Chapter sixty: This is war, part four- destruction
Over at Jaku General Hospital, the heroes were still struggling with dealing with all of the nomus that were coming out. "We're in some real dire straits here!" one female pro hero with an axolotl theme called out, "Please someone tell me that word got out over our comm devices and some heroes are on their way here to back us up!"
Hizashi, after shouting at a nomu with his quirk to blast it into a wall, said, "I got word in my earpiece from some UA students! Five of them are on their way here to try and lighten the load for us!"
"Only five?" Endeavor barked, "And they're students?!"
"One of them's your baby boy, Endeavor," Hizashi said before shouting another nomus away, "Lil' Todoroki's coming with the Bakugo boy, Green Bean, the Uraraka girl who's sweet on Green Been, and Nejire-chan!"
Endeavor blasted a lesser nomu away with his Hellflame quirk. "Shoto's group is coming here?! Where the hell is Ryukyu?! She's supposed to be watching them and looking after them while leading them in evacuating civilians!"
"They're literally all that could be spared to us," Hizashi said, then he had to take a break to throw back a lesser nomu. "And Nejire-chan over the comm device told me it's just her and her junior hero students who are coming! Ryukyu was originally leading them, but she sent the kids on ahead because Felgrand showed up! Ryukyu is going to try buying as much time for us as possible to wrap things up here by doing whatever she can to hold off Felgrand!"
"She's fighting Felgrand?!" Ms. Joke shouted, "Alone?! Please tell me that's just a bad joke, because if not then she'll die buying barely a second of time!"
Scoffing, Hizashi threw another nomu back by shouting at it. "Well Ryukyu is going to do what she can! Because I got it over the comm device before the message from Nejire that both of Dabi's monsters are on their way here! Felgrand and Gigantomachia!"
Gran Torino, after he kicked a moderately strong nomu away, wore a wide eyed look of dawning horror. "...You're kidding me. Dabi's bringing two forces of nature right here?! He really does wanna kill us all, doesn't he?!"
Endeavor, growling in frustration, unleashed a burst of Hellflame that took out multiple nomus, although a few pro heroes including Ms. joke had to leap out of the way. "I'm going after the two heroes sent after Garaki!" Endeavor barked, "Cut things here off at the bastard source!" Endeavor blasted his way through a few more nomu to go right down the hidden path that led to where Ujiko had his secret nomu lab.
Ujiko was frantically packing things up into a bag as he was getting ready to leave and get as far away as possible. The many nomus were doing well to buy him time, but most of them were mindless automatons basically, while the army of pro heroes were thinking, strategizing enemies. The nomus' brute power will only hold off all of those pro heroes for so long, and by then the good doctor planned to be well away from there.
So as one would imagined, Ujiko's heart stopped when he heard the bellowing voice of Endeavor bark out, "GARAKI!" Ujiko turned and saw Endeavor flying right at him, eliciting a frantic expression of fright out of Ujiko. In nearly an instant, Endeavor had grabbed Ujiko by the front of his shirt under the lab coat, but Ujiko let out a cry that summoned four lesser nomus out, all of them flying right for Endeavor. The Flame Hero was forced to drop his target and fly back to gain some distance so he could fight the nomu, letting Ujiko scramble to get what all he needed.
But Ujiko knew that even the four nomus together couldn't beat Endeavor. Not ones of that low a quality, at least. They were only buying him time to put one last thing in his bag, close the bag up, and run over to a terminal console with some buttons, dials, and two small monitor screens on it. Ujiko was going to slam his fist hard down upon the biggest red button on the console, and did so just as Endeavor grabbed him by the back of his shirt and spun him around, grabbing him by the front of the good doctor's shirt once again.
Endeavor looked down at Ujiko with a smirking, sneering leer. "You evil ends here, villain." Endeavor's expression changed to confusion as lights started flashing red all over the lab room they were in, similarly a blaring siren went off. Endeavor then turned to look at Ujiko when he heard the good doctor start to laugh. "What in blazes did you just do?!" the Flame Hero demanded angrily.
"Initiated a self-destruct sequence that can't be stopped once started," Ujiko said as his words were laced with the low tone laughter of a mad scientist, "Although I did set the time for five minutes. A back-up plan to cover my tracks in case I was forced to take off, like what you heroes have forced me into. Soon, the entirety of Jaku General Hospital, this lab and everything else above, will be blown to oblivion."
"Are you mad?!" Endeavor barked, his eyes widening out of surprise.
"Oh come now, I activated it knowing that you heroes had already gotten all of the hospital staff and patients out of there and to safety before the fighting started," Ujiko said, "But there are still so many heroes inside. Can you warn them in time?"
"How would you escape?" Endeavor barked.
"A secret pod on a track that would take me straight to a hidden safe house," Ujiko said, "I would be out of here in less than a minute, and virtually halfway across Japan by the time the hospital was destroyed! Modern technology sure is amazing! Ah ha ha ha!"
Endeavor scowled bitterly, knowing that he didn't have much time, which was lessened by him grilling Ujiko here. Grabbing a hold of the good doctor, Endeavor flew out of the lab and back the way he came, burning up some nomus on the way. He had to rush to warn everyone to evacuate the hospital, hoping like hell that he wasn't going to be too late.

Hizashi was leading a few other pro heroes, including Ms. Joke and Gran Torino, as they ran down the hallway Endeavor had gone done. They all figured that Endeavor was going to need backup, as even he would be in dire straits if he went right into the heart of nomu country on his own. "You think Endeavor will be alright when we all get there to help him out?" Ms. Joke asked.
"He's a tough bastard," Hizashi said, "It'll take a lot more than a bunch of nomus to kill him."
Gran Torino had a grim look of trouble on his face. "...Dabi can use 'a lot more than a bunch of nomu' whenever the fancy strikes him."
As the heroes continued to run for Endeavor, Ms. Joke looked up at some flashing red lights along the top of the hallways walls on both sides as the siren continued to blare. "Uhhg! What the hell is with the lights and sirens?! That villain doctor jerk isn't going to unleash a third-"
"EVERYBODY EVACUATE NOW!"
Ms. Joke was cut off when she and the other pro heroes saw Endeavor fly right for them, carrying Ujiko by the back of his coat and shirt. "Evacuate from the hospital right now!" Endeavor barked, "Garaki here has initiated a self-destruct sequence! Everything here is going to be blown to smithereens in less than five minutes!"
"Oh shit!" Hizashi yelled as he and everyone else turned around, running for dear life while Endeavor flew overheard carrying Ujiko, in a mad dash to escape from Jaku General Hospital before it blew up.
Meanwhile back at the Villa, Fat Gum came charging back onto the scene, only to see Mt. Lady charge off on one odd direction with a number of other heroes going along with her. Fat Gum was about to say something but was cut off when the hero students who he left behind all suddenly rushed past him going with the departing pro heroes. "Hey kids!" Fat Gum yelled, "Where are you going?" Looking around, the BMI Hero was shocked to see a villain in a hooded coat manipulating ice in a move to attack the pro heores that the students were going after.
Leaping in quickly, Fat Gum reached the coated villain and tackled him to the ground, cutting off his focus and making all of the manipulated ice fall to the ground. "I have no idea what it is that you're planning on doing," Fat Gum practically snarled at the coated villain, "But like hell I'll let you throw your quirk around to attack my fellow pro heroes!"
"A large group of your fellow government dogs were going after Gigantomachia to try to restrain him," Geten said, "Not helping is how Dabi and a few of his elites are riding on Gigantomachia's back, so they may try to capture them as well. I was trying to attack those pros to keep them from going after the Grand Commander!"
"Well tough tushy for you," Fat Gum said, "I'd like to see you try to go after them while I got myself all up in your fa-"
*YOINK*
Fat Gum was grabbed and pulled away from Geten, before being thrown off to the side. After recovering, Fat Gum saw that it was Re-Destro, who was now pitch black and tall and buff. Fat Gum could tell that Re-Destro was going to keep him occupied to free up Geten, and only the arrival of half a dozen fire quirk using sidekick pro heroes immediately confronting Geten gave Fat Gum enough breathing room to tackle this new opponent. "...You're the head of Detnerat," Fat Gum said, "I heard that you had lost both of your legs during a recent attack on Deika City, but you look whole and undamaged."
"One of my Grand Commander's elite subordinates has a truly marvelous healing meta ability that restored my legs," Re-Destro said, "Although said meta ability requires her to eat a lot of the Kilo Cookies produced as one of the products one of my properties produces, so as to have the weight to convert into healing energy."
Fat Gum scowled bitterly. "...Yeah, I know about Kilo Cookies. I've had them quite a few times myself. So they're produced by one of your properties, huh?"
Re-Destro shifted himself to more properly face Fat Gum, raised his fists in a manner to show he was ready to fight. "I'd like to see you try to get past me, Fat Gum. I'm one of the best that's in the Paranormal Liberation Front." Knowing that he didn't have a choice in the matter, Fat Gum resigned himself to having to duke it out with the balding hulking figure in front of him, hoping that his fat would last him enough to get out of this war alive.
As the BMI Hero got ready to fight Re-Destro, he got some communications over the comm device in his ear. "We just got word word that Ryukyu was seen fighting against Felgrand in the skies earlier," a female pro hero said, "They both landed back down, but shortly afterwards the dark skies above cleared up before Felgrand flew back up and took off in the direction of Jaku General Hospital! We're not sure of Ryukyu's status yet, but we're getting close to where she was seen landing with Felgrand earlier! We'll have visual in a few minutes!"
"Save any bad news until after all of the fighting is over," Fat Gum remarked, having a gut feeling that if he heard something bad happening to one of Japan's top heroes, he'd likely lose some heart for battle. Being demoralized right now was the last thing that the heroes needed, so hopefully the people communicating over the comm devices will know better than to broadcast any bad news concerning pro heroes to the ones still fighting. With that last bit, Fat Gum focused on the duel that he was about to have against Re-Destro.
The war would not permit the heroes even a moment's respite.
Back at Jaku General Hospital, in the main front area, the pro heroes were still fighting the various nomus despite the flashing red lights they were seeing, as well as the blaring siren noises they were hearing. After one slender male pro hero smashed the exposed brain head of a lesser nomu, he and the other pro heroes were all surprused to see Endeavor fly out from the entrance to a hidden hallway, carrying the doctor scientist who had been identified as Garaki, one of the key players in the villains' production of the nomu monsters.
Following along under where Endeavor was flying were the other pro heroes who went in after Endeavor to back him him. Everyone fleeing out of that hidden hallway entrance looked to be rushing with all due haste. "Vacate from the hospital now!" Hizashi yelled, clearly in a panic, "It's about to be blown to kingdom come! That's what the red flashing lights and blaring siren noises are all for!"
The panicked shout of Present Mic rattled all of the pro heroes still there, prompting all of them to flee from Jaku while fighting off what nomus were still there; the nomus, due to a mix of their low intelligence, compultion to keep the heroes here, and not understanding what Hizashi had just said, had no idea that the place that they all were in was about to blow. As such, the nomus kept fighting while trying to keep some of the escaping pro heroes from fleeing. What's worse is that they managed to grab a hold of some of the fleeing pro heroes.
Even so, most of the pro heroes, including Endeavor who was still carrying Garaki, got out of the hospital and far enough away to cover themselves from the explosion by hiding behind whatever large rocks and thick enough trees they found that they hoped would cover them. By the time he and the others all got out of the soon to be doomed hospital and found cover, Endeavor by his estimation felt there were mere seconds left before the place was blown to oblivion. After a few seconds passed and he heard no explosion, Endeavor turned to look at Garaki.
Grabbing him by the front of his coat, Endeavor snarled at the good doctor, "That all wasn't just a bunch of showmanship to bluff us into thinking the place was actually going to bl-"
*BOOM*
Meanwhile, many pro heroes were trying to keep Gigantomachia from proceeding forward, including Mt. Lady who was in giant size and trying to push the still larger than her Gigantomachia back, her hands against his shoulders as she tried pushing him backwards. But the strength of Gigantomachia was proving to be more than the giantess pro hero could deal with. Furthermore, Dabi himself was riding on Gigantomachia's back, along with his subordinates Spinner, Toga, Mr. Compress, Skeptic, Rappa, Agari, and Revy.
Dabi was casting his blue flames, and Mr. Compress was tossing out compressed marbles and un-compressing them, sending large hunks of rubble out. Had it not been for all of the other pro heroes helping with trying to keep Gigantomachia and the party riding on his back from reaching Jaku General Hospital, then Mt. Lady would have long since been overwhelmed by Gigantomachia alone; the others trying to draw the fire of the party on the behemoth's back also helped as said attacks would otherwise have gone on to strike Mt. Lady in the face.
While the pros struggled to tackle Gigantomachia, at a safe distance away but the distance was closing, Kyoka pulled one of her earphone jacks out of the ground as she had been using it to detect when enemy forces were heading in their direction. "Something's coming," Kyoka said, "Something... big."
"Oh shit," Tetsutetsu swore, "You don't think it's Felgrand in his gargantuan size, do you?"
"Considering the fact he can fly, I don't think so," Kyoka replied, "I think it might be what Yaomomo and Setsuna said their pro hero mentor Majestic said is Dabi's other big monster."
A few of the actual pro heroes there with the kids ran in the direction of the large thing coming their way, with one pro saying, "You kids hang back and keep a safe distance!"
"Don't mind if we do," Kurata said dryly as she and the other hero students watched the pro heroes rush off to what had a very fair chance to be their doom.
...
Meanwhile back over where the pros were struggling to deal with Gigantomachia, Mt. Lady was still trying to push Gigantomachia back while the other heroes were doing a mix of helping push back with attacks on Gigantomachia's front or by drawing the fire that was coming from Gigantomachia's back in the form of Dabi's blue flames and the material being un-compressed after Mr. Compress threw marbles out. Dabi scoffed in bitter annoyance after some pink sparkly aura wave blocked a blue flame attack he tried casting at Mt. Lady.
"Wow, these heroes really wanna stop us from reaching Jaku, huh?" Dabi asked dryly, the hint of annoyance still in his tone.
"Don't worry Dabi," Skeptic said, "Both Gigantomachia and Felgrand are on their way to Jaku." Looking at a laptop he had with him that was working, Skeptic said, "And according to the satellite data I'm getting here, Felgrand's path will soon catch up with and meet up with our own, meaning both Gigantomachia and Felgrand will be in the same location. The heroes are all working overtime to stop just Gigantomachia, and they're only slowing us down by a few seconds." Skeptic turned to look up at his Grand Commander, shot him a wry look of amusement. "...Just imagine the panic it'll send the heroes into if both of your big elite units are in the exact same area at the same time."
Dabi returned Skeptic's look with a similar one of his own. "The first thing I'll do when Felgrand catches up to us is have him pry Mt. Lady away from Gigantomachia if she's still trying to push him back by the time Felgrand arrives."
"Wait," Toga said, "Doesn't Felgrand have a super speed quirk? Can't he just zip right up to us in an instant?"
"He's traveling alone right now to meet up with us," Spinner pointed out, "There's no one with him that we can communicate with to pass along an order from Dabi to speed up the catching up with us. We can't prompt him to travel at a quicker pace, meaning he's coming at his own pace."
"It shouldn't take too much longer for Felgrand to catch up anyway," Skeptic said as he looked at his laptop screen, "As he is right now, Felgrand will get here in a few minutes."
"A few minutes?" Rappa said, "Sounds like he really is taking his time. Wait, he's not being restrained by pro heroes too like Gigantomachia, is he?"
"I heard there's hero students among the pro heroes," Revy said, "Maybe Felgrand spotted a few and is carefully picking them out so he doesn't kill them. He seems to have a serious thing against killing hero students."
Dabi nodded once in understanding. "In any case, we gotta pick up the slack." Looking forward, Dabi called out, "Oi, Gigantomachia!" The very instant he heard his new master call his name, Gigantomachia roared out excitedly, hoping Dabi will give him an order. "Can you speed this up?" Dabi said, "I wanna get to Jaku General Hospital while there's still some living pro heroes over there! Can't let the nomus over there have all the fun!"
Gigantomachia gave another excited roar before grabbing Mt. Lady by her shoulders and throwing her out of his way before rushing onward. To the fright of the hero student group from UA, Mt. Lady was flying right for them and would squish them into hero student pancakes if they didn't move. But move they did, and all of them got away just in time to avoid being squashed by a giant woman's giant butt. As Mt. Lady struggled to get back up and run to catch up to Gigantomachia, Majestic flew by with Nemuri riding with him on one of his energy circles.
"Hey now," Majestic said, "I heard some crazy ideas from girls I talked to while visiting hostess clubs, but this is ridiculous! You wanna actually get close to the face of that big behemoth that dwarfs even Mt. Lady while she's giant?"
"If that monster makes it into the city, then the city's doomed," Nemuri said, "Look, that beast that Dabi and some of his subordinates are riding on the back of is a force of nature that can't be stopped by force. That being said, we're gonna have to put it to sleep, and I got just the quirk for the job!"
Nemuri and Majestic were then cut off when a stream of blue fire and some falling debris came flying at them from atop of Gigantomachia. Majestic was able to conjure an energy circle he used to block the attacks coming for him, but Nemuri ended up getting knocked off of the energy circle that he was riding on. "Majestic, you son of a bitch!" Dabi shouted down at the Magic Hero, "I knew you couldn't be fully trusted! I was wise to never let you in on everything! You were a spy sanctioned by the HPSC bigwigs, weren't you?"
Majestic gave an ironic laugh. "A magician never reveals his secrets!"
...
Down where she fell onto the ground, Nemuri propped herself up as she wracked her brain to think of who can help put Gigantomachia to sleep. Realizing she had no other options, she used the comm device she had to contact the hero students from UA who were nearby. "Yaoyorozu!" Nemuri said, "Can you hear me?!"
"Yes, Kayama-sensei!" Yaoyorozu's voice replied.
"Good," Nemuri said, "Now look, I would NEVER do this under normal circumstances, but I need you to use your quirk to spawn canisters of anesthetic to throw into the mouth of the big lumbering beast making its way in the direction of Jaku!"
"Wait, what?" Yaoyorozu exclaimed, "Kayama-sensei, the others here and I just saw that thing, and it's gotta be five meters taller than Mt. Lady and at least three times as buff! Do you know how much of a concentrated dose will be needed to work on a monster that big?! Not to mention how what you're asking me to do is illegal!"
"If that thing reached Jaku, the city will be wiped!" Nemuri said, "Many innocents will lose their lives! Forget the law right now! There's more important things at risk!" To her worry, Nemuri saw some villains approach where she was down at. "If it's too tough for you and the others to do, give the anesthetic to a pro hero and have them do it! Go! Now!" Nemuri then cut the communication off at that, hoping that Yaoyorozu will get the idea of how desperate things are here. Nemuri, as she saw her soon to be attackers coming for her, knew that Yaoyorozu was a smart girl, so she would trust her judgment.
...
After she lost contact with Nemuri, Yaoyorozu looked a bit worried. Seeing her fellow UA students look to her, Yaoyorozu wracked her brain quickly to think of a plan of action. "Kyoka! Shoji!" Yaoyorozu said, "I need you two to use your quirks to listen for what's coming! It's Dabi's monster Gigantomachia! We're going to be putting it to sleep, all of us here!"
"Wait, what?" Shihai said, looking confused as if he thought he had misheard Yaoyorozu.
"Determine when he will come to our location," Yaoyorozu went on, "Shoji, you can also tell us visually since you can extend a tentacle with an eyeball up high enough, also because Gigantomachia is big enough you can see him from a distance when he comes."
"Wait," Kyoka said, her earphone jacks plugged into the ground, "I can hear him coming!"
"Honenuki," Yaoyorozu said to Juzo, "I need you to help with slowing Gigantomachia down!"
Juzo nodded once in understanding, before he gave an amused chuckle. "No wonder my bud Yosetsu's got the hots for you. You're smart, look good, and know how to take command."
Yaoyorozu blushed a bit out of embarrassment before she started spawning canisters of anesthetic. Handing them out to each of the hero students with her, Yaoyorozu said, "We're going to try to get at least one of these into Gigantomachia's mouth. I know doing this is illegal, but given the circumstances, I think we'd be excused if we got as many of these into that monster's mouth as possible, although at least one is the goal."
"Let's do this," Kaminari said as he and the rest of the hero students there got ready to spring into action.
END, CHAPTER SIXTY
Author's notes;
This chapter sees fighting at Jaku General Hospital rage on, with Ujiko ultimately initiating an emergency self destruct sequence when Endeavor captures him, promting the Flame Hero to make a mad dash to get out of there, warning all of the heroes he meets along the way about the doom that's going to come, everyone barely got out in time before the sequence went off, resulting in an explosion that you'll see the results off in a chapter or two.
That's because following the big boom, things cut to the heroes' efforts to slow Gigantomachia down, with Nemuri passing the order along to Yaoyorozu and her fellow UA students to put Gigantomachia to sleep before he can reach the area of Jaku. Things will be focusing on the efforts to slow Gigantomachia down until around the point he's just about reached where Dabi wanted him to take him, then cut to just after the explosion and see Endeavor and the heroes fight until Gigantomachia shows up so he, Dabi, and the others can have fun.
I don't wanna jump back and forth between the heroes dealing with the nomus at Jaku General Hospital('s remains) and the heroes dealing with Gigantomachia, so the two separate lines will be resolved one at a time until they both reach the point they merge into one line again. I'm also going to have to include a bit showing Izuku's group making their way to back up Endeavor and (what's left of) the other pro heroes at Jaku. Things will (hopefully) be resolved quickly, so until then, see you later.
