RE:BIRTH

OPENING THEME: KU ZEN ZETSU GO (Dragon Ball Z Kai: The Final Chapters)

The mysterious girl in blue who had crash landed in a Saiyan pod just outside of West City now lay in a bed in Capsule Corporation HQ. Goku had used his Instant Transmission just moments ago to travel to Korrin's Tower to collect some Senzu Beans, leaving Vegeta alone with the girl, an unpleasant scowl on his face.

This girl had crashed to Earth in a Saiyan space pod, yet she didn't look Saiyan. After all, a true Saiyan's hair would be black, like his, Kakarot's and Kakarot's son. The only exception to this, so far as Vegeta knew, was his own son, Trunks, whose hair color took more after his mother, but he was only half Saiyan.

A Half-Saiyan… there was a thought Vegeta couldn't help but entertain. It was always possible this girl had escaped a civilization being subjugated by the remnants of the Frieza Force, but that felt unlikely.

That said, her clothes were damaged, her body was covered with injuries, and she had been unconscious ever since the Z Warriors had found her, so she had clearly been in some sort of fight, and the proud prince had his doubts that that fight wouldn't soon be their problem as well.

Vegeta wasn't the only one who sensed danger.

On Korrin's Tower, Korrin awaited Goku's arrival.

"Korrin!" Goku shouted as he popped onto the Tower, "I…"

"Need Senzu Beans, I know!" Korrin said irately, walking away from Goku, "never come just to visit do ya."

"Ah, come on Korrin, we…" Goku began to protest, but Korrin tossed him a bag of Senzu Beans.

"Be careful with this one, Goku," Korrin declared, "I have a bad feeling about this one."

"Right, thanks Korrin!" Goku shouted as he instant transmitted away from the Tower. Korrin let out a sigh as he walked back to the edge of his tower and looked out at the world below.

"Seems that another crisis is never far off," he sighed.

Goku instantly reappeared at Capsule Corporation seconds later, holding the bag of Senzu beans.

"Bulma, hurry and give that girl one of these!" ho ordered, tossing a bean to Bulma who nodded her head in confirmation, rushing to the side of the girls bedside and feeding her the Senzu Bean.

The girl stirred and twitched for a moment before her eyes fluttered slowly open.

"Looks like she's waking up," Bulma called drawing the Z-Fighters into the bedroom where the girl had been resting.

"Uhhh, where am I?" the girl groaned, slowly sitting up.

"You're on Earth," Bulma revealed, "this is Capsule Corporation. You crashed in a ship just outside the city."

"You crashed to Earth in a Saiyan spaceship," Vegeta growled as the girl became more aware of her surroundings, "so why don't you tell us who you are?"

"I… my name is… Flora," the girl revealed, placing her hand over her forehead as though she had a headache, "I came here looking for help…"she continued looking up, "my mother told me to find the Saiyan prince, Vegetable!" she exclaimed suddenly, jumping out of her bed.

"Saiyan prince, Vegetable, huh?" Bulma repeated, snickering as Vegeta growled.

"Well, I suppose that proves you're no Saiyan if you don't even know the name of your own prince," he growled in irritation.

"Hey, I'm half Saiyan!" the girl protested angrily, "my father was a proud Saiyan warrior, and if you're so smart, what is the prince's name then!?"

"The prince's name is VEGETA not VEGETABLE!" Vegeta shouted angrily, causing the girl to squeal with fright.

"Oh yeah, that is what Mama said," Flora remembered, rubbing the back of her head awkwardly, "wait, if you know his name then you must know where I can find him! Please, you have to take me to him! I have something important to tell him!"

"Then spit it out, girl!" Vegeta shouted, causing her to squeal again, "honestly, your mother sent you to find me but didn't even show you a picture?"

"Hey, take it easy Vegeta," Goku objected, "you're scaring the kid."

"Huh?" the girl gasped as if just noticing Goku. Another ear shattering squeal pierced the air, though this one didn't sound frightened. "OHMYGOSHOHMYGOSHOHMYGOSH!" she squealed, "are you… are you really Goku!?"

"ARE YOU KIDDING!" Vegeta shouted angrily, causing another frightened squeal to escape Flora's lips, "you know this clown but don't know the prince of the race you supposedly share the blood of!?"

"I'm sorry!" Flora shouted in dismay, "see, my Mama has these crystal balls she made showing a bunch of fighters from all over the universe, and I've watched all of Goku's fights!" she exclaimed beginning to ramble. Vegeta was quickly losing his patience.

"You've watched all of Kakarot's fights!? Including our fight then!? Is this some sort of joke!? Why would your mother have something like that to begin with!?" he shouted angrily.

"She was keeping tabs on the universe's strongest fighters!" Flora shouted after another panicked squeal, "just in case we ever needed their help!"

"Enough fooling around," Piccolo interjected, his patience finally spent as well, "you said you had something to tell Vegeta. Well, spit it out!"

"Oh right!" Flora exclaimed, "I was told to tell Vegeta that the Dark Saiyans have been revived.

"Dark Saiyans?" Vegeta repeated, "Is that supposed to mean something to me?"

"I dunno, it's just what I was supposed to tell you," Flora replied.

"Gah, are you kidding me!? What kind of farce is this!?" Vegeta shouted angrily.

"I'll admit, Dark Saiyan doesn't sound like anything good," Bulma admitted.

"They aren't," Flora sobbed sadly, "they're horrible!"

"Why don't you tell us whatever you can about them?" Piccolo suggested.

"I guess I could… AHHHH!" Flora suddenly screamed, grabbing her head as though she were in pain.

"What's wrong? Do you need another Senzu Bean?" Goku asked.

"No… it's…" Flora gasped as she tried to catch her breath, "it's a distress signal! My sisters are in trouble! I gotta go!" she exclaimed, jumping out of bed.

"Hold on, you're not getting out of an explanation that easily," Vegeta growled.

"I gotta go!" Flora protested, "Teresa's hurt and Kayla can't fight! They'll die if I don't go!"

"Your sisters huh?" Goku thought for a moment, "well I wanna hear about these 'Dark Saiyan' guys, so what do you say we help you out saving your sisters, then you can tell us about them? That work for you, Vegeta."

"Grrr, fine. It'll be faster then waiting for you to rescue them yourself. But don't forget I'll have my eye on you. We'll see if there really is any Saiyan blood in you." Vegeta declared firmly.

"Guess I might as well tag along too," Piccolo agreed, "I can't say this Dark Saiyan stuff doesn't have me curious."

"You really mean it!" Flora cried gratefully, "thank you thank you thank you thank…"

"Be quiet. Let's go before I change my mind!" Vegeta roared angrily.

"Eep! Y… yes sir!"

The snowy ruins of Pieta had once again become a battlefield where Claymores fought desperately against an overwhelming force. The beasts that had besieged Clare and Miria from nowhere were vicious and relentless as the two tried to keep them at bay. The silver haired woman had joined the fight as well, but her injuries were clearly holding her back, as were her efforts to protect the younger girl from the onslaught.

"There're to many of them!" Clare shouted to Miria as she sliced a monster in half, "we have to retreat!"

"I don't think they're just going to let us!" Miria replied, ducking under a foes attack before quickly disarming and beheading it with her sword, "and we wouldn't get far trying to carry these two back with us!"

"Then one of us needs to get away and get help," Clare suggested, "I'll hold them off!"

"No! You won't be able to hold out against this many!" Miria protested.

"We'll both die if we don't try!" Clare shouted back.

As Clare and Miria argued, the monsters assaulting them suddenly fell still. The two Claymores stood ready, waiting for whatever came next.

"What are they doing?" Clare wondered aloud.

"Let's go, while they're distracted!" Miria whispered to her comrade.

"That won't be necessary," the silver haired woman declared, walking up beside the Claymores, "help has arrived."

Before the Claymores could ask what she meant, four blue orbs of light appeared in the snow in front of them. With a bright flash of light, the orbs vanished, replaced by Flora, accompanied by Goku, Vegeta, and Piccolo.

"Hmph, this is the danger your sister was in? This horde of trash?" Vegeta growled.

"Yeah, I mean, there're a lot of 'em, sure, but they don't seem that strong," Goku admitted.

"If this Teresa was in as bad a shape as Flora was, though, it wouldn't take much to finish her off," Piccolo reminded the two Saiyans.

"Flora!" Teresa called to her younger sister.

"Teresa! Catch!" Flora shouted, throwing two Senzu Beans to her elder sister, "one for you and one for Kayla!"

"Well done little sister. We owe you our lives!" Teresa declared as she ate the bean.

"Saved us?" Clare repeated, clearly unconvinced, "how? We're barely any better off then we were before!"

"Hmm," Piccolo grunted, looking back at Clare and Miria, "what's with these two? They're stronger then most humans, but their energy feels off."

"Take a look at these guys," Goku said, looking over the group of monsters in front of them. They looked human at first glance, but upon further inspection, it became clear that they were actually more reptilian in appearance, with snake like eyes and two, slit like nostrils where their noses should have been. Their skin was a pale, greenish color, their hands and feet looked human other then the sharp black claws they had in place of fingernails, and they all wore clothes that were tattered and shredded. Adding to their resemblance to humans was the fact that their figures made it look like their were both males and females among them.

"They just look like a bunch of freaks to me," Vegeta spat in disgust, "I say we dispose of them quickly and be done with it."

"Hold on! These things are strong!" Clare protested, "you'll die if you…"

"If we what!?" Vegeta shouted angrily, silencing the Claymore, "you're in over your head here little girl, so why don't you run along home and let the real warriors deal with this!"

"What did you say!?" Clare gasped, clearly surprised and angered by Vegeta's insults.

"Clare, stop," Miria warned her, "I'd hate to say it, but at the very least he may be right about us being in over our heads."

"Good to see one of you has some sense," Vegeta hissed, "now, allow me to give you a demonstration!" he shouted, his energy erupting from him as he ascended to his Super Saiyan form.

"Whoa, hold on, Vegeta! That's a bit much isn't it?" Goku protested.

"Be quiet, Kakarot!" Vegeta shouted in response as he pointed the palm of his hand at the army of monsters, "as for you freaks, you can bear witness to Super Vegeta's BIG BANG ATTACK!" he shouted, firing an orb of energy into the mass of creatures.

The blast struck one of the creatures head on and exploded, completely atomizing not only the beast it hit, but several dozen of the monsters around it, as well as knocking flat most of the beasts outside the blast radius.

The explosion rocked Helen off of the rock she'd been lying on, sending her crashing into the snow.

"What the hell was that?" Deneve stuttered as the shaking stopped. Tabitha and Cynthia's sparing had been interrupted by the shaking and Yuma had actually been knocked off of her feet.

"Ow," Helen groaned, pushing herself out of the snow, "oh what now?"

"We need to find Clare and Miria," Deneve ordered.

"So we're going towards the explosion then?" Helen sighed, "oh great."

Clare and Miria had both been shaken by Vegeta's attack, just managing to stay on their feet.

"What was that?" Clare exclaimed, clearly shocked as she looked at the crater Vegeta's attack had left behind.

"I've never seen power like that," Miria admitted, "even the Creatures of the Abyss aren't that powerful!"

"Hmph," Vegeta grunted, "is that all these freaks can do? Pathetic."

"All the same, we'd better deal with them, quickly," Piccolo suggested, "I'm sure we've all got plenty of questions for our new friends."

"If time is of the essence, then allow me to assist you," the silver haired woman, Teresa, suggested, walking up to stand between Goku and Piccolo, "Flora, give Kayla the second Senzu Bean."

"Oh, uh, right!" Flora replied, running over to the still unconscious, orange haired girl and propping her up with one arm. "Rise and shine, sis," she said as she gently pushed the senzu bean into her sister's mouth.

"And what exactly can you do?" Vegeta demanded.

"This for a start," Teresa declared as she began to channel her energy. She let out a scream as her energy flared and her hair turned golden.

"Well well. Seems the brat wasn't lying after all. There is Saiyan blood in you," Vegeta admitted as Super Saiyan Teresa fired a blast of silver energy into the creatures, disintegrating any it came in contact with.

"Yes, Prince Vegeta," Teresa replied, "we are the daughters of Nion."

"Nion? Is that name supposed to be familiar to me?" Vegeta demanded clearly catching Teresa off guard.

"You don't… no… I guess that makes sense. Your father would have been the one to banish my father from Planet Vegeta," she realized, "which means you likely know nothing of my father's experiments!"

"Experiments?" Vegeta repeated the word, "what…?"

"Let's save the questions until we finish this," Piccolo ordered.

"Agreed," Teresa said, nodding, "it would be better to wait until all are brought together. My mother will be better at explaining the situation then I."

"Alright then, let's do this! Hyyaahhhh!" Goku roared, ascending to Super Saiyan.

Seemingly unaware of how outmatched they were, the creatures continued their single-minded march towards the heroes. Simultaneously, the four warriors launched their own charge, sending creatures flying in all directions as they slammed into the horde.

Miria and Clare could barely follow the action as the warriors decimated the horde that had been giving them so much difficulty. They moved constantly at speeds that even at her best, Miria would struggle to match for even brief moments. The creatures were fearless as they continued their approach, but it hardly mattered. Before Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, and Teresa, they were like a horde of ants marching fearlessly against a dinosaur, only to be immediately crushed. Before long, only ten of the creatures remained.

"Time to end this farce," Vegeta declared, preparing to finish off the remaining creatures with a Big Bang attack. Before he could, however, there was a flash of light as a red crystal fell from the sky and embedded itself into the ground in the middle of the monsters.

"Now what?" Clare worried as the remaining creatures were absorbed into the crystal.

"Oh not good!" Flora whined as she watched. Teresa fired a blast of energy at the gem, but it was deflected by an energy barrier as the crystal cracked, then shattered.

A cloud of red smoke emerged from the cloud and rose into the sky. As the heroes watched, the smoke began to form into something. Soon, the smoke solidified, creating a red, dragon like creature with long arms that ended with three pitch black claws, thick, muscular legs, the feet of which had three more claws each in place of toes, and a powerful, lizard like tail with four spikes sticking out at its end. Its head was large, almost to large for its body, with an egg like shape to it. Tentacles hung off the front of its face like a horrifying beard under two furious eyes that were black as coal, save for a yellow, slitted pupil per eye. The creature struck a terrible visage as it stared down the warriors.

"Huh?" Goku exclaimed, "there's only one now!"

"Yes, but this one is far more powerful then all of the others combined," Teresa cursed, "this is the same kind of creature that defeated my sisters and me and forced us to flee our home."

"You fled? From this creature?" Vegeta growled out an angry response, "you would call yourself even a half-Saiyan yet you'd abandon your home to these freaks!? Where is your Saiyan pride, woman!?"

"What value is pride of to the dead?" Teresa cursed resentfully.

"You think death is the worst fate you can suffer?" Vegeta growled quietly, "all of you stay out of this!" he roared, approaching the creature.

"What!?" Flora exclaimed in surprise.

"Prince Vegeta, you can't…" Teresa began to protest.

"Be quiet!" Vegeta shouted, silencing Teresa's concern, "you call yourself a Saiyan!? Don't make me laugh! Even if his body breaks, even if he loses his life, the one thing a Saiyan must never lose…" the proud prince hissed as his power erupted into an aura so intense and powerful that it generated strings of electricity to flash and fade around the prince, indicating his ascension to Super Saiyan 2, "…IS HIS PRIDE!" he shouted furiously, creating a shockwave as he charged the creature.

The creature charged as well, running headlong at Vegeta and attacking the prince with a swipe from its claws. It missed completely, passing harmlessly over the prince's head as he ducked under it and planted a bone shattering blow into the creature's stomach! For a moment, the rage in the creatures eyes dissolved, replaced by shock. Teresa wore an identical expression.

"That's… how? That creature rivals Frieza in terms of power!"

"I keep telling ya, sis! You need to watch Mama's recordings! I mean Piccolo left Frieza behind years ago!" Flora explained.

"Yeah Frieza's pretty small potatoes for us anymore," Goku admitted, laughing.

"Hold on, I'm not letting that slide," Vegeta growled, his angry glare causing Flora to sweat nervously, "are you saying you've watched Piccolo's fights but not mine!?"

"I think I… uhhh…" Flora stuttered nervously, "hey wait a minute. YOU'RE THE IDIOT WHO LET CELL ABSORB THE ANDROIDS!" she blurted out suddenly, causing Vegeta's angry expression to become one of shock.

"What! I… that didn't… you don't…" he floundered.

"Hmmph, I think little Flora just dealt the most damage of anyone in this fight," Piccolo commented.

"Heh heh, she got you there Vegeta! That was pretty dumb," Goku laughed.

"Says the guy who gave Cell a Senzu Bean."

Vegeta wasn't talking anymore, he was shaking with rage as the monster shrunk in fear under his murderous glare.

"You picked a bad day to challenge me," Vegeta growled with an icy fury that could freeze an open flame.
