A/N Hello everyone I'm back with another chapter for you all. The usual thanks are in order. Enjoy ch 12

Ch 12 Doubting One's Sanity

Kopa chuckled to himself as the blood flowed out of Simba's neck and the King's eyes rolled back in his head as the life left him. "That's one score settled," Kopa said to himself with a smile as he got of Simba's lifeless body and wiped the blood off of him. "Now you're rotting in Hell where you belong," Kopa spat out. Just then he heard someone call his name.

"Kopa?" the voice said, sounding like it was echoing. "Kopa?" Kopa closed his eyes and shook his head. When he opened his eyes he saw Simba staring at him with a look of concern. "Kopa?" Simba said again. "Are you alright?"

"Huh?" Kopa said, shaking his head again as he realized that he had imagined killing Simba. "Oh yeah I'm fine King Simba," Kopa said, shaking his head once again. "My head hurts though. I think I just need to rest."

"Well," Simba said, still staring at Kopa. "Alright then. We're nearly back anyway." With that the two lions headed back to Pride Rock.

"What the Hell is wrong with me?" Kopa thought to himself. "I think all these hits to my head have scrambled my brain or something. I need help."

"You're just embracing your true self," Kion's voice said. "There's no shame in that."

"Shut up," Kopa hissed. "You don't know what the Hell you're talking about. So just shut the Hell up!"

"Are we back to this again?" Kion asked, sounding annoyed. "We've already been through this Kopa. I thought we agreed on this."

"I don't agree with you," Kopa declared, making sure he kept his voice low. "I'll never agree with you. Do you hear me Kion? I'd rather die then agree to anything you say you evil bastard."

"Kopa?" Jasiri's voice said, snapping Kopa out of his argument with Kion. "Are you alright?" the rusty brown lioness asked, the concern clear in her voice.

"Yeah I'm fine 'Siri," Kopa said. "I just need to rest. My head is pounding."

"Kopa," Jasiri began.

"I'll talk to you tomorrow alright?" Kopa said, giving Jasiri a quick nuzzle. Without waiting for a response Kopa went to get some much needed sleep, hoping that he would feel better tomorrow.

TLKTLKTLK

The next day Kopa woke up feeling even more confused. His headache was gone and his head felt more clear than it had in a long time. But the creamy brown lion still wasn't feeling quite himself. Getting up carefully Kopa exited the cave and sat on the edge. To his shock the sun wasn't even up yet. Kopa sat there for a few minutes just thinking when suddenly he heard someone call his name. "Huh?" Kopa said, shaking his head. "Who could be up at this time of night?" Kopa listened for a few seconds but he didn't hear anything else. "I must be hearing things," Kopa said as he stood and began to walk back inside the cave. But just then he heard the same someone from before call his name again.

"Kopa," came the whispered voice. "Kopa I know you're up there. I can see your shadow. Come to the watering hole."

"Who is that?" Kopa wondered. "Only one way to find out." With that Kopa walked down the side of Pride Rock and headed to the watering hole to see the mystery creature that was calling him.

TLKTLKTLK

Kopa walked until he reached the watering hole. He stopped looked around and sniffed the air for signs of anyone. Before long he caught a familiar scent. "Hello?" Kopa called out. Silence. "I know someone is there?" Kopa called out. "You may as well come out." Within minutes a figure emerged from the shadows.

"Hey there Kop'," Dogo said with a smile.

"Dogo?" Kopa said, the surprise clear in his voice. "What the Hell are you doing out here in the middle of the night?"

"I wanted to talk to you," the young jackal said. "I've been sleeping out here and I've been hoping to run into you. Then I saw your shadow and I figured I'd seize the opportunity and get your attention. And it worked."

"What do you want?" Kopa asked, trying to keep the irritation out of his voice.

"I just wanted to check on you," Dogo said. "You know see how things are going with you? How are things anyway?"

"If you really wanna know they're going pretty shitty," Kopa said. "I keep getting hit in my head and I think my brain is getting scrambled or something."

"What do you mean?" Dogo asked.

"I mean that..." Kopa began. But he stopped midsentence, not quite sure how to continue.

"Go on," Dogo said, trying not to sound pushy. Kopa remained silent and Dogo continued, "You know I'm the last creature in the world to judge anyone. You can talk to me."

"Well," Kopa said, thinking about it. "Alright. See here's the thing." With that Kopa told Dogo what had been happening the last couple of days.

"Wow," Dogo said, his blue eyes wide. "That's some serious shit Kopa."

"Great so you think I'm crazy," Kopa said, rolling his blue eyes. "Or even worse you think I'm like Nala don't you?"

"Well," Dogo began. "Maybe a little. But hey its bound to happen sooner or later."

"What the Hell is that supposed to mean?" Kopa demanded, glaring at Dogo.

"I mean think about it Kop'," Dogo said. "You are the son of Nala and Scar. And everyone knows how messed up they were. And Kion was your twin. You literally have the same DNA. Its only natural that you'd start to be like them."

"But Kiara is also the child of Scar and Nala," Kopa pointed out. "And she's perfectly normal."

"Is she though?" Dogo asked. "I mean from what I've heard Kiara's not exactly normal. She's gotten into more than her fair share of fights."

"Yeah she's defiantly got Mother's temper," Kopa remarked. "But King Simba and Queen Zira wouldn't have chosen her to be Nuka's mate and future Queen if they thought she was anything like our parents."

"Well there you go," Dogo said, extending his paw. "Simba and Zira have helped Kiara because she's betrothed to their son. That's why she's not as messed up. They obviously are gonna care more about her than you. All of them do."

"Yeah," Kopa said with a sigh. "Maybe you're right. I mean I went to Rafiki for help and he didn't do shit for me when he helped Kiara."

"That just proves my point even more," Dogo said. "They don't care about you Kopa. None of them do."

"Jasiri does," Kopa said. "She loves me."

"Maybe," Dogo said with a shrug. "Or maybe she just thinks she loves you. Either way she'll get over it."

"I don't..." Kopa began. But he was cut off by Dogo's annoyed sounding voice.

"Oh c'mon Kopa wake up," the male jackal said. "You'd be so much better off without them. Come with me and I'll take you to creatures that will accept you for you. A place where you belong."

"And just where is this place hmm?" Kopa asked, giving Dogo a look.

"Come with me and you'll find out," Dogo said. Kopa gave him a skeptical look and Dogo continued, "You trust me don't you?"

"Sure," Kopa said after a minute. "I trust you Dogo. And I know you're right. Lets go."

"Follow me," Dogo said with a smile. With that the two males began to walk away from the watering hole.

"This was easier than I thought," Dogo thought to himself. "Now its only a matter of time before Simba and his brew fall. Oh what a glorious time that will be." With that Dogo continued his walk, quite pleased at the sudden turn in events.
