-CHAPTER FIFTEEN - LIGHTS OFF-
-TED'S SWAMP-
The sun finally sets on Battleworld, as day one comes to a close
The Boltvengers and friends sit at Jack and Ted's camp, talking about their lives as superheroes
"You think a robot using a city as an asteroid is crazy?!" Warp asks
"Billy wanted to piss on the moon!" Warp explains
Everyone laughs, everyone except Jack
Everyone keeps talking, but James notices Jack
He seems more nervous, seemingly concerned about something
"You alright?" James asks
"I'm fine." Jack responds
"You sure? You seem.. nervous." James explains
Jack sighs
"I have a secret that I haven't told anyone except Ted." Jack explains
"A while ago, I was inflicted with a curse." Jack explains
"Every month, a full moon occurs." Jack explains
"Right.." James says
"My curse is activated by a full moon. Every full moon.. I become a werewolf." Jack explains
"You WHAT?!" James says
"And I'm nervous because I still had like, 20 days before my next transformation, but now that I'm here on a different planet, I don't know if there's a full moon every night, or if there is no full moon at all!" Jack explains
"You make a very good point, so uhh.." James says
"What do we do if the worst case scenario happens?" James asks
"You could either trap me somewhere I hopefully won't break out of, or the easier option, I get everyone's scent." Jack explains
"Has option B worked before?" James asks
"Twice." Jack responds
"I guess we'll go with option B then." James says
James stands up and walks towards the team
"Attention! Jack has revealed his secret to me." James explains
Jack walks beside him
"I need to get everyone's scent.." Jack explains
"I am a werewolf." Jack explains
"Do you transform every night or..?" Kamala asks
"Every full moon, which happens every month." Jack explains
"I had twenty days left back home, but I don't know how the moon works here, if a full moon occurs every night, or never." Jack explains
"So I need everyone's scent now, because I do not know when I'll turn." Jack explains
"Okay.." Strange says
Jack gets everyones scent
"So how many times has that worked, Jack?" Stun asks
"Twice." Jack responds
"Is that every single attempt, or excluding failed attempts?" Stun asks
"Every attempt." Jack explains
"So we'll be fine?" Nova asks
"Maybe.. I hope so.." Jack says
"Well shit." Kyle says
"You promise you won't eat us?" Kamala asks
"I can't promise, I can only hope." Jack explains
Kamala sighs
"I'm not gonna be able to sleep tonight." Kamala says
"Kamala, if the worst case scenario happens, this is the one thing I can promise." Jack says
"Ted will protect you." Jack explains
"You promise?" Kamala asks
"Ted, you'll protect everyone?" Jack asks
Ted nods
"See?" Jack says
"And to make sure you feel a bit safer, I will sleep on the other side of the swamp." Jack explains
"Ted, can you stay with everyone?" Jack asks
Ted nods
"Thanks, bud." Jack says
Jack enters his tent to grab a sleeping bag
"Why sleep in a tent, or a sleeping bag, when we can just do this." Brian says
Brian opens a portal to the Sanctum Sanctorum
"Come on in." Brian says
Everyone, except Jack and Ted walk into the Sanctum
"See you all in the morning." Jack says
"Assuming I'm still here." Jack says
Ted waves
The portal closes
"Welcome to the Sanctum Sanctorum." Brian explains
"We have a couple of sofas that you can rest on, if we run out of room up here, there's some downstairs." Brian explains
"So, I'll see you all tomorrow?" Brian asks
"Yep." Kyle responds
"Thanks for this, Brian." Marc says
"Yeah, no worries." Brian responds
"Alright, see you in the morning." Marc says
Everyone walks around the Sanctum, looking for a spot to sleep
