The Cullen Wedding – Part 1

It was finally the day of the wedding. I was at the Blacks house to get ready. I was in Rachael's room as she did my hair and makeup.

Sue Clearwater was also there helping Rachael. Sue was dressed already to go to the wedding. She was wearing a long, green dress with a silver necklace. Her hair was down and straightened. She looked beautiful.

It was my first time properly meeting her, although I met her at the bonfire. She is very kind and loving but at the same time she is strong and brave.

It was us girls upstairs while the boys were downstairs. The Clearwaters, Sue and Seth, came to the Black's house to get ready since we would all travel together along with Billy.

Paul and Embry were also here. They weren't coming to the wedding but were just here because Rachael and I were.

I stared at the mirror as the girls worked away. They left my hair down but curled it. The makeup was a more natural look and was done to 'highlight my features' as they said. When they had finished, I had to admit they did a good job. "Thank you." I said with a grin.

"It was our pleasure." Sue reassured. "I never get to do these things with Leah." She admitted with a sad smile.

I frowned at the woman. "Well, if you ever want to give me a make-over, you are welcome to anytime." I told the lady which made her smile.

Rachael suddenly clasped her hands together. "Make sure you two invite me." She stated before grabbing the dress. "Now, put this on."

She shoved the black dress into my hands as I moved behind the changing wall to get changed. I slipped the dress on before I put on the heels. When I moved back into view, the two gushed over me.

"You look so good!" Rachael squealed.

"You're so beautiful." Sue gasped.

I felt my cheeks heat up from the compliments. "Thanks." I said shyly.

"Come on." Rachael grabbed my arm. "We have to show Embry."

I had no choice but to follow otherwise her dragging would make me fall over. As we walked downstairs I could feel the butterflies in my stomach. For some reason I was nervous for him to see me. If this was how I felt for attending a wedding, imagine when it's the school dance.

"Oh, boys." Rachael teased as we reached the room where they were gathered.

Everyone's eyes turned to us. "Not bad, Maddi." Paul smirked as he walked up to Rachael.

"You look so pretty." Seth encouraged with a smile.

I blushed at the comments. "You look good too, Seth." He was wearing a white shirt with a grey jacket over the top. It was neat but not over the top. I turned to Billy. "And you do too, Billy." He also wore a white shirt but with a black jacket.

He chuckled slightly as he wheeled himself closer. "Thank you, Maddi. But you and Sue really do steal the show."

I saw Sue scoff playfully while I smiled. I think Billy was interested in the woman.

I turned to face the person I really wanted to see. Embry was staring at me without saying a word. I tilted my head and frowned slightly. Was something wrong?

"Dude." I heard Paul speak up. "Pick your jaw off the ground and compliment her. You're freaking her out." He joked to Embry.

Embry seemed to snap out of his trance as he walked towards me. He grabbed my hands. "You look beautiful." He said with a soft smile.

I was receiving compliments but only his made my heart skip a beat. We stared into each other's eyes until Sue started clapping. "Okay, we better leave now otherwise we will be late."

We all moved outside and stood by the car. The others were helping Billy into the car as Embry called Seth over.

"What's up?" Seth asked happily as he stood next to us.

Embry nodded in my direction. "I'm trusting you to make sure she has a good time but most importantly, make sure you keep an eye on her." He stated.

Seth waved his hand. "Don't worry." He said cheerfully. "I'll look out for her and she'll have a blast."

"Seth." Embry said seriously. "I can't be there to protect her. I'm trusting you."

Seth turned more serious as the two stared at each other. I knew Seth was closer to the Cullens now, mainly Edward, after the battle. Embry didn't mind them but the thought of me being around vampires didn't sit well with him. I think Seth realised this.

"Leave it to me." Seth said with a nod that Embry returned.

I stood there awkwardly. They made it sound like I was going to war. Which suddenly reminded me. "Hey." I caught both their attention. I glanced down at my leg at my injury. "Will this, you know, make them go crazy?"

The boys understood what I was trying to ask, whether my graze would smell of blood. Embry looked down at it. "No." He stated. "It's started to heal so it's not fresh blood. They won't be tempted by it." He reassured.

"As long as you don't reopen it." Seth suddenly added. Embry gave him a disproving look. "Sorry. Shutting up."

"Come on, you two." Billy called out from the car. The others had finished helping him in.

I gave a hug to Embry. "Be careful." He whispered in my ear.

"I will." I reassured him as I pulled away. I hopped in the backseat of the car with Seth. I looked out the window and gave a small wave to Embry as we drove away.

We pulled out the front of the most extravagant house I had ever seen. Like, it was amazing. I guess when the Cullens had lived for hundreds of years, they would be rich.

Sue and Seth helped Billy out the car as I grabbed the wheelchair from the back. I brought it around to the passenger seat as Sue and Seth helped sit him down in it.

Sue pushed the wheelchair as we walked up to the house. We followed the path around the house, leading to the back.

Suddenly, a girl with short, black hair in a purple dress pulled a boy in a black tuxedo with blonde hair towards us. "Hi." She said in a sing-song voice. "We are so glad you guys could make it."

"Glad we could make it." Billy spoke to the two.

It was being as close to them that I realised it. They both had golden eyes. Vampires. These were the Cullens. I felt my breathing increase as I unconsciously grabbed Seth's arm.

I saw the boy look down at me. I think he knew why since he tried to give me a reassuring look.

We watched as two more people walked over. One of them was a woman in a grey dress with long, black hair. She was accompanied by someone I recognised, Carlisle.

"Thank you for coming." The woman spoke in a soft voice.

Carlisle agreed with her. "Truly. It means a lot." There seemed to be a mutual head nod between Billy and Carlisle.

Suddenly, the pixie haired girl spoke up. "You must be Maddi." She looked at me as I felt myself tense. "We've heard about you. I love your dress."

I could feel myself shaking slightly from fear but I couldn't stop myself. I opened my mouth to reply but nothing came out.

Suddenly, I felt a rush of calmness over me. I don't know what happened but the fear disappeared. Before I could even begin to question it, the girl spoke up again. "Sorry." She apologised before introducing themselves. "I'm Alice." She turned to the boy besides her. "This is Jasper." She moved to the next two. "You know Carlisle and this is Esme."

I finally found my voice. "It's nice to meet you."

Esme smiled kindly at me. "You as well." She then addressed all of us. "I hope you all enjoy the wedding."

"Thank you very much." Sue replied back kindly.

Carlisle gestured further down the path to where there were seats. "If you continue, you'll find where the ceremony will commence. Please enjoy yourselves."

"Thank you." Billy stated before Sue began to wheel him in that direction. Seth followed as he stepped forwards. It was then I realised I was still clutching his arm.

I immediately let the boy go as I followed him. "Sorry." I mumbled to the boy.

Seth grinned at me. "It's fine." He glanced back at the Cullens before looking at me. "See, they aren't bad people. They won't hurt you."

I snuck a glance back at them. I bit the inside of my cheek. They haven't done anything to me. In fact, they've only been kind and welcoming. The fact that they are vampires is the only reason I keep my distance.

We walked towards the seats for where the ceremony would be held. I glanced around at the set up. It was gorgeous.

The seats were wooden with vines wrapped around them. White flowers dangled above our heads and the alter had an arch of white flowers.

I was glancing around in awe as Sue saw my face. "Pretty, isn't it?" She questioned me.

"It really is." I admitted. "They did an amazing job setting it up."

Sue smiled. "Is this what you want your wedding to look like?" She asked with a knowing look.

Her question caught me off guard. "I don't know. I will have to think about it when it gets closer." I turned to the woman. "I'm still a bit young to be getting married."

Seth joined in on our conversation. "Bella's only 18 and she's getting married." He pointed out the similarity in our ages.

I opened my mouth to reply but I had no comeback. I sighed in defeat. "I'm still not marrying young." I mumbled to them. I saw Sue smile, Seth laugh and Billy chuckle. I couldn't stop the grin that grew on my face.

We sat down on the row at the back so Billy could put his chair on the opposite side to the aisle. Sue sat down closest to him, then Seth and then me. I was right next to the aisle.

The seats were already packed with family and friends. I scanned to see if I recognised anyone. I spotted Carlisle, Esme, Alice and Jasper. They were next to the alter where Edward was standing. I knew there were more Cullens so I turned to Seth.

"Hey, Seth." I grabbed the boy's attention. "Who are the other Cullens?" I asked.

He seemed surprised by the question but looked up anyway, surveying the area. "See that girl and boy there?" He pointed out a girl with blonde hair in a grey dress with a purple ribbon and a large man with dark hair in a tuxedo.

"Yeah." I answered with a nod.

"That's Rosalie and Emmett." Seth stated. "You've met the rest of them."

I nodded in understanding. "Thanks." I said as I stared at the Cullens. They really looked like normal people. Well, beautiful people.

My thoughts were interrupted as music began to play, signalling the bride was coming. Everyone who was standing, went to their seats, leaving Edward alone at the altar. I turned to see Bella walk out from the house with her father, Charlie.

Bella looked stunning. Her white dress flowed down to the ground but also fit her body. Her hair was in a neat bun with strands of hair cupping her face. It was easy to notice she was nervous as they walked down.

I watched as she passed me, making her way down the aisle. She was looking around nervously until her eyes landed on Edward. She seemed to relax after seeing him smiling at her.

When they reached the altar, Charlie gave Bella's hands to Edward and sat down.

We all watched as the ceremony began. The two exchanged their vows and their rings. They looked like they were the only ones there. Like their surroundings disappeared.

I unconsciously smiled. They truly loved each other and I was happy for them. I did feel sorry for Jacob but seeing Bella and Edward happy together, there is nothing he can do.

"You may now kiss the bride." The pastor spoke.

Edward held onto Bella as the two exchanged a kiss. Everyone began to clap as I joined in. I guess Bella Swan just became Bella Cullen.
