chapter. I think one more chapter will do to wrap this story up. I figure that now would be the time to tell you plans for the future of this story.
This will be a series of fanfics. I'm not going to make this one giant fanfic as I find those to be hard to follow. Chibi-Usa's story will be written, that much is certain. However I might do a short Buu Saga story before hers since if events play out in a certain way, you can make it short and cut into maybe one day in the timeline without the whole Super Buu/Kid Buu crap. Future Trunks stopped Buu from escaping in his time, avoiding a ton of crazy stuff. It will be short if it is done at all.
Speaking of Chibi-Usa, since she will be Gohan's daughter, there will be differences. I will not say what those are, as I don't want to spoil the fun.
